Day 12
Well, Rye got his new weapon yesterday. A beautiful and sleek orange longsword. I swear Rye's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates when he took a look at it. I'll have to teach him how to use it. I still remember the basics Grandpa taught me before I stopped using weapons.
Welf did a good job and didn't scam me. Maybe I could search him back up when Rye needs to get some new armor. But with his current gear now he should be good until the seventh or eighth floor.
After that, he'll need new armor. But that's a bridge I'll cross when it's time. But today it's time for Monsterphelia.
Airmid and I are going to be working for most of the event. She said I didn't have to help her and that I should go and enjoy the event. But what type of bodyguard would I be if I just left her alone like that?
I mean sure I do it when she's at the clinic, but that's different. There she won't be surrounded by monsters. I don't care how many Ganesha familia members will be pulling security.
Something about this whole event rubs me the wrong way. Why bring monsters up to the surface to put on a show? Aren't people supposed to be afraid of monsters?
At least those that don't fight them on a regular basis?
But hey, what do I know? I'm just some country hick from the boonies. I didn't even know how an elevator worked a few days ago. Who am I to talk about how people live in the city?
Especially since that city is Orario.
Well, those are just my thoughts on the matter. I should probably start getting ready. Today's gonna be a long day and I'll have to keep a heavier eye on Airmid.
I'd be a terrible bodyguard if I let anything happen to her.
But my level-up should help keep her safer. After these last few days of experimenting on monsters, I've come to the conclusion that because of my magic removing my body's previous limiters, I'm a level higher than what my Falna shows.
So my strength is more akin to a level three than a level two. Maybe that's why Master was so freakishly strong.
But now this opens up the question of if I can push my body further, could I push it up to two levels? Possibly three?
More testing is needed, so I might test my luck on the middle floors after Monsterphelia is over. Test my luck there and see what happens.
Oh quick side note, Maria was discharged from the hospital about three days after I checked her in. Lady Hestia and the kids came by every day to try and check up on her. But with Fena the way she is we had to keep them back.
She seems to be on the upend thanks to the medicine, I'm hoping her progress will keep being good and she'll be discharged soon.
Fingers crossed.
Bell shut his journal and placed it on his nightstand. He leaned back and pressed his head against the wall. And just let out an exhale.
Part of him had this nagging feeling in the back of his head. This whole event felt wrong, maybe there was something more to this that Bell wasn't seeing or understanding.
But whatever it was it just meant he'd have to keep a closer eye on Airmid.
Bell took a look at his right hand. He opened and closed it, easily forming a fist. 'Well, if anything or anyone tries to hurt her. A good punch could easily solve the problem.'
He thought back to his master, to their training, and how many times that woman punched him. Sent him flying through the trees and forest, it had toughened him up for the city. Or at least that was her excuse.
'Heh, oh she toughened me up alright. Because of her, I can rarely feel pain. So I guess that Battleaxe of a woman did care for me after all.'
Bell felt a chill run down his spine. He could feel his master's icy cold glare even from this far away. 'There is no way she heard me call her that from so far away!'
But Bell wasn't going to take any chances, so he quickly grabbed a change of clothes and headed to the bathroom. The door had been repaired and Airmid was still asleep, he was going to wash up and then start breakfast.
It would be the start of a long day for the two.
.
.
.
.
Airmid made her way downstairs after getting dressed. A certain excitement buzzing in her chest as today was Monsterphelia.
She always liked working at the event. It was fun to watch the fights and eat the free food the Ganesha familia members brought her.
She knew she was there for work in the end. But it was always a fun work event for her. She just mostly had to be on standby in case things were really bad and one of the tamers was hurt.
But the Ganesha familia tamers knew what they were doing. And they knew that this was no place for games despite it being advertised as one.
"Morning Bell." Airmid softly greeted. She wasn't mad at him for breaking her door anymore. It was a simple accident because Bell didn't know how to control his newfound strength.
