A/N: Welcome to the epilogue. It takes place a year later and everyone is eighteen.
Total Drama World Tour was a huge hit. The ratings were higher than they'd ever been. One might think this meant that another season would be greenlit but that was not the case. Soon after the end of the season a number of lawsuits were levied at Fresh TV. With such legal trouble the show was seen as more trouble than it was worth. Since Chris was a reason for most, if not all, of the lawsuits he was fired from his job.
His host career might have been over, but Chris was far from retired, or out of the limelight. Chris' acting career had a bit of a resurgence. Sure he's not playing the lead most of the time, but he's usually got a decent role. He's also in commercials quite often.
This is in no small part due to Noah. He was now the host's full time Personal Assistant with a payroll far bigger than someone his age would normally have. As Chris' Personal Assistant he was often put in charge of busy work the host would rather not deal with. This included a lot of paperwork and phone calls. Many of the phone calls were from people wanting to offer Chris a job. Most of which Noah would accept on his behalf, whether the host would like it or not. Chris would be upset, but it is keeping him in work.
Someone who had way less of a problem getting work was Chef Hatchet. After Total Drama was canceled a new show was made to fill the slot. A cooking competition show hosted by the one and only Chef Hatchet. The show was wildly popular with fans. While Chris resented Chef for taking his place, he got over it soon enough.
Chef wasn't the only person to get their own show with the cancellation of Total Drama. Kitty and Geoff got their own talk show where they interview celebrities much like the Aftermath. The two are still happy with each other and have even moved in together. Geoff often has parties over at the house and everyone goes to them.
Despite the bad vibes from the past Geoff and Kitty were more than happy to hire Anne Maria as a full time makeup artist for their talk show. Anne Maria is overall good at her job, even if her attitude can rub people the wrong way.
Many of the contestants were involved in show business one way or another. Scott had become a B list actor who is often hired to play villain roles. He's enough of a ham that its often the only reason anyone would watch one of those movies in the first place.
Eva became a bodyguard for hire. She's usually hired by actors who want to avoid the paparazzi. Her intimidation drives off the less determined, and her strength takes care of the more determined. Sometimes Eva is even hired by Chris and she gets to hang out with Noah again.
Dawn's communication skills with animals led to her getting hired as an animal handler for animals in show business. Dawn takes this very seriously making sure the animals are taken care of and given anything they might need. Her relationship with Ella is still strong, even if they are apart more often than either would want due to Ella's tours with Drama kin.
Drama Kin had a huge resurgence after World Tour and are now selling out stadiums once again. Ella often uses her cut of the money to donate to animal shelters. She's still pretty popular among Drama Kin Fans as the only girl.
There have been a few changes to Drama Kin. Trent and Harold managed to work out an agreement. Harold will keep beatboxing out of the songs Trent writes, and in exchange Harold will get to have a solo every concert where he can beatbox as much as he wants to. This arrangement has worked out so far. Topher is still part of Drama Kin, he feels he needs to get more clout before attempting to move on to the world of hosting
Topher also asked Alejandro for his brother's number after World Tour. The Spaniard had reluctantly given it to him. Topher called him and introduced himself. At first Jose wasn't all that fond of the blonde, but they quickly became friends as both enjoyed talking shit about Alejandro. Topher has even managed to convince him to go on a date or two. He doesn't know if it's because he's won him over, or to annoy Alejandro but he's not complaining either way.
Speaking of Alejandro he has started to compete in skating tournaments as a way of getting money and fame. It's something he's good at that doesn't require screwing anyone over. Oftentimes there are a ton of fangirls watching solely for his performances. Of course Alejandro isn't really interested in them. His heart belongs to one person only.
Amber and Alejandro have started living together. Alejandro isn't at home as often as Amber wishes but she has plenty to do while he's gone. Thanks to her stint in reality TV she has gotten the opportunity to write her own book. Ever the horror fan Amber has started work on a novel about a group of people kidnapped and trapped on an island where a sadistic man makes them compete in challenges for his own amusement. Totally not based on anything she went through…
Not the only person to write a book, Cameron is starting to write his own novel on growing up inside of a bubble. He hopes to have it published with the help of Ellody as he is also coauthor for another book on the effects Total Drama has had on people. With luck that book should get his foot in the door.
In addition to writing a second book, Ellody has begun her schooling to become an astrophysicist alongside her best friend Mary. She and Harold are still dating, and while both are busy with schoolwork, writing, and band tours, they talk often. Harold is even editing her book.
