With a deep breath, Kira stepped into the TARDIS, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the control room's sprawling complexity. The Doctor and Porsha followed, the latter giving the levers and switches a knowing nod. "Alright, let's get going," the Doctor announced, setting the coordinates and flipping a switch. The TARDIS whirred to life, the floor vibrating beneath their feet as they took off into the time stream. The lights flickered and swirled around them, painting the room with an otherworldly glow.

As the time machine landed, the Doctor stepped out onto the cobblestone streets of 1938 Berlin, his expression grim. Porsha and Kira followed, the latter taking in the unfamiliar sights and sounds with wide eyes. The air was tense, filled with an underlying sense of fear and unrest. "We need to be careful here," the Doctor whispered, scanning the area with a practiced eye. Then he saw a flag he was all too familiar with, the Nazi flag fluttering in the breeze.

DOCTOR WHO

THE EVIL OF MANKIND

"Why of all places did you bring us here" The Doctor said to the Tardis. "I don't understand Doctor why are you so angry?" Kira asked innocently. The Doctor took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. "This is the time of a great darkness," he said solemnly. "A man named Adolf Hitler is rising to power here."

Porsha, was concerned for Kira "Doctor if she sees the horrors of this timeline will she be, okay?" The Doctor nodded "she's strong she can handle it, but we need to be careful what we tell her and what she sees." He looked over to Kira who was taking in the scene with wide eyes. "And Porsha remember she was nearly turned into a cyberman so she might not react well to seeing any kind of oppression."

The Doctor took Kira's hand and led her down the alleyways, explaining the significance of their surroundings in hushed tones. As they turned a corner, they stumbled upon a group of people huddled together, whispering urgently. Kira recognized the urgency in their voices, a universal language of fear and desperation. The Doctor stepped back, pulling them into the shadows, his grip tightening on Kira's hand.

The leader of the group, a man with piercing eyes and a sharp jaw, emerged from the shadows. The Doctor's expression grew tense, and Porsha's ears flattened against her head as they recognized him - it was Adolf Hitler. Kira looked from the Doctor's face to the man, confusion clouding her features. "Doctor, who is this?" she whispered. "Someone we must be very careful around," he replied gravely.

As they watched from their hiding spot, the Doctor filled Kira in on the historical figure they had just encountered. Her eyes widened in horror as she realized the weight of the situation. "But we can't just let him be!" she exclaimed. "We have to stop him!" The Doctor's grip on her arm tightened. "It's not that simple, Kira. We can't change history," he said, his voice firm but gentle.

Porsha, ever the pragmatist, spoke up. "But we can help the people affected by his reign of terror," she suggested. The Doctor nodded solemnly. "Exactly. We'll do what we can, but we must be careful not to disrupt the timeline." With that, they set off into the city, blending in as best they could. The Doctor and Porsha's experience with human behavior made it easier, but Kira was like a child in a new world, her curiosity and outrage at the injustices she saw threatening to expose them at every turn.

As they moved through the streets, they heard the distant sound of a rally, the harsh, hate-filled rhetoric echoing through the air. Kira's cybernetic hearing picked it up before anyone else. "What's happening?" she asked, her eyes wide with confusion. The Doctor and Porsha shared a look of sadness before explaining the rise of the Third Reich and the atrocities it would bring. Kira's innocence was shattered as she learned about the horrors of the Holocaust, her cybernetic mind racing with the implications of such a dark chapter in human history. "But why would a member of its own species do this?" she wondered aloud, her voice filled with a mix of anger and disbelief.

The Doctor's expression grew serious as he led them through the cobblestone streets. "It's a question I've asked myself many times, Kira," he said, his voice heavy with the weight of his own past experiences. "Some humans have the capacity for great evil, but it's our job to help those who are fighting against it, to offer support and hope." Suddenly they heard a gun clock, from behind them they saw a squad of soldiers approaching, their boots echoing in the alleyway. "I will handle this," The Doctor said firmly, stepping forward.

Porsha pulled Kira back into the shadows, whispering urgently. "Remember what The Doctor said, we can't change history, but we can help those in need." Kira nodded, her heart racing as she watched The Doctor approach the soldiers with a calm confidence she didn't feel. He spoke in fluent German, his words carrying an authority that caused the soldiers to pause. One stepped forward, eyeing them suspiciously. "Your papers," he demanded, his hand on the holster of his gun. "I beg your pardon do you know who I am?!" The Doctor said in an anger filled voice as he displayed his psychic paper.

