The Wondrous World of Pokémon! A world filled with mysterious creatures known as Pokémon, who come in all shapes and sizes. They live everywhere imaginable. On the land, in the seas and skies, and some even come from outer space. These creatures can bond with humans thanks to the special capture devices known as Pokéballs. Those who use Pokémon for battle are known as Pokémon Trainers. And today, 4 special trainers will be starting a new journey today.
Pallet Town, Kanto Region
In a living room with a grown man with dark skin, dreads, with a beard and a mustache.
Man: (Scrolling on his phone)
(Just then, a male with slightly lighter skin and a flat top hairstyle, wearing a red hoodie, a white undershirt, and black sweatpants runs down the stairs)
Man: Hey bro, good morning.
Latrell: Morning, Dad. Have you seen my bag?
Latrell's Dad: (Tosses Latrell a purple backpack) Don't forget your hat and your shoes.
Latrell: (Catches his bag and puts it on his back) Right! Thanks Dad. I'll see you when I'm back! (Puts on his shoes, and puts on a purple beanie)
Latrell's Dad: You've got this!
Latrell: Yeah! I'll definitely win the Indigo League!
Latrell's Dad: Do you have your phone?
Latrell: Yep. (Pulls his Rotom Phone out of his pocket)
Latrell's Dad: Alright, good luck out there.
Latrell: Thanks a lot! Alright, later! (Runs out of the house)
Viridian City, Kanto Region
On a porch with a fair-skinned, blonde haired, blue eyed girl wearing a blue tank top and black leggings, with a yellow backpack and a woman who looks similar, except she's older and dressed like a housewife.
Blue: Alright, I'll be heading out now, Mom.
Blue's Mom: Alright, you have everything you need, honey?
Blue: Yep, I've got my map, and I have my Rotom Phone.
Blue's Mom: Alright, make sure to not get lost on your way to Pallet Town, and don't be afraid to ask for directions if you get lost on the way to Professor Oak's Lab.
Blue: I won't, don't worry.
Blue's Mom: You should get going now. It was hard enough for me to convince Professor Oak to give you a starter Pokémon since we don't live in Pallet Town. We're just lucky I was an old friend of his.
Blue: Alright, I'll be leaving now. Goodbye, Mom! (Runs off her porch and towards Route 1)
Blue's Mom: Good luck out there, sweetie! (Waves to Blue while watching her run off)
3 Days Ago - Slateport City, Hoenn Region
With a dark-skinned male with dreads wearing a dark blue t-shirt, black jeans, and carrying around a dark gray backpack at the port in Slateport
Silver: Alright, time to get on the boat! (Runs in the opposite direction of the boat)
Sailor: Hey kid! Are you getting on the boat?
Silver: Yeah, why?
Sailor: You're going the wrong way...
Silver: I am?
Sailor: Yeah, the boat is that way (Points to the huge boat in front of Silver and the sailor)
Silver: Oh... thanks! (Runs in the direction the sailor was pointing)
Sailor (Under his breath): Geez, that kid has no sense of direction.
Silver: (Leans against the deck of the boat) We're off to the Kanto Region. (Pulls a Pokéball out of his pocket and grins at it)
2 Days Ago - Canalave City, Sinnoh Region
With a short, tan-skinned female with short black hair with glasses wearing a black tracksuit jacket with a dark gray undershirt and pastel green carrying a dark pink bag at the port of Canalave.
Fiore: Alright, I'll see you later, Mama.
Fiore's Mom: Have fun out there, honey. Make sure to call me when you make it to the Viridian Port.
Fiore: Of course!
Fiore's Mom: Do you have your Rotom Phone?
Fiore: Yep! Alright, I've gotta catch the boat now, bye Mama! (Runs onto the boat as it pulls off from the port)
Fiore's Mom: (Waves to Fiore as the boat drives off)
Back to Present Day - Pallet Town, Kanto Region
Latrell: (Runs and enters Professor Oak's Lab) Professor! I'm here!
Oak: Oh, Latrell, my boy! How are you?
Latrell: I'm doing great, Professor. What about you?
Oak: I'm doing splendid. So, you're here to get your starter Pokémon?
Latrell: Of course!
Oak: Well, you showed up just in time! Both of the other two trainers from Pallet who were getting their starters just arrived a few minutes ago, but they took their Starter Pokémon and left.
Latrell: So there's only one choice left?
