I am back with more of Pokemon Emblem: Terastal Engage! Before I proceed, let me first say that I am aware that Koraidon and Miraidon are genderless, but for the sake of the story, let us call them both 'he'.
Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or Fire Emblem of any kind. I own only my OC. The Opening used in this song is Halo, Pokemon Horizons 2nd Opening.

"Dragon-type Pokemon talking" (Only understandable through Alear)
Last time, Kris and her friends realized they had been sent to another world after the Tera Raid Battle against the Unknown Dragon Pokemon. Once they came to realize that, the three agreed to find a way back to their home world, and that to do that, they best remain with Alear and her friends. Not only would staying with them ensure their safety with how differently the world works, they could also offer their Pokemon knowledge to help people get along with Pokemon. One of them being Pokemon battles, complete with a demonstration from Kris and Nemona. Before they could end their demonstration battle, however, Corviknight and Pawmot saw something happening at a distance and called it off, prompting their Trainers and Alear to head straight to the source on Miraidon.
(Hurry, Corviknight!) Pawmot cried out.
(I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying!) he cawed, flapping his wings and soaring through the sky as fast as he could.
Down below, Miraidon sped as fast as he could under Corviknight, with Kris steering him around as they avoided as much trees and rocks in the area as possible in these woods.
"Wah!" Alear cried out, clinging onto Nemona as tightly as she could when their driver made a sharp turn around a tree. "H-Hey. I know we need to hurry, but can't you slow down?!"
"Sorry, you're gonna need to keep hanging on!" Kris told her.
"And try not to vomit!" Nemona unnecessarily added.
As though signaling some part of the Divine Dragon, Alear could feel her stomach getting queasy, and covered her mouth when she felt something gradually rising in her. 'I don't think I've been on a horse before, but I am certain this is more crazier than that...' she thought.
Nemona looked past Kris's shoulders to see the road before them, and widened her eyes at what she saw. "Hey, look at that light!" she shouted, pointing at it.
Enduring the small growing urge to vomit, Alear also looked past her and their driver to see the light she was speaking of, as Kris also glanced upwards for a moment. Like Nemona, she also widened her eyes at what was in front of them.
"What's that light...?" Alear weakly asked.
"That's the light of a Tera Crystal!" Kris answered, to her confusion. "But wait a second. Even if it was just a Tera Crystal up ahead, that shouldn't be enough to divert Pawmot and Corviknight's attention away from the battle."
"Which means there has to be something else up ahead," Nemona assumed, noticing how Corviknight is flying straight towards the light. "Since Pokemon is not common in this world, it's possible no one knows about Tera Crystals either."
"In any case we need to hurry. Miraidon!" Kris called to her ride.
"Full speed to the light!" Miraidon instantly understood, increasing his speed. An action that made Alear's stomach turn even more, as she desperately tried to keep her firm hold on Nemona.
'Oh! My stomach... I'm gonna be sick!' she thought in agony.
Come on, break through the clouds ahead
(Opening begins in a black background with a gold ring floating down, the blue gem glowing in the darkness.)
(Marth and the other Emblems suddenly got summoned out and engulfing the screen in bright blue light. Title then appears on screen.)
When I remember the words I couldn't say
I dove down to hide myself
(Alear with red hair and eyes is dying in Lumera's arms. As Lumera cried for her to live, scene changed to Present Alear crying, as Present Lumera peacefully died in her arms, her arm limped down to the floor)
Swimming my way through in uncertainty
I cut through the clouds and head for the blue sky
(Scene changed to Alear standing in the plains on Somniel with a saddened expression until Koraidon bumped his head into her back. She turns and saw Alfred, Diamant, Ivy, and Timerra looking at her happily, in which she returned as she and Koraidon approached them.)
One day, I'll look back
At that fiery red sunset
(Young Kris was with her father-figure in a meadow at night, as he gave her his ring. As she raised it up to the moon, scene transitioned to the ring on Present Kris's ring finger during the day, as she looked at it while blocking out the sun, sitting on the edge of a cliff.)
And burn it all into memory
(One by one, Penny, Arven and Nemona tackled her from behind, as she tried to not fall from the cliff with them. Miraidon happily joined in the hug, though rammed into them, knocking them all off, and saved them by going its Glide Form, with Arven angrily scolding it while in its mouth.)
Even if I can't reach the truth of the world
(With each beat, brief transitions of each of the Four Kingdom's Young Royals occurred, from Alfred and Celine, to Diamant and Alcryst, to Ivy and Hortensia, to Timerra and Fogado, with the ring entrusted is their kingdom floating between each sibling pair.)
Or the feelings of that girl
(Also in each beat, brief transitions of Nemona, Arven, Penny, and two Shadows. Each with their Pokemon team.)
It's okay to not understand
(Sommie jumps up, covering the screen briefly before jumping in Alear's arms to be petted.)
Just shine like a rainbow
(Sombron glared at the screen before roaring, causing the scene to zoom out and reveal a hooded girl, the Four Hounds, and their Corrupted army in front of him.)
Come on, break through the clouds ahead
(Alear ordered an attack, prompting her friends to charge towards the army. Alfred is cutting down Corrupted on his horse. Diamant swung his sword and knocked back some more Corrupted)
Even if we stumble and stagger
(Ivy burned some Corrupted from above on her wyvern. Timerra emerged out the flames and took out some Corrupted with her lance in a surprise attack.)
