Freya Reinhardt was a nimble, lean built Viking, her platinum blonde hair was kept in two french braids. Her purple eyes were almost tantilizing to the soul...join her and Hiccup Haddock as they embark on a journey to change the world.
Freya was created by me and will be voiced by Darcy Rose Byrnes.
Berk
Two voices, a male and a female, began narrating as an island comes into view.
The voices belonged to Freya Reinhardt, daughter of Gobber the belch, and Hiccup Haddock III, son of Stoick the vast.
Hiccup was very slender for a viking, almost lanky as his body was akin to that of a tree branch, but he made up for his lack of brawn with his brains. His eyes were forest green and his brown hair matched perfectly with them. He wore a green shirt with a brown fur tunic over it. He also wore green pants and a pair of brown winter boots.
Freya was in the same boat as Hiccup, she was extremely thin for a viking, but she was nimble. Her eyes were a deep purple as her platinum blonde hair was platted into three braids. She wore a navy blue dress with a pair of navy blue winter boots.
"This is Berk." They both said simultaneously.
"It's twelve days north of hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death." Began Hiccup with his ever present squeaky voice.
"But it's home." Said Freya with a much softer voice.
"That it is my friend, Berk is located solidly on the meridian of misery." Hiccup continued.
A village is now shown as we get a glimpse of the livestock and the buildings that made up the civilization.
"Our village, in a word, sturdy." Hiccup stated.
"It's been around for seven generations, but not to worry, every single building is brand new." Freya remarked playfully.
"We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunset, only problem is...the pests." Hiccup said as a sheep was then swept off the ground by a pair of legs.
"Oh dear." Freya said as she shook her head.
"See most places have mice or mosquitoes, we have..." Hiccup trails off as he opens the door to his house.
He immediately closes his door to block the stream of fire that was sent in his direction.
"Dragons." Hiccup finished as they paused the narration for a bit.
The village was suddenly sent into carnage, dragons were everywhere as they began raiding the village, the vikings fought back.
"Most people would turn tail and run, but not us, we are vikings, we have serious issues with stubbornness." Freya stated proudly.
Hiccup then runs out of his house frantically to make it to his post, which was the village forge, which currently housed his best friend, Freya, and his mentor, Gobber.
"My name is Hiccup, great name, I know." Hiccup remarked sarcastically.
"I personally think it's a lovely name." Freya said sweetly.
"Thanks Freya, but she's kindof right, Hiccup is not the worst name, parents believe a hideous name will frighten off gnomes and trolls like our charming viking demeanor wouldn't do that." Hiccup said as he was knocked to the ground with an audible groan.
Suddenly a viking stood over him and hollered into his face loudly, bad breath and all.
"Mornin'!" The viking exclaimed before running off to help fight the dragons off.
Hiccup immediately got up and restarted his journey to the forge.
He did not miss the scowls and reprimands of the village's vikings as he ran through the village, but he ignored them and focused on his goal.
It would appear as though he would make it to the forge with no repercussions. Until suddenly a large hand grabbed him by his tunic and pulled him back.
The mystery man holds Hiccup up high with one hand.
As we get a view of the man we notice he was a very well built man, stocky indeed. He had forest green eyes, much like Hiccup, and red hair, along with a red beard that was platted into multiple braids. The man wore a giant viking helmet with a green shirt lined with metal armor on the bottom of the piece and a brown fur pelt was attached to his back.
This was Stoick the vast, Hiccup's father.
"Hiccup! What is he doi- What are you doing out?! Get inside!" Stoick exclaimed as he pushed Hiccup forward.
"That's Stoick the vast, they say that when he was a baby, he popped a dragon's head clean off it's shoulders, do I believe it?" Hiccup questioned rhetorically as Stoick hoisted a wooden contraption at a dragon in the far distance causing it to drop it's prey.
"Yes I do." Hiccup answered his own question from before.
Stoick then turned to his reporter, Hagard.
"What have we got?" Stoick questioned him.
"Gronkles, Nadders, Zipplebacks, and Hork says he saw a couple Monstrous Nightmares." Haggard informed him.
"Any Night Furies?" Stoick questioned once more as an explosion occurred behind them.
"None, sir." Haggard stated curtly.
"Good." Stoick said plainly as he brushed a small fire off of his shoulder from the explosion.
Hiccup had ignored his father's as he eventually made his way to the forge.
There he met up with his best friend, Freya, and his mentor, Gobber.
