My brother, Prince Adam danced with a fair maiden of the land which name I could not pronounce whilst I glided along the dance floor with Plumette but I only kept my eyes on one, the other prince. Prince Alexander, dressed head to toe in royal blue and his blonde hair slicked back. The opera filled the busy hall with people but otherwise silent, but then Alexander moved onto me "Looking lovely Beatrice. Please dance with me if you intend to be so insistent on looking at me." My cheeks were stained red from that comment.
Suddenly, the double doors slid wide open as if a ghost had touch them. An old hag appeared through the doors and Adam and Alexander stepped in front.

But then one night, an unexpected intruder arrived at the castle seeking shelter from the bitter storm, as a gift. She offered the princes a single rose.
Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the princes turned the woman away. But she warned them not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found within.
Her outward appearance melted away to form a beautiful enchantress
