The Wondrous World of Pokémon! A world filled with mysterious creatures known as Pokémon, who come in all shapes and sizes. They live everywhere imaginable. On the land, in the seas and skies, and some even come from outer space. These creatures can bond with humans thanks to the special capture devices known as Pokéballs. Those who use Pokémon for battle are known as Pokémon Trainers. After conquering Mt. Moon, Silver catching an Onix and Blue's Eevee learning a new move, our heroes were finally able to get past the treacherous cavern and make it to Basalt City. And for the past 7 days, Latrell, Silver, and Fiore have been helping Blue train for the Contest, now, the day of the Basalt City Contest has arrived, and Blue is making some final preparations.
With Blue and Latrell on a battlefield behind the Pokémon Center in a Training Battle with Eevee and Grookey respectively
Latrell: Grookey! Razor Leaf!
Grookey: Groo... Key! (Launches Razor Leaf at Eevee)
Blue: Eevee! Double Team!
Eevee: Veh! (Uses Double Team, creating clones of itself, causing Grookey's Razor Leaf to miss)
Latrell: Grookey, knock them away with another Razor Leaf!
Blue: Eevee, dodge and get up close with Quick Attack!
Grookey: Key! (Launches more Razor Leaf)
Eevee: Vee! (Uses Quick Attack to get close to Grookey alongside her Double Team produced clones, with some of them fading due to being hit by Razor Leaf)
Latrell: Grookey, go for Branch Poke!
Grookey: Key! (Jumps towards Eevee and her clones and readies Branch Poke)
Blue: Alluring Voice!
Eevee: Ee! (Uses Alluring Voice in unison with her clones)
Grookey: (Gets hit by all of the Alluring Voices and falls to the ground)
Fiore: Alright, let's call it.
Latrell: Alright, you okay, Grookey? (Walks up to Grookey and picks him up)
Grookey: Groo! (Nods his head)
Silver: You feeling confident, Blue?
Blue: Yeah, I'm gonna earn that Ribbon!
Latrell: Yeah, you've got this.
Fiore: Have you figured out what you're gonna do?
Blue: Yep. I was up a bit late last night working on it with Eevee.
Fiore: Great. I know you two will do awesome.
Blue: By the way, what time is it?
Silver: (Checks his phone) 12:30 PM, why?
Blue: WHAT?!
8 minutes later, with the group bolting through Basalt City
Blue: C'mon! Hurry! I have less than 30 minutes to register!
Fiore: (Panting) Why did you decide to wait till now to register?!
Eevee: Vee!
Blue: I was focused on training!
Latrell: Never mind all that! Just run! (Sprints ahead of the group)
Silver: How does he have that much energy?!
Fiore: (Panting in between each word) I... don't... know! (Falls onto the ground, unconscious due to exhaustion)
5 minutes later, at the Basalt Contest Hall with Latrell, Silver, and Blue just arriving inside the building
Latrell: (Rushes into the building) We're here!
Silver: (Runs in the building behind Latrell and starts panting heavily) For the love of Arceus, you need to slow down!
Blue: (Runs in and pushes past the two males towards the counter, knocking them over in the process) We made it!
Latrell: Hey!
Silver: Watch it!
Blue: Hello, miss. I want to register for the Pokémon Contests.
Counter Lady: Of course! I'll just need your name, age, place of birth, and Rotom Phone.
Blue: Alright, my name's Blue, I'm 13, I was born and raised in Viridian City. Here's my phone. (Hands the Counter Lady her Rotom Phone)
Counter Lady: Alright, thanks so much. (Takes Blue's phone and puts it inside some device)
(Suddenly, an average height girl with long ginger hair and freckles, looking to be about 13, walks into the building and sees the two male Trainers on the ground)
Girl: Oh my gosh! Are you two okay? (Grabs Latrell's hand and helps him up)
Latrell: (Slightly blushes as he stands up thanks to the girl's help) Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks.
Silver: (Stands up and dusts himself off) Yeah, thanks for the help. (Rolls his eyes)
Girl: (Nervously chuckles) Sorry, I was about to help you too.
Latrell: What's your name?
Girl: I'm Diane. What about you two?
Latrell: I'm Latrell.
Silver: My name is Silver.
Diane: Great, are you two here to sign up for the contest too?
Latrell: Oh, no, we're here with a friend we're traveling with.
Silver: So you're a Pokémon Coordinator?
Diane: Yep! This is going to be my first Contest.
Blue: (Walks away from the counter and towards Latrell, Silver, and Diane) I managed to sign up in time. Oh, who's this?
Latrell: This is Diane. She's also signing up for the Contest.
Blue: That's awesome! Nice to meet you, I'm Blue. And this is my partner, Eevee.
Eevee: Vee!
Diane: Nice to meet you, Blue and Eevee. (Shakes Blue's hand) You're so pretty, Blue.
