In the Blue Mountain Quarry, the narrow gauge engines were doing their jobs. One of the engines a pea green engine look felt down.

"Luke?" asked Skarloey when he noticed Luke

"Are you okay?" Peter Sam asked.

The little engines stopped working, they all looked at Luke.

"It's not about when you accidentally knocked Victor into the sea?" asked Rheneas.

Luke sighed "No! It's all about what happened before that".

"What happened before you came to Sodor?" asked Sir Handel.

Luke took a deep breath, "I'm going to tell you a story about my past on my former railway in Ireland"

All the narrow engines chuffed down to the turntable where Luke was about to tell his story. Even Owen and Merrick listened.

"It all began when The Mean Controller forced me to do hard work on her railway"

Years ago, On a railway in Ireland, A woman named Siobhan O'Malley or more known as The Mean Controller on her railway, She looked at her engines and workers trying their best they could, but their best wasn't enough.

Luke was not enjoying working on his railway, He struggled to work hard.

"She would often say that I and the other engines and workers should work harder with no breaks at all!" Luke told.

"Allright!" called Siobhan, "You're all going to work harder and that means NO BREAKS!"

"No breaks?" asked a worker.

Siobhan nodded, She held a bible in her hand. She was a religious fanatic who treated her engines (including Luke) and workers terribly.

The engines and the workers went back to work.

Then a girl with auburn long hair walked towards Luke. The girl's name was Deidre or Didi O'Malley and was The Mean Controller's adopted daughter, whom she also treated horribly. Didi walked on the platform towards Luke. Luke looked very sad and Didi felt bad for poor Luke.

"DIDI!" shouted Siobhan. "Go back into the house or else you'll be punished!"

Didi ran back inside the house crying of what her adopted mother said to her.

"What did you do? Luke!" scolded Siobhan.

"Nothing!" stammered Luke.

"Look what you did to my Didi!" she yelled "GO BACK TO YOUR SHED!" and slapped him with her bible.

Luke was upset and went back to his shed. Luke couldn't sleep all night after what Siobhan had said to him.

At Siobhan's house, Didi was praying inside the closet after her adoptive mother had locked her in there.

"Please" she prayed "Let Luke and I be free and away from my momma's railway so we can see the world"
