Hello everyone! Welcome to my new bodiela fan fic. Since it's the first chapter, I don't want to say too much, so happy reading!

Chapter 1

Bode Leone, 3 Rock's newest Captain is getting ready for his first day as the new boss. The former inmate turned firefighter has been working harder than ever to provide for his family of 5. All that hard work has finally paid off and it's the morning of his first day at work. His wife, Gabriela is the Paramedic in charge at Station 42 and also a firefighter, although more often than not she's seen riding the ambulance giving out orders to her fellow partner, Lacey Mills.

Lacey and Gabriela have been partners for almost 10 months now and they have become pretty good friends. Gabriela and Bode hang out with Lacey and her husband quite often outside of work. The kids play in the other room or outside while the parents have adult time with just each other. Both Lacey and Gabriela's families have become great family friends.

It was 7:00 a.m. on a Monday in September, the first day of school for someone and first day of work for someone else in the Leone-Perez household. Today was Bodes' first day of work as Captain at the Three Rock Inmate Fire Camp and Riley, Bode and Gabrielas oldest has her first day of 4 year old preschool as she finished her first year of preschool 3 months ago. Gabriela had gotten up about an hour ago and was working on making her daughter and husband's lunches for their big days. She had to wake them up for their big days soon, but little did they know, it was possibly a big day for mommy as well.

That was because Gabriela had to go out before work and buy a pregnancy test. She had meant to restock on them this past weekend, but with everything going on from Bode's new job coming up, back to school shopping and more importantly work, she hasn't had time. Bode and Gabriela weren't able to get too much alone time to be intimate, but one of the times they had the past few weeks might've expanded their family from 5 to 6. This would be her 4th pregnancy, so she knows the changes in her body and this time around is no different. Her and Bode have been talking about having another child for some time, but they never really decided if they wanted that yet or if they should wait longer. With their jobs and their kids, there's a lot of busy days and long nights, so they weren't exactly sure how having another baby right now was the best option for them. They love the family they have and the children they made, but at the same time they thought it might be best to wait for now. Gabriela felt like she would be crazy not to be a little scared for what this means and how Bode would feel about it, but she knows that he would be excited regardless, because her husband has always been a family man and he's beyond dedicated to her and their 3 kids, so another one would just add to that dedication. But she can't help but wonder what this means for them now, if she really is pregnant.

Gabriela finished putting out her husband and daughters lunches before she made her way back upstairs to wake her daughter up. After she finished up the stairs, she turned the corner into Riley's room, the door was slightly open so she carefully opened it the rest of the way and made her way to her bed. "Ri, hey." Gabriela softly whispered as she put her hand lightly over her back. Riley groaned slightly, clearly not too excited about having to get up. Her other children would be bouncing off the walls barging into their parents bedroom, waking Gabriela and Bode up well before they needed to be, but Isabella couldn't be more different. She's usually quiet and reserved, especially when it was time for getting up early for school after a break. "Come on baby, it's time to get up, you have your first day of 4 year old preschool!" Gabriela excitedly whispered, but Riley was still not budging. "Do you want me to go get daddy to wake you up?" Gabriela asked with a small smile, Riley looking up at her with those bright blue eyes she got from her daddy, a wide smile began to form on her face. She adored her father, it was the sweetest thing. She was definitely a daddy's girl, and has been since day 1. "Yeah, I want daddy to wake me up." "Or do you want to wake daddy up with me instead?" Gabriela slyly asked, knowing Riley would jump at the opportunity. "Yeah, yeah! I wanna wake daddy up!" Riley excitedly replied as she quickly got out of bed and on her feet.

"Okay, but you have to be quiet, sissy and tay tay are still sleeping." Tay Tay is what her and her sister call Mateo, their baby brother. Mateo was born 10 months ago, making their family of 4 a family of 5. And it was the best thing to happen to them.

"Okay mommy." Riley replied back as she took Gabriela's hand and began to walk out the door and into the hall so they could go and wake Bode up.

Once they got to the door, Riley immediately dropped her mothers hand and ran her little legs into her parents' bedroom. She just recently started getting up onto her parents bed with a little help from the rocking chair right next to it, Gabriela always making sure to stand by when she does it just in case, but more often than not she does it all on her own.