Gobber was a heavy set man with a peg leg as his right leg and a hammer for his left arm.
He had a blonde mustache and blonde hair which was covered by his helmet.
His eyes were a light blue hue to match his blond hair.
Hiccup noticed Freya as she was working on some blades, unaware of his presence.
"Hello, Freya." Hiccup said with a wave as the girl visibly lit up at his appearance.
"Hi Hiccup!" Freya exclaimed in joy.
"Nice of you to join the party! I thought you'd be carried off." Gobber remarked.
"What? Me? I'm way too muscular for their taste." Hiccup said as he flexed his twig arms.
Freya giggled at his antics as Gobber chuckled.
"Well they need toothpicks, don't they?" Gobber questioned as Hiccup deadpanned.
"Woah! Um, little help here, I-I can't lift it." Freya said in a strained voice as she was trying to lift a hammer onto a shelf.
Hiccup rushes over to her swiftly and grabbed one end of the hammer.
"I got ya." Hiccup said as they both lifted the hammer together.
Freya smiled thankfully at him as Hiccup blushed slightly.
The duo then opens the door as they noticed a small group of teens running with buckets of water.
Fishlegs Ingerman, a heavy set blonde haired teen ran by with a bucket of water.
Then a smaller, dark haired teen with the meanest mug ever ran by as well, Snotlout Jorgensen, Freya hated this boy, and it took a LOT to make Freya hate you.
Then the next two young vikings followed, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, Berk's biggest trouble makers, and most infamous set of twins.
Then a flame erupts...it was a dragon's shot as it emphasized the grace of the next and final teen that walked forward, it was Astrid Hofferson.
Freya rolled her eyes as she watched Hiccup practically drool over Astrid...while they were both mesmerized by the entire group of teens...she could tell he was mainly focused on Ms. Hofferson, he'd been chasing her since they were little...or, littler.
Whilst Freya was upset Hiccup was so obsessed with a girl who didn't see him for who he was, she knew deep down she was a tad jealous because of her own feelings towards the green eyed boy.
"Will you two stop dozing off? These blades aren't gonna sharpen themselves!" Gobber shouted as both teens were broken out of their stupor.
And with that Freya picked up a sword and began sharpening it.
"Hiccup, can yo-" She cuts herself off when she notices that Hiccup was trying to sneak out of the forge, she couldn't help but smile a little, he was so silly.
As Hiccup crept towards the exit, he was shocked to feel Gobber's hook drag him right back into the shop.
"Gahhh! Come on, let me out, please?" Hiccup pleaded as Gobber placed him back next to Freya who chuckled.
"I need to make my mark!" Hiccup then shouted at Gobber.
"You'd make plenty of marks, all in the wrong places." Gobber stated as Hiccup frowned and Freya chuckled at his expense.
"What? It's funny." She tried to placate him with raised hands.
"Just give me 2 minutes Gobber, if I succeed my life will get infinitely better! I might even get a date!" Hiccup exclaimed as Freya rolled her eyes, her best friend was the brightest viking on Berk, but he was the dumbest one too.
"You can't lift a hammer, you can't swing an axe, you can't even throw one of these!" Gobber exclaimed as he slung a bola at a Gronkle, effectively dropping it to the ground.
"Wow, still the most impressive marksman on Berk." Freya said with light claps.
"Thanks lass." Gobber said with a proud demeanor.
"That was mildly cool, I don't need to throw it, whennnn...this can throw it for me!" Hiccup exclaimed as he gestured to a contraption he and Freya had worked on together.
Only thing was, Freya knew they hadn't finalized the machine yet so...
"Hiccup it isn't ready..." She reminded him.
"Oh come on, it's more than ready." Hiccup said as he tapped the machine lightly only to inadvertently cause a bola to fly out of it and slap a random viking square in his grill.
Freya gave her best friend the most deadpanned look she could muster as he chuckled nervously.
"See! Now this right here is what I'm talkin about!" Gobber shouted as he approached Hiccup, the former scrambled backwards.
"Mild calibration issue." Hiccup protested as Freya shook her head at him whilst putting the machine back in place.
"Hiccup, if you ever want to get out there to fight dragons...you need to stop all of...this." Gobber said as he gestured to Hiccup's entire body.
'That was a tad harsh...' Freya mentally stated, her friend was very incredulous but, he didn't deserve THAT much of a bad rep, all of the village's distaste for Hiccup would be much better suited for a brute like Snotlout...