"Morning Airmid, ready for today?" Bell asked, he grabbed the plates containing their breakfast and set them on the table.
Airmid nodded and took her seat across from Bell. "I am, are you sure you want to stay with me though? You're free to spend the day as you like."
Bell just smiled as he took a bite of his eggs. He chewed and then swallowed. "I'm sure, I'd be a pretty bad bodyguard leaving you in a place I'm not one hundred percent sure is safe. Especially when you're going to be around monsters."
Airmid playfully rolled her eyes at Bell's concern. It was kind of cute. "Bell the monsters are going to be in an entirely separate wing from me. We are on opposite sides of the Coliseum."
Bell just pointed his fork at her. "You're still within at least 3,000 feet of monsters. That's too close for my liking."
Airmid merely smiled and shook her head. "They are under heavy lock and key from the Ganesha familia. But if you're set on doing this I won't challenge you anymore."
"Good, good," Bell mumbled.
The two continued their breakfast in relative peace. While Airmid was relaxed and excited Bell was tense. He vowed to keep as close of an eye on Airmid as he could.
He wouldn't let harm befall her on this day.
.
.
.
.
Airmid closed and locked the door behind her. The sun had barely risen leaving the city still slightly dark. The streets were empty leaving Bell and Airmid alone as they walked.
"Eh, this is creepy," Bell muttered, his head looking anywhere for signs of life.
Airmid didn't seem perturbed, however, like she was used to this. "It's because the city's still asleep Bell."
"I know, but it still feels creepy. There's no life anywhere." He stated.
Airmid had to stifle her giggle as Bell's head shot to every alley and dark corner of the street. It would be a mean thing to do considering he was caring for her safety.
It was a long walk from Airmid's house to the Coliseum. For 45 minutes Bell had kept his guard up as the sun was ever so slowly rising behind them.
After 20 minutes people were exiting their houses and merchants were hurrying to get good spots for their stands. Hushed whispers and hurried steps sounded throughout the streets.
After another 25 Bell and Airmid had arrived at the Coliseum. The sun was halfway in the sky by this point. And a lot more people were out in the streets.
"Wait, since you're so important to this event how come a carriage wasn't sent for you?" Bell asked as the Coliseum came into view.
It was a tall circular stone structure in the color of sand. And it stood hundreds of feet tall, Bell had to crane his neck to see the top of it. He wondered how many people this Coliseum could seat.
"It was offered, but I like taking on the city when there's nobody around. It's always so peaceful and serene." Airmid answered.
"That just sounds like a good way for you to get kidnapped without anyone around to witness it." Bell deadpanned.
Airmid smiled but felt her heart skip a beat. 'I never thought of that.' She thought.
"You didn't think that did you?"
"Quiet you, it's time to go to work!"
.
.
.
.
The two entered the Coliseum and Bell noticed at least four guards by the main entrance, and another four in the hallway they entered.
A fifth made herself known as she called out to Airmid. "Dea Saint, your station will be this way. Follow me." She ordered.
The two followed the woman and Bell took in her appearance. Or what little of it he could since she had her back to him.
She was tall for a woman, only one inch short of Bell. She had short azure-blue hair, the bangs of which tickled the back of her neck. A golden headpiece, which was in the shape of a half circle was attached to the back of her head. Bell didn't know what it was used for since it didn't seem to be holding her hair up.
She wore a short-sleeved orange dress that had the area in which covered her shoulders cut out. And underneath was what seemed to be a black bodysuit that covered her arms and legs. Atop her arms were two silver gauntlets accompanied by silver boots.
Bell was quick to tap Airmid's shoulder and lean down. "Who is she?" He whispered.
"My name is Shakti Varma." The woman stated, her voice cool and calm causing Bell to jump in fright. She sounded exactly like his master. "And I am the captain of the Ganesha familia."
Bell swallowed nervously. "Uh, m-my name's Bell, and uh...I'm Airmid's new bodyguard." He greeted, bumbling like an idiot over how eerily similar Shakti sounded to his master.
