Chapter 2
Thank you for the comments from the first chapter, I never expected to have people following the story already (especially since I haven't introduced one half of the crossover yet). I also have received a couple of people messaging about making art or comics about the story as commissions, I will say right now I am a college student, so money is kind of tight for me, so I am unable to commission art for the story right now. If someone wants to do it just for fun then I encourage you to do it, just link the story as a source, otherwise let me know, I would have never thought people would want to do fan art about this, but I would love to see it.
I am also thinking of making a story that is just ideas I have had for other stories that haven't been made, either because of limited time or lack of knowledge of a subject that would be a big element. While it would be many ideas, I have come up with I don't mind others taking or using them to make their own story with it, after all with the same idea it could lead to many ways it could be handled. In those cases, just give me a heads up that you are doing it (after all I would love to read how others handle ideas that I came up with).
Important thing to know, some characters may get bashed a bit in my story whether on purpose or by accident. When this happens, I just ask that you be respectful of it incase it happens to your favorite characters and understand that they may not be accurate for how I feel about the original character. An example is Dumbledore may be bashed at some point, but in the original story I really like his character and that this is just how he is in this turn of events.
Finally, between chapters 1 & 2 I can confidently say that I do not own either Harry Potter or Pokémon at this moment. Sorry for the long authors notes but now let's do this.
Chapter 2
Will Potter heading over the Potter mansion after James had a letter delivered to him earlier that day to come over as soon as he could, not sharing why just that he should head over. Will thought about having Abra teleport him over to his family home, but also realized that if he did that it could scare his nephew and niece, and the last thing he wanted was a young wizard to accidentally blast him with accidental magic. Especially after scaring James when he was younger and accidently hitting him with accidental magic, it took the house elves as well as their father all day to get him unstuck from the wall, and way longer to fix his hair. Having a little chuckle from that memory he made the decision to fly there on a Pokémon, and Latios hasn't been out of the island in a long time and was more than eager to go with Will, so the decision was made.
When Will and Latios made it to Potter manor they landed in the gated area, Will looked over to Latios, "Well I am going to talk to James and their family, it might take a while so if you would like feel free to rest, or if you still feel like flying go ahead just make sure you stay invisible if you do, we don't want a repeat from last time you did it." Latios nodded its head before turning invisible and flying off, Will chucked to himself about Latios before sighing, "I wish people would see this side of Pokémon, instead of just labeling them as another magical beast." Will turns to the door and is about to knock when the door opens, and he sees Fenrir opening the door, "Master Will it is pleasant to see you again, James is in the living room anticipating your arrival, and Lily is with Iris out of the house at the moment." Will looks at the noble looking house elf with a bit of confusion about Harry not being mentioned but shrugged it off and thanked the house elf before heading to the living room area.
Will entered the living room and sees the furniture still in the same places it had been when he was younger, and seeing his older brother sitting in one of the recliners with a bit of a grim expression on his face. Will sits in the recliner across from James and can immediately tell something is wrong, "James I know that look on your face, what happened in the few months since I have seen you guys." Will asked with a look of concern for his brother. After hearing Will asking, James took a sigh, and looked at Will, his expression unchanging as he finally spoke up, "Will, I don't know if there is an easy way to tell you this, but our parents have been killed by Voldemort." Will upon hearing this is shocked at first then started having tears flow down his face, with an expression of anger, "when did this happen" asked Will, "this happened 1 month ago on Halloween, I sent a letter the next day but you know how hard it is to get mail to you" James responded, as he got up and gave his brother a hug as Will is processing these emotions.
After a little bit of silence, Will finally speaks up, in which James backs away when he hears his brother, "I will go find Voldemort and end him myself, but first I want you guys to be safe, so I will once again plead with you to come to my home, it will keep you safe from whatever Voldemort may try." As Will attempts to get up James quickly responds, "Voldemort is already dead, he died that Halloween night." At hearing this Will is breaths a sigh of relief before sitting down and encouraging James to continue, after which James shares everything from going under the Fidelus charm and the betrayal of Pettigrew, as well as how Dumbledore figured out how Iris reflected Avada Kedabra back at Voldemort and became the Girl Who Lived and an instant celebrity among the wizarding populace.
With hearing this Will had a few questions for James about that night, "Okay brother I have a few questions the first one is why Pettigrew as your secret keeper and not me, Sirius, Remus, our parents, or even Dumbledore?" To which James responded, "Time was of the essence so while you were a good candidate, it would take to long for the message to get to you, and Dumbledore wanted said that it should be wizard that guards the secret." To which Will sighed, while he could have a Pokémon like Alakazam teleport him, getting the message to him would take long, so he is going to figure out a solution for the mail problem sooner rather than later. Finally, James continued, "The other reason why is Sirius encouraged us to use Pettigrew, while Sirius himself could distract the death eaters from us, since he and the others are the obvious picks." Will listened and understood the reason why and it made sense so he asked his next question, "So my next question, has Pettigrew been found and arrested yet, or will I have to find and kill him myself?" James could see the look of anger on his brother so quickly responded, "Sirus already located him, and he has been sent to Azkaban for the rest of his life." Will had a small frown, mainly at not being able to deal with Pettigrew himself but satisfied that at least he is being punished.