Just hold on and go farther
(Nemona, Arven, and Penny raised their Tera Orbs up and Terastallized their Partner Pokemon in a burst of light.)
Come on, run on to my future
(Alear in Engage State, Kris and Terastallize Meowscarada emerged from the light, charging at Sombron while avoiding the Four Hounds' attacks.)
At the end of this long, long journey
I'll remember you
(As the hooded girl charged up an attack, they stopped, with Alear looking horrified. Camera zooms in her blue eye, showing moments she had with Lumera in the short time she awakened. The hooded girl fired her attack at them, which landed in an explosion.)
One day, we'll shake hands
And laugh
(Alear looked up to see Koraidon and Miraidon blocked the blast in their Battle Forms. Both who let out a roar and charged at Sombron, colliding in a flash of light.)
A light appeared
(Scene changed to Alear sleeping against a tree and waking up.)
At the end of the rainbow
(She looked up to Kris holding a hand out to her with Koraidon and Mirardon behind her.)
And I found my dream
(She accepted the hand and got up. A breeze blew by, as they looked up at the blue sky.)
It did not take long for Miraidon to arrive where Corviknight was at; that being a meadow in the middle of the woods. Once it swapped into its Low Power Mode and came to a skidding stop, Kris and Nemona widened their eyes in shock at what the Raven Pokemon spotted, while Alear gratefully got off the Pokemon in relief.
"But that's…" she heard Kris trail off.
Alear soon recovered from the ride and turned back to the two Pokemon Trainers, noticing them and Miraidon looking at something with wide eyes. She followed their line of sight, and was just as shocked with the scene before her. There, in the middle of the plains, were more of the Corrupted she had fought earlier with her stewards. They who were surrounding an unusual, red and black draconic creature. One that looked strangely familiar to Alear, but she couldn't say where.
"What the heck is Koraidon doing here?!" Kris gasped, getting Alear's attention.
"Koraidon?"
"Probably the most aggressive Pokemon we've known. Why is he here?"
Nemona noticed something else on the field, and pointed at it. "He's not the only one here. Look behind him!"
Both Kris and Alear looked where Nemona was pointing, and saw- to the former's shock- a familiar orange-colored crystal on the field.
"A Tera Raid Crystal! So there is one here," Kris gasped.
"Yeah, but what are all those creatures around Koraidon? They're definitely not any Pokemon I know of. And they look people enough, but I know for certain they aren't," Nemona inquired.
"That's because they're not," Alear answered. "Those are monsters called 'Corrupted'. Corpses revived by evil power. Soldiers of the Fell Dragon, Sombron."
Kris, Nemona, and Miraidon glanced at her in stupor and confusion at the explanation.
"Corpses? As in... dead bodies?!" the former gasped.
"And 'Fell Dragon' as in something similar to you and Miss Lumera?" Nemona questioned.
"The Fell Dragon is not like me or mother. What we want- what she wants- is peace in Elyos. But the Fell Dragon, Sombron... I don't remember much about him, but according to Mother, he seeks nothing but destruction," Alear explained. "According to Mother, I fell in a coma when we defeated him. Sealed him away a thousand years ago. These monsters appearing mean that the seal on him is weakening, and Sombron will return."
Both Kris and Nemona went silent at the explanation. Though they realized how much different their worlds were, never did they nor their friends think they had ended up at any point when a war would begin. Such a thing was not a thought to be considered.
A roar snapped them out of their thoughts, as they turned and saw Koraidon knocking back some of the Corrupted charging at him. "Weak smelly humans! Away from Koraidon!" he roared out.
"Right, and then there's that guy," Kris muttered.
"What do you want to do with him, Kris?" Nemona asked.
"On one hand, I don't feel like he deserves any saving. On the other, leaving him to die in a different world, because of something that is not human or Pokemon? I don't know about you, but I think dying because of zombies is a little more than just disturbing." Kris turned to Miraidon then. "On another note, this is really Miraidon's call."
Miraidon looked at her in confusion at the claim. "Me?"
"You have a history with that Pokemon, remember? Even if you did get your revenge in that last battle, I don't know how you feel about it in general. I'm all for saving him, but what about you?"
Miraidon took her words to consideration, as he looked back at his arch-enemy. Watching as the ancient Paradox Pokemon fended off against the Corrupted. Indeed, as his Trainer said, it would be far too cruel for them to just leave Koraidon in the hands of these undead, even if he was a bully. At the same time, however, he knew Koraidon long enough, more than Kris and her friends. Arven, included. Even if they were to save him, Koraidon will just turn on them. Be it before the battle or after it.
"We can't just stand by any longer than this!" Alear shouted. The next thing anyone knew, the girl suddenly charged into the fray, much to their surprise.
"Alear, wait! Alear!" Kris called, only to be ignored.
"What do we do?" Nemona asked, as Miraidon looked up at its driver.
"Even if we help, there is no guarantee Koraidon will accept it," he whimpered.