"A new one? What happened to your old one's Airmid?" Shakti inquired.
The saint blushed slightly in embarrassment. "Lord Dian fired them once he met Bell. Bell has healing magic as well but his is different, so he'll be helping me out today."
"So a bodyguard and an assistant? I can see why Lord Dian hired him. But what did you mean by Bell's healing magic being different? I assumed it would but you specifically pointed it out."
Airmid mentally slapped herself upside the head at her slip-up. But Bell didn't seem to mind, in fact, his face seemed to brighten. "Oh, I don't have to chant to use my magic. I just think of using it and it works. It's pretty cool because I can use it on myself or other people too."
Unknown to the two of them, Shakti had a small smile on her face as Bell rambled on. Talking about how his magic could do this and that. But the more he rambled on the more and more familiar his magic sounded.
Like Shakti had seen this exact magic somewhere else before. 'This sounds like the magic the Battle Ax used. Is this her child, does this mean she's still alive after all these years?'
All those questions raced through Shakti's mind as they journeyed down the stone hallways lit by monster stone lightbulbs. Passing many Ganesha guards along the way. But not encountering the god himself.
Eventually, they arrived at a room close to an entrance into the arena itself. Only being separated by about fifty to sixty feet.
In front of the door were two Ganesha guards. Dressed in silver plate armor and a silver open-face helm on their heads. For weapons they had a spear and shield, while attached to their belts was a short sword and a whip.
"These will be the people guarding your room. The barrier that covers the arena should hold. But in case the worst happens these two will be your protectors." Shakti explained.
"Hey, I can defend her too!" Bell pointed out. "All I need to do is hit the monster really hard and it'll stop moving."
Shakti had to suppress her smile this time, her subordinates were in front of her and she needed to have her captain's side activated. "Yes, my apologies for forgetting. But should you be needed elsewhere these two will stand guard in your absence."
Shakti then turned around and faced Airmid. That was when Bell felt his face heat up slightly at how beautiful Shakti was. 'So this is what Grandpa called a mature beauty.'
Shakti's face was pale, smooth, and easy to look at. Her piercing blue eyes looked like a gateway to the ocean, though Bell had never seen the ocean he could only assume it looked like Shakti's eyes.
Attached to her ears were two orange earrings shaped like a teardrop. Which matched well with her orange dress and azure-blue hair.
"I take it this location is to your liking?" Shakti asked.
Airmid nodded. "It is, it allows for me to treat those that need treating quickly."
Shakti nodded. "Then I will be on my way. Lord Ganesha will be expecting a status report by now. Should you need anything else ask one of the guards and they will relay that message to me, Have a good day."
With these final words, she was gone. Walking down the hallway and to her god. All the while Bell stared after her while she walked away. Seemingly enamored by the Ganesha familia captain.
Airmid saw this and lightly elbowed his side. "You're staring."
Bell blinked and quickly shook his head. "Sorry, anyway let's go inside your new office." He quickly mumbled.
Airmid smiled and rolled her eyes. 'He was so enamored he forgot this isn't an office.'
.
.
.
.
The inside of Airmid's workstation looked the same as the rest of the Coliseum. Sand-colored stone everywhere she looked. But she noticed the room was sterile and clean. With a few beds laid out for patients with clean sheets and mind potions scattered about the room. Most were congregated on the desk pressed up against the wall next to the door. With a stool for her to sit down on.
"Yes, this will do quite nicely," Airmid muttered to herself. Bell meanwhile, just stood there while Airmid organized the room to her liking.
"Uh, is there anything I can do to help?" Bell asked.
Airmid shook her head. "No, I should be fine." She then smirked to herself. "If you want, you can go chase down Shakti and talk to her some more."
Bell's face scrunched up in confusion. "Huh, why would I do that?"
Airmid looked over her shoulder, a teasing smirk adorned on her face. "I saw the way you were looking at her. All bright-eyed and star-struck." She teased.
