Chapter 8: Bowling at Arsenal Lanes

The next day, we all went down to Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville to go bowling and then go to dinner at Tessaro's afterwards. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, Lizzo, and a few songs from Pop2K prior to bowling. My score was a 99, Carly's score was a 93, Alex's score was an 87, and Sarah's score was a 96. "I really think that it would be fun to go on a hike in the park and it would be just as amazing as my 8th grade hike in the park," Carly stated. "I am definitely up for it," Spencer stated. "Did you figure out which park you wanted to go to yet, Carly?" Mr. Benson asked. "Not yet, but maybe in a few weeks," Carly replied. "I lost the volleyball match and I lost the bowling game," Alex stated. "I am just not that good at sports." "That's no way to talk, Alex," Justin stated. "Some days are lucky days and some days are not lucky days," Max agreed. "Back in our 11th grade spring, I did not even care about how well I played," Alex explained. "I was just there to have fun with my friends. "I am the one who is more obsessed with winning because I am a volleyball," I explained. "Carly is a playground ball, Alex is a tennis ball, and Sarah is a soccer ball." "A tennis ball, huh?" Alex asked. "I do not usually play tennis, but okay!" We then headed up the hill to Tessaro's. "Do you think that it is crazy that I got asked out to the dance back in high school and Sarah didn't?" James asked. "I don't care because I was at a Boy Scouts meeting that day," Henri asked. "Why does James have to keep bringing that up?" Sarah asked. "What is next? Is he going to bring up Nathan cheating off of my history exam?" "I hate to break it to you, but I dealt with cheaters in high school, too," Alex pointed out. "Not only did they cheat, but they blamed me for cheating, too. I am lucky to be an honors student and lucky that I am an only child in the family." "I was an only child until my mom married James and Henri's dad and then we moved into the same house together," Sarah stated. "I have dealt with my mom remarrying a lot of young men, too," Alex agreed. "We really understand each other, don't we?" Sarah asked. "Speaking of which, is there anything else going on with the band in the near future? Like any fundraisers or anything?" Sarah asked. "None that I know of right now, but we will let you know," Alex stated. Once dinner was over, it was time for all of us to leave. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
