Greetings, Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey My Version. Sorry for the wait, and I hope you are ready for more battles to come for the PWT. However, I wish that more of this story would get more reviews, especially given that we are not only early into the PWT but also at the tail end of the story, not saying that we are going to be finished cause of it. No, I'm seeing this story through to the end, but reviews help. It gives criticism, and I also have a beta reader from that to help with my other stories. That said, I'm sure that all of you are waiting for Ash vs. Tobias and how I change the league, but I'm rambling. Let's get this chapter going, shall we?
Chapter 84: R
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
It was the next round of the PWT, and Ash was facing Nando as his match was wrapping up.
"Swanna, use Hydro Pump, let's end this." Ash commanded his Pokemon, who blasted what was Nando's Armaldo as it was about to go for a strike only to get blasted by the water/flying type with a powerful stream of water that hit point blank. Not much could be done as, due to its Rock typing, the move ended up knocking it out.
"Armaldo is unable to battle. Swanna wins. Moving on to the next round is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." The ref announced as Ash was celebrating, as was Swanna, who cawed loudly in victory while Nando returned his Pokemon to its ball. Ash soon walked over to him.
"Well, Nando, you battled a lot more than the Sinnoh league, and it's great to battle you again." Ash said to Nando, who nodded.
"It's been a pleasure to battle you again, Ash. I hope you will make it far into the Pokemon World Tournament, but I'm glad I lost to you and not someone else." Nando said to Ash, who nodded.
Both gave a handshake as they left the battlefield.
"With that, folks, the end of this round is now over, and now to show who will be up against who tomorrow." the announcer said as the screen cleared. Another batch of trainers who made it to the next round showed that Ash was up against Tyson in the next round, which Ash saw and wasn't surprised that he would be up against him.
Everyone of Ash's friends made it through to the next round of the tournament, including Misty and Clemont, who had their matches the day before this.
A lot of young trainers and new trainers were walking up to Ash, impressed and wanting to ask several questions to Ash, who was trying to calm them all.
"Now, one at a time. I don't mind answering many of your questions, but please remember I need some space as well," Ash said to them. The kids calmed down, and one of them spoke up.
"Sorry, sir. It's just seeing you battle that makes many of us want to be like you one day, a strong trainer. We all are asking for any advice, " one kid asked him, and Ash chuckled.
"The one thing I will say is to believe in your dreams and don't let anyone else choose what you are and aren't capable of. And believe in your Pokemon. They're your friends, family, and allies. They aren't fighting just to battle but for you as well.
Also, don't let losing be the be-all and end-all of your career. I've been through five leagues already, and Unova will be six once that comes up, and I've only won one of them."
The kids were in awe to hear that Ash went through a lot during his journey just hearing that.
They soon left, hoping to implement some of their newly acquired advice. They would train, believe in their Pokemon, and pursue their goals, no matter how big or small. Ash waved goodbye and soon approached Misty.
"Excited to head to Undella Bay? It was a good idea to see the ocean while we were nearby."
"It's a small taste of the sea life I used to have back in Cerulean. You can't beat the open sea."
Misty replied with a smile. This was one of the few times they could actually have a proper date.
"I know what you mean. I love the deep blue sea, though I love your green eyes more."
Both blushed at that remark. Though Misty pressed her lips against Ash's. The remark, though a bit corny did make her feel all kinds of special.
"Thanks. Now, come on. Let's go and see the deep blue sea."
She took his hand and led the way. She had been eager to visit the Bay while in Undella. Rumors of rare Pokemon along the shore or even sea items washing up all along the coast were made by some of the locals. It's not that she needed any, but a Water Stone was always a good item to have if you could find one.
As the shore was stricken by waves, the salt in the air was ever-present. It made you smack your lips for some reason, but in a good way. At least, Misty thought.
Ash was indifferent. It wasn't a bother, but it wasn't like he was enjoying the experience as much as Misty did. But that didn't matter. The smile she had every time she had the opportunity to be near the ocean was worth it.
As she explored and saw different corals and seashells, she found a few things. A Big Pearl. A few ingredients she knew could take to the right people to make some Incense, and before she gave up on finding a Water Stone, she actually found something of perhaps worth to any Eevee Trainer. A Moss Stone. One of the few ways to get a Leafeon. If she had no use for it, perhaps she could arrange a trade of sorts later on.