Bell felt the heat return to his cheeks, causing him to look to the wall. "I merely found her pretty. That's all." He grumbled.
"Oh, you find her pretty."
"Alright calm down ankle biter." Bell fired back.
"Wha- I am not an ankle biter!" Airmid protested.
Bell said nothing and merely raised his eyebrow. Airmid'a face flushed before she took a deep breath. Then snapped her fingers and pointed down at the ground.
"Oh no, we're not doing this again!" Bell quickly protested.
.
.
.
.
After a lengthy back and forth Airmid and Bell's aid station was ready for the day. The room was filled with medical supplies and fresh sheets to change the beds. With Bell on standby in case Airmid needed any help.
Right now the two were outside their aid station. Close to the door which led to the sands of the area. Closed by a pale blue magical barrier.
The barrier was there to protect the viewers in case anything went wrong. With teams of Ganesha guards ready to rush in and solve the problem should they be needed.
The god Ganesha took this event very seriously. Knowing the damage the monsters could do if they were able to escape.
"So when does this event start?" Bell asked one of the door guards.
"Not for another hour." The one of the left replied.
Bell nodded. "I see...so we just wait here then?"
"Correct." The right one answered.
Bell nodded again and remained silent. Airmid noticed this and looked around. "Well if you are bored you can always go look for Shakti." She teased.
Bell groaned and leaned his head against the wall. "You're not letting that go are you?"
"See this as revenge for calling me an ankle-biter." She smirked.
.
.
.
.
An hour passed and the opening event was in full swing. It started with a speech from Ganesha and the announcer named Ibari. At least that was what Bell thought he said his name was.
After the speech, all the tamers came out with Shakti being among them. Bell didn't know why he watched the woman. Maybe it was because she reminded him of his master? Her tone of voice sounded almost identical to hers.
But after the tamers were introduced was when the opening act started. And a red-haired amazon wrestled a Barbarian to the ground like it was nothing.
Bell couldn't stop the childish glee from entering his eyes. That had to be one of the coolest things he had ever seen.
Barbarians were tall, ape-like creatures with horns on their head. They had red eyes and were known to travel in packs. With sharp jagged teeth protruding from their jaws which could easily bite a man in two.
They were covered in black fur which matched their skin and muscle. Bell knew that they came from the lower floors, floor 37. The White Palace, a place of never-ending darkness.
They normally attacked using their overwhelming strength or their tongues which would shoot out like a ballista bolt and slam into their target at breakneck speeds.
'I wonder how easily Master could've taken that thing down?' Bell wondered.
The Amazon then snapped the monster's neck with her thighs causing Bell to jump slightly in surprise. 'Woah.'
Airmid just smirked in amusement. "I'm guessing you've never seen a first-class adventurer in action before?"
"I have, but never like this," Bell said absentmindedly, his focus on the arena.
Airmid grew intrigued by this. There weren't many first-class adventurers in the world. Even less outside of Orario. So where could Bell have seen one in action before?
"Oh really, and when was this?"
The cheers in the arena died down and the Amazon lazily grabbed the Barbarian's arm and dragged it out of the arena.
Bell then turned his attention back to Airmid, his brow raised. "When was what?"
"When you saw a first-class adventurer in action," Airmid asked again.
"Why would I see a first-class adventurer in action?"
"I don't know you're the one who said they did!" Airmid nearly screamed, Bell was being weird.
"Oh, must've misspoke then," Bell said, before turning his attention back to the arena.
Airmid huffed in annoyance and walked back into her aid station. Once gone Bell let out a quick sigh of relief. 'Phew, almost gave myself away there.'
He then turned his attention back to the arena as another match was starting.
.
.
.
.
Further inside the arena was an area full of monsters in cages. It was the place under the heaviest guard. With over 20 Ganesha familia guards inside and another dozen guarding the entrance.
