Will walked the hospital corridor deep in thought. He knew the team were trying their best to find the people responsible for putting his friends in hospital but it still felt to him like there was something they were missing. He ran a hand through his hair as he approached a young nurse.

"Hiya, I'm looking for Tariq Masood?" He asked as the blonde woman looked up from the desk. Moments later he was headed into the room where Tariq was being nursed. Tariq's sister Sabrina looked up as he entered.

"He's sleeping."

"Ok." Will started at his friend in the bed in front of him.

"Why are you here?"

"My friend was in a bomb explosion." Will turned to the younger woman. She rolled her eyes.

"Because he works with you." She snapped. "If he was in a proper job."

"He would still want cake." Will snapped back. "He was in the bakery. That's why he was caught in the bomb. He would have been there anyway." He sighed as she folded her arms. "How do you know working with me put him in danger? What?"

"Dad told me he works for the police."

"Right." Will sighed. "We do." He knew the lie was one most of the Security Services personnel told. The fact Sabrina had believed it had thrown him slightly.

"Office work, boring he said."

"It is. Mostly."

"So, if its so safe and boring?"

"Sabrina!" Masood walked back into the room as Will shook his head. "Will is Tariq's friend. You shouldn't speak to him like that. Did he do this? NO. Keep a civil tongue young lady." He turned to Will. "I am sorry."

"I'm not." Sabrina huffed. "Dad."

"Not another word. We are all upset. We are all worried." He paused. "Can you go to the canteen? Get us all a coffee." He handed the teenager a £10 note. She huffed before leaving the room.

"She's just scared." Will sighed. "I get it."

"He's doing well. The diabetes is stabilised. His sugars are ok and the operation went well. Said he's just sleeping off the anaesthetic now."

"So, he's going to be ok?" Will turned as the older man smiled slightly.

"He's got a very good chance." Masood ran a hand over his face. "Find who is responsible. I know what his real job is. I know what the dangers are but this." He paused. "This is one of my worse fears realised. Something happening to one of my children. Find who did this."

"We will." Will nodded, knowing it was a promise he would have to keep.

Ruth walked into the small kitchenette on the edge of the Grid deep in thought. She knew they had a motive for what had happened to Tariq and Erin, what they didn't have was the person responsible in the Interview Room. She knew Adam and Zaf were out talking to an Asset but she couldn't shake the feeling that Efa Guy was one step ahead of them. She didn't like it.

"Ruth?"

"Tea?" She turned to see Malcolm in the doorway of the small room. He nodded as she took his mug from the cupboard. The Red Dwarf logo mostly worn away from the porcelain showed how long the senior officer had been working there.

"Will called. Tariq is out of danger."

"Thank God." Ruth sighed. "Erin?"

"No news yet. Ros has put extra security on both of them and the entrances to the hospital."

"I know." Ruth sighed, handing him the drink. "Erin is the target. Tariq was just." She sighed. "There. Could have been Beth, you or me. Just bad luck."

Malcolm nodded. "I have to believe that."

Ruth sighed, hoping the extra security would be enough to stop another attempt on the lives of her colleagues.

Adam stopped the car in the car park behind the Frog and Carrot pub as the rain began to bounce off the tarmac. Zaf rested his head back against the headrest deep in thought.

"You think this Asset would know where she is?"

"Efa?" Adam glared out at the rain. "Doubt it."

"Then why?"

"Because he may just have some information for us. Kevin is a scumbag but he has been useful in the past." Adam stepped out of the car as Zaf pulled his parka closer to him. "If I'm not back in half an hour."

"I know." Zaf knew the routine well enough to know that thirty minutes was the limit. Any longer and something had gone wrong. He checked his comms as Adam walked towards the corner of the supermarket. He could barely see the thin man waiting for him. He just hoped Kevin would be able to help.
