Episode 25: Lightspeed Chaos, Part 1

While Anubis was busy, Kat Manx was in charge of the room. Knowing that the Rangers were still tense and worried, for once, she believed watching one of these memories would either be a good choice or the worst thing they have ever done.

Regardless of her thoughts, Gia was right—they had to find out what's going on, and these memories seemed to be the only way.

"Alright, Rangers, I know we are all worried but let's see what the next memories bring to us," said Kat Manx, looking at Bass. "Want to help?"

Bass, still a little worried, nodded and walked towards Kat Manx, extending a hand with her to activate the video recorder. This time, Conner was giving a class to slightly older cadets where Bass had started his first days.

"How did you get dad to allow you to be here?" asked Orion, slightly confused. "I can't see him agreeing with you becoming a Ranger."

"He wasn't happy but at the same time, I made him see Andresia needed people able to fight and defend our people. Even if you came back, you alone couldn't protect the whole planet and Jake promised to make sure I was ready before going on any mission. He explained to dad that I wasn't the only one trying to become a Ranger—Bridge and Sky were there—and Jake explained to dad he would never put any of us in danger," said Bass. "Dad only agreed if Jake gave him daily reports, which he did until I became a Ranger. Now, I do it."

Orion chuckled and both Silver Rangers looked at the image as Conner was presenting another group of Rangers to the class. This time, it was pretty evident who they were—the difference was this time Conner was alone. He looked a lot more serious now, as if he had prepared this class accordingly and his skills as a teacher were growing with these kids.

"Ah, this must be the time we learned about Gold and Silver Rangers," said Bass, smiling with a feeling of nostalgia.

SPD Academy (2017) – Conner's Class – Morning

"Alright class let's see if you did your homework," said Conner, indicating Rico to show the cadets the first picture. "Who is this Ranger?"

"Trey of Triforia!" said the class and Conner chuckled. "Good answer. Yes, this Ranger is Trey of Triforia, the original Gold Zeo Ranger. Trey is an invaluable member of the Power Rangers as he has vast knowledge of the Universe. Right now, he is helping us track the far away planets but in his time as Ranger, Trey was a disciplined and loyal Ranger able to separate himself into three personalities: Courage, Wisdom, and Heart."

Conner pointed at the three personalities and at Trey fighting with and without his Gold Zeo armor to the cadets' surprise as they had never heard of this Ranger but Conner wanted them to know all of them, so he included Trey, who later would give his powers to Jason, as it was the natural choice. "During his time with the Zeo Rangers, Trey got injured and he gave his powers to the other Gold Zeo Ranger, Jason Lee Scott."

"The Commander's dad? He had two powers?" asked one of the cadets.

"Yes, he did. Many Rangers over the years have had different powers. Tommy Oliver is the one that has changed his powers more over the years but there are others like Jason, Adam Park, Rocky DeSantos, TJ Johnson, and Jake himself. Jason came to help when he was needed and with him on the team, the Zeo Rangers got a powerful new ally. Jason was always a respected member, the leader of the first team, and with his experience and his combat skills, the Zeo Rangers became a stronger team, ready to face the Machine Empire."

The cadets nodded, taking notes for the exam they would have soon while Rico changed the image from Trey and Jason to Zhane. Conner pointed at him and then looked at the cadets.

"Alright, who can tell me the name of this Ranger and his team?" asked Conner and Rachel quickly raised her hand. Conner nodded. "He's Zhane, Silver Space Ranger and best friend of Andros. He is fun and everyone seemed to get along with him but he also has quick thinking. His powers are teleportation and enhanced strength."

"Wow… someone is a fan of Zhane," said Conner and Rachel blushed. "You are right, Rachel. In the moment where Andros and his team needed an extra boost, Zhane was the perfect candidate. Not only is he a powerful member but he also helped them mentally, bringing a little fun into their lives and that is a valuable lesson, kids. Our jobs as protectors of the Universe are important but we must not forget that being a Ranger is not only about becoming physically strong, but also mentally capable to endure the hardship of our legacy and Zhane is the man you need to look up to help balance your mental stability."

