Author's Note (AN): This story is a follow-up to Power Rangers Megaforce: Destiny and Power Rangers: Legends. I recommend reading these two before starting Power Rangers: Legacy.
This story is set during the SPD Rangers era (2025). It includes many elements from the original series but tells a different story, as it follows the previous fics. While it doesn't follow the canon for the most part, it features our favorite SPD Rangers and many other familiar faces. Oh, and if you cry easily, you may want to prepare for this one.
Be warned, there is an eleven-year time jump.
Oh, and I will not be posting on the 24th and 25th because of Christmas! So, Merry Christmas everyone! I will see you on the 26th.
Enjoy the reading!
Episode 1: New Dawn
The machines around him beep softly as Bridge Scott passes the scan over them. He looks focused as he makes sure everything is calibrated for the moment everyone has been waiting for years and yet, when he looks up, Bridge feels the exhaustion of the days. He had been here because that's what his father would have wanted, for him to be here, making sure everything was working and while he could barely face the emotions threatening to choke him, Bridge had to do this. He had to make sure everything was fine.
"One day you will be the connection between the past and the future, Bridge, and I know you will do what you must do, no matter what challenges you may find ahead of you."
His father's words sat heavy in Bridge's chest as he continued with calculations. Around him, the hum of machines, the sterile smell of the room, and the flickering lights reminded him of the stakes. Engineers, doctors, and nurses worked to get everything ready and pass his information to him for check and confirmation. This was important to them. This was the reason for everything.
"I didn't see you at breakfast this morning."
Bridge looks over his shoulder with a smile as he feels arms around him and kisses Z Delgado's cheek when she rests her head on his shoulder. Her support is always the strength he seeks in moments when he feels lost, and in this moment, he needs her more than anything else in the world.
Bridge sighs as he sees her look at the document in his hand, and he follows her eyes as she looks at the structures in front of him. Bridge's eyes soften, thinking about the energy inside the crystals in front of him.
"Everything seems ready to wake them up," comments Z, letting go of Bridge to stand by his side. "How are you feeling?"
"I don't know," whispers Bridge, looking at her. "This is… everything I dreamed of and yet, without my dad and my uncles here, it doesn't feel the same."
Z looks at him tenderly as Bridge looks towards the structures. He always wanted this moment to happen, and part of him was happy that finally, they would be able to bring so many lost back to the world, and yet, nothing would have been possible without his father and his uncles. Bridge takes a deep breath, trying to hold back tears. He has been crying for weeks, and he doesn't need to start again now, when he was so close to finishing his dad's work.
"Hey…" whispers Z, hugging him.
"Sorry," said Bridge, taking a deep breath to compose himself. "Let's get the others here so we can finally wake them up."
Z nods, and after sharing a deep kiss to help Bridge regain composure, she gives him a smile and walks away from the room to look for the rest of her team, leaving Bridge there to end any last-minute detail needed.
But as the door of the room closes and Z starts to walk towards the meeting room, she can't stop a tear from falling down her face. Would they be strong enough to endure the path ahead for them?

Meeting Room
Jack Landors closes the door and looks at the long table in front of him with the uneasy feeling he has been carrying for weeks. As leader of the SPD Rangers, his pose and strength had to be always perfect, matching the Red Rangers before him, and yet, Jack has been avoiding meetings and hiding in his room to cry as a young man who has lost guidance to continue to grow.
Yet today is a happy day. Jack knew this and was prepared to face the challenge of reuniting with his ancestors to explain everything they had been missing in the past eleven years. He even had a speech prepared, knowing the importance of his presence to support his Commander as much as to support his team.
Z would be there too, supporting them, and Jack hoped that his presence and Z's would ease the pain he knew Bridge, Sky, and Syd must be feeling. He looks down at his uniform jacket, the red color that he was given to lead his team.
"You may not see yourself as a leader now, Jack, but you will face the challenge and be a good leader. Believe me, I have an eye for that."
Jack knew now why he was told that and the great belief his previous mentors had in him as the Red Ranger despite his own doubts. That was his reason for doing this: because they gave him a chance, and he wanted to do the same for others. He wanted to do the same for the people that meant so much to them.
"Jack."
