Alrighty, another update for My Wolf Academia. You'll notice this update isn't as big as previous one. That's in part as I've had much of a chance to work on it as the previous updates. The last time I had an entire three day weekend where practically the only thing I focused on was this stories. Haven't made the time to do something like that again, but I can promise the next time this story get a update, it will be a bigger one.
But enough of that's lets get on with the story.
The next morning Izuku woke up with a jolt, Sunday morning, a chance to relax and not have to stress about anything. He recalled the date he had had with Momo the night before, he enjoyed the perfume she had worn and she looked beautiful in the clothes she had decided to wear. Then he called the wolf necklace she had gotten, at the time Izuku had panicked thinking about the different implications of what it meant. But now that he had gotten a full night's sleep he realized he was just stressing over nothing, it was a pretty necklace and it had fit Momo.
Izuku yawned as he kicked the blanket and sheet off of him, he didn't have any plans for the day. He was just going to be lazy all day, then his phone began to buzz. Izuku ignored it and rolled back into his bed. It was a few minutes until his phone buzzed again, Izuku moaned and tried to reach to silent it, but his hand fell short. Then his phone began to play a ringtone that Kei had managed to set up.
Izuku moaned as he shifted across his bed and grabbed his phone. He flipped it and hit the "Answer" button.
"Yo, buddy, are you awake yet?" Kei asked.
"I think the fact I didn't answer your texts and you had to call should have answered that." Izuku said in a groggy voice and then yawned.
"Damn, how late did you stay out with Yaoyorozu." Kei laughed, "Must have been one hell of a first date."
"What do you need? It's sunday." Izuku said as he flopped back down onto his bed.
"Precisely it's sunday. We're supposed to be meeting All Star at the beach in two hours." Kei said.
"What." Izuku said as he grabbed his phone and looked at the time; 10:05, "Crap."
"Yeah that makes it sound like I made the right choice to call you." Kei said, then Izuku heard the sound of a bike bell being rung and then a car horn disappearing into the distance, "I'm headed over. You better be ready."
"You don't have to remind me." Izuku said as he got out of bed and raced over to his dress to pull out a fresh pair of cleans.
"Yeahhhh, I kind of already had to. See you buddy." Kei said and then the call ended.
Izuku quickly slipped into his t-shirt and then tried to slip into his jeans both legs at the same time. However, this resulted in him crashing to the floor. Izuku began to cough as the air was forced out of his lungs. Once Izuku was about to breath again he quickly pulled his pants up and grabbed a belt from the floor.
After securing the belt Izuku grabbed his phone and a pair of socks. Rushing downstairs, Izuku entered the kitchen to get something to eat. Luckily he found some leftover chick which he began to quickly consume.
"Izuku is that you." Inko called out from the stairs.
Izuku quickly swallowed the chicken in his mouth and said, "Yeah mom."
"It sounded like you fell, are you alright?" Inko asked.
Izuku grabbed the last piece of chicken and closed the refrigerator, "I'm good."
"Where are you off to in such a rush, It's sunday. Shouldn't you be recovering from your game last night, I heard you were a big help in winning." Inko called out.
"Huh, yeah I guess so. But huh- no I'm alright, I just slept in a little late. And Kei and I are going to head out." Izuku said as he took a bite of the chicken.
"Where are you two headed on a sunday?" Inko asked.
"Uh the beach." Izuku said.
"Takoba beach, isn't that place a waste dump?" Inko called out and then footsteps came to come down the stairs.
"Well not exactly Takoba but the general area." Izuku said with a little bit of chicken left in his mouth.
"Oh," Inko said as she came across the corner wearing sweats and a fluffy bathrobe, "Just be safe out there, I heard from Chief Keitaro that there might be a serial killer on the loose."
Izuku just smiled, his mother always worried about him, often a bit too much but he wouldn't ask her to be any different.
"We'll be careful mother and we come across him, I'll just make sure to be faster than Kei." Izuku said.
"I'm sure Kei will find a way to keep up." Inko then kissed Izuku on the forehead, "Just be safe."
"I will mom." Izuku said as he grabbed a water bottle from the cabinet and filled it with water. Once it was full Izuku turned off the facet and screwed the cap on, he then headed out to the front porch to wait. As he waited he put his socks and shoes on
A few minutes later, Kei came down the hill and turned into the driveway.
"We on?" Kei asked as he held his arms out to the side.