Overall, this was a good trip. Not realizing a good few hours had gone by and that her focus wasn't on the date that she and Ash had agreed to have dawned upon her.
"Oh, no. I let this day on the shore get away from me, didn't I? Now we have less time for our date."
She started to want to say more but a soft kiss from Ash calmed her.
"It's ok. You support me when I go off on my own tangents regarding battles. So it's ok to lose yourself in the moment when it comes to being the water."
Ash reassured her before seeing her items.
"Looks like you had a good day and found some interesting things. We can still have our date soon. In fact, what would you say about making it a double date?"
This intrigued Misty, though she figured she knew who the other couple Ash wanted to invite was.
"I'm not opposed to it. Pikachu and Servine deserve some date time, too."
She replied with a smirk. Misty knew Ash so well that he wasn't even shocked she guessed where he was heading.
"Thank you. I'm sure they will appreciate it."
Soon after, they returned to their established rooms and made the necessary preparations to meet for a quick meal soon. With her new items stored, both couples got ready and soon went to enjoy their time at the shops in Undella Town.
Ash and Misty had splurged on the other couple of their date when they sighted a small cart of Casteliacones. As the merchant explained that, due to the PWT, the opportunity to promote their famous Casteliacones was too good to pass up, while Pikachu and Servine enjoyed this sweet treat. Ash and Misty soon enjoyed noodles and other delicacies themes along the shops in the area. Undella was known for its villas and shops, which were normally vacant outside of the summer, but today, the town was booming with visitors and participating contestants of the PWT.
This would hopefully help promote the town as a year-round escape. It was a big component as to why they put in their bid to host the PWT instead of its usual home south of Driftveil City. The promising aspect of a new venue and increased marketing is that many ventures across Unova and the Pokemon World as a whole could benefit from making the final decision to have the PWT in Undella Town an easy choice. Even a small booth to host Alola's famous Malasadas was made. To say people were lining up to enjoy the delicious baked goods was an understatement.
Soon, Pikachu and Servine had their own conversation.
"Man, we needed this after everything that was going on lately." Pikachu stated while enjoying his dessert. Servine, who normally isn't a fan of cold stuff, was fine with this and agreed with Pikachu.
"Yeah, no joke, Pikachu. Especially after dealing with all the Trainers in the tournament and our journey throughout the region." Servine said as the group was walking around town some more. While they had been seeing some stuff while staying at Ash's family's villa near Cynthia's villa, they hadn't gotten too much time to see the entire town. They had to admit it was amazing.
"I can see why this place is known for its tourism and its villas. It seems many people have wanted to spend time or start families here, but it's almost impossible unless they're rich or have ties to the league like Ash does with his father. That's from what I've heard from many when we were on our journey." Servine said to Pikachu, who nodded. This place had an air of fancy to it. Maybe after the PWT was over, some people would want to make this a place of residence, but he doubted it'd be many. Even with the connections Ash had, villas here weren't those that had light wallets.
Speaking of light wallets. Ash had purchased a few more treats for them. Pikachu had his full but noticed Servine had been eating a lot more lately but didn't want to say anything, especially when he had a habit of putting his foot in his mouth, as he'd done that multiple times throughout the journey.
No, it wasn't just that she had been out of battle lately as well, even when everyone was willing to battle. Was she nervous? They'd been waiting for her time to battle against Dawn and Pikachu's ex Lopunny, so there was that or was it something else? But what exactly? Pikachu dropped it for now. Servine noticed Pikachu was positive and knew that he had a lot on his mind. She wanted to know what was on his mind but left it be for now.
"I will say this, Servine: I'm happy to be around you, have met you, and love you since you decided to become my girlfriend." Pikachu said to Servine, who was so flattered to hear that. She nuzzled his cheek, showing she was in agreement with his statement, before she spoke up.
"Through the good, the bad, and the ugly, we've been able to overcome it all together, especially with what we went through early on this adventure.
I think you had your eyes on me for a while, Pikachu, especially after that incident with my old Trainer and all who almost took both of us. It was an intense experience, but I wasn't afraid—not with you by my side.
I am happy that our friends have been there for us, too. With you, Emboar, and Samurott by my side, I know we've all made it through some tough situations and will be there for each other to the end. Who knows what the future will hold for us when we get there." Servine said to Pikachu, who nodded as if he wasn't trying to bring up some bad memories that almost ruined this date.