The current Commander of the SPD Academy, Anubis Cruger, looked at him with gentle eyes. Despite being from another species and having the physical appearance of a dog, Anubis Cruger was considered here and in the Universe as partly human because of his deep friendship with the first Commander and his guardians.
"Commander, what is that?" asked Jack, pointing at the three objects on the center of the table.
"This…" said Anubis, looking at the objects with a sad smile. "I was told I knew where to bring them, and after what happened, I noticed the three objects were together. So I investigated a little and it turns out, we won't be explaining everything—these objects will."
"What?" whispered Jack, confused.
Anubis nodded, a soft smile playing on his lips. His friends had always been smart, prepared, resourceful, but this was beyond anything Anubis had seen before and yet, it was completely expected from them.
"Anubis… my trust in you is unbreakable and I know very well my guardians feel the same, so don't be scared to lead again because if someone has the power to do it, that's you."
"Before they departed, I was told to look for this recorder. It has been enchanted with magic and technology to show memories and videos recorded by them for us and for our guests," explained Anubis, looking at the objects with sadness in his eyes. "When peace was achieved once more, the gem and Masamune came back with the recorder, and they have been together since."
Anubis sighed, looking away. Despite knowing there was nothing he could have done to change the events that brought him to this moment, he wished there had been something he could have done to create a different ending, a better one.
"They will show everything, from the start to the end, and even things we have never seen before."
Kat Manx's voice interrupted Anubis' thoughts as she walked to his side with firm steps. Kat smiled at the objects and made a small reverence before looking at the two men in front of her. In her eyes, the sadness was clear, but she was doing her best to remain strong for the rest of the people who would need a source of calm in a moment like this.
"Keep them sane, Kat. God knows what will happen if they don't have you to stay strong, and before you say you do nothing, believe me, I would have been overwhelmed without you, same with my guardians. So, smile and hold the line, okay?"
Kat smiled softly, remembering the words of support given to her. She did not like them. She was not a fighter, and yet here, in this place, she found a home and a family that helped her overcome her initial fears and discover her strengths. Now, all she could do was to return the favor with their guests.
"How is that possible?" asked Jack.
"Because they made it possible. Remember how they were, Jack—magic and technology were nothing to them with the resources and allies they had," said Kat, showing him a pad. "The recorder was enchanted by the magic of the Mystic Force Rangers, containing situations we had never seen and some others we know by heart to make it look like we were watching a movie. The gem had the unlimited power of the Universal Dino Gem to supply memories, and Masamune does the same to provide the other side of the memories. Together, they can tell them and us everything about their journey."
"That's incredible," whispered Jack.
Anubis and Kat both nodded with the same admiration as the three fell into a comfortable silence. When a knock at the door took their attention away, they found Z there, looking at them with a soft smile that conveyed hope and sadness.
"Bridge says everything is ready," explained Z.
Anubis nodded, taking the lead as he left the room with Kat. Z took a deep breath, ready to find Sky and Syd when she was stopped by Jack, as the man gently touched her arm and looked at her.
"You should go with Bridge. He needs you now," said Jack. "I'll go get Sky and Syd."
Z smiled, giving a hug to the Red Ranger and then walked back to the medical room, following Anubis and Kat, while Jack took one more look at the objects on the table, glowing faintly as they waited to be activated.
"Rest well, mentors."
Jack walked out of the room, closing the door as the objects on the table glowed in agreement, as if they knew they could leave the rest to them.

Break Room
Sky watched his girlfriend move the chairs for the third time as he waited for her to finish. He didn't mind. He loved to watch Syd do whatever Syd wanted to do, but he knew too well this was not something she wished to do—this was her nerves talking, and he was starting to get worried. The break room was brightly lit, the hum of the fluorescent lights creating a backdrop to Syd's restless movements. The neat rows of chairs, already perfectly aligned, seemed to bear witness to her anxiety.
By the fourth time she started moving the chairs, he had had enough. Gently, Sky got up and engulfed her in a hug that calmed her nerves instantly.
"The room is perfect the way it is," said Sky, looking down at her.
Syd looked up, and those eyes he loved so much were full of worry. He didn't like that. All he wanted was for her to be happy and cheerful like she had been all the years he had known her, but this time, not even he could make things better.
