the coffin of andrew and audrey.
the ending of bird cage (when I first stared righing this before my computer tried to give up on life as well) broke my heart so I wrote this. also poor audrey not only are both her parents dead but her favourite one killed hemself right after promising they whould stay together.
well done andrew you created leyley 2.0!
with a steadily shaking hand he held the gun to his temple. finger slowly sqeeuzing the trigger ready to end it all.
looking into the mirror he noticed his reflection or what he almost thoguht was an intruder that somehow broke in a split second as he almost didint recognize the one looking back at him. yet it was strangley fimilar where he seen that kind of face bef...his father.
the same one that could not even rember his fucking name. the one that looked either only half counous or lost in thought. the one that followed his mothers every command without so much as a moment of hesitation or consideration.
the one that seemed like he was contemplating taking the same way out of this miserble existance on the apartment ledge all those years ago.
he failed andrew. as he did ashley and likely every other person that really counted on him at some point rather then growing a single Vertebrae for himself or either of his own children he relagded himself to being a passive yes man to everyone else especialy the women that for whatever reason decided to sleep with and keep the his baby.
the less that is said about his two faced egg doner the better. his weakness lead to them being at her mercy somthing she took advantage of and betrayed them at the first oppertunity.
all so wouldint have to deal with agency or accountibility and simply go down the road others make for him. but frankly the man was so vapid it was hard to tell what was going on with him.
he coudint do it. condeming her to being stranded in a coffin. with no help dwindeling food and at the mercy of the cruel outside world when it finaly opens.
he failed ashley already long before her death. he could not be what she needed him to be for her to resist her darker thoughts and impolses. leaning on him becasue there was no one else stubeling to stand without him.
he knew damn well the results. he is suffering know and likely will for a long time. but he decided in that moment he could not fail and condemn his daughter just to end it.
with a shaking hand. andrew slowly lowers the gun.
quitly walking back to the bedroom he sees audrey still fast asleep but with a slight frown on her face while reaching her little hand to where he had last been and slowly moving it around trying to reach him.
she truely is ashleys daughter. hopefully she will never be leyleys.
sliding back under the blankets he embraces her once again as the irrotation falls from her face. replaced by contnentment.