Monsters ranging from Goblin's and Minotaur's all the way to Barbarian's and Saprtoi. The Ganesha familia, try as they might could not get any monsters deeper than the 40th floor.
None of that mattered though, the guards at the entrance were already taken care of. Splayed out on the ground with looks of ecstasy on their faces.
The guards inside didn't fair much better. One look from the figure in the cloak and they were down on the ground. The same look of ecstasy on their faces as well.
The monsters inside their cages started to go crazy. Beating and banging against the bars trying to break free.
But the person didn't seem to mind as they perused the cages. As if looking for something specific. They found it in no time at all, their face spreading into a delighted grin as their eyes glowed for a second.
"Go and find the one with hair like mine and eyes as red as rubies." They ordered, then without hesitation opened the cages.
.
.
.
.
The sun was now shining high in the sky bathing Orario in its warm light. It was noon, and Bell and Airmid hadn't had much work. Airmid only had to heal a few light scrapes and bruises here and there.
The tamers seemed to know what they were doing and took the utmost precaution when it came to this event. Letting Bell relax a little seeing the ease with which the monsters were handled.
He was actually starting to enjoy himself watching the matches. But his guard was still up, something felt off.
"Hey Bell, it's lunchtime. Want to go grab something to eat at one of the stands?" Airmid asked, she had just finished changing the sheets on one of the beds.
"Um ok, but won't you be needed here?"
Airmid shook her head. "No, the events are stopping for about an hour so people can get some food. Which means we should hurry so we can beat the long lines."
Airmid was quick to scurry out of the room. Or as fast as her little legs could take her. Bell was able to catch her stride within a few steps. But remained silent as he gave a wave to the guards outside Airmid's aid station.
"So, do you know anything that's good?" Bell asked, he had never been to an event like this before. And while he enjoyed watching the performances he was nervous about everything else.
"Oh, don't you worry, I know exactly what we can have for lunch!" The small doctor declared. She sped walked down the halls with Bell close behind her.
To Bell, the tiny doctor seemed excited about the food she was about to eat. Like there was some big secret recipe only she had access to try.
The two found the exit and left the coliseum, Airmid making a beeline for something called a churro stand.
They got lucky, there was no line for the stand letting Airmid get first dibs on whatever the vendor was selling, and the man seemed to know Airmid as well judging by the kind smile on his face.
"Airmid, so good to see you again this year. Let me guess, another dozen churros for your liking?"
Bell's eyes nearly bulged out of his head hearing that number. Considering the churros were long, stringy pieces of fried dough, eating a dozen seemed like a little too much. Especially for someone as small as Airmid.
The small doctor shook her head. "Nope, I will need three dozen this time." She playfully elbowed Bell in the gut. "Bell here likes to eat a lot."
The vendor just nodded and got her order ready, while Bell stood there and waited. The vendor was quick to have her order ready and gave her two bags worth of churros.
Airmid quickly paid the man and started making her way back to the Coliseum. Churro's in hand with Bell confused about what just happened.
.
.
.
.
The two arrived back to their aid station after a few minutes walk. The guard on the left kindly opened the door for them. Not even batting an eye at the food they carried.
'Huh, these guys must be hungry and they didn't even eye the food. That's some professionalism right there.' Bell thought closing the door behind him.
What he didn't know was that they had pieces of jerky with them. Which the two quickly ate while Bell and Airmid were gone.
Airmid quickly scurried her way over to the table and took her seat. She pulled out one churro and handed it to Bell.
The boy took it and eyed it, the dough pastry was covered in cinnamon and Bell didn't know if he would like it. Sweets weren't really his thing and he wasn't sure if this classified as one.
"Go on, take a bite." Airmid urged.
Bell leaned forward and took a bite from the top of it. The taste of delightful cinnamon hit his tongue and Bell had a look of surprise on his face. "Huh, this thing is pretty good."
"I know right, it's sweet but not too sweet if you know what I mean."
Bell didn't, but he pretended to. "Yeah, even though I'm not one for sweets I really like it."
