Chapter 12: Birthday

Danny was wondering what to do for his birthday. Inviting Clawdeen to a party at Fentonworks would risk exposure and his friends wouldn't necessarily be granted permission to go with him to Oregon regardless of their parents knowing or not they were going to a place full of monsters.

"Danny, how about telling people it's a costume party?" Jack suggested.

"Regardless of how the monsters feel about it, there's still the possibility of Dash Baxter showing up and identifying Clawdeen as a monster, Dad." Danny replied.

"Do monsters even eat the same foods humans do?" Maddie asked out of concern. She's somewhat afraid Clawdeen and some of her friends might want to eat people.

"While monsters eat things I don't think it's healthy for humans to eat, they do eat stuff meant for human consumption as well, Mom." Danny answered.

"Little brother, can you go to the Monster World through the Ghost Zone?" Jazz asked.

"I've once brought this up with Clawdeen and she said that, while it's theorically possible, she doesn't think there's a ghost who knows the way because those who appear at the Monster World don't need our family's portal or Vlad's to reach our world." Danny explained.

"Wait a minute!" Jazz exclaimed. "What about Medusa?"

"Deuce's Mom?" Danny asked in confusion.

"Wait, that Medusa-like monster is her son?" Jack asked in shock.

"Yes, Dad." Danny answered. "Anyway, Jazz, why did you bring her up?"

"You mentioned meeting her when you went to meet Pandora after the Box Ghost stole her box." Jazz pointed out. "We would know if she used our portal every time she went to Monster High to visit Deuce."

"Jazz, you have a point." Danny happily replied.

Time skip to the party

Through the ghost portal, Danny brought his girlfriend Clawdeen, her brother Clawd, and Clawd's girlfriend Draculaura. "That Specter Speeder is a nice ride." Clawdeen commented.

"Thank you." Jack replied with a grin. He accepted compliments no matter where they came from.

Medusa then came out of the portal. "Message from Dracula. If anything happens to his daughter, you won't like to know what he'll do."

"Should we be concerned?" Maddie asked Draculaura.

"For the record, he's no vegetarian." Draculaura replied, making everyone in the room literally worried about their necks.

"Don't forget me, cuz." Dani said as she showed up through the portal. "Mr. Hackington gave me the okay to come."

"Well, I'm not used to normie parties." Clawdeen said. "Do I give the gift now?"

Maddie pointed at a table. "The gifts are to be placed there, Clawdeen."

"Thank you, Mrs. Fenton." Clawdeen replied as she followed Maddie's instructions.

Tucker and Sam then arrived. "Okay, why weren't Clawdeen and Dani the only monsters to come?" Sam asked.

"I came here to watch over my sister." Clawd said.

"I came here as Clawd's plus one." Draculaura added.

As Danny's human friends placed their gifts on the table, they noticed the one placed there by Clawdeen. "Zomby Gaga?" Sam asked.

"Does she call her fans 'little normies'?" Tucker asked and laughed.

"I don't wanna know." Sam answered.

"So, is anybody else coming for the party?" Jack asked the monsters.

"Not from our side, Mr. Fenton." Clawdeen answered.

"Alright, let's start the party!" Jack said.

"Uh, won't you wait for the other normie guests?" Draculaura asked.

"All of us already arrived, Draculaura." Tucker answered.

"Afraid your other normie friends won't accept us?" Clawd asked with an accusing tone.

"No." Danny sadly answered.

"Then why didn't you invite..." Clawdeen started asking when realization struck her. "Oh."

"Never mind that." Tucker said. "Where're the hot dogs?"

"Over there, Tucker." Jack answered.

"And don't worry, Sam." Maddie said. "We've brought tofu dogs as well."

"Yay!" Draculaura exclaimed.

"Is she really Dracula's daughter?" Jack asked, surprised by the idea of a vegetarian vampire.

"By the way, Sam, Tucker, Medusa said we won't like to know what he'll do if something happens to her." Danny warned his friends.

"You had to want monsters to be the evil creatures from classical movies instead of the valley girls and cheerleaders Clawdeen and her friends turned out to be, hadn't you?" Tucker asked Sam with a glare.

"I'm relieved and scared at the same time." Sam replied.

Jazz couldn't help but notice how reluctant Draculaura was regarding the tomato slices. "What's wrong?" Jazz asked the vampire.

"The last time I ate a tomato in the normie world, some normies showed up and mistook he tomato sauce for..." Draculaura was reluctant about finishing that sentence.

"I see." Jazz somberly replied.

"Don't worry." Jack reassured Draculaura. "We all know about the tomatoes now."

"O-okay." Draculaura reluctantly replied and ate a tomato slice.

To everyone's surprise, someone rang the doorbell. "I thought we weren't expecting anyone else." Jack commented while Draculaura hid under a table out of fear humans would go after her for the tomato.

Maddie answered the door and found Paulina Sanchez. "What's she doing here?" Sam asked with a frown.

"I've heard it was Fenton's birthday and figured out his monster girlfriend would be here." Paulina answered.

"What do you want with me?" Clawdeen asked.

"My name is Paulina Sanchez and I have to questions: does my ghost boy attend your school?" Paulina asked. "If so, how do I enroll?"

"Danny Phantom's not your ghost boy, Paulina." Danny said.

"Mind your own business, loser." Paulina replied.

"Danny Phantom isn't a student there." Clawdeen said. "And your parents could talk to Headless Headmistress Bloodgood at Monster High in New Salem, Oregon if you still want to enroll."

"Whatever." Paulina rudely said and left.

"She doesn't know, right?" Clawdeen asked.

"Right." Danny reassured his girlfriend.

"Good boy." Clawdeen replied and gave Danny a kiss.

'I hope she didn't bite him.' Maddie thought in worry.

"Atta boy, Danny!" Jack exclaimed.

"Jealous, Sam." Tucker asked his goth friend.

"Envious, Tucker?" Sam asked back.

"Touché." Tucker sadly replied.

"My little brother is growing up." Jazz commented.

"Now Clawdeen cannot complain whenever Clawd and I kiss." Draculaura said.

"Don't count on it, ghoulfriend." Clawdeen replied.

"Ugh." Sam said as she was trying to hide her disgust.

"Clawdeen, we could take Danny and Clawd on a double date." Draculaura suggested.

"Let's discuss it later." Clawdeen replied.

After the party ended, Danny took the monsters on the Specter Speeder back to the Monster World. "Thanks for the ride, Danny." Clawdeen said.

"You're welcome." Clawdeen replied and Danny left.

"Do you think he'll like Zomby Gaga?" Draculaura asked.

"I hope so, Draculaura." Clawdeen replied.

"I still think he'll like the Casta Fierce CD better even if she can't turn anyone into animals through recordings." Clawd commented.

"Clawd, I believe Danny will find it better this way." Clawdeen replied.

Meanwhile, Operatives O and K reported to Agent Alpha. "Are the both of you positive no monster showed up for Danny Fenton's birthday?" Agent Alpha asked.

"Affirmative, Sir." They answered.

"They must have entered through the Fentons' ghost portal." Agent Alpha accurately deduced. "Fortunately, we've managed to transfer Vlad Masters' ghost portal to our headquarters."

"So we'll resume the plan to destroy the Ghost Zone?" Operative O eagerly asked.

"Negative." Agent Alpha answered. "Now that we know the Monster World exists, we mustn't risk a retaliation. We will instead watch the Fentons' portal from the Ghost Zone's side."