Not the only person to start schooling, Tyler managed to get a full sports scholarship thanks to his skill in hockey. He's still friends with Xena, who has taken out a student loan and begun the long journey to become a neurosurgeon. The two are lucky enough to go to schools relatively close to one another, so they can hang out.
Much like Tyler, Lightning has earned a full sports scholarship. He's not really interested in collage, but he knows it'll be easier to get on a real football team if he has proven himself in college games. He also keeps all of his fangirls fed with a constant stream of selfies taken while working out which he uploads to Instachat.
With the hundred and fifty thousand Brick gave to her, Jo has started her own gym. Several classes are held there. Many of which are led by Jo herself, and while some guys are stupid about it, they change their tune pretty quickly when she shows off her strength. She's been a source of empowerment for any women who want to bodybuild.
Brick enrolled in fashion school, and with the rest of his winnings he bought himself a house and a car. He also tends to donate to charities that help out veterans. He's pretty happy with Jo. especially when he has the time to workout at her gym. Admittedly they sometimes drive the customers away due to their tension that sometimes results.
Sammy also used her winnings to buy her own house and car. As soon as she turned eighteen she left her abusive family to independant. She's not sure what she wants to do with her life, but she's not going to let anyone control her anymore. She's still dating Trent, and while she wishes he wasn't on tour so often she is happy. Especially when Trent writes another song for her which he often does.
Amy was very infamous after Total Drama, but while there were many who hated her, there were many others that enjoyed her bitchy attitude. She's found her home on the internet as a blogger who systematically takes down whatever thing is annoying her this week. It is surprisingly popular.
Following Total Drama Duncan started his own punk rock band named Grudge. It's members comprise of himself, Gwen. Crimson, and Ennui. They are very popular and many people wonder if they would ever collab with Drama kin. It was unlikely considering the vastly different genres, but they could dream.
Gwen is still dating Duncan and the two are pretty happy with each other. She's helped write many songs for the band Grudge, and makes money on the side as a freelance artist. Most of Grudge's album covers are made by her.
Crimson is doing fine. She and her best friend Ennui are greatly enjoying their tour with Grudge. She has many fans from her time on Total Drama and many more from the fans of Grudge. Despite this Crimson is unmoved. The only person she cares about coming to her shows is her boyfriend Noah, who comes as often as he can. Noah is the only person who can make Crimson break from her stoic persona and she's getting used to it.
Max is still in jail and will likely remain so for a while. He has quite a rap sheet now. Still its not as bad as it could be. Chris wanted him sent to prison for the maximum sentence. Given the host's own track record though they court went easy on him. Max is starting to realize becoming a villain isn't as fun as he'd thought.
Now one year after the end of Total Drama Geoff is holding a reunion party. Everyone has confirmed they're coming and the party dude couldn't be happier. He's even managed to rent out Playa Dos Losers for it.
The playa is shown from a distance before we zoom in on it. Geoff is making sure everything is set up and ready for the arrival of the guests. "You think we got enough food?" He asked kitty.
"Yeah, don't worry too much about it. How much can twenty seven people eat?" Kitty asked.
"Oh don't get me started. One time my bros and I ate like six or seven trays of chips and seven layer bean dip." Geoff smirked.
"I can believe that." The selfie lover smiled. "But don't sweat it, there's more than enough here. It's a buffet after all."
"Man, I can't wait to see everyone again." Geoff sighed. "I've missed them, you know?"
"Yeah. I think we're all attached to each other at this point. You know? You don't go through all that we went through without bonding in one way or another." Kitty smiled.
"So like everyone's coming on the boat right?" Geoff double checked.
"Yep. Well except for Max cause he's still in jail you know?" The selfie lover smiled.
"Yeah, dude really screwed himself over with that plan to take control of the plane." The party dude noted.
Hand in hand Kitty and Geoff walked over to the dock. "Any sight of the boat yet?" Geoff asked.
"I don't see it, but it'll be here soon." Kitty said.
"It'd better, I need to party soon." Geoff pouted.
Kitty kissed him. "Come on, you telling me we can't party all by ourselves?"
The party dude chuckled lowly. "Oh, I'm sure we could come up with something…" He leaned in to kiss Kitty, but she ended up knocking him to the floor of the dock when she waved her arms in excitement.
