Prologue
Author notes. I don't own the Pokémon or Naruto series.
We see two people walking through the forest. One is an older gentleman in a red shirt, khaki pants, and a lab coat. This is Professor Oak. The other is his assistant and granddaughter, Daisy. She is wearing a green dress with a lab coat over it. "Professor, we have been here a week and haven't seen any pokémon. Maybe I should send Pidgeotto out to look for a town?" asked Daisy with concern. "That is a promising idea, Daisy" responded Professor Oak. Suddenly three people surrounded them. All three are wearing hooded black cloaks and porcelain masks. One had a cat face painted on it, the next had a weasel, the last was a boar. "Halt! This is a restricted area. What are you doing here?" said the one in the cat mask. "Wah! Professor, where did they come from?" shrieked Daisy. "I don't know Daisy. I'm sorry. We were not aware of any off-limit areas. We are not from this continent. My name is Samuel Oak. I'm a pokémon professor and this is my assistant Daisy. Who might you three be?" Professor Oak answered and asked. The cat masked individual whistled then a fourth figure in a white cloak with a dog mask landed in front of them. "We are what is called Anbu. You can call me Dog. These are Cat, Weasel, and Boar. Follow me, I will take you to our leader, the Hokage." said Dog. "Cat, Weasel, Boar back to our patrol." commanded Dog.
Professor Oak and Daisy were shocked at the huge gate leading into the village of Konohagakure. Looking around they still don't see any pokémon like they would see in any of the cities or town back home. They are led into a large building with the symbol for fire on it. On the top floor in a spacious office sitting behind a large wooden desk is the Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. "Dog, who is this with you? And why did you bring them here?" asked Sarutobi. "This is Professor Samuel Oak and is assistant Daisy. They claim to be from another continent. And are search of something called a pokémon." responded Dog. "Thank you, Dog, return to your team. Your dismissed." said Sarutobi. "Now then you said are from a different continent also, what are pokémon?" asked Sarutobi. "I will be happy to explain." said Professor Oak. He then explained about the different continents and what pokémon are. "Now let us show you a couple of the pokémon we have with us. Daisy, can you release two of your pokémon?" said Professor Oak. "Sure Professor." answered Daisy. She then pulled out two of her pokeballs and held them up to show the Hokage. "These are pokeballs. They are used to capture and transport pokémon." said Daisy. She tossed them into the air. They opened releasing Pidgeotto and Growlithe. After a little while Daisy recalled her pokémon then asked, "So have you seen any pokémon on this continent and what is it like here?" After seeing a couple pokémon Sarutobi knew that there were not any pokémon in the Elemental Nations and told them. Hiruzen sat back and listened intently. After they finished explaining he began telling them about the Elemental Nations and about the Shinobi system. Afterwards Sarutobi put Professor Oak and Daisy up in a hotel room for a couple of days to let them rest before returning to their ship to go home.
The next day Daisy went out into the village to see what it was like. While the Professor went to the academy to learn more about the history of village and the Elemental Nations. As Daisy walked by the end of an alley, she heard what sounded like someone being beaten. Her suspicions were confirmed when she hears a gasp of pain. She quickly went to see if she could help the person being attacked. When she got there what she saw horrified her. There was a group of 5 men kicking and hitting a young child no older than six. He was lying on the ground covering his head while crying out in pain with each blow. "Growlithe use Roar." Daisy shouted as she released her pokémon. As Growlithe roared the group of men jump back startled at the voice and loud animalist sound. "What are you doing to that poor child?" yelled Daisy. After the men get their wits about them. One of them steps forward and said, "I can tell you're not from around here so let me tell you this is no kid. It's a demon in disguise, so we are teaching it a lesson." Both Daisy and Growlithe growled at the man for that statement. "You guys' better leave before we are forced to hurt you." said Daisy. The men just laughed and said, "What are you and that mutt going to do about it?" "Growlithe use Flame Wheel." said Daisy. Growlithe coats itself in fire and starts spinning like a wheel while charging right at the men. They scream in fear while running away. "Good job Growlithe return." said Daisy.
She quickly walked up to the child and crouched down. The kid weakly said with a sob, "Please don't hurt me. I haven't done anything wrong." Daisy softly says, "It's alright I won't hurt you. I'm going to release a pokémon that can heal you so please don't be scared." She quickly released Chansey. "Chansey please use Healing Pulse." Daisy said Chansey. After a couple of minutes, the kid's wounds were healed. "Now what's your name little one and how old are you? My name is Daisy. Where are your parents?" Daisy gently asked. "Thank you for helping me, miss Daisy. My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I'm five. I'm an orphan." Naruto answered. Daisy looked at him with sadness in her eyes and pulls him into a gentle hug as she said, "Let's get you back to the orphanage you live in then." As Naruto is pulled into the hug he stiffens for a moment. He relaxes and hugs her back as he hears her speak. He starts to cry as he says "They kick me out of the orphanage yesterday. They said I was old enough to take care of myself and not to come back." Daisy was furious. "How could they do that to a child? Maybe the Hokage can do something about this?" thought Daisy. "Let's go to see the Hokage maybe he can help?" Said Daisy. Naruto breaks the hug and asks "You know Jiji? I was going to go see him when they attack me." Daisy shock that the Hokage is Naruto's grandfather. "If he's your Jiji, why did you live in the orphanage?" Asked Daisy. "Well, he isn't really my Jiji. But he is the closest thing I got to family." Said Naruto. Daisy nodded in understanding as they started walking to the Hokage's tower.