Blue: You too! I love your hair.
Diane: Thanks, I use Milotic Gel.
Silver: (Rolls his eyes) Oy vey.
Latrell: Diane, shouldn't you be trying to sign up for the contest? There's not much time left.
Diane: Oh! You're right! (Runs over to the counter to sign up)
Fiore: (Runs into the building, panting heavily in exhaustion) Son of a Growlithe! Why do my legs have to be so short?! What happened?
Silver: To sum it up, Blue signed up, we have a new friend who's also a Coordinator, and Latrell's into her.
Latrell: No I'm not!
Diane: (Walks towards the group) Alright, I'm all signed up! Were you saying something, Latrell?
Latrell: Uhh... nope, nothing at all.
Silver, Blue, Fiore, and Eevee: (Deadpan Latrell as a sweatdrop rolls down all their faces)
15 minutes later, with the group and Diane at the Pokémon Center's backyard
Diane: So, where are you all from?
Latrell: I come from Pallet Town.
Blue: I'm from Viridian City.
Silver: Slateport City in the Hoenn Region.
Fiore: And I'm from Canalave City in the Sinnoh Region.
Diane: Wow, so not all of you are from Kanto?
Silver: Nope, I came here to take on the Indigo League.
Fiore: And I'm a Shiny Hunter.
Diane: That's cool!
Latrell: What about you?
Diane: I'm from Driftveil City in the Unova Region.
Blue: Wow, that's even farther away than Sinnoh or Hoenn are.
Diane: Yep. I came to Kanto to broaden my horizons, since I've been in Unova all my life.
Fiore: That's cool. What kind of Pokémon do you have?
Diane: I'd be happy to show you all. (Throws out three Pokéballs to reveal an Oshawott, a Teddiursa, and a Scorbunny)
Blue: Aww! They're all so cute!
Silver: Wonder what they are. (Pulls out his Rotom Phone on Oshawott)
Rotom Phone: Oshawott, the Sea Otter Pokémon. A Water Type. It wields the scalchop on its stomach like a knife, blocking the moves of its enemies before slashing back at them in swift retaliation. Oshawott is one of the three Starter Pokémon that new Trainers in Unova can choose.
Silver: Cool, so it's a Unova Starter.
Oshawott: Osha-Osha!
Fiore: Now let's see about this little guy. (Pulls out her Rotom Phone on Teddiursa)
Rotom Phone: Teddiursa, the Little Bear Pokémon. A Normal Type. This Pokémon discreetly follows Combee to find their hive. It scoops up big dollops of honey in its palms to eat.
Fiore: Cool, so it loves honey.
Teddiursa: Ursa!
Latrell: Now let's see about this last one. (Pulls out his Rotom Phone on Scorbunny)
Silver: Looks like a Fire Type to me.
Rotom Phone: Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon. A Fire Type. Fire energy gathers in the pads of its feet, raising their temperature. Once hot, Scorbunny's footpads can deal heavy damage to opponents. Scorbunny is one of the three Starter Pokémon that new Trainers in Galar can choose.
Scorbunny: Bun-Bun!
Blue: Wow, you have a Galar Starter?
Diane: Yeah, I found him on my way to this city. Can I see all your Pokémon?
Latrell: Sure, I don't see why not.
(The group all sends out their Pokémon)
Diane: Woah, I've never seen some of these Pokémon!
15 minutes later, with the group and Diane having fun while all their Pokémon get acquainted
Diane: Wow, you guys haven't even been friends for two weeks, and you've already done so much.
Fiore: Yep.
Silver: We're awesome. (High fives Fiore)
Diane: Well, this has been fun, but we should get to the Contest Hall now, the Contest is gonna start soon.
Blue: Yeah! Let's go! (Starts running off towards the Contest Hall, with Eevee and Pikachu following behind)
Diane: Wait up! (Runs after Blue alongside Oshawott, Teddiursa, and Scorbunny)
(Suddenly, a Torchic peeks its head from out of the bushes behind where the remaining three Trainers are and stares at the two Coordinators running off)
About 30 minutes later, in the Contest Hall's Arena, with the lights dimmed and one lone woman standing in the center
Lilian: When this grey-colored city is filled with the laughter of Pokémon and Trainers alike, that can only mean one thing! It's time for the Basalt City Pokémon Contest!
(The crowd all loudly cheer)
Lilian: I'm your Master of Ceremonies, Lilian Meridian, and welcome to this wonderful Pokémon Event! Today, we'll be seeing Coordinators come together with their Pokémon to perform for us, and hopefully leave here with a ribbon! Anyone who manages to obtain 5 Ribbons can enter the Grand Festival, the most prestigious of all the Pokémon Contests!