Kris looked around the area, where she noticed several Corrupted approaching Koraidon, weapons in hand. "Alear doesn't know how dangerous Koraidon is. And that aside, even if he was Miraidon's bully, he doesn't deserve to be beaten by monsters," she reasoned. "This will be different from our usual Pokemon Battles, Nemona. What do you think?"
Nemona also looked back to the field, and fully agreed with what her rival was suggesting. "Then I guess we just have to be extra careful. Let's show them what we Trainers are made of!"
Kris smirked in amusement at the claim. "You do realize we won't be the ones battling, right?" Once she gave her that reminder, she looked up at Corviknight, who was still flying over their heads with Pawmot still on his back. "Corviknight! Get down here!"
(Guess we're going to take action,) Corviknight cawed out, soaring down to his Trainer.
With Alear, as she ran across the meadow, she swung her sword at the many Corrupted in her path, cutting them all down, as she reached Koraidon.
"I'll help you out!" she exclaimed, her back turned to it. "Don't worry. Everything will-"
"Out Koraidon way!"
Her eyes widened at the shout, as she turned and saw the red draconic Pokemon glare down at her with an arm raised. As he brought it down on her, Alear froze, shocked by the action. Before the scaly claws could meet flesh, metallic ones met the claws and parried it away.
"Claws off the girl, Koraidon!" Miraidon growled, landing between the two.
Koraidon's eyes widened at the sight of the robotic Pokemon, pupils narrowed in rage. "Weakraidon!"
"Alear! Are you okay?!" Kris asked, as she and Nemona both got off Miraidon.
"Huh? Uh, yes," she nodded, snapping out of her stupor.
One look at the two new humans in the area- especially one human- and Koraidon's eyes narrowed into a glare, letting out a ferocious roar. Kris looked up at the red Paradox Pokemon of the past, noticing a small scar under its eye. One she recognized so well.
"There's no doubting it now. You are the same Koraidon from Area Zero! Why are you here?!" she demanded.
Rather than answer, Koraidon let out an enraged roar, "Weakraidon! Human!"
"Look out!" came Nemona's cry, and Kris felt something pull her by the arm.
Tumbling down, she heard the sound of blade hitting the ground, and looked to see a Corrupted stand where she once stood, axe swung down and struck the earth, as Alear ran her sword through its chest, killing it off. Kris's eyes widened at this, with a shiver running up her spine as she took in what nearly happened, had it not been for Nemona.
"Thanks, Nemona," she thanked.
"De nada, Kris. More importantly…" Nemona trailed off, helping her rival on her feet, and get some distance away from the would-be assailant.
"Yeah…" Kris turned to the battlefield they got themselves into. To the several other Corrupted staring at them, Alear, and Koraidon. "This is definitely different from facing those Paradox Pokemon. You ready?"
"So long as you watch my back like I did your's."
At the indirect response, the pair went back-to-back, and their Pokemon got into battle positions.
"Be careful! Don't forget, the Corrupted are mindless killers who can't be reasoned with," Alear reminded.
Kris shuddered at the brief reminder. Especially as she recalled what could've happened to her just now. "So we are aware. Corviknight! Get ready!"
"You too, Pawmot!" Nemona called.
Both Pokemon let out their respective agreed cries in response, far past ready for battle as they joined their Trainers down on the surface.
The moment he saw their Pokemon descend to meet their human partners, Koraidon grew all the more enraged. "More Pokemon to beat!" he exclaimed. "Koraidon challenge you all!" As soon as he let out that roar, the sun above them shined brighter, in which Alear soon took notice of.
"Did the sunlight get brighter?" she wondered, though her voice not loud enough to be heard by Kris or Nemona. One who grimaced at the bright sunlight, while the other was feeling a bit excited, until she was reminded of what she was really to be battling.
Kris then turned to Miraidon and asked, "Think you can handle Koraidon on your own?"
The question shocked Alear. "You've going to have Miraidon battle him?! I don't know if you've noticed, but even if he did save me earlier, I don't really see how Miraidon can handle fighting that Pokemon!"
"Don't worry. If it's Miraidon, he's sure to handle him," Nemona assured.
Before Alear could ask how she meant by that, blue light came from the corner of her eyes, along with strange wind getting picked up. She turned to the source, where she saw Miraidon glowing that blue glow, and started hovering in the air.
"You want a battle? Then let's battle!" Miraidon exclaimed, as his body suddenly transformed.
Like his Drive Form, in his current form, his back legs were folded into his thighs, forming the engines he used while in his Drive Form. The gular sac in his chest area inflated, glowing bluish-white light, and his antennae flared up with electricity. The appearance much like that of lightning bolts. Even the tail was emitting the energy, down to the tip. All over his metallic body, light purple energy filled him.
He dropped down to the ground, activating his jet engines at the last second to save his fall, though remained floating in the air. He opened his eyes, revealing them to now be light blue and yellow now, and let out his own roar. "Have at thee, Koraidon!" With the roar, an electric discharge was set off on the field, surprising Alear when she saw the ground generating electricity.
"Thunder magic?!" she gasped out.
"Electric Terrain," Kris briefly corrected. "We'll leave Koraidon to Miraidon. The rest of us have all these guys to clear out!"
"Yeah!" Nemona cheered as she pumped her fist.
