Chapter 3: The Unseen Monarch

--

The parlor was filled with the rustling of parchment and the low murmur of voices as the Potter sisters sat gathered in their childhood home, a sprawling manor that had stood for centuries, the walls holding the echoes of the past. Their parents, James and Lily, had long passed, leaving the house to their daughters, each of whom had made their own indelible mark on the Wizarding World.

Ariana, the Lady Potter, sat with an air of elegance as she flipped through Witches Weekly. Her silvery-blue eyes skimmed over the pages, her mind already drifting to the next spell she planned to perfect. Victoria, ever the ambitious one, was pouring over a letter from Frostbite Industries, her new employer. A legendary curse breaker, she had just been appointed to head one of their most dangerous projects. Celeste, known throughout the magical world as a renowned potions mistress, was sitting beside her sister, the quiet hum of a brewing potion still lingering in the air from earlier that day. Diana, the only one of them to choose the life of a Hit-Wizard, leaned back in her chair, scanning the Magical Times magazine, the expression on her face unreadable as her thoughts wandered.

"Frostbite Industries is a game-changer," Victoria was saying, her fingers tracing the edges of the letter. "Their new headquarters are at the top of the mountain, and they've been contacting me about taking on more... 'unusual' cases. They're willing to fund my research if I take on their job offer."

"Seems like you've made quite the impression," Celeste commented, lifting her gaze from her potion ingredients and eyeing her sister with a mix of pride and curiosity.

"It's nothing," Victoria said with a shrug, though her eyes sparkled with excitement. "But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a huge opportunity."

Ariana flipped another page in Witches Weekly, her fingers pausing as she came across a piece about the Dragonslayer. Her eyes widened when she saw the headline: The Monarch of the Northern Winds: The Dragon Slayer Revealed.

Without even realizing it, the room grew quiet as Ariana's voice rang out. "Wait... what is this?"

Victoria, Celeste, and Diana all turned to her in unison. Ariana held the magazine up, revealing the striking portrait of a man—sharp, regal, and undeniably powerful. Harry. Their brother. The youngest Potter.

Harry James Potter.

Ariana read aloud the text below the picture.

The Monarch of the Northern Winds, the Frost Emperor, the Necromancer, CEO of Frostbite Industries... Harry James Potter is many things, but the most striking title of all is that of Dragonslayer. Known for his magical prowess, Harry has recently been named the Monarch of the Northern Winds, reigning over a vast empire of magical creatures, with his most notable allies being the Frost Wyrms. He has defeated the Necrotic Lich of Yellowstone, restoring the magical ecosystem in the surrounding area. Harry is an elemental magic prodigy, specializing in ice magic, a Grand Sorcerer, and a member of the esteemed Archmage Society of International Wizards, or ASIW. With a pet phoenix and a thunderbird by his side, Harry continues to make waves as both a leader and a master of all aspects of magic, from enchanting to curse-breaking to warding. His unparalleled talents are seen by many as unmatched in modern times.

"That's... Harry?" Diana's voice was full of disbelief, her brow furrowed as she stared at the image in front of her. "That... that's our little brother? The Dragonslayer?"

Ariana's fingers hovered over the page as she processed the words, but she couldn't quite believe them. Her younger brother—whom she had always seen as quiet, reserved, and distant—was now a legendary figure. The Monarch of the Northern Winds. Harry had always kept to himself, his presence overlooked compared to their successes. But here, now, it was clear that their brother had become something else entirely. His accomplishments outshone anything any of them had ever done.

Celeste blinked rapidly, her cheeks flushing. She was the first to speak. "Well, he certainly looks... handsome," she muttered, unable to hide the faint blush coloring her pale cheeks. "I mean... he's... well... sexy."

Ariana didn't bother hiding her smirk. "Oh, we've all noticed, Celeste. Sexy doesn't quite capture the half of it, though."

Victoria groaned, running her hand through her hair. "And here I am, working for him. It's... It's weird, you know? My baby brother, the CEO of a major company, a Dragonslayer... It's a lot to take in."

"Don't act like you aren't already enjoying it," Ariana teased, leaning back in her chair. "I can see the gleam in your eyes. You'll work for him just like the rest of us did." She winked as Victoria rolled her eyes in response.

But the conversation shifted, and the mood in the room darkened. Diana, her sharp instincts always on high alert, crossed her arms and looked at the image of Harry thoughtfully. "I've never seen him in the spotlight like this. He always was the quiet one. The one who disappeared when things got loud."

Ariana's gaze softened. "He always was something of an enigma. No one understood him. Even with his magic, it wasn't enough to draw attention. Not like us."

Celeste nodded slowly. "I thought he was fine. I thought he was content with his research, his potions. But now... now he's an Emperor. He's someone we've never really known."

The room grew quiet again, the weight of their brother's unknown life settling over them. They had all had their successes, their own names in the Wizarding World, but Harry... Harry had transcended them all. A new legend had been born.

"Do you think... do you think he'll ever come back?" Victoria asked, breaking the silence with a voice full of uncertainty. "Will he want to reconnect with us? Or is he too far gone now?"

Diana's eyes flickered with a touch of sadness, and she let out a long breath. "I don't know. But maybe that's just who Harry is now. We'll just have to live with it."

Ariana turned the page, folding the magazine shut with a soft snap. "For all of us, Harry is still... Harry. No matter how much he changes, or how far he goes, we're still family."