"You don't like sweets?" Airmid asked.
Bell shook his head. "Not really, which is funny because apparently my mom-" Bell stopped speaking and a look of sadness mixed with guilt spread across his face. Airmid noticed this and went to say something but Bell shook his head. "Never mind, anyway this thing is pretty good. Thanks for sharing it with me."
Airmid wondered why he had changed the subject. She wanted to ask Bell what happened to his mother, but then the look of guilt and sadness flashed through her mind and she decided to keep her mouth shut.
'I don't know him well enough to ask something so personal.' She thought.
.
.
.
.
It was now two in the afternoon and the event was in full swing once more. Bell and Airmid watched from outside the barrier. And were ready in case any injuries needed to be treated.
Right now Shakti herself was currently taking on a pack of Barbarians. With the grace and expertise of a first-class adventurer, she nimbly dodged around each attack. Having her Ankusha hit the backs of the Barbarians each time she dodged.
No matter what the monsters did they could not hurt her. She was too fast and elegant for them to even perceive.
After making a spectacle the fight ended as quickly as it began. With Shakti using her Ankusha to quickly dispatch of the monster, using the small hook on her weapon to cut their throats open.
The crowd let out a roaring cheer as Shakti made her exit. She walked toward Bell and Airmid, passing them with only a glance toward the two.
"Good job," Bell said.
"Thank you," Shakti replied, another smile on her face unseen by the others.
She turned down a hallway and disappeared from sight. Bell turned his attention back to the sands and watched as the clean-up crews disposed of the bodies.
The barrier was taken down allowing the crews to do their work. And the crowd had quieted down once Shakti had left.
"So, how long does this event normally last?" Bell inquired.
"It normally ends around six or seven. But then the streets get super busy with all the extra foot traffic. So the event doesn't really end until tomorrow."
Bell nodded, and then felt a slight tremor in the ground. His hairs stood up on the back of his neck as he placed a hand on Airmid's shoulder.
The saint looked up at him slightly nervous as Bell's eyes were glued down the other hallway. "Bell...is everything alright?" She asked.
The Ganesha guards tightened their grip on their spears and got ready for trouble as the shaking got louder and louder.
Bell didn't answer, he slightly tightened his grip on Airmid and narrowed his eyes. "Something's coming."
Airmid's body grew rigid as she felt the rumbling as well. She took solace in Bell holding her, knowing he'd do everything to keep her safe.
A resounding roar told the four all they needed to know about what was coming. And not a second later did a Minotaur enter their view, followed closely by another one.
Bell clicked his tongue and pushed Airmid back. She stumbled but was caught by the guards as Bell charged the monsters.
"Get her to Shakti! I'll hold these things back!" He ordered.
Bell didn't wait for a response, his fist was already reeled back and impacted the Minotaur's jaw shortly after.
The beast snorted and stumbled, and Bell kicked it in its side. The force of the kick sent the Minotaur into the arena, and soon screams were heard from the crowd.
But Bell didn't care about any of that, instead he ducked under the fist of the second Minotaur and wrapped his arms around its waist.
He lifted it up and ran into the area, tossing the bipedal cow into the sand. He took a deep breath and activated his magic, the green glow surrounded his body and bought him peace of mind.
Until the wall to his right shattered and three looming shadows entered his peripheral view. Bell turned his head slightly, making sure to keep the dazed Minotaurs within his view.
Only to see three infant dragons step into the arena.
"How did they even get that many?!"
.
.
.
.
The three infant dragons perused their way into the arena, and Bell sighed in annoyance. On top of the two Minotaur's, he would have to fight three infant dragons as well.
To make matters even worse for Bell, it was at that point another barrier formed atop him, trapping him inside with the monsters.
Bell glanced up and saw a beautiful jade-haired high elf. Dressed in green robes and a long white cloak that covered her body. She had her staff out and was currently focusing her energy on keeping the barrier up.