No one could.
"I know," said Syd as she hid her face in his chest. "What if they don't like me, Sky? What if they get mad?"
Sky wondered too, sometimes. They had been accepted into a family a long time ago, and nothing had made them think there was room for anger between them. But a few weeks ago, he thought about that possibility and wondered if he could really pull himself out of the despair their rejection could cause in him.
It almost made him forget there was a time he was a different boy: cold, detached, a robot.
But then he met his father and his uncles. He met Bridge, Cruger, and Kat. Then he met Syd, and he fell in love before he knew what that meant. He met Jack and Z. He met so many people since he came here, all thanks to that family he never wanted and that now he had to fight to keep together.
So when he looked down at Syd one more time, he smiled at her and took a step back, guiding her to the couch so they could sit down, still holding hands.
"There is no way they can hate you, Syd. They won't hate anyone," said Sky, caressing her face. "They may be confused and hurt, but remember our dads and our uncle—they always said their families were our family, and now, our family needs us more than ever."
Syd took a deep breath, closing her eyes and nodding. Sky was right, and she had to believe it. She had been her dad's princess for the longest time, and despite the pain following her heart everywhere, she would never trade any moment with him or her uncles.
She knew her dad's family and all of them would feel the same eventually, and right now, she was one of the few who could help them with that.
"You are right. We need to help them now," said Syd, giving Sky a smile. "Thank you."
"Anything for you."
Syd chuckled, and they got closer to share a kiss when they heard steps coming towards them. They looked to the door and saw Jack Landors appearing with an expression on his face that radiated firmness and a little happiness.
"Bridge says everything is ready."
Sky and Syd looked at each other and took a deep breath as they got up from the couch, hand in hand. The moment of truth was here, and they were ready to face it together.

Medical Room
By the time Jack, Sky, and Syd arrived in the room, Bridge was nodding at the doctors and nurses who had been working non-stop with him to get the Crystals ready. Now it was the moment of truth. Despite the recent events and the nerves, there was a feeling of anticipation and excitement in them because today they would see their ancestors again. Anubis Cruger took a deep breath with Kat by his side, watching the Crystals carefully put in beds with all the attention she could muster. Jack was not far from them, his eyes on the Crystals and his senses on his team, ensuring that no matter what, they were calm and ready for this event.
Sky and Syd remained holding hands, right behind Jack, too scared to take a step forward and unable to take a step back. They watched, their eyes on two different groups of Crystals mostly but seeing them all. There were so many… and they were right there, in front of them.
Bridge took a deep breath, his eyes on a Crystal he had seen so many times his father talk to. He smiled, sadly, and then felt Z's hand in his, giving him peace and pushing him to finally break the contact with the Crystals. As he looked at his iPad, and along with Z, they pressed the screen, starting the process to free the people trapped inside the Crystals.
The lasers on the top of each bed started cutting through the Crystal, careful not to hurt the people inside. The more they revealed, the more nervous the SPD Rangers, Cruger, and Kat became as they started to see faces lost in the past.
It wasn't a surprise to see they had aged too. They still had doubts about how the Zeo Crystals worked, but apparently, since they could sense the change in energy and the years passing, it was natural they adapted to the situation, feeding the people inside energy accordingly. Yet, the people inside the Crystals didn't look eleven years older; most of them just looked over six or seven years older, and the youngest team only looked around four or five years older.
It was impressive.
Another thing the SPD Rangers noticed was that their clothes adapted to the aging, making them the same but adjusted to their bodies. It was weird, but it seemed the Zeo Crystals could sense the needs of these humans and decided to give them the tools to survive.
Bridge was completely mesmerized by the process showing the Rangers of the past coming back to the real world that he didn't notice the laser stopping or the bodies now on the beds starting to move until Z squeezed his hand.
"Bridge, they are waking up."
Momentarily stunned by her words, Bridge finally realized what that meant. Without meaning to, his iPad fell from his hand to the ground at the same time the Power Rangers woke up in a world that knows everything about them but that they know nothing about.

Troy Burrows was the first one to sit up in the bed, confused and completely out of his element. He didn't recognize where he was, and for a moment, the fear of being captured overwhelmed him as he looked around for an exit. But all he found were his friends and the other Ranger teams.
