Disclaimer: I don't own I Love Lucy

Lucy sighed. She was really annoyed with Ricky. He was always telling her what she could and couldn't do.

"LUCY I'M HOME," Ricky said.

"We need to talk," Lucy told him, "I'm tired of you acting like you're the boss. You always tell me what I can and can't do. You've even acted hurtful towards me when I don't listen to what you say. You're not the boss of me and what you do isn't okay."

Ricky sat down.

"That's the way my father ran his household," Ricky said.

"I'm not your mother," Lucy added, "There's got to be some changes around here. From now on we're equals. I expect you to respect me as much as I respect you. I love you too much to put up with your behavior"

"So does this mean I'm supposed to just keep my mouth shut when I think what you're doing is-"

"I NEVER said that," Lucy interrupted, "It means that you are supposed to tell me how you feel. We'll discuss it and come to a compromise."

"But there are some things you don't compromise about," Ricky said.

"Then you should take a hint," Lucy said, "If there's something I won't compromise on, it's because it's important to me."

"Well if something works why change it," Ricky asked, referring to a debate they had a few weeks ago.

"Because 1) it doesn't work and b) it makes me uncomfortable and finally because it caused problems in the past. The point is if you can treat me like an equal, that's great. If that's a dealbreaker for you we might as well part ways now."

"We need to come up with a different set of rules if I'm not in charge," Ricky said, "I'm not going to let things be out of control. I'm thinking I agree not to set rules and consequences for you and you agree not to be unreasonable."

"Fine," Lucy said.

"And one more thing," Ricky added, "Stop asking if you can be in the show. You don't have a good voice"
