In a town called Pallet Town in the Kanto Region, a young girl with raven black hair, brown eyes, and two distinctive zig-zag marks on her cheeks lived. She was watching a Pokémon Battle on TV in her room. This is Ashley Ketchum. She's 10 years old, and tomorrow is the day she becomes a Pokémon Trainer.

"Ashley, sweetie, it's time for bed," a woman with brown eyes and brown hair styled in a ponytail with a green scrunchie, wearing a yellow shirt with a pink short-sleeved jacket, a purple shirt, and light green shoes said.

This was her mother Delia Ketchum.

"Okay Mom," Ashley said.

"Excited for tomorrow?" Delia asked.

"Of course I am," Ashley responded.

"Well, you should go to bed, love," Delia said.

"I know. Good night Mom," Ashley said as she got in bed.

"Good love, sweetie," Delia turned off the lights and left the room.

The next day as the sun rised

BEEP...BEEP...BEEP...

"Mmm..." Ash groaned as she turned off her alarm clock. "Today's the day."

Ash got out of bed, headed to the bathroom, took a quick shower and got dressed in a cyan tank top, a light blue and white jacket, jean shorts, black leggings and blue and white sneakers. She also wore black fingerless gloves with blue lines across the cuffs, a black rose choker and a red and white hat with half a PokéBall in the middle.

"Let's see... First Aid Kit and Medicines... Camping Supplies... Portable Tent... Fishing Rod... Extra PokéBalls, all kinds... And finally, a change of clothes... Check!" Ash said as she placed them all in her dark blue backpack.

Walking downstairs, she saw her mother making Chocolate Chip Pancakes. But what surprised her was who she saw sitting by the table. She saw a man with black hair, blue eyes, and zig-zag marks on his cheeks like hers. He wore a black T-shirt, a red jacket, and blue jeans. This man is Ashley's father, Red Ketchum.

"Morning princess," Red smiled.

"Daddy!" Ash said happily as she hugged her father.

Red chuckled as he hugged his daughter.

"Daddy, what are you doing here?" Ash asked once they separated.

"You didn't think I would miss my daughter's big day, did you?" Red said.

Ashley smiled when her mother placed a plate of pancakes in front of her. Then they ate their breakfast and talked about random things. After cleaning up, Ash headed to Prof. Oak's Lab.

She reached the lab in 10 minutes and saw someone she couldn't stand. "Oh boy..."

A boy her age with spiky brown hair, and black eyes, wearing a long sleeved purple shirt, a necklace that looked like yin and yang but in green and yellow, blue jeans and brown boots.

This is Gary Oak, the grandson of Prof. Oak and the same one who would flirt with her.

"Hello Ashy," Gary said. "Did you come to watch me get a Starter Pokémon? How sweet of you. Well, you're a little late. I already got a Pokémon."

"Good for you. Now if you'll excuse me," Ash rolled her eyes as she walked past him.

"You know, you could still travel with me," Gary said, gesturing to his red car.

"You have got to be kidding. Do you even have a driver's license?" Ash questioned.

Gary shrugged as he entered his car and drove off.

Ash entered the lab and saw Prof. Oak.

"Good morning Ashley," Oak greeted.

"Morning Prof. Oak," Ash greeted.

Oak took Ash to the Research area of his lab; the Research Room was where Oak kept his machinery for researching Pokémon and where he has stocked the Kanto Region Starter Pokémon for new Pokémon Trainers.

CRASH...

"Oh no, not again," Oak sighed.

"Not what again?" Ash asked.

Before he could answer, a yellow mouse Pokémon with a heart-shaped tail, red cheek pouches and three brown stripes on its back appeared.

"A female Pikachu?" Ash blinked.

"Yes. I caught her two days ago when I found her chewing on the power cables," Oak explained.

Ash looked at Pikachu and couldn't help that she seemed familiar. "That's it," she snapped her fingers. "You're that Pichu I met at the Summer Camp."

Pikachu stared at Ash before jumping in her arms. "Pikachu~"

"I've missed you," Ash said as she hugged her.

"I take it you want Pikachu as your Starter Pokémon?" Oak asked.

"Yes," Ash nodded.

"Now for your Pokédex," Oak said, handing Ash a cyan smartphone. "This is a Rotom Phone just like the one your father has."

"Thank you. Bye!" Ash said as Pikachu climbed on her shoulder and left the lab.

When they got outside, she saw her parents waiting for her.

"Aw our baby girl is growing up," Delia gushed as she hugged Ash.

Red joined in, hugging his wife and daughter close to him.

"Is she your Starter Pokémon?" Red asked, looking at Pikachu.

"Yes," Ash said.

"Pika," Pikachu waved.

Red reached into his jacket, pulling out a Premier Ball and handed it to his daughter, "This is for you, princess."

"Thank you," Ash took the Premier Ball and sent out the Pokémon which is a pale gray fox-like Pokémon.

"Eevee," the Pokémon appeared.

"A Shiny Eevee!" Ash gasped as she pulled out her Rotom Phone

Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. A Normal Type. Eight different Pokémon evolve from the amazingly adaptive Eevee, according to the current studies. Its unstable genetic structure allows for this incredible diversity in Evolution. This Eevee is a Shiny.