"We on." Izuku said as he walked down to the driveway and grabbed his fixed bike. Kei began to pedal back up the hill and Izuku quickly followed him. They leisurely biked through town until Takoba beach came into view. As expected there wasn't any car in the old run down parking lot, which had pot holes scattered throughout it. And as they got close the horizon disappeared behind the mountains of trash.
Kei and Izuku directed their bikes to a rusted over pole that was meant to lock the bike to. They attached the locks to the pole and then walked over to the edge of the parking lot and looked over the beach.
"I don't even see a speck of sand." Kei said.
The sound of an engine caught both of their attention and Izuku and Kei turned around to see an old american pick up truck, with more rust on its body than faded green paint, pull in. It pulled into a spot not too far from them and Toshinori stepped out.
"Good to see you two here early." Toshinori grabbed a clipboard and then closed the car door.
"It's nothing like I would have expected but at the same time it makes perfect sense." Kei said as he turned his head to look at Izuku.
Toshinori made a confused face and Izuku answered, "He's talking about your truck. Not the first car that comes to mind when thinking about what type All Might drives."
Toshinori looked over his shoulder at his old pick up, "It's reliable."
"And the last one a thief would consider stealing." Kei sarcastically said and Toshinori shook his head
"What's the idea here?" Izuku said, looking back at the many trash piles that had overtaken the beach.
"Strength training. Before you receive my quirk we have to make your body strong enough. Otherwise your limbs could pop off." Toshinori said and Kei made a face that said he should have expected that, because how less could the world's most powerful quirk be dangerous, "So, every weekend, you'll be coming here and clearing trash. You will bring it up here in the parking lot, where I then call the city to bring a disposal team to take it."
"Strength training, then why not just give Midoriya a gym membership." Kei said.
"Something that many pro heroes forget the base of being a pro hero is doing community service. Many see that as saving the day, but community service can do many things, one being cleaning up trash." Toshinori then brought the clipboard out from under his arm, "But improving your strength doesn't just come with lifting weights: diet and recovery is just as important."
Toshinori handed the clipboard to Izuku, who took it and looked it over. There were schedules for when Izuku would do extra exercise, the difference of food that was best to eat to increase muscle growth and how much sleep he would need to get.
"I call it the "American Dream Plan to Pass." Toshinori said.
"You even took into account when I would have lacrosse practice." Izuku said as he continued to flip through the papers.
"I'm glad you like it, however, I must warn you, it's going to be difficult. We don't have much time until UA's entrance exam and I had to cut some items out." Toshinori said.
Izuku let go of the papers , letting them fall back down on the clipboard, he then looked at Toshinori and said, "I'm sure I'll be able to handle it." Izuku was supposed to take today to recover from the game last night, but he didn't feel sore and with how easily he was biking, his werewolf side must have accelerated his healing, not just pertaining to injuries
"Then how about we get started." Toshinori said and led the two boys down on the beach. Where he gave instruction to start on one side of the beach and work the way down until about 80 of the beach. Izuku and Kei began with picking up smaller items, such as table and chairs, but when it got to bigger items such as the couch and refrigerator, Kei walked to the rock wall and sat down.
While Izuku continued to try to pull a couch that was half hidden by the sand, Toshinori walked over to Kei and asked, "Aren't you going to join Midoriya in training for the UA's entrance exam?"
"Oh you don't get it." Kei said in a breathless voice, "I'm not going to try for the hero entrance exam. I'm actually just planning on applying for their general course."
"Really." Tohsinori said. It was rare to come across any young kid that wanted nothing more than to become a pro hero, so Toshinori was caught off guard a Kei so easily dismissed a dream shared among the youth of the day, "I'm sure you would be good pro heroes, even if you quirk isn't…."
"Are you the same man that told my friend that quirkless couldn't be heroes." Kei interrupted Toshinori, causing the hidden pro hero to flinch, he continued with, "Yeah Midoirya didn't miss that and told me. Nigh Impossible I believe ws how you described it."
"You must understand, I-I, I was at a low moment when I said that. Your friend just figured out about my weakness, I-I-I." Toshinori sighed and pulled down the two strands of hair that hung in front of his face, "I didn't mean to portray it the way I did. I mean look at him, the strongest man alive and I can still be injured.
Kei just sighed, "Just find the time to explain it to Izuzku, before it comes back to bite any of us in the butt." Kei then paused and looked over the trash piles, "And beside my quirks isn't really suitable for heroics."
