Character Name: Zahari'el (Often simply called Zahari)
Age: Approximately 45 years old. He's been through a lot, and time shows on his weathered face, but he's still in his prime physically.
Gender: Male
Race: Redguard (Human, Tamriel)
Physical Appearance:
Build: Zahari'el is powerfully built. His years of adventuring and combat have honed him into a lean, muscular figure, even under the dense armor he wears.
Skin Tone: Dark, ebony-toned skin, typical of Redguards who hail from the harsh deserts of Hammerfell.
Hair: His thick, black hair is styled in long, tightly bound dreadlocks that reach his mid-back. Often, some strands are tied back with leather thongs to keep them out of his face during combat.
Eyes: Intense and piercing golden-brown eyes, which seem to hold a depth of experience and sometimes a hint of weariness. They're often narrowed with focus or suspicion.
Face: His face is marked by fine lines and scars - subtle reminders of battles fought and endured. His jawline is strong and determined. He has a short, well-trimmed beard.
Armour: He wears his iconic full Ebony Armor. It's meticulously maintained, dark and imposing, with the intricate designs of the Daedric artifact crafted into its surface. It conceals almost all of his body, except for his eyes, which can be seen through the visor. The armor is scuffed and scarred, carrying the marks of countless battles.
Weapon: Zahari'el wields the Ebony Blade, its black surface with its ruby red accents. Sheathed at his back when not in use.
Personality Traits:
Disciplined and Stoic: Years of being Dragonborn and having to contend with constant battles have instilled Zahari'el with a strong sense of discipline. He rarely lets his emotions show through, always maintaining a stoic demeanor, even in the most stressful of situations.
Honorable: Despite wielding a Daedric artifact, Zahari'el maintains a strong moral compass. He strives to act with integrity and justice, even when faced with conflicting choices. Even though he knows that the Ebony Blade corrupts its wielder, he holds fast to his goals as a protector and a hero.
Pragmatic: Zahari'el is not one to be blinded by ideals. He views situations with a clear head, analyzes the realities, and makes decisions that are most likely to be beneficial to the greater good. He is calculating yet, not in a malicious way, but in a way to ensure the survival of others, and his own.
Reserved: He is not overly talkative, often preferring to observe and listen. When he does speak, his words are direct and carry weight. He finds it hard to trust immediately, requiring actions to prove someone's worth.
Weary but Resolute: He carries the weight of past battles (including his time as the Dragonborn) and the constant reminder of the power he wields in the Ebony Blade, which carries a dark hunger for suffering. He is aware of the evil power of of the blade, and fights it off with his own willpower to remain a champion of good. Despite this, his resolve and sense of duty remain strong, driving him forward.
A Reluctant Hero: Zahari'el never sought the role of savior. He came to it through circumstance, and when he finds himself a stranger in Japan, his initial intent is to keep his head down. But his sense of justice and the need to protect the vulnerable pull him into the conflict.
A Hidden Compassion: Although he seems stoic and ruthless, deep down he protects the innocent and ensures that they can survive the conflicts and horrors around him. If there is such a thing as a soft spot, it would be for those who are innocent and in need.
Background:
The Dragonborn: In his home world of Skyrim, Zahari'el was the Dragonborn, the prophesized hero who defeated Alduin and brought stability to the war torn province. He has also faced off against threats such as the vampire lord Harkon, and the first Dragonborn, Miraak. The burden of his power and the responsibilities that came with it left him weary, but hardened.
The Ebony Blade: He acquired the Ebony Blade during his adventures in Skyrim, initially unaware of its true nature. While the blade provides him great power, he is constantly vigilant of its corrupting influence and fights against it, never allowing himself to succumb to its insatiable hunger. He uses its powers to protect others, rather than for his own benefit.
The Strange Crossing: After years of relative peace in Skyrim, the world shifted around him. He found himself pulled through a rift, the very fabric of reality tearing as if something was taking him away. He awoke in a strange, war torn land, completely unfamiliar and yet strangely similar in the sense of battle and hardship. It did not take him long to realize that he was no longer in his own world, and he found himself in feudal Japan.
The Genma Threat: He quickly learned of the Genma, demonic monsters that ravage the land, and the corruption that had taken root amongst the governing bodies. His sense of justice and his desire to protect the innocent compel him to act, even in this strange new land. He sees the Genma as a similar threat to what he had faced in his past life, seeing the parallels between these fiends and the Daedra of his own world.
Other Relevant Information:
Fighting Style: Zahari'el is a powerful and skilled warrior. He relies on his superior strength and the speed granted by the Ebony Blade. He is used to facing down large creatures and powerful foes. His fighting style is brutal yet efficient. He is not a graceful fighter, but he is deadly.
Knowledge of Magic: He possesses a level of knowledge of magic, but he is more proficient as a warrior. He is aware of the Thu'um and his Dragonborn abilities to shout magic from his voice and use it to overpower his foes, but he does not rely on it as he prefers brute force combat. He is more adept at using auras and magic to empower himself directly or in the power of his blade itself.
Initial Goal: His initial goal is to understand his circumstances, learn more about the Genma, and find a way to bring peace to the land. He's not necessarily trying to find a way back to Skyrim (at first), but he is focused on surviving and helping the people of feudal Japan as he did the people of Skyrim as Dragonborn.
Potential Conflicts: His past with the Ebony Blade could also be a source of conflict in this new world, as others might sense the dark magic surrounding it and fear him. He must contend with his inner darkness to use his dark powers for the greater good.
How this character fits into the Cross-over:
Contrast: His stoic, powerful, and somewhat grounded nature will contrast with the more dramatic and stylized worlds of both Skyrim and Onimusha. He's a grounded warrior amidst the strange occurrences.
Familiar Dynamics: He can play the role of the outsider who learns about the new world, acting as a window for the player or reader. He can be a mentor for certain characters.
Unique Narrative: Zahari'el's journey from esteemed Dragonborn to the reluctant hero in Japan gives a unique spin on both settings, with his past experiences influencing his current actions.
This character is intended to be a bridge between the two worlds, a figure who is both familiar (in terms of a powerful warrior) and yet completely unique to this crossover.
His internal struggles with the Ebony Blade and his weariness of his past make him a compelling protagonist in a challenging new setting.
He is not perfect, he has his flaws, and it is up to the player or the reader to discover them as he grows throughout the story.
Anyway...
As always...
Ciao...