"You Trainers can't actually fight, right? In that case, it will probably be safer for you two to stay by the crystal where it's safe," Alear advised.
"We know, Alear. The way we fight is from a distance, after all! Let's go, Pawmot! Quick Attack!"
(Charging in!) Pawmot cried out in agreement, rushing towards the horde before him. He rammed into one of the Corrupted, and sent it flying into another, knocking them both down.
"Yes! Nice hit!"
"We can't fall behind, Corviknight. Steel Wing!" Kris followed up.
(I'll break the weapons in their hands, too, for good measure!) Corviknight cawed out, flying towards the group of enemies with his wings glowing. A pair of Corrupted tried to take a swing at him with their sword, only to be a second too slow, for the Raven Pokemon flew past them, and cut them both in two.
Kris and Nemona both flinched a bit at the sight, as the downed Corrupted also faded away. "Okay. That may need to take some getting used to while we're here..." she muttered.
"Yeah..." Nemona added.
Unbeknownst to them, another Corrupted was making its way towards them. By the time the pair realized it, it was already too late, as the Corrupted was right by them, axe raised for the kill. Before it could swing the sword down, however, Alear got in its way, and blocked the strike with her sword, as did Marth, who appeared by her side. The pair parried the attack away and made quick work of the Corrupted, killing it in an instant.
"Are you both okay?!" Alear asked.
"Y-Yeah. Thanks for that," Kris nodded, before looking back to the battle at hand. To the number of enemies they are to face off. "That's right, even if we hide in a safe place, that doesn't mean we won't be targeted."
Alear grimaced at the statement, regretting that she did not at least request for her stewards to come along. With this many Corrupted, even if Kris and Nemona had their Pokemon battle, there was no guarantee that they will remain safe from these monsters. There was only so much she could do alone to protect them. Not only that, but there was also that 'Koraidon' Pokemon to worry about.
'How can I be this great 'Divine Dragon' if I can't protect people I need to protect?' she mentally questioned.
"In that case!" Nemona exclaimed, snapping Alear out of her thoughts. "Pawmot! Ice Punch! Freeze the ground under the ones closest to us!"
(I hear you!) Pawmot barked in understanding, gathering ice energy in his fist and rushed towards a trio of Corrupted advancing towards their Trainers. Once he was close enough, he slammed his Ice Punch down at the ground, freezing a good portion of it and the Corrupted from the feet, keeping them pinned.
None of the three minded the cold, though, as they raised their respective weapons to strike Pawmot.
"Kris, now!" Nemona said.
"I see. Corviknight, defend Pawmot with Iron Defense!" Kris called out.
(Understood!) Corviknight cawed out, soaring to the Hands-On Pokemon. He managed to get to his electrical rival just in time, as he blocked the strikes with the metal parts of his body, which glowed briefly upon contact, and gave him the extra Defense boost.
"Pawmot, use Quick Attack! Come back here!" Nemona continued, to Alear's shock. A shock that rose more as Pawmot obliged to the order.
"You're going to make him abandon his comrade?!" she gasped.
"Not exactly," Kris answered for her. "Corviknight, prepare your Body Press!"
Upon command, Corviknight's body glowed its colorful aura.
"Pawmot! Use the Tera Crystal here as a footing and bounce back to Corviknight!" Nemona continued. A command Pawmot followed through with ease, as he Quick Attacked himself to the crystal and planted his feet on it, launching himself back towards the Raven Pokemon. Just moments before his attack struck, Pawmot flipped himself in midair, making it so that his feet planted against Corviknight's back.
"Now, fire!" both Trainers shouted.
At that signal, Pawmot pushed Corviknight forward- the latter who folded his legs in with his wings spread out wide- and kicked him towards the trio of Corrupted, as well as several others behind it. Thanks to the force behind the Body Press attack, as well as all the extra defense boost Corviknight has gained, the combo attack was powerful enough to knock all the adversaries down. Having them fade away from existence.
"Nice one!" Kris and Nemona cheered, pleased to see their combination attack worked.
(Yeah! Nice shot, Corvi!) Pawmot cheered to Corviknight with a thumbs up, who soon returned to his and their Trainers' side.
(You're the one with a good aim,) Corviknight coolly cawed, making Pawmot feel a little bashful.
Alear, on the other hand, was left speechless at the sight. She did not think the pair would come up with a countermeasure so easily against the Corrupted's advance, nor did she think that after that battle that went on earlier, both Corviknight and Pawmot would still have this much energy to pull off that sort of move. Much less be just as cooperative in working together.
"I gotta say. These Trainers and their Pokemon? They do know how to take us by surprise," Marth stated, appearing next to Alear.
"Yeah... It's amazing," she agreed.
Growling reached her ears as she looked back and saw the remaining Corrupted charging at them. Not in the least bit fazed by the display of power Pawmot and Corviknight showed.
"No good. More of them are coming!" Alear exclaimed.
"Yeah, we see that," Kris said, frowning a bit at the sight of the live corpses they need to beat. "I doubt we can use that same technique again. But..." She trailed off as she glanced at the Tera Crystal right by them.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Nemona asked, also glancing at the crystal.
"My Tera Orb doesn't need a recharge. But you? We're right next to a Tera Crystal now. No need to worry about wasting it, right?" Kris said, smirking at her.