However, Pikachu noticed that Servine placed a little too much emphasis on the word "us" near the end. Again, he feels it is best to let it go because he wants to enjoy this time with his girlfriend, whom he has considered his mate for a while. Their bond is undeniable.
The group went further down to the ocean shore when they noticed a restaurant nearby that was famous for the area. Ash decided the group should go there for their dinner date.
Luckily, thanks to the League, meals were free for Trainers participating in the PWT until it ended. Of course, this was only true if a tip was added for the service provided and did not cause problems for the restaurants in this agreement.
Ash, Misty, Pikachu, and Servine went to get a meal and enjoyed their own dinner date.
With their bellies full. Ash let out a light belch to show his satisfaction of the meal. Misty chuckled lightly. He'd been known to be expressive when he had his fill. Pikachu soon followed in the same way as he licked the last remnants of Ketchup from his lips. Like Trainer, like Pokemon.
Servine had finished her final berry and approached Pikachu, cuddling against the mouse and enjoying the moment while Misty and Ash spoke.
"...with Tyson is coming up. I hope everyone is ready for that rematch soon. The field is narrowing down. I know there's someone I'm dying to face."
"Who? I only know so many of your rivals. Who's the unfortunate fellow?" Misty asked genuinely.
"Well, there's a lot of people I know I wanna face. Many are from Sinnoh, like Paul or Dawn. Many people underestimate Dawn cause she mainly does Contests, but she has a team that packs a wallop. But if I'm truly being honest, my loss to Tobias a few years ago hasn't sat well with me. Seeing him be in the PWT has lit a fire in me to where if we wind up facing each other, I am gonna bring my best team forward and take him down." Ash replied with such vigor. Misty knew the talks of battles always bright a different side to Ash. A passionate side. A determined side. She feared for the Trainer who stood in his way when he got like this.
"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, though. From what I recall, Tyson won the Hoenn League Conference when you faced each other last, and though you're not the same Trainer you were back then, neither is he. He's sure to caught different Pokemon and learned new things since then, so just be aware that as much as you want to win, so does everyone else. We gotta take it one opponent at a time. If you don't get to face Tobias this time around, there's always the next time."
Misty declared, and much to Ash's slight annoyance, he knew she was right. Facing Tyson was his current hurdle. It's been a battle, and he'd pull out all the stops to win. What came next, he would deal with then.
"You're right. I have to focus on what's in front of me, and right now, that's my beautiful girlfriend. Truly. I am the happiest I've been in some time. That's all thanks to you."
That statement made Pikachu smile. He knew all the ups and downs his Trainer and best friend had undergone prior to Unova. To see him happy meant so much, and he had to admit he was the happiest he'd been in a while, too. Meeting Servine changed his life.
More than he would know as…
"Hey, Pikachu?"
"Yes, my love?" Pikachu answered Servine.
"I…I'm…"
"Are you ok, sweetheart?" He asked, a bit concerned.
Ash and Misty were also curious about what was going on while Ash understood his Pokemon through the translator in his ear. Misty could tell what was going on but didn't want to spoil what was about to happen.
Instead of saying something, she used her vine to place Pikachu's paw on her belly, which was something he wasn't expecting. It was rounder now than before, though it was hard to tell for her line as Servine spoke up.
"I'm pregnant with your child, Pikachu." Servine said. Ash was surprised by this but not as surprised as Pikachu, who fainted the instant she said that.
With unexpected but joyous news of a new member to their family joining them soon our heroes end their day of rest and relaxation. How will they fare in combat as the next of the PWT and this journey continues.
Stay Tuned.
Done and done. Sorry for the wait. I had some help with this chapter and needed some break from the PWT for our heroes here. Before I continue, I want to say something for those who are suggesting collabs: 1. Please do it in the Pms not the reviews that is what that is for folks. 2. I already gotten another request so please hold off on those cause I can only do so many stories and I'm just one person and please bullet point it if need cause I do have a disability that makes it hard to process things. And 3. Please don't ask for comics in the pms/reviews cause A. I don't make money off these stories. I don't have a means of paying, and I know that some are scams. Not saying that all are. I know some work on commissions and need to make money, but I don't have ways to do so. So please stop asking. That said, it's Ash vs. Tyson next, along with that cliffhanger next time. See you all, and please review as we are getting closer to the 10th anniversary of this story.