Finally, Will asked James his last question with a serious expression on his face as he stared at James, "My final question James is where was my nephew in that story and where is he now, I noticed Fenrir share all of your locations except his?" Will saw James fidget a little bit, before breaking down with tears rolling down his face, Will could instantly tell something happened, but didn't say anything just waiting until James spoke up, "Harry was also in the room that night that they got attacked, he survived the attack that night, but when Albus looked over him he said that Harry had become a squib." At this point Will softened up a bit, and understood his brother's reaction, but was still confused, "James I understand being emotional about this, I remember you being emotional about when our parents figured out, I was a squib, but that still does not answer my question, where is Harry." James beginning to calm down, looked back at his brother and continued sharing what happened, "We were distraught when we first heard it, but we knew that we still loved him, however Albus was warning us that he believes Voldemort is still out there, and that he will start training her when she is six, though he said that if Harry was still around that he would be a distraction for Iris, and that due to Iris becoming a celebrity in the world he would develop a jealousy towards us and begin to resent magic like what happens with most squibs. Afterwords he suggested having Harry move somewhere else, then when the threat of Voldemort is gone, we can bring him back into the family and that he would be more understanding then."
Will was growing more and more frustrated with every word, while angry at his brother for believing this, he was mainly furious at Dumbledore for suggesting it in the first place. It is true that most squibs grow to resent their magical family, but only when the family does not care for or love the child who became a squib, which sadly is common in the magical world. Will stares at James not saying anything, but James knew what Will was saying with that look, James finally sighed, "Lily brought up her sister Petunia, but mentioned that she would not be a great fit because of how she hates wizards and witches. After that I brought you up saying that you would probably be the best fit, especially since you know what it is like, but Albus brought up that where you live that it would be too dangerous for Harry to live there, and that Petunia would be a better place, especially since he does not have any magic he won't be hated by her." Hearing this Will got up, walked over to a wall and punched it, his hand was bleeding from the punch, so in his other hand he summoned a Poke-ball and sent out a Comfey who instantly saw the damage and healed his hand, then while leaving Comfey out summoned another one that had Meganium which provided a calming effect throughout the room and calmed down both brothers.
Will turned to both Pokémon, and simply replied, "thank you, both of you I needed that, now would you two like to wander around the mansion gardens for a bit." To which both Pokémon appeared enthusiastic about that, Will chuckled then called for Fenrir, which the house elf appeared instantly, "Fenrir, could you please guide these two to the gardens" Will asked the house elf who replied, "Most certainly master Will" and started leading the way as the two Pokémon started to follow Fenrir to the garden. Will finally turns back to James and sits in the recliner again and speaks to James in a calm voice, "Sorry for that display brother, but I needed to get some anger out, then I brought out Meganium to calm both of our nerves before we continued." Will didn't openly say this to James, but the flowers that Meganium can make not only can calm nerves but also remove minor mind arts like compulsion charms on people, while Will was not sure earlier on about it, he had a feeling that something was off with how his brother was acting. Will asked James something that was he didn't want to know, "Did you actually leave Harry at Petunia's?" James looked at Will and answered the question, "Well we had Albus take Harry there, we were worried that if we went then we might not be able to go through with the decision, of leaving him there until he grows up."
Hearing that his brother say that confused Will, "What do you mean until he grows up, I understand that he is staying there for now, but it sounds like you are implying that you aren't going to see him again at all until that point." With hearing that James gave Will a look that basically said that was what they were going to do, Will looked at him with a confused expression and was quiet for a moment to process what he had heard. Finally, Will spoke up again with a hint of anger in his voice, "So first you decide to leave him at Petunia's for him to grow up, and I remember meeting her when you and Lily got married and she does not care if you are a wizard or a squib she views them as the same from what I have seen. Then you decide to not drop Harry off yourself to the people that will be raising him for years, not to mention the fact that Dumbledore happened to know where they lived, and finally you decide to have no contact with Harry at all during his time growing up away from you guys and aim for him to hopefully forgive you later on in his life." At hearing this James nodded his head, and tears were beginning to form in his eyes, and Will sighs, for as mad as he is right now James is still his brother. Will heads over and puts his hand on James and comforts him as James is in tears over this decision.