What is going on?
"Troy…" whispered a voice beside him. "Troy Burrows, can you hear me?"
Troy looked towards the voice, searching for a source to attack or a friendly face when he saw someone he briefly recognized. His memory was foggy, and he felt as if he had been somewhere else for a long time, but Cruger's smile was gentle, and the hand on his arm was warm.
"Troy, we've met before," said Cruger. "I'm Anubis Cruger. Commander of the SPD Academy and SPD Shadow Ranger."
Ah, yes… thought Troy as he remembered him. He helped them before, and he is a Power Ranger. Troy nodded absently and passed a hand through his hair, trying to clear his mind. But as soon as he touched his hair, he stopped, noticing that it was longer than he remembered.
Troy looked at his hand, thinking how strange it was. Then, having a weird feeling in his chest, he looked around, paying attention to the rest of the Rangers. That's when he opened his eyes wide, surprised as he realized all of them looked older.
When he looked at Cruger, the Commander took a moment to see his team and Kat providing a calming presence to the other Rangers before he returned his attention to Troy.
"What happened?" asked Troy, confused. "We were fighting on the beach against Emperor Mavro and his army, and now…"
"Troy, I need you to hear me very carefully," said Cruger, looking up at his team. "Everyone, please pay attention to what I have to say."
Troy's attention, along with many other Rangers, was now on Cruger. Suddenly, Cruger started to feel the pressure of many eyes on him, but it was only three pairs of eyes he was worried about for now, as he knew exactly what this story would do to them. Yet, he had to do what he needed to do.
"What can I say, Anubis?" said the previous Commander once in the past. "We like strong women."
Cruger took a deep breath and then prepared to talk when he felt three presences around him. He forced himself not to look around because he was sure if he did, he would feel the presence of the previous Commander and his guardians, watching him amused by the scene.
"You are in the Space Patrol Delta Academy. We are the Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta, SPD for short," explained Cruger. "I know your last memory is the battle against Emperor Mavro and his army, but that's not the last thing that happened. You earned the victory, Rangers. The war ended that day."
The room exploded in cheers, hugs, and happiness because of that reason. While it brought some peace to the situation, Cruger and the SPD Rangers were convinced that happiness was due to the Rangers not yet remembering the events preceding their eleven-year forced retirement.
Yet Cruger had a hard time breaking the moment of joy. This time, it was Kat Manx who asked the Rangers for attention as she received Cruger's nod. She stood between Tommy Oliver and Jason Scott, so the pressure was high, but Kat was ready. She had to be.
"You did win the war, Rangers, but something else happened after the victory," said Kat, taking a moment to gather her courage. "You were attacked by an evil that drained your energy, and the only solution to save your lives was to protect your bodies and the little life you had left in Zeo Crystals, which have kept you alive all this time."
"All this time?" asked Kimberly, sitting beside Tommy.
"Eleven years have passed since the war you remember, Miss Hart," said Jack, looking at her with sympathy. "You have been asleep for eleven years."

Andros was the first one to get up after Jack told them the news they still had a hard time believing. As he did, dizziness overcame him. Thankfully, Sky managed to support him and guide him back to the bed while Z took a step forward, standing between the sisters, Madison and Vida Roca.
"I know this is confusing and you probably don't understand anything, but please trust we have your best interest at heart," said Z, looking around the room at the Rangers.
"Our best interest at heart?" asked Rocky, getting up slowly. "Sorry if I look a little angry, but I just been told I lost eleven years!"
"Calm down!" said Syd, trying to keep an obstinate Taylor in her bed. "We all know how complicated this is, but would you rather not know and walk out of this room into a different world?"
That seemed to calm the Rangers enough to create a moment where everyone could gather their thoughts. This time, it was Wes Collins who spoke, but instead of saying something to the SPD Rangers, Cruger, or Kat, he looked at his wife and his teammates.
"Jen, do you know something about this?" asked Wes.
"No, but this looks a lot like memory adaptation," said Jen, still slightly dizzy. She looked up towards Cruger, who seemed to be the person in charge in the room. "Is this memory adaptation?"
