Mangle POV
I'm more than a little startled to wake up on a table with no recollection of what happened. Chica is sitting next to me, looking a bit misty-eyed. Oh, baby…
She grabs me and squeezes so tightly I'm worried she'll undo all her hard work. Admissions of happiness and love spill out of her beak. She fixed me. Nobody's ever done that for me before. Even the staff couldn't be bothered, but she could. She's a saint, she really is, and I hope she never leaves me alone again.
"Foxy," Chica releases me, wiping her eyes in embarrassment. "I don't know if you've met Bonnie. He helped me fix you."
He's standing behind me and gives me a wave. "Hey."
"Hi," I reply, smiling. Nothing in the world can ruin my mood right now.
Well, I didn't mean literally.
Stomping sounds become audible and grow increasingly loud before stopping a few feet away. Although we've never spoken, I can tell without looking that this is Freddy.
"Hi, Freddy," Chica says.
He nods in her general direction and speaks to Bonnie.
"Did you tell them?"
"Tell us what?" Chica asks Bonnie.
He looks guilty all of a sudden, and whispers something into Chica's ear. She whispers something back, a little heatedly, and he whispers back again. She sits in stunned silence for a second, then runs her forearm over her eyes and rests her head on the table, looking utterly defeated. What did he say to her?
"Hopefully I've made myself clear," Freddy booms. "You can stay, provided you pull your weight, but if I ever hear so much as you speaking each other's name again you both will be sent to scrap. Understand?"
He leaves without waiting for an answer. Bonnie rubs Chica's shaking shoulders as my head is spinning. What?
Chica looks at me tearfully and gently massages my hands. I can tell she's totally destroyed, but is keeping a brave face for me. She pulls my head down to her level and kisses me, long and deep. It's passionate, amazing and I wish it would never end.
She breaks it off after several seconds. Her wistful gaze and sad smile wreck me. She waves as Bonnie helps her out of the room and I do too, still a bit shell-shocked. I stare at her back as she leaves. I was willing to die knowing she felt for me, but not anymore. If she loves me like she says, she'll try anything to get us together. Just like I will for her.
