Prologue
My name is Amilee Potter. It's pronounced Ah-mi-leh. Not Amelia, not Emily, Amilee. My father was James Potter, and my mother was Lily Potter. I am Harry Potter's twin sister. I have wild black hair that softly curls. I have been told that I have my mother's eyes. I guess I look like the girl version of my brother. I have a scar on my face. Like my brother. Except, mine is a long mark that cuts through my face from my right temple to my chin.
We have always been told that we are the chosen ones. That, our parents were killed by Voldemort in 1981. We have always been told that what happened that night was a tragedy, or that we are miracles. According to the stories, when we were only 1 year old, on Halloween night, Voldemort came to our small cottage in Godric's Hollow and killed our parents. He tried to kill my brother and I but he failed. We were the first ones in history to survive this curse. Avada Kedavra. The Killing curse. That is why we are famous.
Tonight is the night before I turn 11 years old. I am expecting my letter to Hogwarts in the morning. I have grown up with a kind family. Others tell me that they are cruel and that they are sorry I've had to grow up this way. I don't see what they mean. When Harry and I were adopted, we were separated. As we've grown older we've gotten back in contact. I have grown up with the Malfoys. My adopted brother is Draco. We are the best of friends. We are inseparable. I do not know why the Malfoys adopted me though. They serve Voldemort. The one who separated my family. Even though they serve Voldemort, I have had a fantastic childhood. Draco and I pull the best pranks. We have been told that we will give the Weasley twins, Fred and George, a run for their money. Harry has grown up with the Weasleys. My family's mortal enemies. They are Mudblood lovers. Mudbloods are witches and wizards who are not of wizarding descent.