The cadets nodded, looking forward to meeting the iconic Silver Ranger. They saw Zhane making others smile and fighting in complete synchronization with Andros, showcasing their understanding and friendship as Andros was more skilled but Zhane always brought the surprise factor to the fight. The cadets took notes of his suit weapons and noted the page in the book with his past while Rico changed the image showing Merrick Baliton.

Conner pointed at him. "This is Merrick and while he is not a Silver Ranger per se, he is considered the Wild Force Team's Silver Ranger. Do you know what he is called?"

"Lunar Wolf Ranger!" said the class and Conner nodded, proud of the cadets. "Very nice, kids. Yes, Merrick is the Lunar Wolf Ranger and guardian of Princess Shayla and Animarium. As it is explained in your books, Merrick's past is full of determination and doubt as he had to fight the struggle between good and evil but he is one of the best representations of what duty means. He fought to be good, despite his doubts and learned to trust the other Rangers protecting Animarium. Merrick is an example of growth and maturity because despite his initial desires to be alone, he learned the importance of teamwork and managed to overcome his struggles to help the other Rangers and his princess."

The cadets nodded, seeing images of Merrick fighting both against the Rangers and later with the Rangers. They saw his initial problems and how little by little, his undying sense of duty slightly changed the lone wolf into a man trusted by his friends who always stood as a shield between evil and his princess.

Then Conner moved the images this time and the kids quickly pointed at him as they saw the next Rangers. Bass, in the middle of the class, was taking notes until he looked up and saw a man that didn't seem from Earth. He looked curious as the man, like Trey of Triforia, seemed to be an alien but this one… he was different.

"Who can tell me something about this Ranger?" asked Conner and the cadets raised their hands. "Thomas?"

"He's Tyzonn, the Mercury Operation Overdrive Ranger," said the cadet and Conner nodded, allowing him to continue. "He is an alien with the power to transform into liquid metal and at first, he lost his first team and was forced to become a monster to fight the Rangers."

"Very well," said Conner, smiling. "You guys are getting better at this. Tyzonn always felt like an outsider, which is why at first he rejected becoming a Ranger as he couldn't see himself working with another team but eventually, he didn't only become a part of the team. He also became a friend who managed to find a place in this world. Tyzonn is an example of courage to overcome loss and find a new path despite the hardship."

In many ways, Tyzonn's story resonated with him and Conner understood better what the Mercury Ranger must have felt as he too, lost his team now but while Tyzonn never had an opportunity to bring back his team and his love, Conner along with Jake and Mike was doing everything he could to bring them all back.

Conner took a deep breath knowing this was not the moment to think about that, the class wasn't over and he still had a few Rangers to discuss with his class so he made a gesture to Rico, who was showing images of Tyzonn using his powers, fighting before and after he became a Ranger and how he became a friend for the Overdrive Rangers. The robot nodded, going to the next Ranger in their list. Thankfully, this Ranger was different from Merrick and Tyzonn and it made Conner forget a little the memories their stories brought to him.

"Antonio!"

Conner smiled when he saw the cadets knew who he was. Antonio was pretty popular, not only because he was the Gold Samurai Ranger and his symbol was exposed in Mike's dojo and Masamune but because in general, Antonio's technique and fight style was something Jake was also teaching these cadets, being a mix between Samurai style and Antonio's own training.

"Antonio, as you know, is the Gold Samurai Ranger. Jayden's childhood friend and one of the most positive influences you can encounter in this Ranger world. Antonio is special in his own way because he is the only member who doesn't come from a Samurai family and yet, he managed to configure a morpher to become the Gold Ranger. His determination and ability to work with Jayden made him a vital member for the team and he is your best evidence that if you put faith and work into something, you can achieve it," said Conner. "He became a Ranger to help first Jayden and then the rest of the friends he made at the Shiba House and you, cadets, will become Rangers someday too, to help the Universe, just like Antonio."