As they get closer Daisy sees her grandfather walking down the street. "Gramps over here!" she yelled out to him. Professor Oak looks up and sees Daisy. She is walking with a little kid and walks over. "Hello Daisy. Who is this? asked the professor. "This is Naruto. Naruto this is my grandfather Professor Samuel Oak." Introduced Daisy. Then she explains what was going on. Professor Oak is angry and saddened at the same time after she was done explaining. "I hope you don't mind if I join you on your trip to see the Hokage." Said the Professor. Naruto spoke up saying "Not at all. The more the merrier." Daisy and the Professor laugh as they continue their walk to see the Hokage. They arrive at the Hokage's office and knock on the door. "Enter." Called Sarutobi. Naruto rushed in yelling, "Jiji." As he hugs the Hokage. Sarutobi hugs him back and asked, "What are you doing here Naruto-Kun?" Naruto looked down sadly and said, "I was attacked again but miss Daisy helped me. She wanted to talk to you about what happened." Sarutobi looked up to see who else came in with Naruto. "So, he was attacked again? Thank you for helping him. What did you want to talk about?" asked Sarutobi. "He needed help. What I want to know is why they attacked him in the first place. He is a good kid and doesn't deserve it." Said Daisy. Sarutobi sighed saying "I will explain why the villagers hate him. It's also about time I told Naruto here some information I have been keeping from him till I thought he was ready." "What do you mean Jiji? What haven't you told me?" asked Naruto. Sarutobi told them the whole story about the Kyuubi. "So, the Fourth Hokage sealed the Kyuubi into me. So, I am a demon like they claim." Naruto said as he started to cry. "No! You're not the Kyuubi Naruto. You are just the prison to keep it from attacking the village again." Daisy said loudly, surprising everyone else in the room as she pulled Naruto into a hug.
"Well Naruto let's get you back to the orphanage." said Sarutobi. "They kicked him out yesterday. He was on his way here when he was attacked." said Daisy. Sarutobi was furious at hearing this. "Well Naruto I will find you an apartment to live in." Sarutobi said with a sigh. "I have an idea how about I adopt him? It's obvious the people in this village won't see him as a hero." Daisy said. Naruto's eyes widened saying "You want to adopt me? Really?" "Yes, Naruto I do want to." replied Daisy. "Jiji, can she adopt me? Well, Jiji can she?" asked Naruto excitedly. "I don't see why not. But Daisy and Professor Oak don't live in this village or even on this continent. And they don't have ninjas where they live. So, you would have to give up on being a ninja if you went with them." Sarutobi said. "If they don't live in the village and no one can train me to be a ninja, how can I become the Hokage?" asked Naruto. "If you go with them, you won't be able to be Hokage because you won't be a ninja. But if you stay here, you can be a ninja, but Daisy won't be able to adopt you." Said Sarutobi. Naruto looked torn he wanted to be adopted but he also wanted to be Hokage. "Well how about Daisy adopts him and you send someone with us to train him and to learn about where we come from? Till it's time for Naruto here, would have graduated from the academy? This way he can be raised away from all the hate but not give up his dream?" Professor Oak asked. "That's an interesting idea. But who to send with you. That is the question." answered Sarutobi. "How about Hana-Chan?" asked Naruto. "Who Naruto" Asked Sarutobi. "Hana Inuzuka she is always nice to me. She is also super strong just like Itachi-Niichan." Naruto said. "Hmm an interesting idea. But for a mission that long. She would have to volunteer and have permission from her clan head Tsume Inuzuka who is also her mother." responded Sarutobi. "Well, we can ask them. Right Jiji?" Naruto enthusiastically asked. "Mantis, can you go and get Tsume and Hana Inuzuka?" asked Sarutobi. "Hai Hokage-Sama." answered Mantis.
A little while later there was a knock at the door. "Enter." called Sarutobi. Tsume and Hana enter with their ninken. "You wanted to see us Hokage-Sama?" asked Tsume. "Yes, I have a long-term mission for Hana if she accepts it." said Sarutobi. He then explained the situation and about Professor Oak and Daisy. "Tsume since Hana is the clan heir we need your permission for her to take this mission. The mission will be an eight-year long mission. She is to train Naruto and learn what she can about the other continent as well" said Sarutobi. "Hmm, what do you think Hana?" asked Tsume. "It sounds like an interesting experience, but why was I picked Hokage-Sama?" asked Hana. "Naruto suggested you. He said you are super strong, and you are always nice to him. The reason I agreed is the fact that you graduated early, already have experience with handling animals, and Naruto would like to have someone that he trusts to train him." said Sarutobi. Hana blushed and hugged Naruto while asking, "Did you really say all that Naruto-Kun?" Naruto hugged her back and answered, "Hai, Hana-Chan." "Then I will take the mission. But since we will be on a different continent how will we be able to communicate for status reports and what not?" asked Hana. Professor Oak then pulled out a handheld device and handed it to the Hokage. "This is a pokégear. It has several functions, but the relevant one is it can let us communicate back and forth called a phone." said Professor Oak. "With that settled when do we leave?" asked Hana. "We're leaving tomorrow morning at eight and it's a two-day walk to where we are meeting our ship." said Daisy. "You're dismissed Tsume." said Sarutobi. "Was there something else Hokage-Sama?" asked Hana. "Yes Hana, but it's some secrets I've been keeping from Naruto. You would learn them on this mission so you might as well hear it now." said Sarutobi. "Me Jiji?" asked Naruto. Sarutobi told them about Naruto's parents Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki and his burden of being the jinchuriki of the Kyuubi. He also gives Daisy a scroll containing Naruto's inheritance. The next morning was an emotional goodbye for Naruto, Hana, Tsume, and Sarutobi because it will be eight long years till they see their loved ones again.
