"Yo, what's good? I'm Hopeless Author—your guide to crossover chaos, where the rules of logic take a back seat and fanfiction dreams come true."

Have you ever wondered what would happen if a Yōkai Exorcist, a Hero of Justice, and a hyperactive ninja found themselves in the same universe? Of course, you have, because that's exactly what we all think about at 3 AM while brainstorming which anime genres we can smash together next. Well, welcome, fellow otaku, to the second chapter of this beautiful madness known as The Yōkai and the Sword.

Let's go! The chaos begins here:

Who needs fight scenes when the dialogue is already sparking like fireworks? But don't worry—Hopeless Author doesn't let the chapter simmer on emotional tension alone.

(Yes, you read that right. Hopeless Author went all in.)

"DATTEBAYO! Why didn't anyone tell me there were ghosts AND magic swords?! This is as amazing as Konoha's ramen festival!"

Naruto's electric personality perfectly balances out the more serious duo.

Meanwhile, Shirou watches the scene with a mix of confusion and resignation, thinking: "This must be some kind of karmic punishment."

This fanfiction is a product of my overactive imagination, primarily inspired by Dandadan and Fate/stay night, all set in the world of RWBY. But, of course, because I can't help myself, I added two more worlds. Can you guess what they are? I dare you to try!

All rights to the characters, concepts, and original universes belong to their respective creators and owners. I'm just here to mix these worlds together like a multiversal DJ—with lots of love and zero intentions of claiming anything that isn't mine.

So sit back, enjoy the chaos, and get ready for a crossover that defies logic and embraces madness. See you in the multiverse!

Shirou crossed his arms, watching the young man in front of him with a mix of disbelief and patience. Ken Takakura, his companion and often the source of his headaches, couldn't have looked guiltier even if he tried.

"Let me get this straight…" Shirou began, massaging his temple as if trying to erase the chaos he had just heard. "You're here at the police station because, just as you went to buy that cursed weapons manual… you got caught up in an armed robbery at Till Dawn?"

Ken raised both hands defensively, flashing a nervous smile. "It's not as bad as it sounds! Besides… technically, I wasn't the only one."

"What do you mean?" Shirou asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well…" Ken averted his gaze, as if searching for the right words. "A girl named Ruby Rose was there too. And, uh… I think she was just as excited about her magazine as I was about my manual…"

Shirou blinked, clearly surprised. "Ruby Rose? Are you telling me that the same Ruby Rose, niece of Qrow Branwen, was involved in this?"

Ken nodded with an expression that practically screamed "it can't get any worse". "I'm not sure about her uncle, but yeah, it's that Ruby. I have to say, she's… peculiar. Talks about weapons like they're her children, and, believe me, I've never seen anyone so enthusiastic about a sniper rifle that doubles as a scythe. She's… intense."

Shirou let out a long sigh, running a hand through his hair. "Of course. She has to be a Rose. Qrow's probably laughing his head off right now, wherever he is."

Fixing Ken with a sharp gaze, Shirou frowned. "Please tell me Qrow wasn't around."

"No, he wasn't… but now that you mention it, is it so bad that he's her uncle? Ruby didn't bring him up, but he sounds like an important guy."

Leaning his elbow on the table, Shirou sighed. "For some strange reason, there's just so much to object to about him… but the main thing is that he is her uncle. Let's just say he's the kind of person who always finds a way to get involved in the most ridiculous situations I've ever heard of… though he'll never admit it. That man is the biggest headache for my leader in the Special Operations Unit. And no, don't ask for details—they're not pleasant stories."

Ken laughed awkwardly, clearly trying to change the subject. "You know what? Meeting her was kind of interesting. That girl has this strange spark in her eyes. A passion for doing the right thing in everything she does… she reminded me of someone I know very well."

"Who?" Shirou asked, though he had a feeling he already knew.

"You." Ken replied with a genuine smile. "I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say it's more than just a hunch, Shirou. She has that same determination to protect people that you had when I first met you." He paused and lowered his gaze. "I'm sure Ayase-san would've loved to meet her too, especially because…"

Ken's words trailed off abruptly, silenced by an unspoken weight. There was something in the air—a palpable sense of regret and repressed nostalgia.

Noticing the shift, Shirou decided not to push. Talking about Momo, Turbo-Grandma, or any of their old friends was always a delicate subject, something they both avoided whenever possible. He had learned the hard way that insisting during these moments never led anywhere.

