Chapter 10: Normies and Monsters

"Guys, I assure you that nobody here is more of a ghost than Mayor Vladdie." Jack reassured the Masters' Blasters, being technically accurate.

"We won't be sure until we scan everybody here, Mr. Fenton." Download replied.

Suddenly, everyone heard an explosion from the laboratory and went there to investigate. They found Danny near the Ghost Portal, which was damaged by Danny's latest attempt to turn it on. For some yet to be explained reason, Danny Fenton's hair now had a white streak. "Danny, what happened?" Maddie asked.

Before Danny had a chance to answer his mother's question, the Masters' Blasters scanned him and confirmed that he's "no ghost". They apologized and left.

"Son, in case you forgot your mother's question, what happened?" Jack asked.

"I went to the Ghost Portal to deactivate my powers, Dad." Danny explained. "I had to protect you and Mom from being arrested."

"Danny, couldn't you have just flown away?" Maddie asked.

"How did you know you wouldn't become a full ghost instead?" Jack asked.

Danny was stunned speechless. "I... I... I didn't think about that, Dad."

Everyone around him facepalmed in confusion. "Mr. and Mrs. Fenton, you can make him Danny Phantom again, can't you?" Sam asked.

"In theory, we can fix the Ghost Portal but we need to make more tests before trying to restore Danny' powers." Jack answered.

"But it already worked before!" Sam argued.

"Just because it worked in both times we know it happened, it doesn't mean it'll work every other time, Sam." Maddie pointed out.

"But what happens when a ghost the Masters' Blasters aren't a match to attack us?" Tucker asked.

"That's precisely the only reason we're ever considering restoring Danny's powers instead of dropping it altogether." Maddie answered.

"Well, I suppose I can resume being a normal kid." Danny suggested. "As normal as I can be when I'm dating a monster, that is."

"Assuming Clawdeen will still want to date you after learning you're no longer a 'monster'." Sam commented, hoping that would be the case.

"If you being completely human doesn't bother her, ask if her sister feels the same!" Tucker eagerly asked.

"Tucker, you know practically nothing about that girl." Sam replied with a glare.

"And she knows practically nothing about me." Tucker said.

"That's why you have a chance with her." Jazz joked.

"True!" Tucker bragged and then realized what Jazz meant. "Hey."

"Anyway, Danny, do you need help telling Clawdeen you're completely human now?" Maddie asked with a hint of worry. Even if she no longer assumed Clawdeen to be evil just because she's a monster, Maddie was worried about how Clawdeen would react.

"Thank you, Mom, but I think you and Dad might scare Clawdeen." Danny answered.

"I can go with you, little brother." Jazz volunteered and Tucker and Sam made similar offers.

The four of them went to the Maul and Jazz was surprised at what she saw. "Wow. If I didn't know we were in a world of monsters, I would think we were in a normal shopping center that was decorated for Halloween." She commented.

The ghoulsquad soon spotted Danny. "There he is!" Clawdeen exclaimed. "But something seems off."

"I know." Cleo agreed. "Who's that red-haired girl with Danny Fenton and his friends?"

"That must be Danny's sister Jasmine." Clawdeen deduced. "He said she was coming as well. It's something else that worries me."

"Anyway, we shouldn't let him wait." Draculaura said and the other ghouls nodded. Even Howleen.

"Hi, Danny." Clawdeen said.

"Hi, Clawdeen." Danny replied.

"Is that Howleen?" Tucker asked while looking at the other werewolf in the group.

"Yes, I am Howleen Wolf." Howleen introduced herself.

"In that case, I'm Tucker Foley." He eagerly said. "TF as in Too Fine."

"More like TD as in Too Desperate." Howleen replied, making Tucker frown.

"Anyway, I can feel something' different with you, Danny." Clawdeen said. "What happened?"

Danny then explained the events that led him to losing his ghost powers. "Wait. How come you didn't know you wouldn't become a full ghost instead of becoming a normie again?" She asked.

"I wasn't thinking straight." Danny confessed.

"Anyway, you became a half-ghost before so you can do it again, right?" Frankie asked.

"My parents are doing some exams to prevent side-effects." Danny answered.

"So, what happens now?" Clawdeen asked.

"Assuming you don't have any problem dating a normie, you won't have to worry about me ditching a date to fight ghosts but will have to worry about me not being able to arrive here as easily as before." Danny answered. "I needed my sister to drive us here."

"Hi, I'm Jasmine Fenton." Jazz nervously introduced herself. "Jazz for short."

"Nice to meet you too, Jazz." Clawdeen replied.

"BEWARE!" The Box Ghost said, shocking everyone. "I am carrying stuff I need for the Lunch Lady Ghost's deathday party."

"Awwwww." Draculaura said. "So romantic!"

"Ewwwwwwww." Team Phantom said.

"What's wrong?" Lagoona asked, not knowing about Box Lunch.

"Uh, never mind." Sam quickly replied.

"I wonder what their future will be." Spectra Vondergeist commented, thinking of the Box Ghost and the Lunch Lady Ghost.

"They'll have a daughter named Box Lunch." Tucker commented, making Danny and Sam glare at him.

"How do you know that?" Frankie asked in confusion. Her ghoulfriends felt the same but didn't say anything.

"Just a guess." Tucker lied, not wanting to mention the time travel or Danny's evil future self.

The ghouls found it suspicious but decided not to keep discussing it. "Danny, I know how you feel about not understanding zombies so I've brought something to help you." Clawdeen said as she produced a book. "I hope it helps you."

