Chapter 7: Church Visit
The weather was a typical uninviting Autumn Cloudy sky, dressed in the same light clothing of always, a Dark Blue Blazer, white social shirt, a Dark Blue skirt, black stockings and simple black shoes, just a basic combing of my hair and voila, one Tanya von Degurechaff in pristine shape to make people turn their heads, even if the slight chill air of a classic Germanian Autumn was making people pick some warm clothing or wind protective blouses and jackets along Long Pants. Not that this body seems bothered either by Heat nor Cold like an average human would.
"Even the weather Matches today's walk, huh?"
Commenting, me and my Adjutant leave the Bundestag, this would be the last week "Borrowing" the Chancellor's office as Anya and her Girls would finish cleaning the Estate that got my Name on it. Truth be told, I just bought that tad too big for lonely me on a whim during my late years, the staffing was only with people Elya cross checked along her heir and head of the BND after her, Erika. Given Anya is also a Müler and a strong devotee of my Religion as well person, I guess her great great Grandmother wasn't joking when she said she wouldn't leave the BND vulnerable for someone not dedicated to keeping Germania as a great Tanyaist Nation for chance.
The walk is not long, ten minutes and there it is, Berun's Central Church of Tanyaism. Clean entrance, a bench or two for someone to get a brief rest, and the large double door, just the sight of those thick Oal doors speak of the quality and dedication for its maintenance. While a bit heavy, it ensures a lot of thingsz one being security, the Hinges were reinforced and made exactly to withstand impacts, and the Lock was a four Hardened Steel locking Bar design, with a specialized keyhole. Talk about overkill, the lack of first Floor windows just added to the feeling of this being a pseudo fortress more than a Church.
Inside, it followed the outside's focus on quality and measured decoration. The flooring wasn't white, but the reflection I could see of myself indicated lots of time spent polishing the stone flooring, the Walls were mostly of second floor Windows, the style like of those churches, vertical windows that aloowed plenty of light, chandeliers provided nighttime lighting, the third floor was for a simple office. It wasn't a tall or very imposing building itself, but the star of Tanyaism Churches were always their Underground.
"Hm? Fraulein, Vising, eh?"
"Mike, and... Sister Amelia."
The Blonde, Blue eyed woman in sister clothing bowed in respect. Mike... Was Mike.
"Never took you for the Religious kind."
I comment.
"Me? Nah. Just some freetime talks. By the way, I will be dealing with some odd business by the Republic, want some Wine from there?"
"And risk it having Frogs inside? I will pass. Bring some Ildoan Wine if you can make the detour though."
He laughed a bit and left. Shaking my head, I take the chance and get Sister Amelia to tour us both through the Church's underground facilities.
"Well designed, and comprehensive even."
"Tanyaism believes in Quality over going Cheap, Holy Kaiserin."
"I can see it."
Not only was the Material for the construction the best possible, the engineer and Architect both were in synch with delivering a Sturdy, durable, and comfortable place, after all, not only the Church Staff lives and does several of their duties in these Underground facilities, but it also serves as a place for followers without a Home to have shelter, a place to eat, and feel at ease to a degree.
"I heard that Streaming was a thing, never thought the Church would have their own Streamer and Virtual Streamer."
"It helps get the youngsters invested in Tanyaism. And Good Entertainment isn't easy to come by lately as well."
Good entertainment, huh? Guess that once I get to "Home", I should start looking into things and areas that could be of my interest checking.
The Tour ends at an Armored Door, the lock was an Eight Steel locking Bar design, held shut by special Hydraulic arms, the way to open the door? A Mage specialized Lock using a Puzzle Orb along an Encrypted password Orb. Given the absolute absence of Mages in the Military and Civilian Industries, one hundred percent that no one has opened this since the Last Mage left, replaced by lesser "Cheap alternatives", Magicians and their CADs.
"The Fourth and Fifth Floors are designated as exclusive for you, as such, no one is allowed in no matter what."
"Unless I allow, right?"
"Yes."
Hmmm...
Putting Mana in those Orbs, it takes me some tinkering, but I do solve the Puzzle, and using the Hint system in the password Orb, I find the Alphanumerical sequence. Door unlocked, it just gets opened a little, and my face frowns.
"Holy Kaiserin?"
"Nothing... Just... Did something with some Mana Charge get stored in some space down there?"
"The fifth Floor is a Holy Kaiserin Secure Vault, so perhaps?"
Wunderbar... A century steam cooking in an environment that kept Mana from leaving the space, bets off something in there with over a Century of History with me will become a Cute Antropomorphized Anime Girl that will Call me Mother...
"Seems then that looking down there will be for another day. Thanks for the Tour, Amelia Watson."
"It was my Pleasure, Holy Kaiserin!"
Leaving, I decide to put these thoughts about what's down there in the backburner.
X-X-X-X
Kaiserin kept close company to Tanya, as Tanya and Amelia went up the staircase, Kaiserin stops, and looks to the locked again door in the opposite end to the Staircase she was about to climb.
Staring there for a few moments more, she gets back to Tanya.
"Just wait, she will come for you."
She murmurs.
Inside that Vault, an item glows, a sad, gloomy, but hopeful glow.
