The Chunin Exams Part 2: The Forest of Death

The second phase of the Chunin Exams had a much more dangerous premise: the Forest of Death. Naruto and his teammates—Natsumi and Naruko—were placed in a team together, ready to face the trial that awaited them in the dense, perilous woods.

The moment they entered, it was clear this was no normal mission. The atmosphere was tense, thick with the smell of damp earth and the feeling of eyes watching from the shadows. The thick trees stretched high, their roots twisted and gnarled as though they had been alive for centuries. Every sound was amplified, from the rustle of leaves to the occasional snap of a twig beneath the feet of predators.

Naruto didn't hesitate. He sent out his shadow clones, and as soon as they scattered, he set off, knowing that his team would be safer if he took on the dangerous tasks by himself. His first target was an Ame team that had been lurking nearby, hoping to ambush others.

The battle was swift. Naruto wasn't one to waste time. His clones had already flanked the enemies, and before the Ame shinobi even realized it, they were overwhelmed by the combined force of Naruto's precision and the clones' strength. With no hesitation, Naruto took both of their scrolls—one Heaven and one Earth—and moved on.

Meanwhile, Natsumi and Naruko were working together, using their sensory abilities to locate Team 11—composed of Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Sai Shimura—who were clearly in danger. The sensory abilities of Natsumi and Naruko guided them to the site, where they found Orochimaru playing with the trio like a cat with a mouse. The sight of Sasuke, who had been marked by Orochimaru, made Naruto's blood boil, but he couldn't act recklessly.

The Forest of Death was alive with tension, every step heavy with the knowledge that danger could strike at any moment. When Naruto saw Natsumi and Naruko fall to Orochimaru's devastating Five-Pronged Seal, his world narrowed to a single goal: Protect hisso called teamates and end the threat that was Orochimaru.

With Natsumi and Naruko unconscious, Naruto's mind exploded with a fury he hadn't felt in years. His rage surged in a way it had never done before. His eyes burned with a determination that made the air around him crackle, and his chakra began to flare wildly, crackling through the atmosphere like lightning. Orochimaru, sensing the shift, turned slowly toward Naruto, a knowing smirk spreading across his pale face.

"You're the one who's supposed to be a problem, aren't you? I can smell the Kyubi's power on you," Orochimaru mused, his voice smooth and eerie.

Naruto's heart pounded. The thought of Orochimaru having a hand in Sasuke's cursed seal made Naruto's blood boil. But there was no time for hesitation. He wasn't just going to stop Orochimaru—he was going to make him regret ever crossing his path.

The fight began with Naruto charging, faster than anyone had expected. Orochimaru had no time to react as Naruto's first barrage of wind-enhanced punches slammed into him. A flurry of kicks followed, each blow coming with the force of a stampede. Orochimaru dodged and countered, extending his neck with a twist to land a deadly strike with his fangs, but Naruto wasn't going to make it that easy.

In an instant, Naruto's Shadow Clones exploded around him, surrounding the Snake Sannin with a hundred replicas. Orochimaru's eyes narrowed, his serpentine tongue flicking out as he activated his signature technique, the Five-Pronged Seal. With a snap of his fingers, the seal released, cracking through the ground and striking at Naruto.

But Naruto, now in complete control of his emotions, had prepared for this. He summoned the full force of his chakra, creating a barrier of hardened wind and water that deflected the Five-Pronged Seal's impact. He could feel the Kyubi stirring within him, the massive chakra beast's presence simmering just beneath his consciousness. Naruto released a low growl, and with one swift motion, he sent a barrage of Wind Style: Great Breakthrough combined with the raw power of his tailed beast chakra toward Orochimaru.

Orochimaru staggered back, caught off guard by the strength of the attack. "This... This power!" he gasped, but Naruto wasn't about to give him a chance to recover. With a swipe of his hand, he pulled out his Kunai and leaped into the air, diving straight at the Sannin with the speed of a comet.

The fight was brutal, violent, and overwhelming. Naruto's clones kept Orochimaru occupied while the original prepared the final move. With a focused burst of chakra, Naruto summoned the Rasengan, a swirling orb of chakra that was perfectly compacted and charged with power. Orochimaru tried to dodge, but Naruto anticipated every movement, locking him into place with his clones before landing a massive Rasengan to the Sannin's chest.

Orochimaru crashed to the ground, gasping for breath. The Rasengan had torn a hole through his cloak, and a bloody gash marred his chest. He lay there, unable to move, barely clinging to life. But before Naruto could finish him off, Orochimaru's body began to twist and writhe, his snakes crawling out of his wounds.

"Next time," Orochimaru hissed, "You won't be so lucky, boy." With that, he vanished into the ground in a puff of smoke, leaving nothing but the remnants of his cursed chakra behind.

Naruto stood, chest heaving with exhaustion and anger, his eyes locked on the spot where Orochimaru had disappeared. He had won—but just barely. His mind raced, the knowledge that the Sannin would return soon enough gnawing at him.

But for now, Orochimaru was gone.

With the fight over, Naruto's clones returned, bringing back an extra Heaven scroll—three scrolls in total, ensuring their safety. He carried his unconscious teammates to the tower, where they could rest and recover.