"That is a ridiculous notion, there are many pro heroes who's quirk at first glance isn't suited. Even underground pro heroes, take Eraserhead for an example." Toshinori said then paused as Eraserhead was known for avoiding the media and Toshinori had really only learned about him since applied for a secret position, "Do you know who Eraserhead is?'
"Underground pro heroes, quirk Eraser. He can stop anyone within his eyesight from using their quirks." Kei said and smirked a bit at the look of surprise on Toshinori's face.
Toshinori let go of his hair and said, "Then you understand my point. I'm sure whatever your quirk is, you can find a use for it." Toshinori then looked over and saw Izuku struggling with a couch that was stuck in the sand.
"Key Master." Kei said and Toshinori looked back at Kei, "That's what I call it, Key Master." -Kei then reached into his pocket and pulled out a blank, uncut key and tossed it to Toshinori, "Whenever I insert a blank key into a lock it morphs into the shape needed to unlock the door. But that's not all, still the term 'lock' and 'key' are loose to my quirks. It requires a key, any kind of lock, my quirks can hack it. Computer password, number pads, the only thing that stops me is an electronic fab."
"Oh." That was quite the unique type of quirk that Toshinori had ever heard, but an idea immediately came to mind, "That could be useful for an underground hero, being able to sneak into any villain's hideout without tripping alarms."
"Maybe, but I've never really had the dream of being a pro hero. I've never seen it in the cards for me." Kei said.
"What do you mean by that?" Toshinori asked.
Kei briefly thought about his mother and his smile dropped for a second but then he said, "Just never seen it. It said that some people were born for the light while others are born for the dark. I think fate forgot about me when I was born."
Toshinori paused as he thought about Kei's words, he was familiar with the saying Kei was referencing. Something that his late mentor once brought when Tohsinori had tried to understand why All For One acted the way he did.
"Then I guess that means the only one who gets to write your fate is you." Toshinori said, thinking about how he had taken Izuku now for a successor, maybe Principal Nezu would be interested in having a conversion with Kei. A thought for later as he turned to Izuku and called, "Come where's that strength I saw at the game. You were dropping guys nearly twice your size just for the game.'
"You were there last night." Izuku called, suddenly worried that All Might had seen him nearly shift and give into his wolf side.
"I'm taking great interest in my successor's life. So where is that strengthen your display?" Toshinori asked.
"Um, I don't actually have control over my strength. It appears every now and then, when I'm angry mostly." Izuku said as he let go of the couch as it hadn't moved an inch.
"So get angry." Toshinori said.
"Yeah, Izuku isn't exactly someone who gets angry easily." Kei said as he picked himself off the ground.
"Then find something else. Dig deep, and clench your butt with your heart yell, PLUS ULTRA." Toshinori said, transforming into All Might for the last bit.
"Plus ultra huh." Izuku said as he looked at the couch. He closed his eyes and gripped the fabric of the couch. He took slow breaths as he tried to think of what plus ultra meant to him.
On the edge of the beach Toshinori had transformed back and Kei said, "Clench your butt and yell with your heart?'
"Works for me." Toshinori said and Kei just shook his head.
Izuku's mind rushed through everything as he had experienced since becoming a werewolf. His strength came and went, when he got angry but there was something else that Izuku had thought during those moments. Izuku tried to figure out what it was, but he couldn't think of anything. But did it really matter, all of that was in the past, now he had a chance to become a pro hero and be trained by All Might.
If Izuku couldn't rely on his werewolf strength, then he would build his own. Izuku gritted his teeth and his hands tightened against the couch fabric and he began to pull. His hands were immediately greeted by the weight of the couch and all the sand on it, but Iuku refused to give up. He had given so much in the past, but he was done giving up. Izuku tightened his hands and pulled ever hard, a roar began to build in his chest.
Izuku felt his eyes begin to glow, so he opened them as he felt the couch begin to shift between his hands. Izuku looked down and saw the couch beginning to come up. Izuku didn't let his surprise steal away his strength as he continued to pull the couch out. He didn't stop until the couch was fully out of the sand.
Dropping the couch to the sand, Izuku let out a heavy breath and he looked over at Toshinori and Kei. Toshinori had a look of surprise while Kei just gave his two thumbs. Izuku felt his chest burning so he grabbed his shirt and pulled it off. Izuku dropped his shirt to the ground and stood tall, he then looked down at his chest and abs, only to see they were beginning to gain some definition.
