Age 768
It had been about a year since Gohan defeated Cell and Goku died, Vegeta was sitting in his room, thinking to himself. His pride was completely destroyed. He vowed that he would never fight again. But keeping that vow was easier said than done. Vegeta missed fighting, he missed training, he missed Kakarot. His saiyan nature craved battle, but he had nothing to fight for anymore. "How did Kakarot always surpass me?" he kept asking himself that question over and over again. It bothered him ever since Goku easily defeated the Ginyu Force on Namek. Was it that he trained harder? Was the universe playing a big practical joke on him? Whatever the case, Vegeta knew one thing, he needed to train and fight again. But without Kakarot, it would all feel pointless. Bulma then walked into the room, holding Trunks. She could tell something was wrong. "Are you ok Vegeta?" She asked. Vegeta just scoffed, proudly saying that he was fine. Bulma could see right through him, but she knew that trying to get him to open up was a losing battle. So she said "ok" walked out of the room. "What is it about that woman?" He wondered to himself? He wasn't used to love. He grew up in a culture dominated by strength, attachments were for the weak. They sent their weakest children to far off worlds for conquest. His father and mother were never close to each other, nor close to him. So why was he upset when Cell killed Future Trunks? Why does he feel so strange when Bulma is around? He's almost becoming like… Kakarot. Was this why he always surpassed him? Was this what he was lacking? Maybe, he should try growing closer to Bulma and Trunks.