"Tell me something," Shirou said calmly, trying to lighten the mood. "How exactly did she get involved in a robbery? She doesn't seem like the type to get into trouble… at least, not intentionally."

Ken scratched the back of his neck, nervous. "Well, let's just say it was a… 'collateral incident.' The robbers didn't expect to find two weapons enthusiasts in the store. She and I… well, let's just say we didn't stay idle."

Shirou shot him a piercing glare. "Please tell me you didn't go overboard with your transformation… again, Okarun."

"It was Ruby who did it first!" Ken raised his hands defensively. "She literally launched herself into a whirlwind of rose petals. I just followed her to make sure she didn't get hurt. Although, to be honest, I think the robbers ended up being the ones in trouble."

"Of course they did…" Shirou closed his eyes, clearly questioning every life choice that had led to this moment. "And what happened next?"

"Professor Goodwitch showed up," Ken replied quickly, as if mentioning Glynda's name was explanation enough. "She saved us from a long talk with the police… although, technically, we're not completely off the hook."

Shirou let out a dry laugh. "Let me guess. Glynda's already writing up her report, and somewhere in that document, there's a line that says: 'I blame Ensign Emiya for being a bad influence.'"

Ken blinked, surprised. "How did you know?"

"Because that woman has an uncanny ability to blame me for other people's problems." Shirou dropped into a nearby chair, exhaustion evident in his posture. "And what happened to the cookies? I'm pretty sure there was a full tray before you started talking."

Ken looked down at the floor, clearly embarrassed.

"Uh… Ruby ate them all."

Swallowing nervously, he asked, "Do you think I'm in trouble for this?"

Shirou let out a laugh, though it was dry and sharp.

"Please, Okarun, you're always in trouble. The real question is, how big will it be this time?"

"I apologize for the interruption." A firm, serene voice cut through their conversation, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of a staff tapping against the floor.

Both turned their heads in unison toward the door. Standing there was none other than Director Ozpin. His calm demeanor, paired with an enigmatic smile and the glint of his glasses under the light, was as intriguing as it was unsettling.

"I'm curious to hear more about this… 'incident' from another perspective. Although, I must admit—" his gaze settled on Shirou with particular interest, "I didn't expect to see you so involved in this matter, Second Lieutenant Emiya."

Shirou frowned and immediately stood, executing a sharp salute.

"With all due respect, sir, this matter isn't related to my current responsibilities."

Ken, as always, tried to diffuse the tension with a muttered quip just loud enough for Shirou to hear:

"Nothing suspicious here, right? Totally normal..."

Ozpin chuckled softly, the sound easing the atmosphere ever so slightly.

"Oh, Lieutenant, don't worry. I'm merely a naturally curious man. Besides, General Ironwood mentioned something interesting about you." He paused, savoring the suspense before continuing. "He suggested I consider offering you a special teaching position for our students at Beacon. The offer still stands, of course."

Shirou exhaled, shaking his head slightly.

"I appreciate the offer, Director, but my current duties in Atlas keep me more than occupied."

Ozpin nodded in understanding, though his smile suggested he wasn't giving up on the idea. His eyes then shifted to Ken, who immediately stiffened under the man's attention.

"Now, young Takakura, I've heard some interesting things about you. Your performance at Kuchinashi's Combat School is undoubtedly promising. But I'm curious—what inspired you to pursue becoming a Huntsman?"

Ken swallowed hard, feeling as though the weight of the entire room was pressing down on him. Sensing his friend's nerves, Shirou gave him a gentle nudge on the shoulder.

"Just speak from the heart, buddy. You don't need to impress anyone here."

Taking a deep breath, Ken stepped forward, though his posture still reflected some nervousness.

"To be honest, I haven't decided which academy to apply to yet. I still have two years before I graduate from Kuchinashi. But if I had to pick a reason… I'd say I want to follow in my best friend's footsteps."

Shirou blinked, visibly taken aback, as Ken continued with more confidence.

"Shirou Emiya is my best friend, and honestly, he's always been like a mentor to me. He might seem serious or stiff now, but… believe me when I say he has an incredibly noble heart. His dedication to protecting others has always inspired me, and I… I want to do the same, in my own way."

For a moment, silence hung in the air. Finally, Ozpin spoke, his smile reflecting genuine approval.

"Indeed, Lieutenant Emiya is someone exceptional. In fact, I would have loved to see him here at Beacon… but James Ironwood rarely lets go of a valuable asset."