Nemona returned the smirk, and pumped her fist. "Yeah. Besides, Miraidon set up a nice field for us, too. Can't have that go to waste."
Alear grew confused at the claim, as she watched the pair take out a black orb, similar to those Pokeballs. "What are you two doing?"
"You may want to stand back this time, Alear," Nemona advised. "Pawmot! Shine blazingly bright, my treasure!"
"Corviknight! Shine now. With all you have left!" Kris followed.
"TERASTALLIZE!" At both their chants, their Tera Orbs lit up, as light gathered within, tapping into the power their items held. The two tossed their orbs at their respective Pokemon, causing them to burst open, and engulfed the pair in crystals. The crystals dispersed, revealing Pawmot and Corviknight to have been crystalized, with symbols above their heads. A light bulb above Pawmot's head, and a large red fist in an uppercut motion with a spiraling teal shockwave above Corviknight's.
The sight of their new forms left Alear and Marth in a stupor. "They... Engaged?!" the Divine Dragon gasped.
"No. It's similar, but that's not an Engage," Marth corrected. "Still, that power... I can sense that they have certainly become stronger in that form."
(Oh yeah! Now I'm feeling refreshed!) Pawmot cheered, his body crackling upon regaining his Electric typing.
(Give me a moment to set the field,) Corviknight told him, already knowing well what their Trainers will want them to do.
"Corviknight! Gather the remaining Corrupted in one area! Brave Bird!" Kris ordered.
Corviknight followed through with the order, as he lit himself up in flames and flew towards the undead. They who did not seem to mind the advance, as they raised their weapons up to strike the Raven Pokemon. As they swung down, however, Corviknight made a turn away from the horde, and soared to another group of Corrupted, getting their attention as well.
"What are they doing now?" Alear questioned.
"They're having that bird get the Corrupted's attention. But why...?" Marth wondered, finding no valid reason to make a decoy out of Corviknight. Especially not against the remaining horde.
As Corviknight continued to get the attention of the last of the Corrupted in the area, he guided them to one particular spot on the meadow, and flew around them still, avoiding their attempt to attack him, and raised their aggression all the more. Due to this, if they had an ounce of intelligence in them, they had overlooked one thing of the spot Corviknight guided them to, and what has become of it.
"Now, ascend!" Kris shouted.
(Your turn, Pawmot!) Corviknight said, turning blue as he shot upwards at faster speed, breaking through a pair of swords and axes swung at him in the process.
"Pawmot, go! Double Shock!" Nemona called out, much to Alear's shock.
"Double Shock?! But wait, I thought that move can only be used once since it uses up all the electricity in Pawmot. Penny said so," she recalled.
"Only if it isn't Terastallized," Nemona explained, her attention still on the battle, as the light bulb on Pawmot's head lit up in preparation for the move being used.
(Take this!) he cried out, gathering a lot of electrical energy in him from both his Terastal state and the still active Electric Terrain. Once the energy was gathered, he rushed at one of the Corrupted and slammed his paws right at its feet... where a puddle was. Sparks of blue electricity emitted out Pawmot's hands, spreading to the puddle, and all the Corrupted in it. A burst of electricity was released from Pawmot's body, electrocuting them all the more. Once the deed was done, Pawmot leapt back away from the fallen horde.
Alear was baffled when she saw the move executed well. "It worked?"
"Not enough, though," Marth noted, seeing a few of the monsters weakly get back up.
"It's okay. We pretty much prepared for that," Kris assured. "Corviknight! Fly back down with a Body Press!"
Corviknight heard the command and broke out of his Brave Bird. (One last hit for good measure!) he cawed, the fist on his head glowing, and the colorful aura returning to his body, as he dove back down to the last of the Corrupted monsters.
As one of the undead swordsman got back up to its feet, it looked up to the sight of the Raven Pokemon descending down. Next thing it and its allies knew, Corviknight slammed right into them all, causing a dust cloud to form upon impact.
Alear grew worried for the Flying/Steel-type Pokemon, but saw that Kris, Nemona, and even Pawmot were not as worried. Not with the smirks still plastered on their faces. Looking back to the field, she was astonished to see Corviknight flying out of the smoke, which soon cleared to reveal all the Corrupted defeated and fading away.
"Yes! You did it, Corviknight! Pawmot!" Kris cheered.
"All the Corrupted down and out!" Nemona also cheered.
(Woo-hoo! We did it!) Pawmot cheered, jumping in place.
(What else is there to expect from us?) Corviknight coolly said, landing right next to him as they returned to their original state.
In light of this victory, Alear just stood there, staring at the four with wide eyes. She couldn't believe how easily they handled all those Corrupted, using a method that seems similar to the Engage that has to be done with an Emblem Ring. Moreover, against that big a number of those horrid beasts? She may have beaten against a horde as well in her Engage state with Marth earlier today, but she didn't have to face off against that many Corrupted. Nor did she fight them alone. And yet, for these four- two of the four, especially- to do what she surely would have trouble doing if she were to be here alone?
'Are all Pokemon this powerful? Then, as the Divine Dragon, how strong am I supposed to be compared to that?' she wondered, looking down on herself.