Oak: Yep, come on down, Charmander!
(A Charmander then walks down from the upstairs of Oak's Lab and walks up to the two)
Latrell: A Charmander, wow...
Oak: I will warn you, Charmander is the hardest of the Starter Pokémon to raise. Are you sure you're up for it?
Latrell: (Picks up Charmander) Yeah, raising him will be worth it. I can tell. Charmander was going to be my choice for a Starter anyway.
Charmander: Char! (Joyfully smiles at Latrell)
Oak: (Hands Latrell a Pokéball) This is Charmander's Pokéball. You should try returning Charmander to its ball.
Latrell: Alright then. Charmander, return! (Returns Charmander to his Pokéball)
Oak: (Hands Latrell 5 Pokéballs) These are used for catching other Pokémon. You should have a Pokédex downloaded in your phone.
Latrell: (Pulls out his Rotom Phone and checks it) Yep, I got it. Thanks, Professor.
Blue: (Bursts into the lab) Professor! I'm here! (Panting)
Oak: Ah! Blue, I presume.
Blue: Yeah, I'm here for my Pokémon.
Oak: Oh, I'm sorry, Blue. But the last Starter I had had just been taken.
Blue: Seriously?
Oak: Yes, I'm sorry. Maybe you could come back again next year.
Blue: (Sighs sadly) I guess.
Latrell: (Gives a look of sympathy) Hey, Professor Oak, do you have any extra Pokéballs?
Oak: Yes, I do have a few.
Latrell: Perfect. Do you mind if I borrow them?
Oak: Huh?
Blue: (Gives a confused face)
Latrell: I'm gonna help you catch your first Pokémon!
Blue: You're what?
Oak: Huh?!
Latrell: I feel bad that you'd have to wait a whole year to get your Starter Pokémon. So I'll help you catch a Pokémon since I took the last Starter.
Blue: You will?! Thanks so much! You're the best!
Latrell: Of course.
Oak: (Hands Latrell 6 extra Pokéballs) Good luck out there, kids!
Latrell: (Runs off with Blue) We will! Catch ya later, Professor!
Blue: See you later, Professor! (Waves as she runs off)
Viridian City, Kanto Region
At the Port in Viridian City, where two boats both have just arrived and are dropping off the passengers.
Fiore: (Gets off the boat she was on) Wow, Kanto looks a lot different from Sinnoh. Alright, time to find the Pokémon Center! (Runs off into Viridian City)
Silver: (Gets off the boat he was on) Alright... made it to Viridian, now it's time to find the Pokémon Center and get registered for the Indigo League. (Runs off into Viridian City)
Route 1, Kanto Region
With Latrell and Blue walking around and looking for Pokémon.
Latrell: So, you see anything?
Blue: Nope, not yet.
Latrell: Man, this is harder than I thought. I thought Pokémon lived everywhere.
Blue: (Chuckles) I don't think that means we're just gonna see one everywhere we look. (Looks to her right to see an Eevee sunbathing by a lake)
Latrell: (Looks to where Blue is facing and sees the Eevee) Finally, we found a Pokémon!
Blue: What is it?
Latrell: (Pulls out his Rotom Phone and uses the Pokédex App on Eevee)
Rotom Phone: Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. A Normal Type. Its genetic code is irregular. It may mutate if it is exposed to radiation from element stones.
Latrell: So it's an Eevee.
Blue: Cool! Could you hand me a Pokéball?
Latrell: Gotcha, here you go. (Hands Blue a Pokéball)
Blue: (Walks up to the Eevee) Hey there, Eevee.
Eevee: Ee-Veh!
Blue: My name's Blue. I'm a new trainer starting out, and I need a partner Pokémon.
Eevee: Ee?
Blue: Do you wanna be my partner Pokémon? (Holds out the Pokéball to Eevee)
Eevee: (Puts its paw on the Pokéball Button, and a red laser surrounds Eevee and puts it in the Pokéball)
Blue: Ah!
Latrell: So, you caught it?
Blue: I don't know. (The Pokéball in Blue's hand shakes three times, then the button glows green, signifying the successful capture)
Latrell: You did it!
Blue: Yeah! I caught an Eevee!
Latrell: (Walks up to Blue) Great!
Blue: Thanks so much!
Latrell: Of course. Oh by the way, Blue's a really cool name.
Blue: Thanks! Why didn't you say it earlier?
Latrell: I never caught it at the lab, sorry.