Gender: Female

Hidden Ability: Anticipation

Known Moves: Quick Attack, Swift, Helping Hand, Sand Attack, Bite, Copycat and Shadow Ball

"Thanks Dad," Ash smiled as she hugged her father. "I love you both."

"We love you too," Delia said as they had another group hug.

"Bye," Ash said.

"Bye princess/Ashley!" Red and Delia waved at their daughter as she and her Pokémon headed towards Route 1. They smiled before they returned home.

After some time, Ash, Pikachu and Eevee arrived at Route 1. Ash scanned Pikachu

Pikachu, the Electric Mouse Pokémon. An Electric Type. It can generate electricity from the electric pouches located on both its cheeks. When it releases pent-up energy in a burst, the electric power is equal to a lightning bolt.

Gender: Female

Ability: Static

Hidden Ability: Lightening Rod

Known Moves: Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Nuzzle, Agility, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Light Screen and Double Kick

"Wow, you have good moves, Pikachu," Ash complimented.

"Pikachu," Pikachu smiled.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of flapping wings and looked up to a big brown and cream-colored bird Pokémon.

"A Pidgeotto," Ash pulled out her Rotom Phone

Pidgeotto, the Bird Pokémon and the evolved form of Pidgey. A Normal and Flying Type. Pidgeotto claims a large area as its own territory. This Pokémon flies around, patrolling its living space. If its territory is violated, it shows no mercy in thoroughly punishing the foe with its sharp claws. This Pidgotto is larger than a normal Pidgeotto

"That's a good start, Pikachu Thunder Shock," Ash said.

"Pikachuuuu!" Pikachu fired a shock of yellow electricity at Pidgeotto.

Pidgeotto noticed Pikachu and dodged the attack.

"Pidgeotto!" Pidgeotto's wings glowed light blue and blew a gust of wind from them.

"Have it your way. Pikachu Thunderbolt," Ash ordered.

"CHUUUU!" Pikachu fired a bolt of yellow electricity & hits Pidgeotto.

"Go Pokéball!" Ash threw a Pokéball at Pidgeotto & caught it. "Alright!"

"Pikachu!/Eevee!" Pikachu and Eevee cheered.

Taking out her Rotom Phone, she scanned her new teammate

Hidden Ability: Big Pecks

Known Moves: Gust, Sand Attack, Wing Attack, Quick Attack, Air Cutter, Mirror Move, Twister, Whirlwind, Feather Dance, Roost, Agility and Aerial Ace

As they continued, they arrived near a river where Ash decided to try her luck in trying to catch a Water Pokémon. She pulled out her sky blue fishing rod with a crystal-like lure and tossed the line into the water.

The Pokémon played quietly as Ash fished.

Soon, her fishing rod started moving, indicating that she caught something.

"Let's see what you are," Ash said as she pulled hard and out came a golden fish-like Pokémon.

Ash blinked at the Pokémon as the Pokémon blinked back.

"You're a Magikarp!" Ash pulled out her Rotom Phone

Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon. A Water Type. Magikarp is virtually useless in battle as it can only splash around. As a result, it is considered to be weak. However, it is actually a very hardy Pokémon that can survive in any body of water no matter how polluted it is. This Magikarp is a Shiny.

"Pikachu Thunder Shock again," Ash said.

"Pikachuuuu!" Pikachu fired Thunder Shock at Magikarp who was shocked and instantly fainted.

Ash threw a Pokéball at Magikarp, instantly catching it.

"Yes, that makes two!" Ash cheered.

Ash sent out Magikarp and healed its injuries.

Just as she did for Pidgeotto, she checked out Magikarp

Gender: Male

Ability: Swift Swim

Hidden Ability: Rattled

Known Moves: Splash, Tackle, Fail, Bounce and Hydro Pump

"Why aren't you something," Ash complimented as she rubbed his scales.

Magikarp blushed.

Ash then returned Magikarp. She looked up at the sky and saw it was about to rain. Just as she predicted, it started to rain. The three quickly hid under a tree. Then the rain suddenly stopped and the sky began to clear up.

"Okay, that was weird," Ash said.

"Shaoooh!" A voice screeched.

Ash and Pokémon looked up and saw a rainbow. They also saw a big red phoenix-like Pokémon with yellow tail feathers, a white underside and green fathers at the tip of its wings flying across it.

"What a beautiful Pokémon," Ash scanned the Pokémon

Ho-Oh, the Rainbow Pokémon. A Fire and Flying Type. Ho-Oh's feathers glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are stuck by light. These feathers are said to bring happiness to the bearers. This Pokémon is said to live at the foot of a rainbow.

Suddenly, something glittering was falling in front of Ash. She gently grabbed it and looked at it, which was a beautiful rainbow feather.

"How beautiful," Ash said in awe. She opened her backpack, took out a string, and clasped the rainbow feather with a red gem beside it, placing it around her neck under her choker and tugging it under her shirt.

With that, she continued toward Viridian City.