Many cadets smiled excitedly to become someone like the Gold Samurai Ranger and Conner chuckled as Rico showed images of Antonio fishing, and how he worked hard to become a rightful member of the Samurai Rangers. The cadets saw his dedication and through that, Conner could feel their determination to, someday, become Power Rangers too.

Then, Rico finally showed the image of someone Bass knew very well and the young cadet looked surprised at his brother, both when he came to Earth and when he officially became the Silver Ranger in the Megaforce Team.

"Bass? Who is this Ranger?" asked Conner as the young boy was unable to tear his eyes from his brother. Conner waited, patiently, while the other cadets looked at Bass and the boy managed to find his voice despite the emotions running through him.

"He's Orion," whispered Bass. "Silver Ranger of the Megaforce Rangers. He came from Andresia, escaping from the Armada and was found here by you, Professor McKnight, and by Commander Scott. Later, he became the Silver Ranger of the Megaforce Rangers and with them… he managed to defeat the Armada. He is… he's my brother."

The cadets looked at him surprised, as many of them knew the Rangers were currently inside crystals that kept them alive and Conner smiled softly, feeling a sense of protectiveness towards the boy as he whispered the last statement. He walked towards him, giving Bass a small hug and then looked at his class, as seriously as he could be.

"Orion is a friend, like the other Rangers you saw before and the ones you will see in future classes. They are heroes, heroines, guardians, and protectors of the Universe, like you will be someday. The steps you are taking today will decide your destiny tomorrow and like you, they all had choices to make during their times as Rangers," explained Conner. "Orion ran away from his planet looking for help and in the end, he saved Earth while Jake saved Andresia. He is an example of never giving up and trusting others despite the situation."

Conner looked down at Bass and gave him a smile before going back to his seat where he looked at his class, all of them focused on Orion's skill with and without the suit. His effort to trust strangers to help save his planet and the importance of understanding that sometimes you can receive the same amount of loyalty you give. Rico ended the images with a mix of all Silver and Gold Rangers together so the cadets could see the true power of Gold and Silver and Conner nodded as Rico closed the image and stood beside him.

"This power you see now, someday will be yours to protect and I want you to be sure you can handle the responsibility of this legacy," said Conner, as the cadets paid attention to him, completely focused. "Their journey is one of effort, dedication and learning to trust others different from them but is also a journey of finding themselves, of power and friendship and that, cadets, is what makes these Rangers a powerful addition to the teams. Do you understand?"

The cadets nodded, more serious than ever and Conner knew they understood the issue. He wasn't sure who will be who in the future but it was his job to make them understand that this job, these powers came with a responsibility not only to become protectors of the right but also to the people before them and their stories.

SPD Academy (2017) – Jake's Office

Meanwhile in his office, Jake was going through a few advances in the new SPD morphers. He chuckled seeing Bridge and Sky's notes about the morphers. They even made some not-so-great drawings of them but Jake had an idea of what they were thinking and the more he tried to read Hayley's notes, the more convinced he was this was the way to go.

He was so deep into the project it took a few knocks on the door to realize someone wanted to see him. "Come in!" said Jake when he realized Anubis wanted to give him the report of the morning and a moment later, he saw the Emperor walking into the room with more paperwork.

"Commander, these are the reports of the morning," said Anubis, giving the paperwork to Jake.

"Thank you, Anubis," said Jake, taking a look while Cruger looked over the designs and chuckled. "Skylar and Bridge are as smart as Kat but I fear art is not one of their strong skills."

"No, but they did apply a few new ideas I want to try," said Jake, laughing at Cruger's statement as he read the reports. "It seems everything is going according to plan. The Rangers are recovering energy and the city is growing better than I expected."

"Everyone is putting their effort into making this planet a safe place so we can continue with our job, Commander," said Cruger and Jake nodded. "So… any new thoughts on the Rangers coming back to help you and the guardians in your mission?"

Jake stopped reading and looked up at Anubis. "Not really. We believe it may be some weird time travel or interdimensional travel. It wouldn't be the first time with Rangers, especially since Bridge and Sky seem to be involved, which reminds me. I have to talk to you all about that SPD team later. For now, all we can do is focus on continuing our job and recover everyone's energy."