Panicking citizens and tourists were running and screaming. But the high elf stood tall and kept the barrier up. Not letting anything of them distract her.
"Whoever you are I am sorry for this, but I can not risk these monsters getting out in the streets! And there are too many people around for me to use my spells in a safe manner!" The elf shouted.
Bell let out a sigh, he was about to get very busy. "Just keep the barrier up, I'll take care of them!"
He looked to the Infant dragons again, they were small orange creatures, well small for dragons at least. With a height of only 7'4 but their lack of height was mitigated by its length of over 13 feet. It had no wings but could still easily breathe fire. They were supposed to be rare, being counted as the boss for the upper floors where a Monster Rex doesn't spawn. And has an estimated combat level of two.
'Two Minotaur and three dragons, seems like something out of Grandpa's storybooks.'
The brief moment of respite seemed to allow the monsters to regroup. Bell got into his fighting stance and waited to see which monster would make the first move.
It was a Minotaur, and with a mighty roar, it charged toward Bell. The boy narrowed his eyes, before quickly turning on his heel and running away.
The Minotaur gave chase, eager to catch its fleeing prey. It had nowhere to run, trapped between the barrier and the walls surrounding it.
But Bell thought differently, once reaching one of the walls he pressed his foot against it and did a backflip. He easily flipped over the Minotaur and landed behind it. The bipedal cow didn't stop in time and slammed horn first into the wall.
Bell was quick to capitalize on this. Pulling his fist back and slamming it into the back of the monster's head. The Minotaur's face went further into the wall leaving it stuck, and enraged. Tugging and pulling trying to wretch itself free.
But Bell couldn't go for the kill as he jumped over the other Minotaur. He noticed one of the dragons with its mouth open, an orange glow residing inside it.
Bell was quick to run away, the maw of the beast following him. Fire shot out and Bell could feel the heat of the flames behind him.
But he quickly turned to his left running next to the dragon's head. It stopped breathing fire, its target leaving its line of sight.
Which Bell took advantage of by jumping into the air. He locked his fists together before slamming them into the dragon's snout.
It huffed in pain and Bell quickly slid under the middle one. He popped up in front of the one on the right and quickly punched it in the eye.
Purple and white liquid covered his hand as the dragon roared in pain. Its eye exploding against Bell's fist.
The boy landed on the ground with a roll. He shot back up to his feet, and was backhanded by the second Minotaur.
Bell tasted blood on his lip before the wound was healed. But he couldn't stop himself from stumbling back.
His body was then engulfed in flames, and Bell gritted his teeth in pain as he felt his flesh melt away.
The high elf who was holding the barrier forced herself to watch as the boy she condemned to death died. Screams of people sounded all around her as they tried to escape. But the high elf held firm in keeping the barrier up.
'I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.' She thought. Begging for forgiveness in her mind.
But when the flames died down Bell was still standing. His skin singed but his body glowed green and mended his wounds.
His shirt, along with his shoes were burned away. But thankfully only the bottom part of his pants were gone. Leaving him in a makeshift pair of shorts with the ends burned.
The high elf and the monsters looked shocked at the boy's survival. The high elf was even more so since she had seen that magic before.
With a turn of his head, Bell glared at the Infant Dragon that set him ablaze, and something akin to fear etched onto the monster's face.
Without a single word, Bell jumped toward the beast, his fists locked together again as he bashed them into the dragon's snout.
The dragon's head slammed into the ground and bounced up, but Bell punched it again and held its head on the ground.
He jammed his foot into its jaw, then grabbed the top part with his hands. Pushing his foot down and raising his arms he ripped the dragon's maw in two.
The beast sputtered, and then died shortly after. Purple blood covered Bell's body as another wave of fire engulfed him.
This time a groan escaped his lips, but it was more annoyance than pain. His magic had already begun healing the burns and mending the flesh.
When the fire stopped Bell grabbed the bottom of the dead dragon's jaw and tossed it at the one who had just lit him on fire again.
