Liadan had her best dress on. She also had on her better trenchcoat and Fedora. Not her best though those articles of clothing were reserved for receiving awards. She is sitting in the corner seat of the restaurant able to survey the entire establishment. A boy appeared looking around. She waved him over.
"I am Liadan" Said the detective
"I am Jack." Said the boy
Liadan looks him up and down. He was wearing black pants and a very boring polo shirt. They look incredibly stiff. He looks like his mother dressed him. He sat down and looking at her.
"So you are the detective." Said Jack
"Yes I am." Said Liadan
" did you attack my brother and take his bike?" Said Jack
"No" Said Liadan denying everything like Lupa. That sister and some more are watch her for the bar. They are Luxury, Liy and LeeLee are sitting there.
"It looks like he has a corn field of starch in his clothing. Whoever did the laundry must be abysmal." Said Luxury
"Looks like he got boards in his pants." Said Lupa
"Um it's probably hard to move" Said LeeLee
" shush. let's eavesdrop" Said Liy
"So your mom is a cop." Said Liadan
"Yes she is the sheriff." Said Jack
"And you have two other brothers. Both on the football team." Said Liadan
"Yes I do. You know a lot about my family" Said Jack
"Ya I am a detective." Said Liadan
"So you like detective drama." Said Jack
" I like crime noir" Said Liadan
"Um" mumbled Jack
"What" Said Liadan
"I don't like those old black-and-white movies." Said Jack
Liadan looks at Jack.
"So why do you like goth girls? Do you like dark women but have a crippling fear of minorities?" Said Liadan
" nothing like that. I want to save them." Said Jack
"from what." Said Liadan
"The Devil" Said Jack
"Oh we're not going to change. But if you want to talk about religion. Or do any of proselytizing. I better get someone who can do it back at you. LeeLee come over here." Said Liadan
She suddenly appeared from the bar.
"You want to talk about religion. Oh boy. you said something about saving her from the devil I need to save you from yourself. You're going to want to be buried with one of these." Said LeeLee handing him a copy of the book of the dead.
"what is this." Said Jack
"is the book of the dead. It's a kind of a guidebook. Get you through the afterlife so you don't get killed before meeting Anubis. So he can weigh your heart and see if you're evil." Said LeeLee
"Oh um. What are you talking about?" Said Jack
"The after life. Obviously" said LeeLee
"Oh is this a devil worshiping thing?" Said Jack
"No The old gods of Egypt. Set is kind of like a devil though. Don't worry I worship with him though." Said LeeLee
"Oh i'm confused. does that make you some sort of pagan?" Said Jack
"technically I think she is. She's always been very into ancient Egyptian stuff." Said Liadan
"I was conceived in a sarcophagus." Said LeeLee
"That is kind of creepy." Said Jake
"Oh our parents are very creepy." Said Lupa.
"Let's get going." Said Liadan
"if you want any other writing. I have them." Said LeeLee
They then left the restaurant leaving Jake confused.
