Chapter 2:
Joe was talking with Bethany. "Have you heard of that school," asks Bethany.
"Oh yeah, years ago, something happened at that school, but no one ever found the kids," says Joe.
"It was all Uthman Adam," says Bethany, "the principal of Banban's Kindergarten! He was actually an evil scientist who wanted to do insane experiments on the children! He was a madman! A monster!"
"Mad scientist," says Joe, "so, you've been drinking?"
"I'm telling the truth," says Bethany, "you have done many stories like this..."
"I hate to be the one to tell you this... but all my stories are made up," says Joe, "see this hobgoblin? That's my niece wearing a mask!"
"I don't believe you," says Bethany.
"No, really, she's actually pretty under this mask," says Joe.
"Whether your stories are real or fake, you're the only one I can turn to," says Bethany.
Joe takes a look.
...
"Come on," says Joe.
"Last time, you nearly got her cut," says Rachel.
"But I didn't," says Maddison.
"It's a school," says Joe.
"An old, abandoned school," says Rachel, "I can't let you do this!"
"Mom, please," says Maddison.
Rachel feels she's gonna regret it, but she reluctantly agrees.
...
Joe takes a look at the school. "Creepy place huh? Name's T. My grandfather was one of the teachers at this school."
"You ever enter," asks Joe.
"No way," says T, "I've heard some weird sounds from there. I think that place has a monster problem!"
"And what would this monster problem be," asks Joe.
"Oh... I was being literal," says T.
"What," asks Joe.
"Yeah, I think there are monsters in there," says T, "every time I look at that window, I swear there's some bird thing looking back. Gives me the creeps!" He then shivers. "Yeah, I'm not going in there!"
"Do I really have to dress like this," asks Maddison.
"Yeah, you're Claire," says Joe, "apparently, she was the school's star student!"
"When I agreed to this, I didn't think I'd be dressed like a five-year-old," says Maddison.
"Think of it this way..." Joe thinks. "Pretend you're a powerpuff girl!"
"Cool, then I can punch you," says Maddison.
"Just go in the building," says Joe.
...
Maddison enters the building. She then looks at the mural and sees the characters. She then thought she saw something looking at her. She then walks into the room and sees Opila Bird, standing there. Maddison walks towards Opila and studies her. Maddison's about to touch her beak, but then Opila screeches at her and Maddison screams.
...
Maddison runs out. "Uncle Joe," says Maddison.
"What," asks Joe.
"There's... there's a bird thing in there," says Maddison, "it screeched at me!"
"I told you," says T.
"What," asks Joe, "look, I'll take a look inside!"
...
Joe enters and sees Opila Bird, standing there. Joe takes a close look, but nothing happens. "Ugliest bird I have ever seen," says Joe. He then turns around and takes a look at the room. Joe walks around. He then turns and sees Opila Bird behind him. "How did..." Opila screeches again.
...
Joe's running to the exit and Opila Bird's chasing after him. "Where's While E Coyote when you need him," asks Joe.
...
Joe makes it outside. "What happened," asks Maddison.
"I'll tell you what," says Joe, "we may have found our biggest scoop yet!"