"But you just gestured to all of me." Hiccup confronted Gobber in confusion.
"Exactly! Yes! Stop being all of you!" Gobber shouted as Hiccup stared at him blankly for a bit.
"Ohhhhhh." Hiccup began.
"Ohhhhh". Gobber continued.
"Uh-oh." Freya knew where this was headed.
"You sir are playing a very dangerous game!" Hiccup began again as he jutted his finger at Gobber.
"Keeping this much raw, Vikingness contained, there will be consequences!" Hiccup shouted as Gobber brushed him off and Freya chuckled at his dramatic behavior.
"I'll take my chances, sword sharpened, now." Gobber ordered Hiccup as he dropped the sword into his hand.
"And you, stop lazing about and arrange those daggers!" Gobber then ordered Freya as she rolled her eyes, she was already about to do that anyways if it wasn't for Hiccup messing with the machine.
Gobber then left the teens enough room to whisper to eachother.
"What did he mean by stop being all of me...? I'm cool." Hiccup reassured himself as Freya chuckled at him.
"I don't know about all that, but if it helps, I don't think you should ever stop being all of you." Freya said with a smile which Hiccup answered with a smirk, she was right, he was Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, he would prove himself to every viking in the village tonight he mentally vowed as he began sharpening the sword.
"Freya's right, one day I'll get out there; because killing a dragon is everything around here." Hiccup began narrating again.
"Everything to who exactly? I don't quite think Gothi gets off her peak to start bashing in Zippleback skulls." Freya corrected Hiccup.
"You get what I mean Freya, anyways...taking a nadder head is sure to get me atleast noticed." Hiccup continued as he alluded to the Deadly Nadder, a very parrotesque dragon.
"Ooo those are pretty, but they're not exactly friendly with the spikes and whatnot." Freya added to her friend's point.
"Gronkles are tough, taking down one of those would definitely get me a girlfriend." Hiccup said as you could hear the excitement in his tone.
"Yea a girlfriend that looks just like that stupid Gronkle too." Freya muttered.
"What?" Hiccup questioned.
"Nothing!" Freya exclaimed curtly.
"Anyways...a Zippleback is twice the head so twice the fame." Hiccup continued his narration.
"I never liked those guys, far too unpredictable for my liking, and it always smells absolutely ATROCIOUS whenever they attack Berk." Freya said in a strained tone.
"Tell me about it...but I can't forget one of the wildest dragons of all, the Monstrous Nightmare, only the best vikings go after those, they have this nasty habit of setting themselves on fire." Hiccup stated in an eerie tone.
"Those are super dangerous, wouldn't wanna be caught in a ditch with even a baby one." Freya said as she feigned a shiver.
"But the ultimate prize is the dragon no one has ever seen..." Hiccup began narrating again as a loud whistle rang through the air.
Both him and Freya ran to the edge of the shop to look up into the sky.
"We've heard so many legends about this dragon; it was only a short century ago our ancestors began calling it the..." Freya trailed off as the whistling got more intense.
"Night Fury." They both said simultaneously as a pitch black figure swooped down at a catapult and shot a very high powered blue blast at it, effectively destroying it in one big explosion.
"This thing never steals food, never shows itself, and-" Hiccup is cutoff as another powerful blue blast took down another tower.
"It never misses." Freya finished for him.
"No one has ever killed a Night Fury, that's why I'm going to be the first." Hiccup declared as the narration ceased for the moment
"Okay you two! Hold the fort down for a bit! They need me out there!" Gobber ordered the two teens as he began bounding towards the exit.
He stopped to address them once last time.
"Stay...put...there...you know what I mean." Gobber explained as they stood there awkwardly.
"Be safe!" He shouted before turning to run into the battle against the dragons with a loud battle cry.
Freya turned to Hiccup, everything Gobber had just warned them about was nowhere near his brain right now as his gaze turned to their machine.
"Everything my father just sent went right through one ear and out the other for you didn't it?" Freya questioned Hiccup.
"Yup." He answered cryptically.
"You're not gonna listen if I tell you how dangerous and stupid this plan is; are you?" Freya questioned once more.
"Nope." Hiccup answered with a pop.
"Fine, let's go." Freya said as they both let out a smirk.
Hiccup began wheeling the machine through the village with Freya by his side.
As the vikings around them noticed their shenanigans they were met with numerous scowls and looks of disdain.
"What are you two doing?" One viking shouted.
"We'll be right back!" Hiccup shouted.
