When one thinks of an adventurer, the image that usually comes to mind will almost always be that of a brave hero-

" UWAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH !"

-dashingly coming into the rescue of helpless maidens.

ROAAAR...! *

Dungeons. A complex labyrinth composed of multiple floors, each one providing greater challenges than the last. In this world, there exist not a single soul who knew naught of their existence. Either for fame, glory, or even-

* Huff...huff...haa...! *

' I'm gonna die...!...I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die. . . ! '

-for the sake of a ridiculous dream to pick up girls in a dungeon, there is a great many people, each one from the different walks of life, who came to the city of Orario to conquer this seemingly indomitable labyrinth.

One such adventurer is a white-haired boy with eyes that bore the color red. He is currently being chased by a Minotaur.

" N-no! No,no,no,no,no. . . . .no! " the boy cried out in desperation, as though denying the very reality that he got himself caught in as a result of his recklessness. He had hit a dead end in his escape from the bull-headed beast behind him.

* RRROAAAARRRRR...! *

" Hii...! "

Now finally cornered, the only thing that he can do is look towards his death in the form of the Minotaur that stopped to savour the delightful expression of his despair-steeped face. He can feel tears wetting his cheeks at the thought of his demise at the hands of the monster.

' I'm...I'm really gonna die... '

' I... '

Admittedly, he got himself into this situation. He knew, and yet this confession would do him no good, now. Not if he doesn't live to learn from it.

And so, he shut his eyes, and waited for the (hopefully) painless death that awaited him.

But it would not come. Not now.

* SHIIING...! *

And the cause being the flashes of silver that streaked through the minotaur's form.

Opening his eyes, Bell was immediately greeted with the sight of fresh blood pouring all over his face.

Surprise colored his face, as well as the blood, as he watched the minotaur being cleaved into chunks of meat before his eyes.

" Wha. . . " still on his rump, Bell has his mouth agape on...well, everything that just happened.

That is, until a soft voice managed to snap him out of his trance.

" Are you...okay? "

The Guild

Hustle and bustle filled the establishment as usual, with adventurers going about their day whether it's simply just looking at the request board, discussing strategies, or cashing in their spoils of the day to earn their keep, one can say that if the dungeon is the 'heart' of Orario, then the Guild that manages any and all matters related to the dungeon can be called it's 'soul'. And the ones who manages the adventurer's guild were the receptionists who were responsible for their own charges.

Today as well, Eina Tulle is working dilligently-

" EINA-SAAAAAN! "

" Huh? "

-was working dilligently.

" Wha- BELL-KUN?! " she exclaimed in astonishment upon seeing the blood-soaked boy who is currently waltzing her way.

" Please show me Ais Wallenstein'a profile! "

" Wait! Bell-kun, calm down first! "

" Huh? "

" You shouldn't walk around covered in blood like that. Take a shower first! "

" . . . Ah. "

10 minutes later

" Geez, you should've known better. " the half-elf receptionist reprimanded the boy, rubbing her temples as she did so.

To summarize what her charge had just said, it would be something along the lines of : He climbed down to the fifth floor alone , which in turn got him chased by a minotaur in said floor, only then to be rescued by the [Sword Princess, Ais Wallenstein. She didn't know whether Bell was truly lucky or unlucky this time around, and even if she did it wouldn't do anything to alleviate her current headache.

"S-sorry, Eina-san... " Bell said sheepishly.

" In the first place, a rookie adventurer like you should know better than to go to the bottom floors recklessly as you just did! "

" Ugh...! I... " it was exactly as she said, if Ais had been even a second late he would've been reduced to monster food right then and there.

" I told you this before, "An adventurer shouldn't be too adventurous."" She emphasized the latter parts of her sentence, just as she did before. Multiple times.

" Y-yes...I'm sorry... " the boy can only cast a downward gaze as he apologized to the receptionist.

Seeing him like this, she decided that it was (probably) enough of a lesson for him today.