"I think I see it! Yeah! It's right there! Hey guys, I know you can't hear me yet but hey!" Kitty cheered. A groan could be heard. Kitty chuckled and helped Geoff to his feet. "Sorry about that." She told him, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.
"It's cool! I'd be excited too! Woo! We're gonna Party!" Geoff cheered.
The ramp lowered and instantly someone slid down it at top speed. This very quickly is shown to be Lightning, he is followed quickly by Eva, Jo and Brick all racing each other.
"I win!" Jo cheered.
"No way! I won!" Eva protested.
"Brick who won?" Jo asked.
"I think it was too close to call." Brick admitted.
Jo rolled her eyes. "Whatever. We're still the first ones off."
"No, Lightning was first!" The football jock protested.
"You didn't run, so you don't count." Jo scoffed.
"Nice to see you still competing. Welcome." Kitty smiled.
Next off the boat was Duncan and Gwen, with Noah and Crimson trailing behind.
Kitty hugged Duncan immediately. "OMG! I'm so glad you could make it!"
"Missed you too Kit Kat." Duncan smirked. "Geoff my man." He greeted, offering a brofist.
Geoff accepted. "Dude we've seen your televised concerts! You guys are such a hit!"
"We totally need to have you on the talk show." Kitty beamed. "We already had Drama Kin, and it was our highest rated episode yet!"
"Of course it was, we're the original Total Drama band." A snide voice intervened. The focus moved out to show it was Topher, along with the rest of Drama kin, as well as Dawn, Ellody, and Sammy.
"You're also far more generic." Noah smirked back at Topher.
"You're only saying that because your girlfriend is in Grudge." Topher scoffed.
"Man, it's not a competition." Trent said. "There's enough room in the world for all types of music."
"Don't worry Topher's only saying that because he's self conscious about not being the only band anymore." Dawn spoke up.
"Please stop telling people my inner thoughts!" Topher snapped.
"Honestly, I don't really like Grudge's music, but they play it well. And an artist must respect that." Harold said
"I find it a little too loud, but that's only my opinion on the matter. I would be interested in seeing how your different variations of music affect brain waves." Ellody smiled.
"Both bands are great." Sammy said.
"I agree! I watched Grudge's music and, well I didn't understand most of it, but I know it means a lot to someone." Ella smiled.
"Can we get off this stupid ramp yet?" Amy huffed.
"Of course! Welcome all." Geoff said.
Next was Alejandro and Amber. "Hey guys. Relationship was strong as ever?" Kitty asked.
"Indeed, we are quite happy with our current lives. Amber's book is quite good so far and I have been nailing all of my competitions." Alejandro smiled.
"The only thing that sucks is that Topher somehow wormed his way back into Alejandro's life." Amber frowned.
"I heard about that. I mean, I get moving on, but to your brother?" Geoff said. "I mean, he's eighteen and Jose's only a few years older, so there's nothing technically wrong with it, but it feels weird."
"They've only been on two dates." Alejandro huffed. "But as far as I'm concerned he can have Topher."
"Honestly, I'm happy he's getting the chance!" Anne Maria chipped in.
Alejandro and Amber coldly ignored her and stepped off the ramp. Anne Maria followed with a scowl.
"So what you're saying is, you think you got gypped." A nerdy voice came.
"Yeah! I mean, I should have stayed longer in season two! And I didn't even get into season three! I mean, you should feel gypped too! You were only competing in like six episodes!" A snarky voice replied.
The focus zoomed out to show voice one is Cameron, and voice two is Scott.
"I mean. After hearing about how badly the show affected everyone's mental state, I think we're lucky." Cameron said.
"Of course you do." Scott scoffed.
"Hey, Scott, hey Cam!" Kitty greeted.
"Dude I saw you in that movie? Like the one where you create an army of ultra intelligent chickens and they attack everyone." Geoff said.
"Yeah, Attack of the Chickens is one of my better movies." Scott smirked.
Both men get off the ramp, one still venting to the other.
The next two arrivals were heralded by a scream, followed by Tyler tripping down the ramp and face planting.
"Dude! Gnarly wipeout!" Geoff cheered.
Xena ran down the ramp. "Tyler, how many fingers am I holding up?" She asked, holding up two.
"Two?" Tyler replied.
"Can you follow my finger with your eyes?" She continued,
"Uh huh." Tyler did so.
Xena looked relieved. "You are probably fine then."
"Nice to see you two again." Kitty smiled.