Blue: (Laughs) Oh, well it's fine. What's your name?
Latrell: I'm Latrell.
Blue: Well, thanks for helping me catch Eevee, Latrell.
Latrell: Of course! Do you have any goals in mind now that you have a Pokémon?
Blue: I'm going to be taking on the Pokémon Contests!
Latrell: Oh, that's cool. I'm not much of a contest person myself, but I'm sure you'll do well.
Blue: What about you?
Latrell: I'm going to take on the Indigo League!
Blue: So you're going after Gym Badges? Alright, sounds great!
Latrell: Alright, I've gotta head to Viridian City now to qualify for the Indigo League.
Blue: I'm headed there too actually!
Latrell: Oh, well, that's pretty convenient.
Blue: Hey! I just had an idea! Why don't we travel together?
Latrell: Sure! That sounds like fun! Let's head to Viridian City now! (Starts walking towards Viridian)
Blue: Right behind you! (Follows Latrell)
Viridian City, Kanto Region
With Fiore looking around Viridian, pretty lost as of right now.
Fiore: Ugh! I'm lost! Where do I go? (Reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Pokéball, which she throws out to reveal a Piplup)
Piplup: Pip!
Fiore: Hey there, Piplup. I'm kinda lost, so could you help me find the Pokémon Center?
Piplup: Pip-Lup! (Runs in a random direction)
Fiore: (Sweat drop drops down her face) Better than nothing, I guess. (Follows behind Piplup)
With Silver sitting against a tree, looking for any indication of where the Pokémon Center is.
Silver: Dang, where on Earth could the Pokémon Center be?
Random Old Man: (Walks up to Silver) Hey there, sonny! You lost?
Silver: Yeah, kinda. Do you know the way to the Pokémon Center?
Old Man: Oh, sure. Just go straight from here and take a left at the third building ahead of us. You should see it.
Silver: Thanks! (Runs straight but turns left at the second building instead of the third)
Old Man: Well, I tried.
With Latrell and Blue now having made it to Viridian City
Latrell: Wow, this place is a lot bigger than Pallet Town.
Blue: Yep. Welcome to Viridian City, where I was born and raised.
Latrell: Alright, we should head for the Pokémon Center.
Blue: Yeah, follow me! (Starts walking in the direction of where the Pokémon Center is)
Latrell: (Follows behind)
Fiore: (Runs alongside her Piplup and accidentally bumps into Latrell, causing both to fall to the ground)
Latrell: (Rubs his head) Geez, can you watch where you're going.
Fiore: Well, excuse me for rushing and not being able to stop in time.
Latrell: (Picks himself up) Alright, let's go, Blue.
Fiore: (Picks herself up) Did you get hurt, Piplup?
Piplup: (Shakes his head)
Blue: Woah, I've never seen that Pokémon before!
Latrell: Yeah, what is it? (Pulls out his Rotom Phone and uses the Pokédex on Piplup)
Rotom Phone: Piplup, the Penguin Pokémon. A Water Type. A poor walker, it often falls down. However, its strong pride makes it puff up its chest without a care. Piplup is one of the three Starter Pokémon that new Trainers receive in the Sinnoh Region.
Piplup: (Puffs its chest and proudly smiles)
Blue: He's so cute!
Fiore: Thanks! He's my Starter Pokémon.
Latrell: So you're not from Kanto?
Fiore: Nope, I'm from Canalave City in the Sinnoh Region! By chance do you two know your way to the Pokémon Center? I'm kinda lost.
Latrell: Sinnoh? Wow, isn't that pretty far?
Fiore: Yeah, it is.
Blue: Well, if you're going to the Pokémon Center, you can come with us. We were heading there, actually.
Fiore: Really? Thanks, you two aren't that bad after all.
Latrell: Likewise.
(The three walk off in the direction of the Pokémon Center)
With the new-founded trio, who have now arrived at the Pokémon Center.
Blue: We made it!
Latrell: Now I can register for the Indigo League!
Fiore: And I can get me some food!
Latrell: (Walks up to the counter where Nurse Joy is standing behind) Hey, Nurse Joy, I want to register for the Indigo League.
Nurse Joy: Of course. I'll just need your Rotom Phone so I can register you for your Gym Challenge.
Latrell: Got it. (Hands Nurse Joy his phone)
Nurse Joy: (Uses Latrell's phone and puts it through the registration process)
Blue: Can I also register for Contests here?