Shirou raised an eyebrow, clearly annoyed.

"With all due respect, sir, I'd prefer not to be referred to as an 'asset.'"

Ozpin chuckled lightly, raising a hand in apology.

"You're right, Lieutenant. My choice of words wasn't the best. What I meant was that James did an excellent job shaping you into who you are now." His glasses glinted as he shifted his focus back to Ken. "However, young Takakura, let me say this: I don't just see passion in you—I see great potential. Beacon's doors will be open should you choose to walk this path."

Ken hesitated.

"Sir, I…"

Ozpin raised a hand to gently interrupt him, tilting his head slightly.

"We all have our circumstances, young Takakura. But let me tell you something: I'm a patient man. With the right guidance, I believe you could achieve extraordinary things. So, I ask: would you allow me to be part of that journey?"

Before Ken could respond, the echo of heels resonated through the room as Professor Goodwitch entered with her usual elegant demeanor.

"Director Ozpin, it's always interesting to see you recruiting promising talent, but your persistence might intimidate the boy." Her tone was firm, though a faint smile graced her lips.

Ken blinked, slightly taken aback by the unexpected support.

"Does that mean I should accept?"

Goodwitch adjusted her glasses, regarding him seriously.

"It means you should listen to your heart. But don't misunderstand—opportunities like this don't come every day."

Shirou, noticing the uncertainty on his friend's face, patted him on the shoulder.

"Whatever you decide, Okarun, you've got my support."

Ken took a deep breath, his eyes meeting Ozpin's as the image of Momo Ayase smiling flashed in his mind, giving him strength. Finally, with determination, he answered:

"I'm not entirely ready for such a big decision, but… I think accepting this challenge is what the most important person in my life would do in my place. Besides… Shirou told me his time in Atlas was tough, but worth it. I think I'm ready to take that leap too."

A genuine smile spread across Ozpin's face as he nodded in approval.

"Excellent. I assure you, you've made the right choice, young Takakura."

Goodwitch added with a touch of sternness:

"That includes punctuality and impeccable performance. I'll expect nothing less in my classes."

Ken swallowed hard but finally smiled with confidence.

"I'll do my best."

Shirou crossed his arms, watching with a mix of pride and resignation.

"Well… Okarun, I think this is the best decision for you. Though I'm sure Momo's probably laughing about how we're handling our lives here in Remnant. But she doesn't need to worry about you—I made a promise, and I intend to keep it."

Amid a heated protest for Faunus rights, the atmosphere was absolute chaos. White Fang agents moved through the crowd, using aggressive tactics to disperse and intimidate the demonstrators.

In a quieter corner, away from the commotion, two masked figures observed silently.

"Is this really what they wanted?" one of them muttered, his jaw clenched. His blue eyes shone intensely beneath the mask. "I can't believe it! All this uproar! They claimed to fight for justice, but now they're just spreading fear. It makes no sense!"

The figure beside him lowered their gaze, gripping the hilt of their sword with a trembling hand.

"Naruto… do you think the organization has lost the purpose it was founded for?" they asked cautiously, as if dreading the answer.

"Of course it has, Tanjiro." Naruto's tone was firm, filled with indignation but also tinged with hope. "But that doesn't mean everyone here is lost. There are still people fighting for something real, something that matters." As he spoke, his fox ears twitched under the hood, a reflection of his anger. "You and I still believe in them… in the Faunus."

"You're right. We can't give up! There are still those who believe Faunus deserve equality…" Tanjiro's eyes shone with determination before softening slightly. "But we need to be careful. I don't want us to take a path we can't come back from."

Naruto turned to him, crossing his arms as a bitter smile tugged at his lips.

"You know, you always say, 'All I can do is work hard! That's the story of my life!' Come on, how many times have we been in situations like this? Sometimes, you remind me a little of Sakura. But…" His gaze hardened, and his tone grew urgent. "Sorry, maybe that was out of line. I admit we shouldn't rush in without a plan, but… we don't have time to just stand here while everything falls apart, Tanjiro."

"It's not like we're doing nothing," the Slayer replied, keeping a calm demeanor. "But just this once… this time, I think we need to act with a clear head. Naruto, do you really think infiltrating Beacon is the only option?"

Naruto let out a dry laugh, forming a small Rasengan in his right hand.

"In this world…" he began, watching the sphere of energy spin as he lifted it to eye level. "This place called Remnant, everyone believes being a Hunter is everything. No! They refuse to think beyond that, as if it's the solution to all problems. But if we don't act now, who will?"