(The crowd cheers even more)
Lilian: The judges for today's Contest are... (Points to the judges sitting in their podiums on the edge of the arena, as the spotlight shines on the one all the way to the left) Mr. Contesta!
Mr. Contesta: I'm expecting great things from all the Coordinators competing today!
(The spotlight then moves to the man in the middle)
Lilian: The Pokémon Fan Club President, Mr. Sukizo!
Sukizo: Remarkable!
(The spotlight then shines to a Nurse Joy on the right)
Lilian: The local Pokémon Center's Nurse Joy!
Nurse Joy: All of you do your best!
(The crowd continues their cheers)
Lilian: Now, it's time for the Basalt City Pokémon Contest to begin! And first to take the stage, a Trainer from Viridian City, who is making her debut into the Contest World, it's Blue! (She points towards the entrance to the arena)
Blue: (Runs out of said entrance with Eevee sitting on her head)
With Latrell, Silver, and Fiore in the bleachers
Fiore: So Blue's up first?
Latrell: I wonder what she's gonna do.
Silver: Go show 'em what's what, Blue!
Back to Blue in the arena
Blue: Alright, let's go, Eevee!
Eevee: Ee! (Jumps off Blue's head and onto the center of the stage)
Lilian (Voiceover): And Blue uses her Eevee! Wow! Such a cute Pokémon!
Blue: Eevee, start with Double Team!
Eevee: Vee! (Uses Double Team and makes 8 clones of itself)
Lilian (Voiceover): And Eevee uses Double Team to make more of itself. What will Eevee do now that there's 9 of them?
Blue: Alright, Alluring Voice!
Eevee (Group #1): (Start using Alluring Voice towards the audience, and doing so beautifully)
Lilian (Voiceover): That's a rare sight! Blue's Eevee Clones uses Alluring Voice to draw all the crowd in! What a move!
With Latrell, Silver, and Fiore in the bleachers
Silver: I always forget how good Alluring Voice sounds.
Fiore: It should sound this good with that type of name.
(Suddenly, Grookey jumps out of his Pokéball unprompted)
Latrell: Grookey?
Grookey: Groo! Groo-Key-Groo! (Starts beating his stick on the edge of the bleachers to the beat of Eevee's Alluring Voice)
Fiore: I guess Grookey likes Eevee's Alluring Voice too.
Back to Blue and Eevee on the arena
Blue: Now, use Swift!
Eevee (Group #2): (The other Four Eevee Clones all jump in the air and start using Swift, creating a swirl of the flying stars in the air that they start to ride on like surfers)
Blue: Alright, Quick Attack!
Eevee: Vee! (The remaining Eevee starts running laps around the arena using Quick Attack)
Lilian (Voiceover): And Eevee shows off some speedy agility with Quick Attack! What will Blue do next?
Blue: Eevee! Use Alluring Voice as you ride the Swift!
Eevee (4): (Start singing in harmony with the four Eevee on the ground)
Lilian (Voiceover): And the Swift-Surfing Eevee are all singing too! Blue must want us to focus on them right now. What is she up to?
Blue: Time for the big finish! Eevee! Use Double Team as you run!
Eevee: Vee! (The Eevee running laps around the arena suddenly turns into 5 Eevee all running around the arena)
Blue: Now, all of you leap and use Quick Attack on the Swift!
Eevee (Group #3): Vee! (All of the running Eevee leap off the ground towards the Swift cyclone using Quick Attack as the 8 other Eevee continue their singing)
Blue: Alright, use Alluring Voice and aim above you!
Eevee (Group #1): Ee! (The 4 Eevee underneath the Swift Cyclone all jump in the air and use Alluring Voice on the Swifts)
Blue: Now, bring it all together and use Quick Attack!
Eevee (Group #3): Ee! (The 5 Eevee merge together into one, and hit the Swift head-on with Quick Attack simultaneously with Group #1's Alluring Voice, leaving a single Eevee in the air, with a pink and yellow fireworks display behind it, as Group #1 all dissipate)
Lilian (Voiceover): What a show! Blue finishes off her performance with a fireworks display that highlights Eevee's cuteness and versatility!
Eevee: Vee! (Falls to the ground and lands in Blue's arms)
Blue: (Hugs Eevee tight) Eevee, you were perfect!
Eevee: Vee!
With Latrell, Silver, Fiore, and Grookey on the bleachers
Latrell: That was awesome!
Fiore: Blue really showed off Eevee well.
Grookey: Groo! Groo-Key! Key-Key!
Silver: Yeah, let's just hope the judges like it.
Back to Blue, Lilian, and the judges on the arena
Lilian: So, what did our esteemed judges think?
Mr. Contesta: Well...
Sukizo: Hmm...
Nurse Joy: I must say...
Blue: (Looks at the judges with a mix of worry and hope on her face)
Eevee: Vee? (Gives a questioning and confused look at the judges)
