Hell's Trickster: Part 8
After telling his team to meet in two days Kakashi puffed towards the Hokage tower, with the way he had set up his test he would have little time before the reunion for the announcements of whether the genin teams passed or not. Usually, he would not care to arrive rather late as he had been infamous for not passing the genin teams entrusted to him since becoming jonin-sensei after retiring from ANBU, however, things were different this time, not only had the team passed with flying colors but he had to question how could two of his genin be so different from the files he had been given.
The answer to that question he knew would be found with a meeting with the Hokage as it had been him who had told him not to underestimate this batch clearly knowing they were more capable than the files showed.
Kakashi finally arrived at the reunion hall where the meeting would take place surprising all the jonin present for his unexpected punctuality.
A couple of minutes latter the Hokage, the two elders (Danzo is not an elder or in the council but has influence.), the jonin commander Nara Shikaku and, despite no one seemingly noticing, Ryu entered the hall and took their place on the podium to begin the meeting. Kakashi, for his part saw the aged leader signing to him not to reveal much here to which the jonin nodded.
"Well, seeing that we are all here we can begin, leader of team one please." Hiruzen said after accommodating himself on his seat.
With that, the jonin of each team began to announce the results of their tests and a brief summary of the performance from the genin until Kakashi's turn though most expected the usual of him failing his students though considering that he had one of the last Uchiha rumored to be a genius in the academy a couple waited with expectation.
"Team seven passed…" Kakashi began surprising everyone present not having expected that except for Hiruzen and the hidden Ryu who had watched the task through the crystal ball.
"… All three showed decent teamwork and the mentality to let go of possible immediate benefits in order to accomplish the task, from the start of the match I was distracted by shadow clones from Uzumaki Naruto using throwing weapons while the three converged and came up with a plan, once prepared, the clones forced me to where Uchiha Tsuki was hidden who unleashed the Uchiha trademark technique of the great fireball. After a quick substitution I found myself once again assaulted by Naruto's clones to which Tsuki added herself as a couple clones henged into her as the two used the substitution with the clones repeatedly to keep me on my toes so as to not realize of the genjutsu their third teammate casted on me so as to not realize a shuriken Tsuki threw cut the bells before it was too late." Lied Kakashi with a version of events plausible with the files he had been given but with the same results.
At his explanation the other jonin were surprised by the well crafted strategy while some others cursed for not having had the luck to get such promising students. Hiruzen showed a slight smile at the altered version of events as Yuhi Kurenai snapped out of her stupor and took a step forward.
"Team eight passed, they showed a decent amount of teamwork in their task of searching for me and eventually succeeding the task in a decent time for a fresh team, all three showed remarkable skill in wielding their clan's particular traits to aid in the tracking of my position, however due to particular personality traits of the genin they found themselves triggering some easily avoidable traps or missing an opportunity due to hesitation or overthinking." Said the newly promoted jonin satisfied with her first team's performance.
The Hokage once again nodded, he knew that at least one of the problems with that team would be resolved in the near future thanks to his prodigious surrogate grandson, that one being Hyuga Hinata's reticence due to being uncomfortable with her family's style. The solution was, amusingly, one of the results of the incident of some years back that ended with Naruto taking possession of a good amount of clan secrets from the different clans in the village.
Hyuga Hiashi had not been happy with the incident but accepted the consequences as punishment of neglecting to ensure that the member of his clan disposed properly of the scrolls, needless to say, as it had been the same person that created those scrolls, after finding out of the fiasco, the elders and himself had not debated much in putting the seal on him after the second major offense to the clan.
The only request the Hyuga patriarch had was to see the final product as Ryu had guaranteed that the techniques would only be used as foundation and not learned as is. A couple of years later, once the techniques were perfected to a decent degree, Naruto had done a demonstration of two techniques with bases on the Hakke Kūshō and Hakkeshō Kaiten as well as a basis for a taijutsu style base on the advanced pointers for the gentle fist.
A/N: For those that question, all canon techniques have the canon names copied from Narutopedia, so while the non canon ones may have bizarre names for those who know japanese any fault in the canon ones is not mine as I do not know the language and will be using google to translate the names of the non-canon ones.
Hiashi had been satisfied with the two ninjutsu as, while they were similar to the original techniques he recognized that anyone talented enough would be able to develop something similar if they saw the original techniques, however, the taijutsu actually surprised him, being a taijutsu specialist as were most Hyuga he could guess the quality of a style, and while very rough that style had lots of destructive potential and would only be further enhanced if one wielded the Byakugan as the style aimed to inject compressed chakra pulses into the opponent heavily damaging their internal organs and muscles. After a chat about it and Hiashi convincing the elders they concluded that Hiashi himself would help Naruto complete the style with his complete knowledge of the Jūken and, in exchange, the Hyuga clan would have a copy of the style and Naruto promised only to teach it to family.
What Hiashi had not thought about is that as the style was created for Naruto who had a flexible, fast and agile body as were characteristic of his three main affinities the style would be uncomfortable to the rigidness that followed the usual earth affinity of the clan members. The Hyuga elders and Hiashi had not been all to happy when they realized this fault but after some time were able to make an earth oriented variant of the style, being the last year of academy, when Hiashi commented the problem in their last session Naruto had casually theorized that maybe something similar was happening with Hinata as he had seen her in the spars not all that comfortable, the Hyuga patriarch had been surprised and promptly later in their regular training sesions with his daughters had made them test for their chakra affinities with the chakra paper, confirming his suspicions when Hanabi demonstrated a specially strong earth affinity while Hinata had an even stronger water affinity.
