"Shadow, this is so sweet and you didn't have to give me anything for Valentine's Day but I do love it along with looking forward to the Valentine's dance later. I know how awkward social stuff makes you so it means a lot to me." Shadow heard Maria tell him. It was Valentine's Day in Green Hills so Shadow had made Maria breakfast along with giving the orange-furred hedgehog female his Valentine's gift which she loved and excited about going to the Valentine's dance later knowing she'd taught him to dance.
"You're welcome, Maria and love the locket. That way I have you with me." Shadow told her.
"You're welcome and know you will have fun at the dance." Shadow told her seeing her smile knowing this was going to be intresting making Maria agree. She knew that he was secretly excited about dancing with her like on the Ark hoping nobody would make fun of him later knowing they'd just have fun and maybe they'd play Taylor Swift at the dance making Shadow smirk as that was playing on the smart speaker in the kitchen making Maria smirk as they were dancing unaware Sonic had entered smirking at this.
"Did Maria like the gift buddy, and see she gave you the locket." he told him.
"Yes she did Sonic. We were just practicing for later." Shadw told him.
"Sure Shads as you and Maria like to listen to Taylor Swift." Sonic said.
"It's fine Shadow, you and I do like that music." Maria said.
Later that night, after the Valentine's dance, both Maria and Shadow were exhausted but haply but Shadow was making himself coffee and hot cocoa for Mariawhich was relaxing her as she was in pyjamas sitting on the couch asShadow was bringing the mugs into the living room joining her. "The dance went well and you surprised everybody but we had fun." Maria told him sipping her hot cocoa making Shadow smile.
"Yes, we did surprise the town, and danced the town Red lol." Shadow told her drinking his black coffee yawning because it'd been a long day which Maria got because she was also tired from the day's events so after their snack, they went to bed cuddling into the blanket as they both fell asleep in each other's arms
