Chapter 2: Meeting the grandmas
From the last Chapter Octavia and her step dad and step sister were picked up by Blitzos adopted mother Beth as she drove to a beautiful japanese style row house area as Beth stopped her car as Loona and Blitzo were in awe as Octavia was curious but also in awe as the group then got there bags as they went through a small garden area as Blitzo smiled happy to be in his childhood home "It hasn't changed one bit since I was a kid" said Blitzo "really? I guess I have to admit" said Loona looking around as Octavia unused to such old fashion buildings just didnt know what to say "Looks…old" she said "That's what makes it special" he said as he went ahead as a voice spoke up "Blitzo" said a female voices Loona and Octavia looked at the open door revealing a beautiful human like figure in a green kimono, but she wasnt truly a human as shown by her ears and tails that were fox like, her name is Bella, Beths wife "Mama" said Blitzo as he put down the suit case as Loona smiled "Grandma" she said walking up with her stuff "Long time no see" said Bella "Sorry sorry I have been bad at keeping touch with you and mama Beth, you look great how are you doing?" said Blitzo "Your mother and I have been taking it easy, oh your furniture has arrived but all three of you take your time unpacking" she said "Oh sorry for the trouble ma" said Blitzo as Loona and Octavia stepped up.
"Hi Grandma Bella, its good to see you again" said Loona "Same here Loona and look at you *Gently ruffles her fur* getting more lovely each day" said Bella as Loona blushed "And Blitzo its no trouble at all all the movers did all the work, I even asked for there help to haul out some of our old junk to sell" said Bella "Well I am still sorry I wasnt around to help you out *Turns to Octavia who was looking around and gestures to her to come over* thank you for letting me, Loona and my new daughter Octavia stay here, this is Octavia my new daughter" said Blitzo as Bella smiled "Octavia, well are you a pretty young thing I bet just like your birth father" said Bella gently as Octavia hummed a bit but Loona gently coaxed her to respond "Nice to meet you" she said softly "Nice to meet you as well, come in come in now make yourself comfortable this is your new home now" said Bella "Of corurse thank you" said Blitzo as he picked up his luggage "Thanks again grandma" said Loona grabbing her luggage as well as the threesome stepped in but octavia was curious "Which on is ours?" She asked as she saw there was two homes "This one, its big enough for all three of us and each of you will get your own room, though I may need to educate you on Japanese living, Mama Beth and Mama Bella live in the other house" said Blitzo as he and Loona entered the home "Come on lets look around" she said "In a minute" said Octavia as the hellhound went ahead as the owl demon looked around.
The japanese garden was beautiful and diffrent from pride and the big city that she and her…dad and sister lived in, but she wont deny how cozy was as she entered the house as she sat down as Beth got drinks for the threesome "So what is up with that odd bridge we passed by on the way?" Asked Blitzo recalling a unfinished bridge they passed by as Octavia took a sip of her drink "It looks like its gonna be enormous" said Loona "Yup the opening is in September" said Beth stripping into a pair of shorts and a sleeveless white top due to the head "That should make traveling a bit easier" said Blitzo as Beth shrugged "Meh I dont know if its ultamitly a good thing *Grabs a cigurette* it may cause more people to pass through her *makes a small flame* I just hope it dosent mess up the island" she said as Blitzo looked down a bit "You may have a point ma" he said as Beth was ready to light her cigarette but put out the flame "Oh Blitz are you still having those Asthma attacks?" She asked as Octavia got curious as she didnt know "Dont worry ma I have it under control, even Loona knows" said Blitzo "I am not a chain smoker, just on occasion and I make sure its outside so its ok for you to smoke if you want" said Loona as Beth offered a cigarette and lighter "When your dad was a little boy me and Bella moved here because the ocean air was good for his lungs, more so how they got damaged after the fire that took your grandma Tilla and grandpa Crash's life causing him to have asthma, betcha you didnt know that" said Beth as Bella gently took her hand as she looked at her son "You said you wanted to work right away correct? But what are you gonna do with your condo in pride city?" Asked Bella "Oh I sold it, Assago and Asmodus had offered that we can live with them, but its fine plus I think we needed a change of scenery, though I think I could had rented it out to someone but I didnt want the extra burden" said Blitzo "I see now" said Bella "Well I guess its best to keep things simple at times, besides it would be a nice change of pace having the three of you here everyone else here is boring" said Beth earning a laugh from Bella, Blitzo and Loona a bit "Most of the neighbors on the island are a bit older, but I am sure there are a few handsome men and ladies for you to play with Loona" she said cheeky as the hellhound snickered "Grandma Bella" she said "Oh you mom" said Blitzo as Octavia just listened in silence as they talked but those thoughts were interrupted as a handsome incubus male ran past them "Mail run *Eyes narrowed and widdened* wait Blitzo is that you?" He asked