Project Timekeeper

Background

Following five (5) separate failure instances of Project Timegate, the NSA expressed interest towards alternate means of stabilizing expatriates travelling across the temporal portal situated at Site-1A (Fort Meade, Maryland). Further study towards temporal related anomalies and observations were complicated by the termination of the last two temporal entities in 1995. As a result of this loss, together with the lack of documentation surrounding their activities, a system of trial and error has surfaced. Project Timekeeper was conceived as a plan to identify and recover the best means of stabilizing Subject-1A (Elsa Agnarrsdatter) through the portal.

Phase 1 (1997)

The remains of the temporal viewing device were reassembled following the July 1995 incident at Site-1A which resulted in destruction of the lower basement levels and termination of all remaining temporal entities (Codename: Timewalker I and II). Three NSA personnel with intrinsic knowledge of the device were killed during the incident, further compounding difficulties repairing the device. It has been observed that following an initial test run, the device never achieved full functionality as demonstrated during the initial phases of Project Timegate.

A comprehensive timeline of Subject-1A's lifespan was created and analysed methodically by leading experts in European history. Each major incident in the Subject's life and other political events in Europe were categorized with risk levels associated with temporal continuity. Following this, an intricate network of interpersonal relationships was generated and further analysed to determine the most suitable target for recovery.

Phase 1 findings

It was observed that Subject-1A's younger sister (Anna Agnarrsdatter, Subject-1B) suffered a non-fatal fall in the Arendelle palace at the age of four in 1795. Palace archival records indicated that the fall occurred due to Subject-1A's display of cryogenic powers and subsequently resulted in isolation from public view until her parents' deaths and her coronation in 1807.

All subsequent life events occurred as per Project Timegate. Including Subject-1A's assassination in 1857 by Revolutionary Terrorists which formed the basis of Project Timegate's recovery attempts.

Phase 2 (2002)

The reconstructed temporal portal was calibrated to 1795.

Initial test runs showed stability even without additional equipment originally withheld by Timewalker I and II.

Initial personnel entry and recovery completed without ill effect.

Following these successful tests, Subject-1B was removed from 1795, aged four.

Phase 2 findings

Subject-1B displayed none of the associated psychiatric effects upon exit of the temporal portal. The Subject recovered from sedation disoriented, but lucid.

An analysis was conducted on the adjusted timeline and revealed the following critical changes.

Subject-1B's removal was ruled as an accidental death by the Arendelle Royal Household due to Subject-1A's cryogenic powers. Her isolation and coronation proceeded as per the original timeline

Subject-1A's decision to intervene in the Napoleonic wars resulted in her death in 1813, 44 years ahead of the original timeline.

Without a surviving heir, Arendelle transitioned to a parliamentary democracy 70 years ahead of the original timeline.

Phase 3 (2003)

With the aid of recovered literature from the adjusted timeline (Insert: Plains of Hell account by Bjorn Hansen), additional temporal ingress and egress points were created during the 1813 Battle of Leipzig to facilitate Subject-1A's future removal.

Internal investigations within the DoD and Intelligence community earmarked two individuals currently employed at The Pentagon, Washington D.C. :

Susanne Richards, CIA Analyst, Russia/Far-East Bureau Desk

Thomas Sullivan, US Air Force Major, NATO Liaison - Royal Danish Air Force

The two named personnel were found in violation of non-fraternisation conduct regulations for DoD and CIA staff. Subsequent threats of dismissal elicited their participation in Project Timekeeper. Following Subject-1B's full recovery from temporal travel, she was administered experimental amnesiac therapy and placed in the custody of Richards and Sullivan. NSA-sponsored housing and a cover story were enacted to complete the guise. Subject-1B was eventually enrolled in an elementary school in the DC metro area. Richards and Sullivan's subsequent marriage occurred independently from NSA interference.

Proposed Phase 4 (2025-2027)

Subject-1A's test removal from the new 1813 egress point resulted in the destruction of two NSA basement levels, 7 dead and 36 wounded. Programme Director Hans Andersen subsequently suspended all attempts at Subject-1A's removal pending progress on Project Timekeeper. The earliest expected attempt will occur in 2027, when Subject-1B turns 29 years old.

Global Surface Temperatures will exceed pre-industrial levels by 1.5C in 2027. Independent NOAA/NASA studies have projected that the compounding effects of climate change will become irreversible after 2030.
