Loud noises of fighting rung out in the Weeping Willow of the Lake in Fontaine's Erinnyes Forest at night.
Those sounds came from none other than the Traveler who has saved five out of the seven regions of Teyvat, Aether, and the Champion Duelist of Fontaine, Clorinde. They're in combat with Hilichurls for a commission from the Adventure's Guild to stop a Hilichurl horde from disrupting the quiet forest.
With her superior skills, Clorinde would've easily taken this job alone, but actually requested Aether AND Aether alone to assist her to his surprise. but Paimon knew something else and managed to slip away to let the two handle the commission without any fuss.
In the present moment, the two were making short work of the Hilichurls easily with their masterful swordplay.
The regular Hilichurls were no problem to them. Not even the Pyro and Cryo types could give the two trouble.
Things soon got a little complicated when those Hilichurls were backed by two Hydro Hilichurl Rogues and a Blazing Axe Mitachurl.
"Well, this might be a challenge." Aether said.
"I'll handle the Rogues. Think you can take the Mitachurl?" Clorinde asked.
"Two of them at once? One can already be quite the challenge." Aether warned.
"I can handle them. Trust me." Clorinde assured.
Aether decided to put his faith in Clorinde and immediately charged against the Mitachurl.
Back to Clorinde, she started fighting the Hilichurl Rogues without warning.
The two Rogues tried to swing their water-enhanced scythes together in a cross formation to cut off Clorinde, who easily dodged by jumping over them.
?effortlessly dodged by jumping over the two with incredible leg strength through a frontal flip and landed safely behind them.
Clorinde activated her Elemental Skill Hunter's Vigil and make quick work of the Hilichurl Rogues with amazing striking speed using the first part of Swift Hunt before finishing them off with Impale the Night without mercy.
Clorinde putting away her pistol and turned to see Aether, who switched to his Hydro Vision, slightly struggling against the Mitachurl in a fierce fight.
But Clorinde wasn't about to let anything happen to him and charged in with ferocity, blocking a strike from its' blazing axe before Aether quickly joined in and kicked the Mitachurl in the face to force it back.
"Thanks for the assist." Aether said.
"Told you I can handle them." Clorinde said.
"Then why don't we finish him together." Aether said, getting into a stance as the Mitachurl was starting to get back up.
"Gladly." Clorinde said.
The Mitachurl was up and ready to attack, but to its shock, Aether and Clorinde were already a step ahead.
With a combination of their respective Elemental Bursts Rising Waters and Last Lightfall, the Traveler and Marechaussee Hunter finished off the Mitachurl in a split second, effectively completing the commission.
"That takes care of that." Aether said, putting his sword away, as did Clorinde.
But before he could leave, Clorinde took his hand, to his surprise.
"C-Clorinde?" Aether asked.
"Can I at least say like one or two things to you first. I feel like I might not get another chance to say them again." Clorinde answered, and Aether didn't need to ask why for some reason.
Clorinde took a deep breath; in-and-out.
"Now or never." Clorinde thought.
"First, I want to thank you for everything in Fontaine. Especially with helping Navia and Furina during their worst moments." Clorinde explained.
"Of course! I'd do anything for my friends!" Aether hollered, feeling flattered.
Clorinde nodded and made her next move by moving her hands to his cheeks and cupping his face, to his bewildered expression.
"And second…" Clorinde said, slowly leaning in until her lips were on Aether's.
Aether was completely shocked by the sudden kiss the Champion Duelist gave him, but decided to go along with it and joined in, leaving his hands on her hips while moving his mouth deeper in.
The kiss between the two lasted for like 2 minutes before they both let go for oxygen. Both were red-faced, but that moment was all Aether needed to know what Clorinde was going to say for her second speech.
"You know… your lips are really sweet." Aether commented.
"Is that flattery?" Clorinde asked, almost taking offense.
"Uh…" Aether said, having a sweat drop on his forehead.
Clorinde chuckled.
"Don't worry. I can take a joke." Clorinde commented, which Aether felt relieved.
The two started to hold hands as they began walking back to the Court of Fontaine as a couple.

Watching from a long distance using some specially-made binoculars, Paimon, Navia and Furina were all watching with Cheshire-like grins on their faces, enjoying the show.
"Our Champion's finally got a man." Furina and Navia thought in unison.
"I'm so proud of my Traveler." Paimon thought.
There is very little moments between Clorinde and the Traveler so I wanted to try my hand in this, with a fight scene in the mix.