as Blitzo studied him and realized "No way? Marcus is that you?" He asked happily "Its been forever I heard from sis that you were coming back, I am glad I ran into you you look amazing" said Marcus (AN: For readers purpose he is the fella Stolas kissed with the "Better then blitzo" shirt from "Apology tour" I just gave him the name Marcus) "I heard from Verkrosia you married that lovely trans Goitia Kiara who left the goitia family to start a buisness" said Blitzo as Marcus gave the mail to Bella "I didnt know you were the type to be pan when your twin is bi" said Loona "Ah well Incubus like me are not afraid to go for all types and Kiara started a bakery for her awsome ninja cooking and I retired from being a model to help with both mail and bakery delivery after I broke up with Mur for cheating with me and learned Kiara is more healthy for me *Sees Octavia* oh is this Stolas little girl?" He asked "This is Octavia" he said as Marcus nodded "Marcus *Shows the letter* this mail isnt mine its next doors you keep mixing them up" she said as Marcus scratched a cheek and took it "Sorry about that sill learning how to read Kaji, and whoops it means I gave him your mail" he said "And who were you modeling for? Was it Asmodus?" Asked Blitzo "Yes, though for a while before I hit puberty and well lost a bit of weight I had to help with delivering mail around his building" he said as that made the group laugh minus Octavia as Bella gave him the mail "Ok I'll get it right see you in a bit" he said running off "I sware he hasn't change since I dated his sister for a while before she founded a better fit with my sister" said Blitzo chuckling as he saw the clock
"Is the clock broken?" He asked curious "Yeah it just suddenly stopped sometime this spring, a shame I took it to the shop but they couldent fix it we just got use to having it up there we just left it there seeing there was no need to take it down" said Beth as Blitzo nodded "I see" he muttered "If it bothers any of you we can take it down" said Beth as Bella looked at Octavia "Octavia dear would you help me move something we have to go above" said Bella as the owl was confused "Above?" She wondered
Minutes later Bella revealed a ladder to the attic area as she stepped down after opening the door to the second floor as Octavia helped carried up a bag "Honesty at times it feels like I am practically in the clouds" she said as Octavia, curious stepped up the stairs "Come on up now" said Bella as Tia did so carefully to not trip as she got to the second floor "Told you it was high" said Bella which it was as Octavia looked around at the various items in the attic as Bella scratched a cheek "I know it is a disaster isnt it? Its my fault being centuries old as a yokai I didnt want to throw away much of this stuff, same with Beth since some of it belonged to my great grandfather" she said with a chuckle as Octavia half listened as she was just so curious as she never seen such a place far diffrent then her old manor home "Octavia can you grab that bag please and bring it over here" asked Bella as she carried a few boxes as Octavia did as the fox placed the boxes down as Octavias eyes caught on a weird package on a desk "Thank you very much" she said as Octavia got close to the box and saw it was tied with a purple string and had orange flowers.
"Oh you got quite the eye *Turns to Bella* go ahead open it" said Bella as Octavia gently untied it and lifted the lid finding a old book with words in kanji with a strange long necked demon on the front "Flip through it, its spooky but interesting" said Bella as Octavia…well she had to agree and she enjoys collecting Taxidermy animals as she carefully picked up the book due to how old it was and saw it had images of odd creatures so diffrent then the hellborns of hell and one or two drawing of a fox like Bellas form "Its a very old picture book there are many more My great uncle on my moms side father collected them *Octavia turns until she stops at a page of people fleeing from a fox like yokai, a oni holding a sword, a turtle with a fishing pole, a bear with a ax like a lumberjack and a dragon* we have tons of those if you are curious and want to learn about youkai" said Bella as Octavia felt a weird liking to the page she was reading never seen such a fox with a odd necklace of beads or hellborn…no yokai that follow the odd fox "The one you are reading is very rare, if you like to, you can come up to read if you want at anytime" said Bella as Octavia gently closed the booklet.
It does sound interesting, but maybe not now…if ever as she puts the booklet away and closed the books "Glad at least I didnt have to make two trips, careful going down its steep I swear this house is so high up the air feels thinner at times" she muttered as Octavia ran to her adopted grandma to follow her but took one last look at the box 'maybe' she thought as she followed down and closed the door to the attic and turned off the lights.
However unknown to her the weird droplets that fell on Octavia had followed her to the attic and were slithering up the desk and then slipped into the box one by one.
Authors note: Well that is meeting the family and Octavia is slowly adjusting…slowly but she seems curious about the booklets Bellas great uncle collected
Next chapter Blitzo has to continue his teachings to get his degree to be a teacher as Loona goes to town to look for a job leaving Octavia alone in the house…or sort off due to 5 odd yokai…