"Thank you, Clawdeen." Danny replied, accepting the book.

"You're welcome, Danny." Clawdeen said. "Now, I had planned to take you to a restaurant but, now that you're a normie again, I'm not sure how you'll react to monster food."

"Thank you, Clawdeen." Danny replied.

"Well, we still have fruits and vegetables that normies eat as well." Draculaura suggested. "Those carrots are delicious once you get used to them."

"I still prefer actual oranges." Cleo replied.

"What do you mean by 'actual' oranges?" Tucker asked and Clawdeen explained about an incident at Monster High's cafeteria.

"Let me see if I got it right." Danny said. "You guys believed carrots were oranges?"

"Most monsters prefer meat." Lagoona explained.

"Can't blame them." Tucker said.

"Hey, ghouls!" Spectra Vondergeist suddenly said as she showed up. Danny was secretly sad his ghost sense didn't warn him of her presence. "Have you looked at the news?"

"What happened?" Draculaura asked in worry.

"An asteroid is going to crash on Earth!" Spectra said while showing the news at her iCoffin.

Terrified, Tucker looked for the asteroid at his PDA. "Wow! They're calling it the Disasteroid!" Tucker exclaimed.

Looking around, they noticed practically every other monster was just as horrified. "Oh, right." Jazz noticed. "The Monster World is also part of Earth."

Since there was no mood for dating with those news, all normies at the Maul returned to Amity Park. At first, the Government tried to destroy he Disasteroid but their efforts failed. With financial aid from Vlad Masters, Jack Fenton built a rocket to go after the Disasteroid. The two of them, along with Danny and two astronauts, went into outer space to destroy the Disasteroid.

"V-Man, it was a good thing I had Tucker double-check the coordinates you sent me or we'd have failed." Jack commented while the astronauts celebrated.

Upon looking at some fragments of the Disasteroid, Danny had an idea. "How about we take one of the pieces back home? Who knows what we can learn from it?" He suggested.

Seeing no harm, the others accepted the suggestion. "Danny, what's going on?" Jack asked his son.

"Dad, I believe this rock is made of Ecto-ranium." Danny answered.

Jack smiled, understanding what Danny was planning.

As they arrived back to Earth, they found themselves surrounded by reporters. "Mr. Fenton, is it true that you crew brought a piece of the Disasteroid? Harriet Chin asked.

"Yes, Harry!" Jack happily replied, oblivious to how Harriet felt about being called "Harry". "Here it is! How about a group photo of all of us holding it?"

As practically everyone approved the idea, Jack positioned the rock in a way Danny, Vlad and the astronauts could hold it as well. However, Vlad got a literal shock as he touched it. "How odd. Only ghosts have this reaction upon touching Ecto-ranium." Jack commented, feigning surprise.

"A ghost must be overshadowing the Mayor!" Maddie exclaimed as she produced her Ghost Gauntlets. "I'll remove it from him!"

As Vlad was recovering from the fact the Disasteroid as made of Ecto-ranium, he didn't stop Maddie from removing his ghostly half, which Jazz then sucked into a Fenton Thermos. Jack then placed Vlad's hand on the Ecto-ranium rock. "He's free!" He exclaimed and everyone cheered.

"Yes, thank you, Fentons." Vlad said, being aware that he had to play along. "So, Jack, why don't you let my Blasters handle that ghost from now on?" Vlad asked, oblivious to the fact Jack already knew the truth.

"Sorry, V-Man." Jack replied. "We're keeping it for experiments. And for safety since, for all we know, this putrid ghost is the reason you sent wrong data instead of it being some honest mistake."

"In that case, I'm going home." Vlad said. "I had too much for a day."

"Bye bye, V-Man." Jack said.

Meanwhile, at Monster High, several monsters were celebrating that their world was saved. "Go, Fenton! Go, Fenton! Hooray!" The fearsquad chanted. After enough celebrating, Clawdeen made a phone call.

"Clawdeen?" Danny asked.

"Danny, we were so relieved when we watched the world being saved." Clawdeen commented.

"We humans also celebrated, Clawdeen." Danny replied. "Not to mention that we depowered Plasmius!"

"From what I understood, Vlad's normie self will get away with his ghostly crimes by making it seem like his ghostly self was overshadowing him and he still has his fortune." Clawdeen stated. "Aren't you worried?"

"Yes but, one victory at a time." Danny replied. "Hopefully Plasmius took the craziness leaving human Vlad a sane person who will leave my family alone." He said, remembering the Vlad he met in the bad future where he met his dark self.

Back at his Amity Park Manor, Vlad was thinking over the latest developments. "The Disasteroid was made of Ecto-ranium!" The seriously crazed up fruitloop exclaimed in horror. "Had Fenton failed to destroy the Disasteroid, my plan to become Emperor of the world would have doomed it! And now I no longer have my ghost powers! For now."

He then heard some noises coming from the kitchen and went there to investigate. Going there, he found his ghost vultures helping themselves to his food. "What're you doing?" He angrily asked them.

"We're having a snack." Their leader bluntly replied.

"Forget about that." He ordered. "I have a task for you."

"Forget it!" Another vulture said. "Without powers, you're no longer our boss."

"Oh, yeah?" Vlad asked and then electrocuted them with a weapon, making them unable to resist being sucked into a copy of a Fenton Thermos. "I'll deal with you later. Now, who do I call?"