Marth noticed the lack of confidence his friend was having. In all honesty, after seeing that, he also felt a bit shaken up from what he saw, ironically enough. He could still remember the war he, Alear, and their comrades back then had fought all those thousand years ago, and never had he seen any power that could even rivaled what Pawmot and Corviknight displayed. Not from their side, nor from the enemy. If he did not know any better, Pokemon like those two could be more used as weapons in a greater war. One that Elyos would surely lose in, should the people decide to even try their luck in fighting against these creatures themselves.
And yet, despite how powerful these Pokemon are, the way the Trainers interact with them seemed nothing like how one would towards any other monster or weapon. Nemona fist-bumping Pawmot and patted him on the head- messing up the shaggy tuft of fur on its forehead- and Kris hugging Corviknight and petting him under his beak. Moreover, the Pokemon themselves seemed just as happy as their Trainers. Not to mention the way they had executed each of the girls' commands during their battles without any sort of hesitation, in a way that is far more advanced than simply attacking on command.
'For these people and creatures to be that powerful working together, yet still maintain a high level of respect for one another... Are a Pokemon's full capability unlocked when they develop a close bond with the human they are partnered up with?' he couldn't help but wonder. A small smile formed on his face then, as he subconsciously found himself thinking of his own bond with Alear. Theirs, and that of the other Emblems. 'Perhaps these Pokemon are like us as I had thought. And like them, surely we can be just as strong.' He glanced back at Alear when he thought that.
Just before he could say anything to cheer her up, however, a familiar roar broke them out of their minor celebration and depression. A thought then came to everyone's mind as they remembered one very important thing.
"Ah! We forgot about Koraidon!" Kris voiced out, prompting the group to rush to where the two Paradox Pokemon had taken their battle to.
With Koraidon and Miraidon, as soon as the latter got into his battle mode, he led Koraidon to a good distance away from Alear and his friends. He knew how dangerous this guy could be, and though he bested him once- rather, because of that victory over his ancient counterpart- he knew for certain Koraidon was going to hit back harder than ever before.
"Koraidon beat Weakraidon once! Koraidon beat Weakraidon again!" Koraidon vowed.
"Needless to say I am not 'Weakraidon', but 'Miraidon'," Miraidon corrected. "Not that such a thing would matter to a crude brute like you, I suppose."
Koraidon scoffed at his words. "Talk, talk, talk! Koraidon, battle!"
Miraidon sighed at the retort. "Not surprised at all." He then moved back just in time to avoid a claw attack from his arch-nemesis. He who relentlessly continued swinging his claws at the futuristic Pokemon, and failing to hit.
Koraidon gradually grew annoyed with how Koraidon was avoiding his attacks so easily. "Stop moving! Weakraidon, coward! Fight!"
Miraidon narrowed his eyes at the claim. "If I was taught anything, it is that there is no shame in running," he retorted. "Compared to you who only knows how to hit strong, I was taught to fight smart."
"Words of coward! Stop running!" Koraidon demanded.
Miraidon glanced away from him for a moment, noticing how far they have gone from his human friends. "It does seem like now is a good time." As soon as he said that and avoided another claw attack, Miraidon swung his tail up from under him, smacking Koraidon away from him
"Gh! Weakraidon, dirty trick!" he proclaimed.
"I prefer you call it 'playing smart', you Taunter," Miraidon returned. "You wish for me to hit you so strongly? Then here's something strong. Electro Drift!" Miraidon spun and ascended a bit, his eyes glowing red as his body began charging up in electricity. He then rolled like a wheel- becoming an electric, discharging wheel- and rushed at Koraidon at ultrafast speed. Miraidon practically pierced right through Koraidon, causing a a pillar of energy to explode right under him, electrocuting him.
"Gah! That hurt!" Koraidon roared out, glaring at Miraidon.
"You were the one who wanted me to hit hard, were you not? I only did what you wanted me to," Miraidon retorted, coming to a stop behind him, and turned to the ancient Paradox Pokemon again. "Furthermore, you seem to have forgotten. I am the one with greater field advantage."
Koraidon was enraged by the claim, as flames emitted from his mouth. "No more than this! Flamethrower!" A powerful stream of flames was released from his mouth, heading straight for Miraidon. Koraidon smirked as he watched the attack inch closer to his 'weaker' counterpart.
"It seems you have neglected one thing. I am not the same as before," Miraidon claimed, noticing the smirk. "Mirror Coat!" Just seconds before the flames struck him, Miraidon's body became surrounded by a glowing, reflective aura. Koraidon's Flamethrower struck Miraidon, but rather than do damage to him, it gathered and got bounced back to Koraidon, stronger than before. Koraidon was baffled by the action, but couldn't do anything much as the attack struck him.
"Gah!" he grunted, feeling the damage from his own attack, as he glared back at Miraidon once more. "You! What Weakraidon do?!"
"I can't use any non-attack moves because of your Taunt, but Mirror Coat does not qualify as such," Miraidon explained. "That said, the attack did still hurt a little. Parabolic Charge!" With electrical energy charging up in him, the futuristic Paradox Pokemon unleashed a blast of electricity in the air. An orb of sort is then formed in the middle of the blast, shooting multiple bolts down.