Tanjiro watched him silently for a few seconds, his eyes filled with concern. Finally, he pressed his lips together and responded:

"I understand what you're saying. But I… I still believe White Fang can change. I know there are people within who still hold onto the organization's original purpose. I can't just turn my back on them without trying."

Naruto stared at him.

"You're always like this, aren't you?" he said, his expression softening with a mix of frustration and admiration as he crossed his arms. "Clinging to the words of that guy… what was his name?"

Tanjiro raised his head, a faint, melancholic smile gracing his face.

"Rengoku," he said firmly, his voice warm. "He told me to always keep my heart burning, no matter how dark the situation. To keep moving forward, no matter what happens… never giving up, even after falling. No matter where I am, I'll never forget those words."

Naruto clicked his tongue, crossing his arms as he frowned.

"Hmph. You know? It kind of ticks me off how stubborn you are sometimes… but maybe that's why we ended up as friends."

Tanjiro tilted his head slightly.

"For someone who only eats ramen, you have your moments… as a ninja," he said lightly, a kind smile curving his lips. "Even if we're taking different paths for now, I know you'll do what's right."

The blond turned his gaze to the chaos in the distance.

"So, I guess this is goodbye, isn't it?"

"Yeah… I guess it is." Tanjiro swallowed, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly before raising his eyes. "Although… Blake always wanted someone to follow her lead in this fight, didn't she? In the end, it looks like her wish is coming true."

Naruto stayed silent for a moment before letting out a soft laugh.

"Don't make me talk about that. It's a topic I'd rather avoid," he said, keeping his tone casual, though his jaw tightened slightly. "Especially since you'll have to deal with that egotist Adam."

Tanjiro sighed.

"I know it won't be easy. But as long as there are people like Blake, who believe in something better, it's worth trying."

Naruto looked up at the sky, as if searching for something that wasn't there.

"Maybe… Just remember, Slayer, 'Once you start questioning your own beliefs, you're finished.'"

Tanjiro took a step back, watching him, wanting to etch this moment into his memory. Then, just before turning away, he spoke once more:

"Naruto… I know you'll find your own path in Remnant. After all, you're Naruto Uzumaki, the Hero of Konoha."

Naruto glanced at him from the corner of his eye, a carefree smile spreading across his face.

"And you, Tanjiro Kamado, the only Demon Slayer I've ever met." He paused, as if searching for the right words, before adding, "But if anyone can change something, it's you… the Child of Brightness."

Tanjiro nodded silently, turning to leave as the echo of Naruto's steps faded into the distance.

Naruto stopped briefly before disappearing into the shadows, casting one last glance at the horizon.

"We'll meet again… my friend."

Tanjiro, already walking away, couldn't help but smile as he whispered to himself:

"Yes, I'm sure we will."

Now then, let's talk about the true villain behind all of this:

Hopeless Author ️.

This chapter is packed with their signature madness, more anime references than I can probably keep track of, and dialogues that feel like they've been ripped straight out of a heated fan debate at an anime convention.

For instance, there's a brilliant scene where Naruto, Okarun, and Shirou argue over which anime opening is the best while attempting to infiltrate an enemy base. Naruto votes for Blue Bird from Naruto Shippuden, Okarun throws in something from Tokyo Revengers, and Shirou (naturally) brings up Fate/Zero. The debate comes to an abrupt end when they're attacked by a giant yōkai, but the emotional impact lingers.

What to expect next

The Yōkai and the Sword is just getting started. With unlikely alliances, increasingly dangerous enemies, and a multiverse in peril, Hopeless Author has promised us plenty:

More epic moments where characters from different worlds clash in philosophical duels and explosive energy battles. Comedic scenes that remind us why we love anime chaos (because, let's be honest, what's a crossover without a little absurd humor?). Emotional revelations that will make us cry as much as the latest One Piece arc.

So, dear reader, prepare yourself for another chaotic journey filled with emotions, laughter, and a sprinkle of cheap philosophy. In the author's own words:
"Why read my fanfic? Because sometimes, all you need is to see your favorite characters break canon rules and do something completely ridiculous—like saving the multiverse while arguing whether Nezuko could beat Saber in a duel."

Thank you for joining us on this madness. Now, do yourself a favor: grab your favorite ramen, get comfy, and keep reading. Because if anime has taught us anything, it's that there's always another adventure waiting after the next episode. Itadakimasu!
