Chapter ?; Escape Fail

In the middle of the night, in a big city, helicopters were flying to a casino that had a cowgirl holding a scale with a big Win on one side. Inside the alarm was ringing and people were starting to panic. Everyone was looking around, trying to figure out who triggered the alarm, they didn't see two figures jumping around in the lights. Soon men in black suits entered the place and the two figures stopped and showed them. One was a man with black wearing a black clock, red gloves, holding a briefcase and had a white mask covering his face and next to him was an orange dog with spikes around its neck and one over his head. Soon the suits saw him and went after them. The man then said to the man dog. "Looks like the plan is going along smoothly. Are you ready to go, Lycanroc?"

[We can go, after you ditch that briefcase, Joker.] Lycanroc said in poketalk to Joker, as he opened a vent. Joker then put the vent into it and they both ran away. "Good. Now get running!" A boyish voice said over Joker coms. Then a boy's voice said to them. "This is our only chance!"

"Stay calm! You can get away now!" A girl's voice said to him, before another girl's voice said to him. "We'll retrieve the briefcase on our end." Then a mysterious transmission appeared over the coms. The others were worried about it, but their leader wasn't. Joker and Lycanroc started looking for an exit, but suits were trying to stop them. Soon they were in a big open area and the men in suits surrounded them. They won't worry, even if the guys in suits got bigger and had a mask now. Joker and Lycanroc jumped behind the one that was behind them. Joker landed on the guy and pulled off his mask and Lycanroc pushed him away. A dark aura started to pour out of the guy and then he turned into a bull man riding a snake body. Joker then summoned a man with black wing who released a shadow that knocked it down and Lycanroc finished it off with blinding speed. That was an easy victory, but they didn't have time to celebrate. More men in suits with masks appeared and attacked. Luckily they were able to jump onto another platform and then to another level. The girl's voice then said to them. "Joker, Lycanroc! Behind you!"

[What!?] Lycanroc said as they turned around and saw an open door. "Go through that door!" The girl said and they went through it. In the hall the girl said to them. "You two should be able to get out that way! Hurry!"

"Dude, can they even hear us?!" A boy said and the girl said. "Don't worry, I'm picking everyone's voice. Just go, Joker, Lycanroc! Hm? Wait a sec!"

"What is it?" Another female voice said and the first girl voice said. "I'm getting weird reading heading your way!"

[Just our luck.] Lycanroc said as they ran around looking for an exit. The men in suits were trying to find them, but they weren't having any luck. Some of them even passed them as they were hiding. It wasn't until they walked into another abuse did they find them, but they weren't the only ones to find them. Joker and Lycanroc saw a lady walking in. The human had red-haired that was wearing a female version of Joker's outfit, but had a sword on her wrist and her mask was black and had two small yellow mouse-like Pokemon on her shoulders. The red hair human then said. "We'll end this right now."

[So stand back and watch.] The two yellow Pokemon said before the red one drew a sword. "Joker, Lycanroc, it's them! They're the weird reading we've been getting!" The girl said as the red-haired girl threw her sword into the air and the sword then started to spin. She caught it and threw it at the guy between Joker and Lycanroc. The two yellow Pokemon then fired electricity at it and it not only hit the guy, but paralyzed him too. The other suits then attacked them, but they dodged them with grace and elegance. They then attacked them again, but they not only dodge them again, but fought back. The red-haired girl grabbed a gun out of thin air and shot two of them and the yellow Pokemon shot out more electricity at another two. As they walked over to Joker and Lycanroc, who were impressed, more showed up and like the one before a dark aura surrounded them. She then said to Joker and Lycanroc, as the others turned into monsters. Four were cheetah men, dual weird swords and one a giant bird. "My weak self relied on you so much… That ends today."

[Shall we get started?] Two yellow Pokemon said as the red-haired human kicked her sword out of the guy and into the air and then caught it. "Let's do this, Senpai!" She said as they got ready for action. The bird then fired a wind attack at them, but they dodge it. Then the cheetahs attacked them, but their attack was blocked. Joker blocked it with a knife, Lycanroc blocked it with its spikes. The red-haired girl blocked it with her sword and the two yellow Pokemon blocked it with a yellow bubble that surrounded their body's. They then fought back. Joker pulled out his own gun and shot the cheetah. The red-haired girl slashed him with her sword. Lycanroc and the two yellow Pokemon attack the other cheetahs with great speed. They then combined their powers and finished off the bird. They then put their weapons away and the red-haired girl said to Joker and Lycanroc, as yellow Pokemon jumped onto her shoulders. "I think… that's the last of them?"

"I genuinely have no clue what just happened, but I take it you're okay?" The girl's voice said over the coms. Joker then said to her. "We're fine, we just got some back up."

"Good, wait - bad news! Enemy backup's head your way! You need to book it, right now!"

"Please go. I'm going to make it harder for them to track you down. ...You still have something you need to do as a phantom thief, right?" Joker nodded yes. "Then we won't stop you. Since I'm not a member of the Phantom Thieves, I'm in no position to interfere." The red-haired girl said as she jumped onto a ledge. "However… please don't forget the promise we made, okay?" She said as they left. Before they left, Joker said to Lycanroc. "Lycanroc, can you follow them?"

[What? Why?]

"I would just feel better if you were there."

[Fine, just don't get caught.]

"Thank Lycanroc." Joker said as Lycanroc jumped onto the same ledge and followed them. Joker then ran down the path, avoiding the suits and found himself in a room with a stained glass window. The girl then said to Joker. "The exit should be up ahead."

