Hear now the words of Cain, Law Giver
Hear now the Words of Cain, Father of Kindred
Hear now the Words of Cain, he who murdered his brother out of love
And one day, Cain sat in counsel with his brood, to extoll upon them secret knowledge.
Know thou the eternals, who bear the shattered pieces of a great whole. My children, thou are undead, and are a simulacrum of immortality, like I, your sire, but these are true immortals. And in the time of ending, when the one above castigates the land, they will become as one. What they will become, even I do not know but this dread Uriel told me. The eternals shall become one and shall be one of the terrible signs of Gehenna.
Beware!
Lilith knows them as do the secret things beyond time, and know the eternals' dread secrets. Terrible is the fate of kindred but more terrible is the fate of the eternals. They kind are driven into diablerie, and they seek out each other, battling one another to feed. They devour each other, just as the diablerists among our kind seek the blood of kindred. And one day, my children, when only one remains, beware! For a being that existed before this world shall return, and I tremble at its coming.
The eternals bear the form of Kine, yet they are nothing like them. They eat and yet know not hunger. They drink yet know not thirst. They sleep as we sleep, to forget. They are incorruptible by spell and hex, no sickness can blight them. They know the shadowlands, but cannot remember them. They have powers that can destroy many kindred, but it is a power secret to them.
Beware! Beware! Do not traffic with the eternals for they have no blood to nourish thee nor can thou curb them as thou would your flock. They are outside the power of your disciplines, for in their eyes peer another intelligence. Drive them away from your homes but do not cross them. They have their wars as the kindred have theirs. If thou can, set them against Lupines and those who stand against our kind. A dangerous weapon and an even more dangerous enemy.
You shall meet many over the course of time. Suffer them in your cities if you must. Know that they shall quickly pass by, for fear of their own kind. If you must fight them, remember that you are weak against sun and fire, whereas they are friend to Uriel's sword. Remember that they are like Seth's kin, and are closer to them than they are to you.
Watch them. Learn from them. They shall fight with sword and blade, hacking at each other's head. I have seen them in their battles when one devours the power of the other. When one of them dies, a great burst of power is released, alien to anything I've ever seen before. The eternals devour this power as we devour vitae, and I suspect that they crave it. For that power makes them stronger, more potent and perhaps wiser as well. Thus, know the one weakness of the eternals. They desire the deaths of their own kind, and that is an advantage you must use against them.
Decapitation is another weakness and you may be able to strike down a fledgling eternal but not one of their elders. Like kindred, the older shall ever be more powerful than the younger, and decapitation is often not enough to slay those. An elder immortals may only be killed but only by another of their kind, and it is foolish kindred who would involve themselves in such conflicts. Know only that they do not traffic with one another, fearing one another as elders fear diablerists. In this, we are stronger than they, for Kindred make pacts and they are always alone, and alone they shall be until the end of time.
When thou sees the signs of Gehenna, when clanless thrive and a bleeding star crosses the night sky, the few among the eternals who remain will be called to come to a Great City. There, they shall battle one another until only one remain. Flee from such a place. Flee for the Predator now dwells there, and it shall castigate many things, and reveal secrets known only to few.
And then Cain became silent, and his childer were amazed.