Finally Chris and Chef walked to the end of the ramp. "Man, I gotta say I'm so glad you decided to host this shindig." Chris said.
"Yeah, cause he needs something to do between acting roles." Chef smirked.
"Hey, just because you get to host a show." Chris huffed.
"Looks like Chris has host envy." Kitty chuckled.
"Well, I'd think being a frequent guest judge on my show makes up for it." Chef smirked.
"It's not the same, but it does. A little." Chris admitted.
The focus moves out to show that everyone is mingling with each other. The first place of focus was Anne maria and Topher.
"I can't believe you landed that hottie!" The jersey reject squealed.
"I haven't landed him yet. We've only been on two dates and he hasn't even kissed me yet."
Topher admitted.
"Okay, sure, but even getting to date a hottie like that is an accomplishment!" Anne Maria smirked.
"You're totally right." Topher smirked.
The focus shifted over to Alejandro and Amber, who are watching this exchange. "I can't believe my brother is even considering him." The Spaniard sighed.
"I mean you gave him his number." Amber pointed out.
"You and I both know Topher would have hounded me until I gave it to him anyway. Besides, I was expecting him to get shot down." Alejandro said
"Well he wasn't and now we might have to deal with him during the holidays." Amber huffed.
"I hope not." Alejandro frowned.
The focus shifts over to Geoff, Kitty, Duncan, and Gwen. "So you two are still going strong?" Kitty asked.
"Yeah, it's been great getting to play music with everyone." Duncan smirked.
"I've been enjoying all the album covers I get to make. It's a good way to fill out my portfolio. It's already landed me a few clients." Gwen smiled.
"We're doing well too." Geoff said.
"Yeah, we noticed. Your talk show has only been the most popular thing for magazines to talk about." The goth said with an eye roll.
"What can we say, a lot of fans from the aftermath carried over." Kitty said. "Now everyone get in close so I can take a group selfie!"
The focus shifted to Noah and Crimson. "Man, how do you handle being around those love birds all the time." Noah asked.
"The same way you manage to handle Chris all the time." Crimson replied.
"So you also pretend to have taken up smoking so you get breaks from them?" Noah asked.
"No. I just wander away while they're distracted by each other." The goth deadpanned.
Noah smirked. "I love you."
"As do I." Crimson replied, smiling the tiniest bit.
"You've got color in your face." The cynic teased.
"I do not." The goth protested. "It's from the heat."
"RIght…." Noah chuckled.
The focus is now on Lightning, Jo, Brick, and Eva. The football jock is telling a story. "So then Lightning went long and he ran like fifty yards and caught the ball, scoring the winning touchdown!"
"Please." Jo scoffed. "That's nothing. Come to my gym and we'll train you."
"Sha Lightning doesn't need any training! Besides, don't you think your fashion school boyfriend should be asking?' The football jock teased.
Jo and Eva both looked furious, but before they could say anything Brick clapped back. "Remind me who won a million dollars?"
Both girls laughed at Lightning's expense. The football jock huffed. "Lightning woulda won, but his team didn't understand how valuable he was."
"Please." Eva scoffed. "We were so much better without you."
The focus shifts over to Trent and Sammy. "I'm glad you finally got away from your family."
"Yeah, things have been so much nicer since I moved out. No more dealing with Amy, no more being reminded of my failings by my mom, and now that I live somewhere else, people don't compare me to Amy anymore." Sammy said.
"I don't know how they could make such a comparison in the first place." Trent smiled. "You two couldn't be more different."
"And that's why I love you Trent, you see me for me." The cheerleader said, kissing him.
The focus shifted over to Amy, who was staring at them huffily. A tap on her shoulder makes her turn around to see Ella and Dawn.
"You know brooding about how much success your sister has compared to you isn't healthy." Dawn said.
"Yeah, I know. I'm just mad, I think. You know? Ever since Samey left, mom's been putting a lot of pressure on me. She wants me to get a job and move out, and make the family proud." Amy sighed. "I can't handle it. Like seriously, I vlog, blog, and get money from my followers, but mom doesn't consider that a real job. I'd move out in a heartbeat if I made enough money."
"I make money. The band makes a lot of money. I could help you move out." Ella offered.
"Really? You'd do that?" Amy asked.
"Of course. I don't want you to be bothered by your mother." Ella said. "Besides, this is your chance to show everyone who Amy is. Show people that you're not just a twin, you're your own person."