"Daddy! Daddy! Wake up!" Riley tried to whisper, but it just ended up being her normal voice. Bode opened his eyes a little bit, but it clearly wasn't good enough for Riley. "Daddy! Come on, it's your first day work!" Her sentences were still a little broken, but her parents always knew what she meant. "Okay okay Riley, I'm up baby." Bode softly replied, the father letting out a yawn before sitting up in the bed. It's what he always does when she wakes him up, so she can get on his lap. The 4 year old quickly got on his lap and gave him a quick cheek kiss. Gabriela smiling at the interaction. "Mommy! Come sit!" "Yeah mommy, come sit." Bode repeated his daughter's words to his wife. "Happy first day." Gabriela leaned in for a kiss, one Bode immediately responded to. "Thanks baby." Bode answered once they pulled apart. The 3 of them laid in bed together for about 6 minutes before they had to finish getting ready for work.

"Are Mateo and Izzy with Amelia today?" Bode asked his wife as he began to eat the breakfast she just prepared for him and Riley. Amelia is their nanny, more often than not the kids are with her during the times Bode and Gabriela are at work. If they're not with them they're usually with one of their grandparents, unless they're at work too, which is usually the case. Roberta, Gabrielas mother is a professor, so she spends most of the weekdays teaching and their other grandparents Gabrielas dad Manny and Bodes parents Sharon and Vince all work at Station 42.

"Yes, they are." Gabriela answered her husband. "Sounds good." Bode replied after a slight pause. "How are you feeling about your first day as Captain?" I feel good, a little nervous." Bode said with a small smile. Gabriela letting out a small laugh in return. "You're going to do great, babe, I know it." "Thanks babe." Gabriela was about to say something else, but before she could, there was a little activity from the baby monitor and it sounded like someone was up. And that someone was their 10 month old, Mateo.

"Ooh, someone's awake." Bode spoke up, breaking through the silence. "I'll get him, you finish your breakfast." Gabriela replied as she began walking into her son's bedroom.

"Oh hello baby, good morning." Gabriela spoke with a soft tone, Mateo looking up at his mommy as he began to fuss around a little. "Come here sweet boy." Gabriela spoke as she picked up Mateo and sat in the rocking chair by their bed so she could feed him and spend some time with her baby boy before having to go into work.

Gabriela got her husband and daughter out the door just a few minutes ago, Bode was going to drop Riley off on his way to work. Gabriela still had about 2 hours before she had to go in, so she was just waiting for Amelia to be here for the kids, so she could go out and get some pregnancy tests before heading into work. She had to make a grocery list for this weekend so she started on that while she was waiting for Amelia. About 5 minutes later, Gabriela heard a knock on the front door, assuming it was Amelia she walked to the front door and opened it. "Hey, Gabriela." Amelia greeted. "Amelia, come on in." "How are you?" "I'm good, how are you?" "Good, thank you." Gabriela and Amelia exchanged greetings as she came into the doorway and took off her shoes.

"So, you're here with Izzy and Mateo until tomorrow morning when Bode gets back from work around 8:30. You'll have to pick up Riley at noon from pre-school, I sent you the address the other day." "Yes, I did get that thanks! I thought I would keep them here for a bit to play until I pick up Ri and then I was going to take them out for lunch and as long as it doesn't rain I thought we could go to the park?" Amelia asked, her and Gabriela always talked about her possible plans for the day to make sure they're both on the same page. "Yeah that sounds like a great idea!" Gabriela replied with a smile. "As always I'm just a phone call away unless we are on a call, if you can't reach me or Bode then you can always call the firehouse. You've been doing the same thing for years I know, but I always like to remind you as you know very well." Gabriela replied with a chuckle, Amelia responding the same way. "Yes, I know Gabriela. Thank you as always for the reminder." Amelia replied.

"Alright well I need to run a quick errand before work so I better get going. Text or call if you need anything." Gabriela spoke as she handed Mateo to Amelia. "Izzy is still sleeping, she should be good for another hour or so." Gabriela informed Amelia. Gabriela pulled into the parking lot of the drug store by the firehouse so she could get some pregnancy tests. She was quickly in and out and then on her way to work. She wasn't sure if she should take the test at the station or wait until she got off tomorrow afternoon, but either way she had to get to work.