Toshinori was surprised when Izuku's face began to shift and when his eyes began to glow yellow. But then the couch began to move out of the sand, and Izuku lifted it above his hands. As Izuku pulled off his shirt, his face shifted back to normal and his eyes stopped slowly. Toshinori couldn't help but think about what had caused Izuku to suddenly become so strong.
"I'll take this up to the parking lot and then start on the other items." Izuku said as he grabbed one edge of the couch and began dragging it across the sand. Once he got to the cemented pathway, it got a bit easier to drag the couch since the sand wasn't having to be moved out of the way, but it became harder to hold onto the couch as the uneven ground made it jump around.
After dropping off the couch, Izuku headed back down and continued to clean up the beach. Over the next two hours Kei helped with some items, but it was mostly Izuku cleaning up the beach. When Izuku finally collsipe to the ground with exhaustion, he had picked up enough trash to make an area big enough to play volleyball.
While Kei brought him his water bottle, Toshinori looked around the area and said, "You've done much better than I initially thought. Whenever you seemed like you were tired, you continued to work hard and clean the beach. Now get home and rest up."
Izuku gave a breathless nod and Kei helped him up to his feet. Izuku then put a lot of his weight on Kei as they walked up the path to the parking lot. Before they disappeared Toshinro called out, "And make sure you stick to the schedule."
Toshinori heard some kind of words of agreement, but it was airer. As the sounders of bike tires rolled away, Toshinori pulled out his phone to call the city to pick up the trash, he felt a pair of eyes on him. Years of fighting told Toshinori to buff up to his hero form and track the person down, but the years he had fought against his injury made him slow down for a second.
Toshinori focused on the feeling, noticing that it didn't feel hostile, well not to the level that would be expected from a villain watching him. No, the feeling felt more cautious and perhaps a bit of curiosity. Honing on the feeling Toshinori turned and saw a man wearing a black jacket standing at the edge of the parking lot. This man in black was looking down at him and as they locked eyes Toshinori saw the man's eyes glow blue.
At first Toshinori thought it was a trick of the light but then he remembered how Izuku's eyes glowed yellow. And Principal Nezu had said that Izuku was the beta and that their alpha was never far from their betas. Was the blue eyes indicating this man was the alpha and the one that had been causing his successor some much stress lately?
Then without warning, the man in black turned away and disappeared from sight.
Shoving down the curious want to follow the man, Toshinori hit the dial and informed the city that some of the trash at Tokabe beach had been cleared and was ready to be picked up.
As Kuriam walked away from the beach he realized how much trouble Izuku was in. Alpha werewolves weren't one that liked having their beta taken from them, that's precisely what it looked like All Might was trying to do. Kuriam had hoped that maybe it was just going to be some lessons and then the symbol of peace would move on but that wasn't what Kuriam was seeing. And the alpha was going to be able to sense it as well, so the next time they called upon Izuku it wasn't going to end up pretty.
The alpha would make it known that Izuku was his beta and no one was allowed to claim him. With the old alpha Kuriam was sure that Izuku would either be forced to kill someone or would be the one killed.
Walking away from the beach Izuku and Kei made a detour to get some drinks. While Kei got a soda, Izuku got some hot cider. As he drank the cider, Izuku could feel the warmth of it spread throughout his body, his muscles relaxed and he didn't feel so out of breath.
"Need your inhaler." Kei asked, having noticed how short of breath his friend had been for the past few minutes.
"No I'm good, I think my body hadn't realized it wasn't requiring so much oxygen as before." Izuku said and then took another sip of his drink.
With their drink almost empty and Izuku feeling more refreshed, the two of them began heading to Kei house. As they walked they finished their drinks and disposed of them in a city trash bin. At Kei's house, he made sure Izuku had All Might's training schedule and had him promise to follow one last time.
With a sarcastic, "Yes." Izuku left his friend's house and headed back to his own. Over the following week Izuku did his best to stick to the training schedule, that is to say that he never missed a day but often he did a few extra reps before he felt that he could handle them. He was able to pay attention in school and he and Momo began to hang out more.
Yet just as it seems things began to settle down, a new player decided to come onto the board. It was Sundy late at night, underground and night time pro heroes had been patrolling for two hours and the moon was starting to climb high into the sky. It was a quiet night, which was a rarity in the world of super heroes.
The only sound was a lone car driving down a back road right outside the main city. The driver was a woman and as there was a stop sign pulling out, she applied the brake to slow down the car. Rolling to stop the woman looked around to make sure she was clear to go through the intersection when something heavy landed on the roof of her car, causing the ceiling to bend in.
