Author's Note: A theory about animus magic. I'm not sure if you've thought about this before, but I have, and it could change the 2nd Arc entirely if it happened.

Characters

Zephyr: A SkyWing

Cedar: A LeafWing

Zephyr: "Hey, Cedar, what're you doing in the library? You're not exactly the type of dragon that goes to the library to study.

Cedar: "YEAH, and I'm not STUDYING. I just had THE BEST-

Librarian: "Hey, be quiet. You're disrupting the peace and quiet."

Cedar: Sigh… "Anyways, I just thought of a theory and wanted to prove it right."

Zephyr: "About what, exactly?

Cedar: "About animus magic and how the Jade Mountain Prophecy would have changed if this was right.

Zephyr: "Tell me about it, Cedar."

Cedar: "Well, then stop being all SOLDIER about this. You know when Turtle made himself immune to Darkstalker when Darkstalker rises again?"

The two wander around the library, with Cedar talking about his thoughts, and his theory.

Zephyr: "If Darkstalker casts a spell to make sure no one can harm him, then no one would be able to touch him. But... if Turtle casts his spell first, making himself immune to Darkstalker's magic, could that work?"

Cedar: "Then Turtle's immunity would cancel out Darkstalker's protection. Darkstalker would be left vulnerable, and Turtle could finally finish the job. Easy enough, right?"

Zephyr: "Well, it's not that simple. Darkstalker's power is unpredictable. If he sees that coming, what's to stop him from casting a spell to make sure no one can be immune to his magic? That would block Turtle's spell completely."

Cedar: "Oh, right. Because Darkstalker's the perfect planner, isn't he? He's got the foresight to think of every possible move. How awesome but luckily having TERRIBLY ANNOYING HAVING VISIONS DIVE-BOMBING YOU EVERY DAY makes you worry about everything. And there's only one outcome, so he wouldn't study all futures so much."

Zephyr: "Cedar, we're talking about the most dangerous dragon alive. He's not some small threat. His power is great—The Jade Winglet didn't underestimate him though. They turned this evil dragon into the softest dragon of all time.

Cedar: "Then it doesn't matter. Turtle's spell won't work, and Darkstalker wins. We don't need to keep overthinking it, Zephyr. I'm pretty sure even a dragon as CLUELESS as you can figure THAT out."

Zephyr: "I know it sounds like an obvious conclusion, Cedar, but the timing matters. In the book, Turtle was fast, and he cast an invulnerable-to-Darkstalker spell before Darkstalker cast his. If Darkstalker anticipates that Turtle will try to bypass his magic, then there would be no hope."

Cedar: "Sure, sure. But if Turtle pulled THAT off, then Darkstalker will easily be killed by him. One spell from Turtle BAM, DARKSTALKER WAS BURNT TO DEATH."

Zephyr: "But that's the point. If Turtle can get his spell in place before Darkstalker even thinks to stop him, then Turtle could've had a chance to kill him, right? So many flaws in the animus magic."

Cedar: "You're starting to sound all serious and stuff. I think I might start liking you, Zephyr."

Zephyr: "Don't get used to it. But that should've gone back 2000 years ago to Fathom. Fathom should've probably caused Darkstalker to cast a spell on himself, causing him to not be harmed by other animus magic."

Cedar: "HA, but that's a POSSIBILITY."

Zephyr: Sigh… "Stop being so loud, you'll definitely knock down a mountain with how loud you're speaking right now."

Cedar: "Aw Zephyr, but there are only two possibilities: The if Darkstalker didn't protect himself from animus magic, and Turtle did, and also-

Zephyr: "The if Darkstalker protected himself against animus magic. Then we would have to have an annoying all-knowing evil jerk in Pyrrhia.

Cedar: "Exactly. Glad THAT didn't happen…

Cedar finish talking and start laughing. Zephyr joins in.

Zephyr: "I love your sarcasm, Cedar, but now I'm hungry. Let's go hunting!"

Cedar: "Sure thing, friend!"

Author's Note: I call this theory The Immunity Gambit, but I'm not sure if there's already another theory that goes like this. I hope you enjoyed this story. Reviews aren't necessary, but would help a lot. Thanks for reading!