"Freya what are you doing?!" Another viking shouted directly towards the blonde.
"Just making sure my best friend doesn't get himself killed!" Freya shouted as she and Hiccup finally made it to the edge of the village and set the machine up.
They both stood in silence as Hiccup stared at the starry night sky intensely, aiming the machine, poised to shoot whatever flew in front of him, preferably, that Night Fury.
Freya heard screeching in the distance as the loud noises and the nightly wind made her ear twitch.
"Come on...give me something to shoot." Hiccup continued to repeat as he was firmly grasping the machine's trigger.
The screeches came again, closer this time Freya deducted, then that all too familiar whistle, they both know what was to come next.
In front of them a large tower was taken down by a blue blast as a black mass zoomed right past the fire, Hiccup instantly clicked the trigger of the machine as the recoil sent him flying back into Freya, they both fell to the floor with loud grunts and thuds.
They both quickly sat up as they heard the creature cry out in pain as a bola had clearly struck it out of the sky...they couldn't see anything but one thing was clear to both of them.
"I hit it..." Hiccup trailed off.
"You hit...you actually hit it..." Freya trailed off as well.
"Oh yes! Oh yes! I hit it it!" Hiccup shouted as he stood up along with Freya as they hugged eachother and jumped around joyously.
"Did you all see that!? I hope every single body saw that!" Hiccup shouted as he separated from Freya.
His smile fell when he noticed she had gained a fear filled expression.
"Um Hiccup...are you sure you meant, EVERY SINGLE body?" Freya questioned as Hiccup turned around slowly to see a giant Monstrous Nightmare snarling at him.
"Ummm, every single body except for him." Hiccup said with a dry chuckle.
"Run!" Freya shouted as both young vikings began running away from the beast frantically screaming for their lives as it roared and gave chase.
"Look out!" She shouted once more as they both dodged a stream of fire from the dragon and continued running.
As they ran Hiccup stopped on a dime and pulled Freya begind a pillar as they both held eachother tightly in fear, the Monstrous Nightmare was still hot on their trails as it sent a power stream of fire at the pillar.
Hiccup hissed in pain as he could feel the heat even with the pillar blocking it.
Both vikings could feel eachother trembling in fear as the Monstrous Nightmare slowly stalked past the pillar and turned to them.
They both knew this was it...after all the mistakes, their lives were finally over.
Right as the Monstrous Nightmare was about to finish them both off, Stoic the Vast in all his glory delivered a firm kick to it's snout as he prepared to square off against the beast to protect the two teens.
Hiccup and Freya watched as the Monstrous Nightmare fired out a weak stream of fire, every dragon had a shot limit...and it looked like this guy just his his.
"You're all out." Stoic said gravely as he began huskily walking up to the dragon, delivering very firm and strong punches to it.
Stoic then gave it one last strong kick as it decided it was best to retreat than risk death at the hands of Berk's chief, with that, the Monstrous Nightmare flew off into the night sky.
"Oh...and there's one more thing you need to know." Hiccup began narrating again as the pillar he and Freya had began falling.
"Trust me...I think they already figured it out by now." Freya finished for him as the pillar completely fell down, revealing Stoic's irate glare that was being directed towards them.
The pillar was also set ablaze so naturally it falling caused a lot more casualities and destruction to the village than the dragons had already done...
"Sorry...dad." Hiccup apologized to his father as he winced everytime another viking screamed out in pain because of his mistake.
Freya, much like many other vikings looked to the sky to see the dragons leaving with numerous livestock in their clutches...yea it's safe to say that wasn't going to make things easier for them.
"Okay but I hit a Night Fury though." Hiccup stated curtly, his father paid absolutely no mind to him as he was swiftly dragged through the village by the shoulder.
Freya hung her head a bit low as she followed after them briskly trying to avoid the many stares of the villagers.
Among those, she was trying to avoid one-
Too late, Gobber had appeared besides her as he grabbed her hand.
"Oh! Father, fancy seeing you here!" She shouted as Gobber deadpanned at her and began going in the same direction Stoic was carrying Hiccup.
"This wasn't like the last few times dad! I really hit it! Ask Freya!" Hiccup shouted as he gestured to Freya.
"It's true sir! I was a witness." Freya tried to aid Hiccup but Stoic was not in a listening mood.
"Come on dad, it went down just off Raven's point, let's get a search party out ther-" Hiccup is cutoff as his dad comes to a halt and rounds on him so fast that even Gobber and Freya fell back.
