"Mei honey, time to get up. You have school remember." Mei heard her mom say.
Mei sighed, as she got up, getting ready despite her black-brown fur and quills were messy from sleep getting dressed wearing a black shirt with the Team Sonic emblem on it with shorts packing her bag for school including Shads the stuffie of her dad for naptime seeing her dad entering as she hugged his leg.
"Good you're dressed as mommy and I were thinking you'd be late." Shadow told her.
She then followed him downstairs to the kitchen, seeing Maria had poured cereal into a bowl and juice in a cup for Mei seeing her sit down eating up making her folks relieved knowing how she felt about preschool but when she got there, she saw a hedgehog cub that looked like Sonic but her age making her confused.
"This is Chill and and new to our class." she heard the teacher say. Chilli noticed that Mei was shy and looked like her uncle Shadow putting her things in her cubby but would try talking to Mei at outside time hearing the teacher telling her and the other kids to come to the rug as Chilli and Mei were sitting beside each other.
At outside time, Mei was looking at clouds finding shapes but almost jumped or teleported guessing Chilli had been playing tag with the others making the female blue-furred cub nod. "Yeah but I got bored and curious about you." Chilli told her.
"Okay we can be friends, if our dads can be friends and superheroes." Mei said softly.
"I heard you made a new friend at school which is good." Mei heard her mom saying.
"Uh-hub. Her name's Chilli and related to uncle Sonic. She started school today." Mei told her making Maria get it as she and Shadow knew about Chilli being Sonic's cub from the future but was living with Sonic but they'd explain to her later seeing her having a snack humming something from school making Shadow smirk because it was cute
"Did you have a nap too daddy. I bet you went flying last night, right." Mei asked seeing him nod.
"Yep as I had things to do last night." Shadow told her knowing she loved flying with him just not all night as she had school during the him nod. "Yes mommy made me take a nap." Shadow told her giving her a hug ubaware his wings had came out making Mei giggle as her dad focused and they retracted impressibg Mei knowibg he'd taught her to do that relievibg Maria as things were calmer since Sonic and Shadow had been helping out with community things so they were tired which Mei didn't know about seeing her mom excited saying they were going to Tim and Maddie's later asking Mei excited meaning she'd get to hang out with Chilli hovering.
"Mei honey you're so excited, your wings came out." Shadow told her smirking.
"Oops but I know what to do." Mei told him landing on the couch. She then took deep-breaths as her wings retracted but got ready to go