After a little bit when tension in the room starts calming down again, Will asks James a about a different possibility, "James I want to know what hesitation do you and Lily have about me taking Harry in and raising him myself." Hearing this James looks at Will and thinks for a little bit before giving Will his response, "Albus was telling us how he would not be safe where you are specifically around the Pokémon, and how you are still connected to the magical world so it would not provide the isolation that Harry needs from it, and we are also aware that your position keeps you busy so we were not sure you would have the time to dedicate to raising Harry." While Will was hearing this, he was paying attention and listening to what James was saying, the points he was making is understandable, however Will decided to respond to what James was saying, "The points you make are fair points, however I am willing to counter the points, while it is true that I do have connections to the magical world, I believe being isolated from that world would not do the boy any good, also while I do admit Dumbledore is a great wizard, do you think Harry may have experienced magical exhaustion that night instead of losing all of his magic?" James looked at his brother surprised by what he was saying, but before James said anything Will continued, "I also believe that he should have some exposure to the magical world will do him some good, after all if you left him isolated in the muggle world the shock that his parents are alive and having a twin sister would already be too much, as well as his anger towards you, throwing the magical world on top of that would probably throw him over the edge." Will was saying with a serious expression, while James was opening his mouth to respond before closing it again until he gestured to Will to go on.
"Now for your point on me not having the time to properly dedicate to raising Harry, while I am normally very busy I would find time to dedicate to Harry, it is what someone has to do when stepping up, plus I believe he would have a fun time being raised where I am and he would probably come with me when I have to travel so he would have experiences from around the world and I would hire tutors to help with his education as well as be able to meet more people." James nodded his head and seemed to be realizing just how deeply his brother cares children, at least much more then Petunia ever has. To which Will got to the last point that James had for him, "Finally when it comes to safety, especially since so few people know where the islands are, to the point of the wizarding governments not knowing, we don't have to worry about attacks." At this point James commented, "You never brought up anything about the Pokémon though." Hearing this Will did sigh, but responded, "James you and your family are some of the wizards that have spent the most time around Pokémon and should know how friendly they are, Pokémon aren't the main reason that the islands are hidden, but the reason lies with how some wizards would use them for the wrong reasons. The truth is that when Dumbledore mentioned how dangerous they are he is purely saying what the general population of wizards believe, and the ICW mostly agrees that the islands should remain hidden from most because if the wrong wizard knew where the location was then they would try to use the Pokémon for their own purposes, also that man is petty because he thinks that just because he is a powerful wizard that he should have access to the island." To which Will sat back down, and Fenrir showed up with some water for the brothers, and they both thanked the house elf as he warped away.
James sat down deep in thought with what his brother has told him tonight, and he is making a lot of good points about how it would benefit Harry. After spending some time thinking, James simply said, "Will I want you to raise Harry, but I need to talk to Lily about it when she gets back later tonight." At which point Will nodded, "I would gladly take care of Harry for you guys, though it is understandable that you would want to talk to Lily first it should be a discussion between both of you. I could swing by later tonight after you guys talk, I have some business to take care of and some shipments of berries to the potion shops I need to make anyways so it works out." Will said, at this point Will started to get up and get ready to head out as he was, he turned to James to give him a flower, "James I want you to have this flower from that Pokémon Meganium you saw earlier, and keep it safe, while the flower is not as strong as having the actual Pokémon around, it can still remove compulsion charms of the people nearby. Also while I am out I also want to swing by Petunia's not to take Harry at the moment, but instead to talk to them about what is going on around him, and the situation with you guys incase Dumbledore chose not to tell them, and about the possibility of Harry coming with me, so you wouldn't happen to know where they live." At this point James looked at his brother and simply said, "Thank you Will, now for where Petunia and her family live, they are at…um where did they live at" James was trying to think, but groaned as he had no luck, went over to a list that had the list of address for people they knew, and when he got Petunia, he noticed that there was no address. In fact, the area where the address would normally be listed at is gone, almost like someone doesn't want James or Lily to know where Petunia's house is.
And that concludes chapter 2, I will be honest this chapter came out a lot faster than I was anticipating it to. Also, I just wanted to give a bit of a behind the scenes this was only intended to be half the chapter, with the other half being at the Dursley's house, but this talk between Will and James went on way longer than I anticipated it going on for. The only new OC this chapter is Fenrir, who is simply the head house elf of the Potter family.
I also believe that I have settled on what I am going to do with the pairing for Harry and who he will end up with, but it is not set in stone yet now.
Also, apologies right now, my school is starting up very soon so my next chapter may take a bit longer.
But some good news is I am when I mentioned sharing the other ideas I have come up with over time, that will likely be made soon, and will probably have more updates quickly, due to how it is going to work.