Of course, Anubis knew he was involved and that he too would be part of the team but Jake wanted time to make sure they understood the implications and they were missing three kids: Syd, Jack, and Z. He already had the Aquitar Rangers looking for Jack and Z but Syd was nowhere to be found, at least not yet and Jake worried how long it would take for them to find the kids.

For all he knows, they could be in danger. Jake sighed when he heard his morpher and sharing a brief look with Anubis, Jake answered. "Yes?"

"Jake, we have a visitor at the Command Room," said Alpha-5. "They have identified themselves as Captain Mitchell and Angela."

"Woah! Captain Mitchell and Angela are here!? Bring them to my office, Alpha, please," said Jake with a big smile.

"Right away, Commander!"

Jake laughed, not believing they were here and Cruger looked at him, curious. He had heard those names before but it wasn't until Jake walked to his table and made sure everything was perfect that he remembered who these new visitors were.

"These are the Captain and the scientist of the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers, correct?" asked Cruger, watching Jake trying to look more serious and professional.

"Yeah, believe it or not, they come at the perfect moment. I wanted to ask Angela a few questions and I think having Captain Mitchell here will do us good. He is a natural leader," said Jake while Cruger put the documents on the table. "Jacob, are you nervous?"

"I… well, yeah. They are the best and I…"

"You are the Commander," said Cruger and Jake looked at him. "If you are going to meet with someone as important as you say they are, take a deep breath and be yourself. You may still be the boy you were when you became a Ranger but you are also much more, all you need to do is believe in yourself."

Jake looked at Cruger for a few moments and then he nodded. Anubis was right and yet, he was going to meet a man that knew about this world far more than Jake and he couldn't help but feel nervous, wondering if Captain Mitchell would approve of his way of leading the Academy.

In any case, he didn't have time to ponder his fears when there was a knock at the door and Jake finally composed himself while Anubis opened the door to receive the newcomers. Jake smiled when he saw the surprise on the faces of the two older mentors of the Lightspeed Rescue team.

"Jake!"

Jake opened his arms when Angela threw herself at him, hugging him close. It had been a long time since he had the chance to visit them and having them in his arms was almost like recovering another part of himself he lost.

"Angela, it is good to see you," said Jake and Angela took a step back to look at him. "Look at you. You look so different."

Jake blushed when she hugged him again and then she took a step back so Captain Mitchell could take a good look at him. Jake looked up to the man, feeling nervous again but then, he felt the man's hand on his shoulder and his smile.

"You are a true Commander, Jacob. Good job."

Maybe it was the fact that someone with the rank told him these words or maybe because as a leader, Captain Mitchell is someone Jake always looked up to but his words calmed the fear inside him so when the man hugged him, Jake finally felt he was doing things right.

"Thank you, sir," whispered Jake.

Captain Mitchell smiled and then he took a step back as Jake recovered himself to look at Anubis, who was patiently waiting with Angela. "Let me introduce you to Anubis Cruger, Emperor of planet Sirius and my second in command. Anubis, these are Captain Mitchell and Angela, mentor and scientist for the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers."

"It is an honor to meet you," said Cruger as he extended his hand to them.

"The honor is ours," said Captain Mitchell as he and Angela saluted Cruger and then, they looked at Jake. "We have been told our Rangers are here with you and you have a plan to bring them back, is that correct?"

"Yes, the Dark Ranger stole their energies during the battle in Harwood Beach. Only three of us and the Aquitar Rangers are here at the moment but we are working on bringing them all back," explained Jake, looking at his documents. "The Dark Ranger is using past enemies to 'test' us as he said but every time we defeat them, the energy goes back to our Rangers."

"Uhm… it is strange for an enemy to give you the means to save the Rangers after stealing their energies," said Captain Mitchell and Jake nodded. "We believe he is testing us, maybe he wants us stronger so he can steal our energy in the future. I'm not sure but all my focus is to defeat as many as we can to get the energy of our Rangers back and at the same time, we try to teach the cadets here everything we know and give everyone that needs it a safe place to feel secure."

