Clockwork teleported both him and John to his lair. Laying across a counter were a dozen of weapons; pistols, knives, swords, and axes is all shapes and sizes. John took a closer look and saw they were all glowing green. "What's that?" he asked Clockwork.
"Your weapons are infused with ectoplasm," Clockwork explained. "Despite your wonderful skill in using such weapons, they can't bring down your opponent; not by themselves."
"What about my physical form?" John clarified.
Clockwork placed his staff upon the assassin's head, inducing a ghostly energy into John's entire being. "I've temporarily turned you into a ghost. You'll be able to walk through walls, turn invisible, fly, and use ectoplasmic attacks; all combined with your assassin skills."
John turned around and punched. To his shock, he blasted an ectoplasmic energy beam from his fist! As if he realized the full extent of what he could finally do, he merely nodded. In a matter of seconds, he prepped himself for the fight, strapping and concealing his weapons.
Clockwork looked at John. "Are you ready?" he asked cautiously.
"Yeah," came John's short, but direct answer.
Clockwork floated over to a portal, causing his staff to glow. The scene before them was all but a desolate, ruin filled street of what was once a nice town.
At first, John didn't know what he was looking at. Then, a horrible demonic laugh caught his attention. He looked to his upper right, seeing a tall ghost with fiery hair, blue skin, red eyes, and fangs. The ghost wore a suit which bore a "D" with a "P" in the middle of his chest.
For a microsecond, John hesitated. Then, he was reminded with the rumors of why he was called "The Baba Yaga"; the one who was sent to kill the fucking boogey-man. With his new powers and weapons, he would give this bastard the fight of his life.
John was about to step through, only to be warned by Clockwork. "Be careful, John. He's extremely dangerous."
"So am I." Those three words alone caused Clockwork to gape in shock. It was as if mere words could cut even Dan to his core. Clockwork himself felt a ripple of fear.
For a good ten seconds, Clockwork could only gape speechlessly. Then, he blinked and nodded in acceptance.
Without the slightest ounce of fear, John stepped through the portal, unaware of the utter danger that awaited him.