"Through there…?" He said looking at the window. The girl then said to him. "Nnh...1 That's just how it is. After that commotion, the bottom floor-"

"-completely closed off. Hey, can you make it!?" Another girl said and it was no problem for Joker, even if three suits appeared behind him with their guns out. Joker then ran to the window and jumped out of it while doing flips. His team thought he was just showing off and they were right. Joker then landed right into a trap. Police officers were everywhere and he was covered in spot lights. His team couldn't believe what was happening, but Joker, who took his chance and ran to a fire escape. He thought he was getting away, but there were police officers there too. They then knocked Joker down to the others and captured Joker. One of the officers said to him. "You have your teammate to thank for this. You were sold out."

Location; Integration Room

Hours later, Joker was beaten and drugged inside an integration room to the point that he lost consciousness. "Guess the drug was too strong… Wake him up." One of the detectives said as another one threw a bucket of water onto him, waking him up. Joker looked around and saw three detectives and a camera pointing to him. "No dozing off!" The detective said as Joker realized he was hanged cuffed to a chair. "You still don't get it, do you? Give it up!" The detective said before he kicked him in the gut and was kicked away. Joker started to cough and the detective put his foot onto Joker's head. He then said to Joker and he rubbed his shoe on Joker's face. "Come on, Cooperate. Or what, you want another shot?" The detective then noticed Joker looking at the camera and said. "Huh? What about the camera? Are you thinking it can be used as video evidence?" Joker didn't say anything and the detective said, kicked him in the gut again. "Didn't you hear my question? Answer!" He then took a list of crimes from another detective and said. "Obstruction of justice, blackmail, defamation, possession of weapons… Manslaughter too, yeah? Talk about the works. To think that all those crimes were led by a punk like this… And you seemed to be enjoying every second of it… huh?" Joker didn't answer, thanks to the drug his memories were hazy and he couldn't remember most of it. "...You should know your place." The detective said as other detectives unlocked the handcuffs, picked him up and threw him onto the floor. As Joker rubbed his hand where the handcuffs were, the detective said, giving him a piece of paper and a pen. "Sigh here. It's a confession under your name."

"I understand…" Joker said as he took them, but just before he took the pen, the detective said to Joker. "Don't expect to walk out of here in one piece. We're going to make you understand… One must take full responsibility for their actions…" Joker then took the pen and wrote down his real name "Ren Amamiya".

In the hallway an adult woman with brown eyes, gray hair, in a black business suit holding her purse was going to the interaction room that had Ren. The guard and police detective saw her and the police detective said to her. "Excuse me, but this area's off-"

"I'm Niijima from the Public Prosecutor's Office."

"The Prosecutor's Office? What business do you have here?"

"Just let me through; it's urgent. There's something I need to confirm with the suspect."

"Niijima-san, I believe this case is no longer in your jurisdiction. Beside-"

"Are you Prosecutor Sae Niijima?" An older detective said as he met up with them. They all turned to him and said. "I just got off the phone with your director. Hurry and get it over with. To be frank, you're being an inconvenience." Sae's phone then rang and she picked it up. On the other side was an old man's voice. *sigh* "I thought I ordered you to stand by."

"I'm responsible for this case, yet I'm not even being allowed an interrogation!?"

"I'm calling because I knew you'd bring it up."

"I will not be convinced unless I confirm it for myself. This is MY case."

*sigh* "Good luck to you then. I won't be expecting much though…" The old man said before he hung up. The older detective then said to Sae. "Ah, Prosecutor. I forgot to mention something important. Your time will be cut short. We can't permit you to talk with him for long. It's for your own sake. His methods are unknown. After all, we don't know if it's safe to simply meet and speak with him."

"...I understand." Sae said not happy with it. A few seconds later, the detective left the room after they put Ren back on the chair and pulled out a table and another chair. Sae took a seat and said to Ren. "...I didn't expect it'd be you. You'll be answering my questions this time." Ren didn't say anything and she saw the needle. Sae then said to Ren. "Those bastards… Can you hear me? It seems you've been through a lot. Almost anything can happen here and I can't stop them. That's why I need you to answer me honestly. I don't have much time either. What was your objective? Why did you cause such a major incident? I didn't think it was a prank from the get-go, but I could assemble a case for prosecution. It's because I couldn't figure out the method behind it."

"Of course you couldn't…"

"True. There's no way I could be convinced of such a… "world" just by reading the reports. It seems you're coherent. When and where did you find out about that world? How is it even possible to steal another's heart? Now, tell me your account of everything." Sae said as the room turned dark, the only source of light was a blue butterfly. Then a mysterious voice then said to Ren. "...You are held captive. A prisoner of fate to a future that has been sealed in advance. This is truly an unjust game… Your chances of winning are almost none. But if my voice is reaching you, there may yet be a possibility open to you. I beg you. Please overcome this game and save the world… The key to victory lies within the memories of your bonds- the truth that you, your friend, and your Pokemon grasped. IT all began that day… when the game started half a year ago… For the sake of your world's future… as well as your own… you must remember…" The mysterious said and Ren remembered when it started. He then said to Sae. "Ok, I'll tell you everything, starting with me arriving here in Tokyo and a freak accident in another world."

And done. For this story, here are the speech and thought patterns for the people, Pokemon, Shadows and the Pokedex entry. (People = "Speak" 'Thought' / Pokemon = [Speak] {Thought} / Shadow = "Speak" / Pokedex = Pokemon name and Classification. Type. And data.) Also I will label locations on where the story is. And you'll see more changes in the next chapter. I'll also explain Confidant in a later chapter. Finely I don't want to make a lot of long boring chapters, so I won't be following the days a lot.