Nurse Joy: No, you'd have to do that at a Contest Hall, which is also where Contests take place. The nearest one from here is in Basalt City. It's in between Pewter City and Cerulean City.
Blue: Alright, thanks a lot, Nurse Joy.
Nurse Joy: (Hands Latrell his phone back) Alright, you're all registered for the Indigo League, Latrell.
Latrell: Thanks, Nurse Joy.
Fiore: Latrell's your name?
Latrell: Did I forget to give you my name?
Fiore: Yeah, you kinda did.
Blue: (Deadpans the two) Wow, this is like a recurring theme today.
Latrell: Well, I'm Latrell and that's Blue.
Fiore: And I'm Fiore.
Silver: (Walks into the Pokémon Center) Finally... made... it... (Breathing heavily)
Nurse Joy: Oh my goodness! Are you okay?
Silver: Yeah, can you please look at my Pokémon for me? (Hands Nurse Joy his Pokéball)
Nurse Joy: Of course. Do any of you three need your Pokémon to be treated?
Blue: I just caught my Eevee, so could you look after her too? Just in case she got into a battle or something (Hands Nurse Joy her Pokéball)
Nurse Joy: Gladly. Alright, you can wait while I care for your Pokémon. I'll let you know when your Pokémon are okay. (Walks into the back)
Latrell: Alright, now we can eat!
Fiore: Finally! I'm starving!
Silver: Do you three mind if I eat with y'all? I'm kinda hungry too.
Blue: Sure, we don't mind.
With the four trainers sitting at a table and enjoying their food and drinks.
Latrell: (Takes a sip out of his soda) So, what's your name? (Points to Silver)
Silver: Ah, I'm Silver. I'm from Slateport City in the Hoenn Region.
Fiore: Wow, that's even farther than my home region.
Silver: Where are you from?
Fiore: I'm from Canalave City in the Sinnoh Region.
Silver: And what about you two? (Points to Latrell and Blue)
Blue: I'm Blue, I was born here in Viridian City.
Fiore: That explains how you know where to go.
Silver: Cool, and what about you?
Latrell: I'm Latrell, and I'm from Pallet Town. Now I've gotta ask, what'd you two leave your home regions for?
Silver: Well, I came here to take on the Indigo League.
Latrell: No way, same here. What about you, Fiore?
Fiore: Well, I want to find Shiny Pokémon.
Blue: Like, Pokémon that shine?
Fiore: (Chuckles) No, they're Pokémon that have different colorations from what their species normally have. I was inspired by a friend of mine from when I was younger.
Blue: Oh, that's cool.
Fiore: Blue, you said you're going after Contests earlier, right?
Blue: Yep, I wanna be a Top Coordinator.
Silver: Sounds great.
Blue: Hey, Silver and Fiore, why don't you two travel with me and Latrell?
Latrell: I don't have an issue with it. What do you two say?
Fiore: Of course!
Silver: I'm game.
Nurse Joy (Loudspeaker): Would the Trainers of the Treecko and the Eevee come to the counter? Your Pokémon are all better.
Silver: That's our cue.
With the group leaving the Pokémon Center
Blue: I've never seen a Pokémon like yours, Silver.
Silver: Yeah, Treecko here was the Pokémon I chose as my Partner back in Hoenn.
Treecko: (Jumps onto Silver's shoulder)
Blue: (Pulls out her Rotom Phone and uses the Pokédex on Treecko)
Rotom Phone: Treecko, the Wood Gecko Pokémon. A Grass Type. Treecko can quickly scale even vertical surfaces. It senses humidity with its tail to predict the next day's weather. Treecko is one of the three Pokémon that new Trainers can choose in the Hoenn Region.
Latrell: Wow, Treecko's pretty cool.
Silver: Yeah. I'm just glad he's okay now.
Fiore: What happened?
Silver: I got lost on the way to the Pokémon Center, I ran into a Mankey and it messed up Treecko pretty bad.
Latrell: Wow, that Mankey sounds tough.
Silver: I know, I want to catch it.
Latrell: Are you sure you're gonna be able to take it down alone?
Silver: Yeah, I definitely can.
Fiore: How well did you do against it the first time?
Silver: ...That's irrelevant.
Blue: We might as well tag along since we're gonna be traveling together now.
Silver: Sure. Alright, let's go find that Mankey!
(The group walks off)