Koraidon was baffled at this attack, for it was not one that Miraidon had the last time they fought. "Koraidon no remember this!" he exclaimed, avoiding the bolts as best as he could, only to tell get struck by one in the end.
"I believe I said it before. I am not the same as before," Miraidon repeated, as the sphere shot down a bolt at him, healing him of the damage he had sustained from the Flamethrower. "I know not what became of you after the last time we fought, but I had not been spending my time only being my Trainer's ride. I have done my fair share of battles and training under her tutelage."
His words did not sit well with Koraidon at all, as he shook off the damage he took from the attack. "Yapping WEAKRAIDON!" he roared out, growing more irritated by this weakling before him, and flexed his muscles. "Bulk Up!"
Miraidon narrowed his eyes when he saw Koraidon use that move. "So you're to use that move to finish things, are you?"
"Miraidon!" he faintly heard, glancing to the source to see Kris and the others rushing to the battle.
"Kris! Koraidon's gonna use a big one!" he shouted in warning, gesturing to the ancient Paradox Pokemon.
Alear raised a brow at what she heard Miraidon say. 'Big one? What 'big one'?'she wondered.
Kris, on the other hand, noticing the gesture Miraidon was giving her, glanced at Koraidon, and knew well what move was coming up. "Mirror Coat won't be able to deflect that," she muttered. "However! Use Electro Drift! Spin in place!"
"Charging up!" Miraidon obliged, his eyes glowing red as he spun like a wheel once more. This time, rather than rushing at Koraidon at ultrafast speed, he remained where he was, taking in the discharged energy from the terrain.
"Wait, what's going on?" Alear asked, unaware of the next move to come.
As though to answer, Koraidon huffed and chuckled at the act. "Waste of breath! Not compared to Koraidon's strongest! Giga Impact!" he claimed, surrounded by a purple aura with yellow streaks of energy spiraling around him. He then rushed at Miraidon, prepared to crush the 'weakling' where he spun.
"Hey, careful!" Alear called, worried about how powerful the attack looked, when Nemona placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry," she assured her. "True, Giga Impact is one of the strongest of Pokemon moves, especially after getting that Bulk Up boost and Koraidon's Orichalcum Pulse. But that, compared to Miraidon's Hadron Engine boosted Electro Drift?"
As Koraidon inched closer to Miraidon, the electricity gathered from the Electric Terrain the latter summoned granted him more electrical power, as his Electro Drift seemed to have grown bigger. One look at that, and how close Koraidon was getting, and Kris shouted, "Now! Let it rip!"
At her command, Miraidon shot towards Koraidon's Giga Impact, stopping the attack in a standstill, much to the adversary and Alear's surprise.
"Push through!" Kris shouted once more.
Feeling her encouragement, Miraidon mustered all his strength and pushed against the Giga Impact. Sparks formed between the collided attacks, and ended in an explosion. One that knocked both Paradox Pokemon back.
"Start your engine!" Kris called, prompting Miraidon to make a quick recovery as he set off his jet engine-like structures and regained his balance. ""
Koraidon, on the other hand, fell on his back, baffled by the sheer strength his adversary now has, as opposed to when they fought before. He tried to get up, but due to the side effect of Giga Impact, he could barely muster much strength to get back on his feet. "Koraidon... Not done yet!"
Alear was baffled to see the downed Pokemon still want to continue. "He's... still going to go?" she muttered.
"Looks like there's only one way to finish this," Kris said, taking her Tera Orb out once more, in which the Divine Dragon noticed. "Now Miraidon! Shine now. With all you have left! Terastallize!" She tossed her glowing orb up at Miraidon, who like Corviknight and Pawmot became encased in crystals once the orb bursted open. The crystals dispersed, revealing Miraidon in his own Terastal state, as he hovered crystallized, with a blue draconic figure above his head.
"It's time we finish this!" Miraidon roared out.
Alear, on the other hand, was baffled by the terastallization, as was Marth. "Him, too?!" the Divine Dragon gasped.
"Not only that, but for it to be done so soon?" Marth added. "From what I understand, that Terastal thing these children do with their Pokemon is much like our Engage, but unlike us where we need to charge up the energy to perform it between battles, it doesn't seem like there is much charge to do for those states."
Nemona hummed lightly at the assumption. "You're not wrong, but also not entirely right," she said, to their confusion. "I don't know about your Engage, but for our Terastal Phenomenon, it's a mechanic that is able to be active through our Tera Orbs. Through it, we can change our Pokemon's type to a different type, or grant them an amazing boost in the type they already possess, particularly for the moves they have that match the type they're in. This mechanic can be used at any point in a battle, even at the start of it, and lasts until the end of the battle, or when the Pokemon in that state has been defeated."
Alear's eyes widened at the last explanation, since from what she has learned, Engage can only last for three attacks, and needs some time to charge up in order to be used again in battle. For this 'Terastal' thing to be useable during the whole battle? After witnessing for herself how much more powerful the Pokemon has become...
"That said, though, normally after the battle, we would need to recharge our Tera Orbs in order to be able to use this phenomenon once more, even if it's for a different Pokemon," Nemona continued, raising Alear's confusion.
"If that's true, then how is Kris able to use it?" she asked.