Since that day Hiashi, with the concent of the elders that finally understood the root of their heiress lack of improvement, had been secretly developing a water focused gentle fist while cursing himself for not having realized it sooner. He also decided to silently support her daughter's obvious crush for the redhead, even if he did not like the fact that when the boy's heritage was fully revealed he would take more than one wife.
Hiruzen had been informed periodically of these developments and Hiashi had recently commented in a private reunion that he would begin to teach his daughter the new variant after the genin test so that the jonin sensei would be informed so that she would not schedule too regular team meetings.
Having already seen the team passing the day before Hiruzen had met with Kurenai in the morning to inform her of the developments, needless to say the jonin had been surprised to find out of her little sister figure's actual problem and that the girl's father, who she did not like due to his strictness with her socially anxious daughter, had been secretly working to solve it.
As he casually thought that he finished hearing his son, Sarutobi Asuma finish explaining his team's passing which did not surprise many as the three genin of the team were from three clans that were famous for working well together.
After the meeting ended Hiruzen returned to his office where Kakashi did not make himself wait for once.
"Hokage-sama I know you warned me against underestimating my team but I did not expect it to be to such an extent, of the three the only one for which the academy's file had any use is Yakumo and still she showed more skill than expected, as for the other two, if I did not know better I would think they were the wrong people's files, with those skills both of them should be chunnin already not fresh genin." Kakashi said a little exasperated from his humiliation in front of the genin.
"Well Kakashi, this all ironically happened right after your discharge from ANBU, Ryu decided to put Shisui in the guard rotation for Naruto and the two ended up connecting. It was no real secret that Naruto had the custom of infiltrating the library at night to study in the shinobi section and when he decided to begin training with chakra Shisui apparently got permission from Ryu to supervise the training which rapidly developed in him training the boy directly. As time passed Ryu made it into an anti-stress mission for other operatives that joined in training the boy, at some point Uchiha Tsuki began to join in due to the blooming friendship with Naruto until the massacre when the two isolated themselves so as to deal with the loss. They ended up reconciling about a year later and they intensified the training until now…"
"… from what Ryu told me after me realizing that the training had gone way further than I expected, Naruto is proficient in most shinobi branches while specializing in infiltration and sabotage, heavy combat and information gathering, he has trained affinities for wind, water and lightning though the repertoire leaves a little to be desired in ninjutsu variety, Endou told me he would begin teaching him the chakra enhanced strenght technique similar to Tsunade's and told me we would have to wait for Jiraya to further Naruto's control of the fox's chakra past his current limit of three tails as the seal does not let that much chakra pass."
A/N: I do not know if it is canon but here the technique was created by Hashirama and perfected by Tsunade like the Hiraishin that was created by Tobirama but perfected by Minato.
"For Tsuki, she has similar knowledge in all disciplines but with a focus on heavy combat, although kept a secret she has recently awakened the sharingan and has been training with her mother in its development and different characteristics, she has affinities for lightning, fire and a developing one for earth, as with Naruto, she lacks variety in her repertoire. What limits her are the chakra reserves though Endou mentioned that the two children are conducting an exercise with kyubi's chakra under his supervision to expand her reserves."
"That being said, I would recommend focusing on helping Yakumo get up to speed with the knowledge and chakra control and train the girls' endurance before expanding the two's ninjutsu repertoire, though it is limited, I will have your first C-rank mission to go to Uzushiogakure so that Naruto can bypass the seals and get all his clan's secrets, Tsuki's has the Uchiha library and the sharingan training so she is in no dire need and Yakumo specializes in genjutsu so she is also in no dire need on ninjutsu. If you want the details of the two's training you can go ask Ryu anytime though their official files will be kept as regular genin, I don't need spies or the council getting funny ideas, their actual files will be coded the same as ANBU operatives with the alias included. When they are ready I will have you take them to higher ranked missions in ANBU disguise as an experiment. If things go well, this will be implemented as a way to keep genius out of the radar until strong enough." Finished the aged Hokage with a serious look to his subordinate who did not expect such developments.
"Hai, Hokage-sama." Said Kakashi before leaving, after all from his leader's words he would have to take his team's training seriously and needed time to prepare.

How did you find it?
I went a little overboard with the Hyuga's stuff taking longer than expected but I am still satisfied.
This chapter was mainly to give a heads up on Naruto's and Tsuki's strengths, somehow in the middle there was that pseudo-flashback about the Hyuga that was originally unintended but I am not changing it.
Hinata will not really get screen time until the chunnin exams as I intend to keep the teams unaware of each other's power like in the anime.
The past chapter name list can be discarded as I will likely have more chapters before wave. The Uzu mission I am still not sure so as to make it a little arc, a chapter, or just make a summary. I would appreciate some opinions in the reviews that do not include self promoting artists offering themselves for commissions, to answer them all, while I appreciate the idea I do not have the money to spare on any of that, if someone decides to make it and send it to me, I would likely put it as the story's cover and make a shout out in the story summary or in a chapter as some free publicity but nothing else.