Captain Mitchell nodded. He and Angela had a chance to see a little about the Academy while they were coming here and both agreed this Academy was the future of the Power Rangers. He personally had to admit he wasn't very sure when Tensou and Kendall contacted him and told him where Jake and his Rangers were but now, he knew they were safe.

It brought some peace to him despite knowing his son and daughter were inside crystals, sleeping and defeating the Dark Ranger was the only way to bring them back.

"I see… well, is there something we can do to help?" asked Captain Mitchell. "Mariner Bay is well established and we have to go back eventually but if there is anything you need, we would like to assist you."

Jake looked at them but his surprise quickly turned into a big smile because having both Captain Mitchell and Angela here could give them a boost in the new projects and a few other plans Jake had in mind.

"Of course. Anubis please, call Kat Manx, our lead scientist. I'm sure Angela and she will have much to discuss about our projects so make sure Angela has free access to everything and then, come to talk to me and Captain Mitchell about our defense plans. Also, call Conner and Mike if they are not busy I would like for them to meet Angela and Captain Mitchell," said Jake.

"Right away, Commander," said Cruger.

Anubis nodded at Angela and Captain Mitchell and left the office to follow his orders while Jake invited his friends to sit with him so they could talk more about what was going on in Earth and the rest of the Universe.

"Please, tell me everything you know," said Jake. "The more prepared we are, the better."

Captain Mitchell and Angela shared a look as they sat down. The man in front of them was not a boy anymore, his aura was brilliant and as Tensou and Kendall told them, Jake was becoming more and more important not only to this Academy, but to the Universe.

Only time will tell how that importance will play out in the final battle.

Earth's Moon (2017) – Settlement

The day was like any other at the small settlement on the moon. The scientists in charge of watching the Universe were worried about the Dark Rangers and their impending attack on their home, so they were planning to move to Eltar, where they would be protected from the attack.

One of those families planning to move soon was Sydney's, as her parents were working at the main base. She had a priority to travel today to Eltar, but before that could happen, she and her nana were going to one of the supply depots to get a few important basics before waiting for her parents to come back home and leave the settlement.

They were walking inside the supply depot where her family had their supplies when suddenly she heard a loud noise coming from outside. Her nana quickly covered her, but Syd looked around, hearing people screaming.

"What's happening!?" screamed a scared Syd.

"Let's get home, sweetie," said her nana, ignoring her question. "I'm sure everything will be fine."

Syd didn't know if her nana was right, especially when she looked at the door and saw people falling to the ground and not moving. She knew what that meant and she held her nana tight as the woman dragged her inside the supply storage. It was then when Syd had the chance to see, through one of the windows, that the main base had been attacked by ships with skeletal forms and, terrified, she looked at her nana.

"Mom and Dad!" screamed Syd.

"Sydney, not now," said her nana, pushing her inside the storage room.

Sydney tried to understand what was happening when she heard something opening the door of the supply depot and blasters firing. People tried to escape and she was horrified when she saw a man falling but her nana quickly looked at her and smiled.

"Whatever happens, my child, survive."

And then, she closed the door, leaving Syd inside the storage, with no way out and the horrible sounds of people falling all around her.

SPD Academy (2017) – Jake's Office

After a little chat and presentations, Jake and Captain Mitchell saw Conner and Mike talking to Cruger with RoboKnight, Bridge and Sky while Angela and Kat Manx were already planning upcoming projects and collaborations.

Captain Mitchell smiled, watching Bridge and Sky. "I still can't believe you have a son. What are you 20 now?"

"I feel older but yes," said Jake, chuckling. "Bridge is a smart boy. He's good to all of us and to be honest, somedays he's the only thing that makes me want to wake up."

Mitchell could see this, despite his smile, Jake as a tired young man, the abuse of his powers mixing with the stress of being the leader everyone expected him to be, a lot of pressure for a young man like him and yet, he carried the burden with the help of his friends and with that smile that was becoming more and more mature.