"From what she told me, she went through this big adventure in Area Zero- the sort of home area of the Terastal Phenomenon- and somehow upgraded her Tera Orb to be able to use it at any time without needing to go for a recharge. And boy, does it sound nice~ I would be able to have fruitful battles against her any time if my Tera Orb can do that, too."
While her last statement made them sweat drop a bit, it also reminded them of the actual battle at hand.
"Okay, Miraidon! Finish it! Tera Blast!" Kris shouted.
"Time we end this, Koraidon!" Miraidon agreed, gathering draconic energy in his mouth. Once enough of it has gathered, he fired a powerful azure fiery energy beam at Koraidon, who could only helplessly lie there as the attack struck.
"GRAAAHHHH!" he cried out, engulfed in the flames, with Alear flinching slightly at the scream.
The flames soon died down, and with it, Koraidon laid on the ground, completely defeated. With him down and out, the battle has ended, and Miraidon reverted back to his original form.
"Yes! Nice one, Miraidon!" Kris cheered, as Miraidon let out a huff in victory and changed back into his Low Power Mode.
"Nothing to it," he calmly claimed, as Kris and Corviknight both rushed over to congratulate him, as were Nemona and Pawmot.
"Someone definitely deserves a nice helping of sandwich after that battle," Nemona said, getting Miraidon's appetite going as he drooled upon hearing one certain word alone.
"Looks like that 'someone' agrees with you," Kris noticed with a chuckle, prompting Miraidon to nervously chuckle in return. "Alright, Miraidon. I'll make you a nice big sandwich for dinner."
"I will hold you to it," Miraidon said, looking forward to his next meal.
As they gathered around and praised Miraidon for his victory, Alear could only stare at the group in disbelief. She had thought so before, but Miraidon... He was a true dragon, wasn't he? Granted, his appearance is different from Lumera's dragon form, the power he held truly felt dragon-like to Alear. She couldn't quite explain how she knew, but it truly felt that way. Not to mention how she was able to understand what he and Koraidon were saying, even if they were Pokemon. As a fellow dragon, it must be natural for her to understand them. Though to be sure, she would have to bring it up to her mother when they get back later.
More than anything, the display of power Kris and Nemona revealed with their Pokemon completely blew her mind. If their people had some difficulties in dealing with the Fell Dragon a thousand years ago, long before Pokemon arrived, then would it be possible that, with their assistance, would they be able to fight through the war easier than before? If there were true, it would be very wise of her to get Kris and her friends on their side of the war.
A groan reached her ears then, snapping her out of her thoughts, as she and the others saw Koraidon weakly trying to get back up.
"That last attack did nothing?" Nemona gasped in shock.
"Not exactly," Kris corrected, knowing the expression in his eyes.
"Koraidon... can't lose. Koradion, no accept defeat!" he exclaimed.
"Give it up, Koraidon. Time has changed, and so should you," Miraidon told him, in which he did not take well.
"Koraidon, no admit defeat! Weakraidon and human... did..." Koraidon trailed off then, as he lied down on the ground, briefly glowing an orange color, to many's stupor.
Once the light died down, Kris and the others rushed over to Koraidon, see what happened to him in that light. Gathering around him, they could see that the ancient Paradox Pokemon's form had changed. The feathers on his head and rear have folded and closed up, and the sac on his chest seemed to have sucked further into his chest.
"What happened to him?!" Alear asked, concerned for Koraidon.
"We don't know. This is the first time we've seen Koraidon in this form. Though, by the looks of it, it seems similar to Miraidon's Low Power Mode. This form may be what Koraidon looks like outside of battle when weakened," Kris assumed, getting a good look at Koraidon's new form, and shook her head a little. "No, more that that, we need to do something about this Pokemon, too. We can't just leave him out here."
"Yeah, but are you able to catch him? He has a Trainer, remember?" Nemona asked.
"'Had', you mean. Considering the AI left to their destined timeline. That said, I don't know if Koraidon even still has a Pokeball."
While at a loss with what was being said, Alear knew well enough of the dangers in leaving Koraidon alone out in the wild. Not just for its own life against any more Corrupted roaming around, but also the lives of others who may encounter this one. It would be too risky to leave him out here.
"If I may make a suggestion," Marth spoke up. "Perhaps it would be best to bring him back to the castle?"
His suggestion surprised the girls and Pokemon. "Wait, are you sure? I'm not sure if you're aware, but Koraidon is extremely dangerous. I don't know if it's a good idea to take him there," Kris said.
"Be that as it may, it also seems to have exhausted all its strength from that final attack. And if memory serves me right, the dungeon in Lythos Castle has chains powerful enough to restrain dragons. That is, creatures as powerful as Pokemon, as well as weaken them to an extent."
"Oh! That does sound promising," Nemona agreed.
Kris, on the other hand, was not as reassured. "I don't know... We don't know if it works on Pokemon."
"No time to find out like the present. Plus, like the ghost said, Koraidon pretty much used up all his strength. Should be fine to bring him back. And on the off chance if he actually does regain enough strength to fight back again, you and Miraidon can handle him."
While still unsure with the situation, Kris also knew there was no changing things. Not when it was the only option they had at the moment. She may not know how Koraidon will act out- in fact, she was certain it will be violently. That said, she hoped the dungeon will truly be sturdy enough to keep him contained for now.