"In a sense, yes," said Cruger. But before the Rangers could complain again, he added, "We are not erasing your memories. They are foggy because of the years you have spent inside the Zeo Crystals. If you allow us, we would like to explain how this happened and show you events of these past eleven years so you are aware of your surroundings."
There was silence in the room as the Rangers thought, but ultimately, they didn't have a choice. The advanced technology they saw near the beds was not from their time, and they knew that because the beds were reading their vitals in real time. There were also small parts of broken Zeo Crystals scattered around the room and people cleaning near them that were definitely not from Earth.
"Whatever," said Zhane, catching everyone's attention. "I'm still feeling a little lost, so I have no problem staying and learning more about this time. There may be something fun to do here, after all."
Despite their sense of distrust, Zhane's words were the only plan they had so far, and Cruger felt relieved, knowing somehow the Rangers seemed a little more receptive, if anything, because there was nothing they could do for now.
"Very well, if you are feeling fine, we would like to show you the meeting room. There we can explain everything and tell you all you need to know," said Cruger, giving them a gentle smile. "By the way, before we do that, let me formally introduce myself and my team. I am Anubis Cruger, currently Commander of the SPD Academy and Shadow Ranger."
Cruger looked at Kat, nodded, and smiled at the Rangers.
"I'm Kat Manx, doctor and scientist of the SPD Academy," said Kat. "I design the Rangers equipment and help the SPD Rangers in their fight."
Noah tilted his head, confused, as he felt the name was familiar but said nothing because there was also something else in the back of his mind he still had trouble remembering. He wasn't sure what it was or if he just had some sort of cerebral malfunction because of the years forced to sleep.
"I'm Jack, SPD Red Ranger," said Jack, showing the Rangers the side of his uniform jacket that was bright red and his morpher.
"Z, SPD Yellow Ranger," said Z, with a soft smile.
The Rangers nodded, recognizing colors but confused about the morphers when they noticed three people still there, in silence, looking as if this was an important moment in their lives. Z sighed and walked towards them, looking at Sky and Syd first and encouraging them to finally speak.
"I am Sydney, but my friends call me Syd," said Syd, looking at them timidly. "I'm the SPD Pink Ranger."
"Sky, SPD Blue Ranger," said Sky.
Z and Jack share a look. They all made the choice to leave their last names out so they wouldn't overwhelm the Rangers with too much information and for now, no one seemed to notice. Besides, there was one more Ranger to introduce, and Z walked towards him, taking his hand in hers as Bridge looked at her with the eyes of a scared kid.
It broke her heart.
"You need to do this, babe," whispered Z.
Bridge took a deep breath and nodded. She was right. He owed this to his dad and his uncles, to their memory. He owed it to Syd and Sky, standing near him and being strong enough to reveal their names, even if they weren't the full ones. He owed it to Jack, who was taking the lead in this situation. He owed it to Cruger and Kat, standing strong. He owed it to Z, always supporting him.
He took a deep breath and looked at the Rangers.
"My name is Bridge, and I am the SPD Green Ranger," said Bridge, not taking his eyes off the Rangers. "Please, Rangers, come with us so we can explain everything to you."
Z smiled at him as Bridge turned around and firmly left the room first, followed by her, Sky, and Syd. While no one seemed to notice, Jason tilted his head. That young man… he could swear he saw a shadow beside him, like a ghost.
"Ready, Rangers?" asked Jack.
The Rangers nodded, and one by one, they left the medical room until Cruger and Kat were left alone, in silence in that space that finally was free. Yet, on their faces, there was a doubt that neither Cruger nor Kat could explain.
"Did you notice they didn't ask for them yet?" asked Kat.
"Yes. They must be trying to process everything. Give them some time," said Cruger, walking out of the room with Kat. "They will remember once we start talking about them."
Kat nodded, and together, Cruger and Kat followed the Rangers and the SPD Rangers in silence, watching carefully as the Rangers admired with amazement the cadets' martial lessons and the classrooms full of non-Ranger teenagers and adults who came here to learn music, science, technology, art, planets environment, photography, and many more courses that would shape their paths in the future.
A future possible because of what happened only a few weeks ago. A war that took eleven years to complete.