Amy smiled. "That's all I've ever wanted. And if Samey can reinvent herself. So can I."
The focus shifted over to Ellody, Cameron. Harold, Xena, and Tyler. "I heard you were working on another novel?" Xena said.
"Yes, Cameron and I have been working together to gather as much information on what we experienced during the show. Both what we ourselves noticed and what the other's are willing to tell us." Ellody smiled.
"It is truly fascinating, and our research could help people in the future. If we can show people that the famous are people as well, with their own psychological hang ups, perhaps we can lower the number of child stars having crisis's." Cameron said. "I'm also hoping to provide another viewpoint through my autobiography."
"And I'm editing Ellody's book. It really is proving to be one of the most challenging pieces of literature I've ever read, and it's not even finished. " Harold smiled. "My Ellody really is amazing, writing an introspective novel while going to college to be and astrophysicist."
"It's been interesting to juggle and I would never have been able to do both without Cameron's help." The genius smiled. "I heard the two of you are also pursuing your own Accademia."
"Indeed. Tyler managed to convince me a student loan would be worth getting in this instance. While not the most logical course of action, after looking at the job I want to get and the speculative amount of money I'd make it is not as dire as I would have thought." Xena said.
"And I'm playing hockey! I'm hoping to turn pro!" Tyler beamed. "Also, Xena's been taking care of me. Whenever I get hurt she's there to help."
"Hockey is interesting for someone so clumsy." Harold noted.
"Surprisingly Tyler is much better on the ice than normal ground. I'm unsure what it is that makes him handle a low friction surface better, but I hope to find out some day." Xena said.
The focus moves over to Scott sitting alone. "I kind of miss Max. Sure he was annoying but at least he kinda liked me."
An overall shot of everyone talking is shown when a sound of something tapping on glass can be heard. Several people are shown turning to the source. It was Chris tapping a spoon on his glass. He held up the drink. "I would like to propose a toast."
Hesitantly everyone took their glasses into their hands and the focus shifted to a close up of Chris. "I would like to say that we've known each other for a couple of years now. I've seen you all grow, and I have to admit you all turned out better than I expected. Did I torment you? Yes, but you all survived it. And now look at you. You've all accomplished something. And while I am more than a little bitter about being fired and having my show taken from me, I can admit that I'm proud of you all. So here's looking at you kids. To the future!"
"The future!" Everyone echoed, raising their glasses up.
Yes, Total Drama had changed them all. For better or worse, and while they all had their issues to sort through and would benefit from some therapy, at least at the moment the future looked bright.
A/N: And so our long tale has come to an end. It's been years in the making from late September in 2019 to late January to 2025. About five and a half years. It hasn't always been easy, and there were many times when I wanted to give up. Times where I thought I'd never finish it, and no one would care if I didn't. But by the time of World Tour, the end was in sight. I was determined to finish what I started and now I have. You guys are great. Thank you so much for supporting me all this time.
On to the ending itself, I know some people would have preferred Chris get a bigger punishment, but I think losing the show and his host job is enough. Chef finally gets to host the show he's always wanted to as well.
I knew I didn't want the epilogue to take place too long after the finale because when things are too set in stone it loses some of the fun. A year later felt perfect. It's long enough for things to have happened, and the cast to become adults, but there's still a lot that could happen to them.
I decided that everyone should have a somewhat 'happy' ending. Even Max, who is in jail, is not being punished nearly as harshly as he could be given his laundry list of crimes. And thanks to Ella Amy's finally getting the chance to reinvent herself. Also I loved the idea of her being someone who hate vlogs/blogs.
And then there's Topher. Like I said everyone is eighteen by the finale. Canon wise I like to think this takes place around the time All Stars airs, and the OG cast is eighteen by then. Jose always felt like he was very close in age to Alejandro, especially given their intense rivalry. So I figure it's cool if he and Topher date. I understand its strange, which is why they've only started and haven't kissed. That way the reader can decide if it goes anywhere or if they just stay friends. Either way I really liked the idea of Topher going after Jose now that Alejandro has 'lost all his villainy.'
I don't know if/When I will do another longform fic. I'd like to focus on oneshots and short stories for a while. If you want to see those I'm on Ao3. I've pretty much moved their now and have no intention of posting on anymore.
It's been a long journey, but I did it. I finished the series. I think this is one of my biggest accomplishments ever. Thanks for reading guys.