The head collided with the dragon, causing it to shake its head and stumble. Bell jumped up once more. His pants having completely burned away now, but he didn't seem to care.
He grabbed onto one of the horns, before swinging himself up and standing on its head. Tightening his grip Bell pushed himself up before pulling himself down.
His feet went through the dragon's head and crushed its skull, killing the beast almost instantly.
Bell pulled himself out and jumped down. Ducking under a punch from a Minotaur, before springing up and wrapping his arms around its waist. He lifted the beast and slammed it to the ground.
Then placing his foot on its chest he grabbed the Minotaur's horns, and with a yell ripped its head off.
Purple blood once more covered Bell's body, along with the sand as he held the Minotaur's head. At this point, the first Minotaur had finally wrenched its head free from the wall.
Only to see a naked Bell, standing there covered in purple blood. And holding the head of its brethren.
Bell wasted no time and threw the head like a javelin. A second later the horns impaled the Minotaur's throat and the beast died.
Leaving only one infant dragon remaining.
The monster felt something akin to fear in its throat. This human, a being who was supposed to be food for it. So easily killed its monster brethren, like lambs in a slaughterhouse.
And no matter what was done to it. The human wouldn't die, even as his skin was melted away he still stood. With anger flowing through him like a tidal wave.
This human was pissed.

Bell wasted no time in running forward. The dragon opened its maw to breathe fire. In some vain hope, it would work this time.
But Bell slid to the side and shot up to his feet. The fire missed him and Bell jumped up, kneeing the monster in the jaw.
But the beast had rolled with the blow to lessen the impact. Causing its tail to fly up and hit Bell in the stomach.
The boy went flying, his back slamming into the ground and scraping across the sand. Skin tore away but was quickly healed as he stood back up.
The dragon ran forward, trying to keep up its attack. It swung its tail again, hoping to slam Bell into the wall.
But Bell caught the tail, sliding back a few feet as he brought the limb to a stop. The dragon tried to pull away but Bell held firm as he began to move.
It was slow at first, the dragon tried to resist being moved. But it had already lost the battle the second Bell grabbed its tail.
And all Bell had to do was move in a circle. The dragon dug its claws into the ground, but all that did was delay the inevitable. As after a single minute the dragon was being spun around in the air.
Getting more and more speed as Bell kept spinning and spinning. Everything soon became a blur to the small dragon. And once Bell got enough speed he let go.
Sending the dragon soaring through the air, and head-first into the barrier. The resulting thud, and then crash turned the dragon's brain to mush. Letting the dead beast slide down the barrier, a purple trail of blood in its wake.

Bell huffed and puffed as his anger ebbed away. His adrenaline wore off as the fight was over. He was covered from head to toe in slimy purple blood.
His clothes had burned away from the fire the dragons spewed. Leaving him no decency as he caught his breath.
He glanced up to the stands, looking at the high elf who had a scarlet red blush on her face. Not even bothering to look at him as she kept the barrier up.
"Hey! The monsters are dead! So you can please-
The ground from under Bell's feet burst open and a giant plant-like creature popped out. Its head was circular and surrounded by petals with razor-sharp teeth in its mouth.
Vines made up its entire body as it swayed from side to side unnaturally. It eyed Bell and before the boy could even react.
A vine pierced through his side and came out its back. Impacting the sand and causing dust to spring up from the sheer speed it had shot out.
I changed the height of the infant dragons cause I looked on the wiki and they're only 150 centimeters. Which is 4'9 when it comes to feet and inches. So not only would Bell be taller than them. They'd be dwarfs compared to him so I upped the height.
Well, Bell had fun at a WWE event on steroids and had his first churro. Then beat the shit out of a bunch of monsters while also being burned alive twice. And pulled the classic Super Mario 64 move on a dragon.
And then, to top it all off he doesn't have any clothes and just got stabbed by a weird plant monster. His day went from fun to shitty pretty quickly.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you all later.