"Stop! Just stop!" Stoic shouted as Hiccup's rambling ceased.
"Everytime you step outside disaster falls, winter is almost here and I have an entire village to feed!" He continued berating his son.
"Well between you and me the village could do with a little less feeding don't ya think?" Hiccup joked as Freya fought the urge to face palm, that's another issue Hiccup had, he had a tendency to find humor in the wrong moments; sure most of the vikings in the village had a few extra pounds on them, but the possibility of the village starving was no laughing matter, it was clearly not to Stoic.
"This isn't a joke Hiccup! You almost got you and your friend killed for Thor's sake! Ugh! Why can't you follow the simplest orders?" Stoic questioned his son.
"I can't stop myself! I see a dragon and I have to just...kill it! It's who I am dad." Hiccup tried to explain as Stoic sighed for the umpteenth time.
"You are many things Hiccup, but a dragon killer is not one not them, get back to the house." Stoic ordered him as the latter looked down begrudgingly.
"Make sure he gets there!" He orderer Gobber after.
"I have his mess to clean up." Stoic finished as he walked off with a scowl.
"Come on you two." Gobber urged the two down trodden teens as he began ushering them through the village the Hiccup's home.
"Wow, look at our adoring crowd." Freya said in a soft yet dry tone to Hiccup as they took note of the scowls being sent their way.
"Quite the performance." They heard the voice of Tuffnut state as they tried to ignore it.
"I never seen someone mess up that bad." Snotlout taunted Hiccup who came by first with an eyeroll.
"Oh, hey Freya, don't worry babe you can mess up as many times as you want because you look so good." Snotlout flirted as Freya fought the urge to roll her eyes.
She feigned a mis-step as she roughly stepped on Snotlout's foot eliciting a girly shriek from the viking as he bite his lip in pain.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Freya said in a flaunty apologetic tone before turning her head and scowling to herself, she had no time for this brute's advances.
"No worries! I'm too strong to feel that!" Snotlout shouted as she ignored him.
Gobber and Freya stood before Hiccup as the latter was evidently not in the most chipper mood.
"Well atleast my dad finally looked at me for once." Hiccup said in annoyance.
"He always looks at you." Freya answered him.
"Yea but it's always with this disappointed scowl like someone skimped on the meat in his sandwich." Hiccup said with an exasperated sigh.
"Excuse me barmaid! I'm afraid you've brought me the wrong offspring, I ordered an extra large boy with beefy arms and big guts with extra glory on the side, this here...this is a talkin fish bone!" Hiccup shouted in a feigned Scottish accent.
Despite herself, Freya chuckled a bit, the disappointment of the past moments was slowly leaving her brain, that was Hiccup's best quality, he always knew how to brighten her mood...even when he was upset himself.
"Look, you're lookin at this the wrong way, it's not about what you look like, it's about what's on the inside that he can't stand." Gobber explained as once more, Freya and Hiccup gave him incredulous looks.
"Ya know dad, you never were the best at these type of conversations." Freya pointed out as Gobber raised his hooked hand.
"You're not exactly off the hook either missy! You're lucky I'm needed at the Great Hall right now, when you get home later we'll discuss your punishment." Gobber said as he turned around.
"Now get inside; and actually stay put." Gobber made himself even more firm than before as he began walking away.
Hiccup and Freya both sighed simultaneously as they walked into the house.
"Freya...I'm sorry I got you in trouble." Hiccup apologized to his friend as he was shocked by her chuckle.
"Are you kidding me? You're my best friend Hiccup, you should know I'll never leave you to face the fire alone...no pun intended." Freya said with a smirk as she nudged his chest.
"Okay, I shoulda seen that coming." Hiccup said as they began laughing together.
Hiccup then focused on the backdoor of the home; Freya already knew what he was thinking.
"You know...once we go through that door, there's no turning back, right?" She questioned him.
"I'm well aware but...I need to prove them all wrong, I need to get that dragon's heart and give it to my dad...he'll accept me then." Hiccup said determinedly as Freya sighed.
Hiccup shouldn't have to do all that to gain his FATHER'S approval...but she would jump into a fiery pit of angry Terrible Terrors if Hiccup needed her too.
"Then so be it...let's go." She said curtly as she grabbed his hand.
They both nodded at eachother, the house was a tad dark due to the fact it was early morning.
The two friends then ran out of the door...embarking on a whole new adventure, an adventure that would change their young lives forever.