" *sigh* ...Bell-kun, luck is on your side. Not many level 1 adventurers, let alone those who've only been one for two weeks could survive a minotaur attack. "

" Yeah... " his gaze still downtrodden, Eina decided to do something about it.

*Flick*

" O-ouch... " the bot reeled back slightly from the sudden sensation that hit his forehead.

" Anyways...I'm just glade you're safe. Please be more careful next time, okay? "

She then added

" ...And hopefully, next time maybe don't run in the streets covered in blood again, okay? "

" ...Got it! "

Now that the lecture was over, Bell was once again reminded of why he had came to the guild in the first place.

" Ah...by the way, about that information regarding Ms.Ais... "

Bell is now walking home after finally getting what he wanted from Eina.

' Still...to think that Ms.Ais was that amazing... '

He had heard stories before, but in the end those were just that : stories. Hearing her feats from a trusted source somehow made her achievements much, much greater in comparison.

Ais Wallenstein, a swordswoman who carries the central burden of the Loki Familia. Her skills in the art of the sword are undoubtedly top-class among adventurers.

Recalling what Eina just said,

" She once annhihilated an army of Level 5 monsters by herself, earning her the nickname [War Princess] among adventurers, which was derived from [Sword Princess] in sarcasm. "

' Sword Princess, huh... '

A fitting title, he thought to himself. The way she rescued him by slicing up that Minotaur further drove in that point. Before, he had admired her for being his saviour. Now, that admiration exists alongside the newfound respect he had for her.

Still, there was one teeny tiny thing which Eina said that made him a little...well, let's just say fidgety.

" Anyone who approaches her with indecent desires is either honorably perished or crushed in disgrace. She recently broke the record of a thousand failed courthsips. "

That was...disappointing to hear, to say the least. Still, now with a newfound inspiration, Bell resolved himself in his heart in the hopes that one day, though it may not be tomorrow or the day after but one day, he would be able to measure up to her, if even by a little.

' Plus, Eina-san also mentioned something like that... '

" Bell-kun. "

" Ah, yes? "

" Look, women are attracted to strong and reliable men...while that may be true, I think, so long as you don't give up and work-hard...she might just notice you when you become stronger. "

He then proceeded to say something completely tactless after that. Not that him out of all people would notice it.

" Bell, real adventurers pick up girls in a dungeon. You save a vulnerable female adventurer from a hideous monster. She's grateful, and then you get to know each other. That's the best part of being an adventurer. "

' It's exactly as grandfather told me! '

' ...Well, except it being the other way around, of course... '

' Still, I'll work hard from now and get stronger! '

' To hopefully one day stand by her side...! '

And so, with renewed passion burning in his heart, he continued on his steps towards an abandoned church.

" Kami-samaa~ I'm home~! "

" Welcome back, Bell-kun! "

A warm voice responded.

Author notes: That's a wrap. Also, hello readers reading this story. This is a new fanfic that i've kept shelved for a few months now that i finally got around to have the motivation to write. Some of you may know me from my other work, Kamen Rider Evol: Another End. For those that have read that fanfic, I'm sorry for not updating in a while, since I've been focusing on this fanfic instead. I'll update when I have the time, so stay tuned.

So, what is this fanfic about? Well it's basically a crossover fanfic involving Dark Souls III and Danmachi. You guys have probably read a similar fanfic from Ashbel Longhart titled 'Is It Too Much To Ask To Be Left Alone?' And if you guys haven't go ahead and read it because it's great. And it actually motivated me to start writing this as well.

However, I want to make it clear that what this is is NOT in any way shape or form a continuation of his story. You guys might see some similarities between this and his story, but i don't intend for this to be a sequel to that. This will be it's own story. I do want to thank mr.Longhart for inspiring me, and if you're reading this i just wanna let you know I'm a huge fan of your work.

Anyways, first prologue is done. Our beloved rabbit will get isekaied into the world of dark souls in the next chapter. So, until then, ciao!