Meanwhile, at 3 Rock Bode and his men were hanging out in the lounge of the camp while they were waiting to be called out for the first time today with Bode as captain. Some of the guys were still doing their time from when he was in camp over 4 years ago, but most of them got out within the first couple years Bode was out.

"Big man Cap." Bode heard a voice coming towards his direction and he instantly knew who it was, a wide smile beginning to form on his face. It was his best friend and fellow ex con, Freddy. "Freddy, hey man." Bode spoke to his friend. "How's the first day, cap?" "Pretty good man, but that's probably because we haven't gotten called out to a fire yet." Bode answered with a small chuckle." "Probably. So, how's the fam? Gabs?" Freddy asked his friend, Bode smiling as his beautiful family was mentioned. "They're great, everything's good. Gabs is great." Bode finally replied. "Great to hear man, I'm sorry I haven't checked in for a couple weeks, Janey was sick and then Cookie and I got sick, so it was rough for a bit, but we're all good now. "I'm glad, that's great, man." Bode responded.

Gabriela went straight to the locker room to put her stuff away. She didn't have time to do it in the car, so she had to put the tests in her duffle bag when she got into the locker room. As she went to grab them from her purse and put them away, Eve came into the locker room so Gabriela tried to quickly sneak the tests away but it was too late. "Gabriela Perez Leone, what are those?" Eve's voice practically echoed through the room, Gabriela immediately shushing her. "Oh, it's nothing. Just needed to restock." Gabriela quickly responded. "Oh my God! You're pregnant!" Eve exclaimed. "No, I'm not. But I might be." Gabriela said. "Well, did you take one of the tests yet?" Eve asked her friend. "No. I was just going to take one at home tomorrow." "Why don't you just take one here?" "No, I should wait till I'm at home, I'm not ready yet." Gabriela answered. "What's going on Gabs?" "Well, we weren't really trying and we kind of talked about having another, but we didn't really decide what to do for sure. So, if I'm pregnant I don't know how Bode is going to feel. "Gabs, he loves you. And he loves being a dad, he'll be so happy." Eve tried to reassure her friend. "You really think so?" "I know so. He adores those babies and you." Eve reassured Gabriela, again. "Okay fine I'll take it right no-" Before Gabriela could finish her sentence the bells rang calling out Station 42 and 3 Rock to a fire at the local community center.

The Ambulances and Fire Trucks arrived on the scene 5 minutes later to put out this fire.

"Mills, you start setting up Triage, I'll be there in a minute." Gabriela stated. "Got it, Perez." Lacey replied easily. Gabriela saw her husband start to walk up, a smile beginning on her face. "Hey, so have you seen 3 rock's new captain, I heard he's pretty sexy." Gabriela asked with a smirk. "No, I haven't, too busy looking at his sexy wife." Bode wisely responded. Gabriela laughed. "Really?" "Okay well let's do this Cap." Gabriela said to her husband.

"Okay Lacey, how's it looking?" "Not too bad, it seems like everyone's out. No black tags."

"My baby…" A woman's voice broke through the silence, Gabriela looking in the direction of the woman. "What's up, maam?" Gabriela quickly asked the woman standing in front of her. "My baby, she's not out yet." "What's your name maam?" "It's Amber." "Okay Amber, I need you to take a deep breath and answer some questions." "How old is your daughter and what's her name?" She's almost 5 and her name is Crystal." "Okay, Amber. I'm going to go find your daughter, okay?" Gabriela reassuringly told the mother." "Gabs, what are you doing?" Eve spoke up. "I'm going in there, Eve." Gabriela firmly responded. "No, let me do it, you might be pregnant." Eve quickly whispered. "Eve, I have to do this, I'll be fine, okay?" "Gabs wait-" Eve tried to reason, but Gabriela just took off.

