It had been a seemingly normal day if you can call a girl from the future in the past surrounded by demons and powerful monks and even more powerful Mikos, normal.
It was a normal day for her.
The only thing that had been out of the ordinary, which was becoming seemingly more ordinary, was the looming presence of Lord Sesshomaru. Also, something out of the ordinary that had become more and more ordinary was his tolerance of the once-future Miko. They were bickering, again.
Miroku and Sango had taken up a home in Sango's old village. It was time to rebuild; besides, her belly was growing, and they needed a home.
It left Kagome in Kaede's village along with Kikyo and Inuyasha. Once successfully gaining the rest of her soul, thanks to the help of the unlikely and reluctant help of the demon Lord's mother, they decided to stay near her sister. Kikyo had a lot of time to catch up on and sadly her younger sister was growing older, and time wasn't really on their side, again.
Sesshomaru had let Rin with them. She was getting older and needed to be with humans. Of course, she did get old, taller, and prettier, and she met a boy.
Sesshomaru wasn't ready and was quite irritated that no one cared to clue him in, hence the current non-normal event.
Sesshomaru had stormed off, refusing. Kagome had chased after him, yelling as if he would change his mind.
"She's at the marrying age!"
"Says the woman who refused many suitors at the age," He snapped not slowing, not stopping.
"For my time Sesshomaru, you and I know things work differently here, if she waits too long she will be alone!"
Rin was 17. Kagome had cringed at the idea when she was 17, but this was the fact of the world then. Especially when most humans didnt live past fifty.
"It's going to happen without your say!"
He stopped and turned and growled, "She is my ward,"
"She isn't property!
"No, she is just my daughter, I should have been aware, asked,"
"Well, sorry, not my fault you dont come around more often; it's been four months, and you knew he was sweet on her!"
"You knew how to find me,"
"I thought you would be happy, you big jerk!"
"I will ignore your ignorance, seeing as you have no one to speak for your hand, but the kit should have known better,"
Kagome gasped; that was low. "It's all about being in control with you, isn't it," She said calmly.
"I would have said yes,"
"We weren't asking!"
"There is no we; Miko, the kit, and Rin will marry and leave you just as everyone else has,"
She lifted her hand to slap him, but he caught it. "It is about tradition, Miko; I am her father; you are her mother. You should have talked to me first," He said sternly.
Who knew she would be in a co-parenting argument 500 years before her birth with a demon lord?
Kagome blushed and thats when this normal not so normal day, became something, else.