"I see… you have changed a lot, Jake but I want you to remember that being a leader is more than just being there all the time," said Captain Mitchell, looking down as Jake looked at him, confused. "Your responsibility as Ranger and as father is equally important. I fear my determination to lead back when my children were young put me in a position where I could not be there for them as much as they needed me and I want to make sure you don't follow my path because believe me, Jake, the years you are missing now, will never come back."

Jake nodded, taking his words to heart as he watched Bridge laugh at something RoboKnight said. "I understand, sir. Sometimes I worry I'm not being a good father to him or a good support to the cadets but I know I'm not alone, the support of my friends allows me to be better for everyone else and Bridge… he understands why I'm doing this and why this is so important, Sky too."

Mitchell nodded and both men fell into a comfortable silence. It was good to think and to see the small hope in the future of these children regardless of their current situation but despite the gentle look in Mitchell's eyes, Jake knew exactly what the man needed to connect with the situation again.

"Would you like to go to the crystal room and see Dana, Ryan and the other Rangers?" asked Jake, surprising Captain Mitchell. Jake smiled, getting up and offering the Captain his hand.

"How do you…?"

"Father's intuition," said Jake and Captain Mitchell nodded, accepting Jake's hand as he signaled the rest of the room to follow him. When Bridge nodded and ran to his papa, standing between him and Mitchell with a soft smile, the older man knew that Jake was following the right path.

He will be a father and a Ranger and Captain Mitchell and his team will make sure to do everything in their hand to help him and the Academy in everything they can.

Earth's Moon (2017) – Storage

Sydney was shaking. She couldn't hear anyone anymore but the cold was starting to make her sleepy and she knew she had to get out of there soon if she wanted to survive like her nana told her. So, gathering her courage, Syd managed to open the door slowly and look outside where she could see the horrors of the attack.

She moved as slowly as she could not attract attention when she heard steps in the distance, indicating to her that there was still someone out there. Since she didn't know if it was friend or foe, she had to be careful and find her nana as soon as possible.

Syd took a deep breath. Small as she was, her parents didn't forget to teach her a few things while they spoiled her, so she had no problem moving between boxes without being seen. But the fact that she had to jump over bodies in search of her nana was devastating and told Syd the people that were attacking her settlement were the same ones she and her family were supposed to escape from.

Syd tried to contain her tears as she thought of her parents. They were probably gone at this point, her nana was her only choice but the more she moved between people and debris, the more she thought she wouldn't find her.

It wasn't until Syd found a woman on the ground, covering another kid, that she recognized the body and she couldn't help but run towards her. Syd knelt beside her nana, touching her cold arm as she realized that she was gone. Syd was all alone.

"What am I supposed to do?" asked Syd, looking at herself. She was a child, she didn't know how to survive like her nana wanted. She was her dad's princess, she couldn't…

Suddenly, she heard steps in her direction and without thinking, Syd ran towards the service room of the supply depot where she knew they had some cameras and maybe a radio so she could look for someone alive. She didn't know enough about survival but she had to try and, gathering the little courage she had, Syd ran to the room, locking the door as soon as she got into the room.

"Alright…" said Syd, feeling the tears in her eyes. "Don't cry, Sydney, a strong princess doesn't cry until the end."

She walked towards the center of the room, looking for something to help her when she found a radio on the ground. It wasn't much, but it was her only choice. She couldn't fight whatever these monsters were. She wanted her parents but she wasn't sure they were still alive.

Syd took a deep breath, her little hands shaking as she looked at the radio and then turned it on, putting it as close to her mouth as possible so she could whisper for help. "Please someone?" whispered Syd, her soft voice shaking with fear and sadness. "My name is Sydney and the depot supply has been attacked… everyone is on the ground, not moving… please… please I need help."

She looked at the radio, hoping that someone somewhere could help her.

SPD Academy (2017) – Crystal Room

Jake looked with sadness as Captain Mitchell and Angela touched the crystal of their Rangers. It was hard to see them like this but they were alive and that's the only hope they had, that and Bridge and Skylar's presence.

It was strange, since they just met them but Bridge and Sky gave them peace, which is why they asked the boys to come with them to see the Rangers and once they got there, Bridge looked at Captain Mitchell with gentle curiosity.