"Where's Gabs going?" Jake asked Eve, Jake is a Captain at 42 and also Bode and Eve's best friend. "She insisted on going inside to get a baby who was left in the building." "What?! We have to tell Bode." "I know, I was about to radio him. Can I use yours?" "Yeah here." Jake quickly handed her his radio. "Bode, can you hear me?" Eve spoke into the radio, trying to get a hold of Bode. "Bode?" Eve tried again. "I'm here, what's up?" Bode finally replied, he sounded confused as to what Eve needed so urgently. "Is Gabriela okay?" Bode spoke up again. "That's why I'm calling, she went inside the building to save a little girl." Bode's eyes widened, the once poise man instantly going into panic mode. "Why did you let her do that?" "Hey man, come on you know when she sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her." Jake spoke through the radio this time. "Okay well I have to go in there." Bode demanded. "No babe, you have to stay out there. Our babies can't lose both parents." Gabriela spoke through her radio. "Come on Gabs, don't talk like that. You're gonna get out just fine." Bode spoke through the radio. "The fire is getting bad, I haven't found her yet." Gabriela responded after a moment. "Where are you at?" "I'm at the top floor, I keep calling out for her but I haven't gotten any response. "Crystal, Crystal are you there?" Gabriela tried to call out for the little girl again, but nothing. "Crystal?" Gabriela tried again, but like the past 20 times, nothing. But then, she heard a noise." "Crystal?" Gabriela shouted out. "Help me!" The little girl finally called out. Gabriela started heading in the direction of the little girl's voice. It took a minute, but Gabriela finally found the girl under some rubble. "Crystal sweetie, my name's Gabriela. I'm going to get you out of here." "Where's my mommy?" "Oh sweetie, she's outside, she's the one who came to us for help." Gabriela told the girl. "Are you a firefighter?" Crystal asked Gabriela after a moment of silence. "Yes, I am." Gabriela answered with a small smile. "Okay sweetie, we're going to get out of here, I need you to grab this mask and put it on your face, don't take it off until I tell you, okay?" "Okay."

"Where is she?" Bode exclaimed, the captain getting impatient as his wife hadn't come out of the building yet. "I don't know, they should be out by now." Jake answered his best friend. "There they are!" Eve shouted out as she saw Gabriela and the little girl coming out. "Gabriela, thank God." Bode yelled out as him and Jake rushed to Gabriela. "Here, I'll take her." Jake stated as Gabriela handed the little girl to him. "Babe, you need to get checked out." Bode told his wife as he rushed to help her to the ambulance. "No, I'm fine, seriously." "No you're not, you're going to the hospital, you inhaled way too much smoke." Bode demanded, the man clearly worried about his wife. "No really I'm-" Gabriela pushed back, but before she could finish her sentence, she passed out. "Gabs!" Bode yelled out as his wife collapsed to the ground, the man frantically trying to get her to wake up. "I need help over here!" Bode yelled out to his co-workers as they all began to rush to his side. "What happened?" Eve asked as they had gotten to them. "I don't know, she just insisted she was fine, but I wanted her to get checked out and then when she was pushing back again she just collapsed." Bode frantically informed Eve of what happened, the firefighter frantically trying to get his wife to wake up. "Okay get her on a gurney now, we'll take her to the hospital." "I'm coming with you." "Okay let's go." As they were wheeling the gurney into the back of the ambulance, a groan escaped Gabriela's lips as she started to wake up, the woman immediately coughing as the smoke she inhaled was starting to come up. "Gabriela, you okay?" Bode asked his wife as she tried to sit up. "No baby, stay down it's okay." "I'm okay, really." Gabriela tried to reassure her husband, the man sighing as she laid back down. "We still need to get you checked out." "Yeah Gabriela, it really shouldn't take long." Eve chimed in. "Okay fine, but as soon as we get the okay, I'm going back to work." "Woah no babe, if anything you'll be going home." "Oh come on, it's just a little smoke, I'm sure I'll be fine." "Either way, you're going home after this. Please." Bode tried to plead with his wife. "Ugh. Fine but if I get the all clear I'm going back to work as soon as possible. "Okay deal." Bode replied with a laugh, the man leaning down to kiss his wife on the forehead before they wheeled her into the ambulance and headed for the hospital.

"Okay Gabriela, let's talk about these blood test results." Doctor Moriah Lane spoke to Bode and Gabriela as she came into the room. "Is everything okay doctor?" "Yes, everything is better than okay." Dr. Lane spoke with a smile. "What do you mean?" Gabriela asked the woman. "Gabriela, congratulations, you're pregnant." Dr. Lane exclaimed. "Really?!" Gabriela spoke up as she turned to look at her husband, "We're having another baby?" "Yes, you are." "We're having another baby." Gabriela reiterated to her husband and Bode was so happy. "We are. Oh, I love you." "I love you too." The parents to be (again) were beyond excited to welcome another child into this world.