Without any panic the woman quickly dropped her hand down to a pistol that she had within the center console. She hadn't heard any noise about a villain on the run and when a low growl came from the roof of her car she realized what it was. Her hand quickly shot up and she was able to pull the trigger on her gun when a large hairy arm came through the window.
The large hand grabbed her arm and tried to pull her out of the car. The woman yelled as the claws cut through her jacket and got her arm. She dropped the pistol but then reached into her jacket and pulled out a dagger. She rammed into the hairy arm and before the creature had a chance to run away, she pulled out the dagger and stabbed a different part of the arm, closer to the wrist.
The creature finally let go of her and with a growl jumped off her car. Acting quickly the woman got out of her car and hurried to her trunk. She opened the trunk and before the door was fully opening she leaned inside and pulled the floor of the trunk open, revealing a hidden compartment that was loaded with bullets and different guns.
The woman grabbed an assault rifle that had a silencer on it. She then grabbed a magazine that had bullets with light blue tips and slipped into the assault rifle. Chambering a round the woman brought the gun up to her shoulder and began hunting the creature that had attacked her. She held footsteps coming from an old brick build that was scheduled to be torn down.
Slipping through a cut in the fence, the woman pulled out her phone and sent a text to her brother, Rean Yaoyorozu.
At the Yaoyorozu household, Momo was looking through an old memory box of her when she heard footsteps going down the hallway. Recognizing them as her father's Momo quickly got off the bed and hurried over to her door. When she opened it she saw her father heading down the stairs.
"Has Aunt Renoa arrived yet." Momo said excited to see her aunt that she had seen in a few years. They always got into trouble when Momo was younger but always got away with it, Aunt Renoa had said it was because she was her grandfather's favorite.
"She's a few minutes away, but she's having a car problem. A flat tire, I'm headed out to help." Mr Yaoyorozu said.
"Oh alright." Momo said.
"Now go to bed, she'll be here when you wake up." Mr Yaoyorozu said.
Momo sighed as she closed her door and went back to her bed. Put the memory box on the floor Momo got under the cover and then turned off her lamp. She guessed even werewolf hunters to deal with everyday problems.
Back at the brick building, Renoa was quietly stepping through the open area between the smaller building. The sound of footsteps echoed through the complex, making it hard to tell from which direction they were coming from. But then Renoa caught shadow climbing a wall, she quickly trained her gun on it, but it was moving too fast for a clean shot. The thin silhouette climbed onto the roof of the building and then looked around.
Renoa followed the silhouette's focus and saw a large hairy beast disappear from sight. The silhouette then began running towards where the large hairy beast, Renoa, quickly followed the silhouette and as it jumped to the next building Renoa pulled the trigger. The bullet quickly soared through the air and hit the silhouette in the left arm.
Yet before Renoa could follow to kill, an SUV pulled through an open gate and into the open air. The headlight turned off and Rean Yaoyorozu stepped out, "Get in."
"Nice to see you too brother. Didn't think you would get here so quickly." Renoa said as she dropped the assault rifle and looked at her brother, "Not the warmest welcome I've gotten from you."
"This isn't America, you can't go around gun crazy. A pro hero sees you with a gun, they'll have every right to search your car. Your stash alone will land you in jail for life, everything just makes it worse." Mr Yaoyorozu said in a tired but rough tone "So please put the assault rifle away before someone sees it."
"That's the leader dad saw in you. Rean, there were two of them. The big hairy one was the one that attacked my car. I shot the thin one, but didn't have much luck with the big one." Renoa said
"The alpha." Mr Yaoyorzu said.
"Your guess is as good as mine." Renoa said.
"Well the beta is the only one that can lead us to the alpha. He isn't good to us if he's dead." Mr. Yaoyorozu.
"Then that's going to be a problem." Renoa said as she pulled the magazine and showed the tipped bullets she had used, "I give him 48 hours at best." Mr Yaoyoruz grunted and Renoa scoffed, "What does it matter, it will be one less werewolf we have to deal with."
In a small alleyway, Izuku quickly pushed off the wall and took off running. There was a new hunter in town, Mr Yaoyorozu's sister and she didn't seem as polite as he did. She was the 'Shoot first, don't worry about question' kind of hunter. Izuku liked to believe that he was going to be able to handle Momo'a father but her aunt, that was going to cause some complications.