"You are their papa, right?" asked Bridge, confused and Captain Mitchell nodded, as he stood in front of Ryan and Dana's crystal. Bridge nodded and took his gloves off, putting his hand in a way that they could touch the crystals and then looking at Captain Mitchell. "If you take my hand, I can show you their feelings, even in these crystals, they are still there."

Captain Mitchell looked at him, surprised. "How do you know that?"

"I can sense it with my powers and I talk to them," said Bridge with a smile and then he looked down, sadly. "They can't answer me but I want to tell them everything we are doing here so they know we are fighting to bring them back."

Captain Mitchell smiled at Bridge, feeling tears in his eyes and nodding as he took the boy's hand. He felt a hand on his shoulder and Sky stood by their side. "I created a shield around you, it will soften the impact of the emotions, don't worry, sir. I'll keep you safe."

"I see… you two are incredible," said Captain Mitchell. Bridge chuckled and then, he showed the man the memory and image of his son and daughter and most importantly, their feelings towards him. It was at that moment when Captain Mitchell felt the first tear run down his face and then another and another.

Ryan and Dana were right there, waiting for them. They weren't gone. He didn't lose them.

Meanwhile Jake, Conner and Mike took their places beside the crystal of Gia, Kira and Emily while Angela touched Joel's crystal, taking a deep breath before taking a look at the other Rangers.

"Are you sure they are fine?" asked Angela.

"Yes, we have been monitoring the Rangers whose energies we are recovering and while the process is slow, we have noticed that some Rangers are starting to improve," explained Jake with a sigh. "In reality, I was hoping you and Kat Manx could work together improving the system so we can make sure they stay healthy while we do what we need to do."

"Of course," said Angela. "Kat and I were talking about communication between here and our base in Mariner Bay, we are sure we can improve our projects using both this facility and ours on Earth so if you allow it, we can communicate and help you and the Academy as much as possible."

"That's great. I trust you and Kat, so whatever you two need just let me know," said Jake.

Angela nodded as she looked at the Lightspeed Rangers one more time when suddenly, the door opened and Rico walked into the room. He knew it was an important moment for the visitors so he walked towards Jake and whispered something in his ear, making the White Ranger look at him, worried.

"Are you sure?" whispered Jake.

"What's wrong?" asked Mike.

Captain Mitchell and Angela looked at him when Rico nodded and Jake took a deep breath. "There has been an attack in a small settlement on the moon. A little girl has sent a distress signal," explained Jake and then he looked at his visitors with a worried look. "It was Queen Bansheera, Prince Olympus and Diabolico."

"What?"

"Jake, you must go," said Captain Mitchell.

Jake nodded and indicated Bridge to come towards him while Conner walked towards Sky and put a hand on his shoulder. "Skylar, I leave you in charge, understood?"

"Yes, father. Be careful," said Sky and then looked at his uncles. "You too."

"We will, buddy," said Mike with a smile and Jake nodded before looking at his son. "Bridge, make sure our guests feel comfortable while I'm gone, alright?"

"Yes, papa. Don't worry, they will be safe with me and Sky," said Bridge and then he got serious. "But you and my uncles be safe too, please?"

Jake nodded, hugging his son and then, he nodded towards Anubis, leaving the kids in RoboKnight's charge while Kat and Anubis would work with Captain Mitchell and Angela until they could come back. Jake took a deep breath and then he felt Conner and Mike's presence beside him before he raised his morpher.

"Jake?"

Jake looked at Captain Mitchell as the man, despite the fear he felt for the three Rangers, smiled at them, giving them his complete trust. "Good luck."

Jake smiled. "Thank you, sir." he said before activating his morpher. "Let's do this! Lion Ranger! Activate!"

"Firebird Ranger! Activate!" "Wolf Ranger! Activate!"

As soon as the light of their morphers covered them, the Rangers were teleported to their destination, the moon, to defeat their new enemies and, with some luck, find the little girl that sent the distress signal. That girl that, unbeknownst to Mike, will change his life forever.