The soldier took a step back, visibly intimidated. "I-I apologize, Herr Commandant," he stuttered, his eyes flicking between the Doctor and his papers. The Doctor nodded curtly, tucking the paper away. "Good, now if you don't mind, I have a meeting with the Fuehrer to discuss his invasion plans for Poland," he said with a wink and a nod. The soldiers snapped to attention, allowing them to pass unmolested.

As they made their way through the tense city, Kira couldn't shake off the feeling of disbelief. "How can one person cause so much pain?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion. The Doctor's gaze was faraway, lost in the mists of his own memories. "It's a question that has haunted humanity for centuries, Kira. But we can't change the past. We can only learn from it and ensure that history doesn't repeat itself." Kira looked uncomfortable "Doctor I'm scared," she whispered. The Doctor nodded, understanding her fear "I know it's a lot to take in but stay close and don't wander off."

As they walked through the street, they were stopped by the Fuehrer himself The Doctor and Porsha froze while Kira was oblivious to the gravity of the situation. The Doctor stepped forward with a calm smile "Hello, sir it's nice to see you" The Doctor said not meaning it at all. "You know me?" Adolf asked in disbelief. "I know of you," the Doctor said carefully "You are a very important person in this timeline" "Well thank you my friend," he said with a smile. The Doctor cringed at Adolf calling him a friend. "But we should be going."

Kira looked up at the Doctor with a puzzled expression "What's with the Mustache?" Kira ask innocently. Porsha put a paw over Kira's mouth, "Kira, Shush," she whispered, her eyes wide with urgency. The Doctor's heart skipped a beat as he realized Adolf had heard her. "Ah yes the Mustache," he said, trying to keep his tone light. "It's so I can wear a gas mask and have people know I fought on the front line" The Doctor look nervous "Sir I am so sorry for my er Daughter she's a bit special," he said gesturing to Kira.

Adolf looked at Kira with a mix of curiosity and suspicion "What is she?" he asked. "She's from a faraway land," Porsha quickly interjected, playing along with the Doctor's cover story. "A land of peace and understanding, where creatures like her are revered for their unique abilities," she added, hoping to appease his curiosity without revealing too much. "Hmm what is wrong with her arm?" he questioned.

Kira looked down at her cybernetic limb self-consciously, but The Doctor stepped in smoothly. "It's not your concern sir" The Doctor said defiantly. "It's my concern she is my Daughter" The Doctor said protectively. Adolf's eyes narrowed, "Is she an experiment?" The Doctor was now angry "I haven't got time for this come on girls were going" He grabbed Porsha and Kira by the arm and started to pull them away.

As they hurried down the street, The Doctor's mind raced with the implications of what just happened. "Kira you can't just go around talking to people like that, especially not here and not now," he whispered urgently. "But why not?" she asked, her eyes wide with confusion. "Because we're in 1938 Berlin, and that man is about to start a war that will devastate the world," he replied, his voice low and serious. "A war that will kill over 38 million people."

Porsha's tail swished anxiously as she spoke up. "Kira, the Doctor is right. We need to be careful. This man," she nodded back at the retreating figure of Adolf, "has dangerous ideas and a lot of power." Kira's expression grew solemn as she took in their words. "I didn't know," she murmured, her voice filled with sadness she started crying "I'm sorry, I didn't know." The Doctor put his arms around Kira and hugged her tightly. "It's okay," he said, his voice soothing. "You couldn't have known. But now you do, and that's what's important." The Doctor was shocked that even in this universe where animals were humans a lot of human history was the same, but it was a stark reminder of the universal nature of evil.

The trio made their way through the crowded streets, dodging glances and whispers as they went. The Doctor's sharp eyes noticed a group of people huddled together in a back alley, speaking in hushed tones. As they approached, Kira's cybernetic hearing picked up the sound of running coming towards them. Before they could react, a group of soldiers rounded the corner, their boots hammering against the cobblestone. The Doctor stepped in front of the two females, a protective instinct as old as time itself taking over.

"Halt!" One of the soldiers barked, raising his rifle. "You will hand the girl over!" The Doctor's hearts pounded in his chest as he stepped protectively in front of Kira. "Why do you want her?" he asked, his voice calm but firm. The soldier sneered. "Orders from the top," he replied, gesturing towards the alley. "What does Hitler want with an innocent like her?"

Kira's eyes were wide with fear, her mind racing. "The Doctor?" she whispered, her voice shaking. "It's okay," he murmured reassuringly. "Remember, we can't change the past, we can only help those in the present." He turned to the soldiers, his tone firm. "We are just passing through, we don't want any trouble." But the solders did not care "There is no innocent only different!" they shouted and moved closer.

The Doctor knew they had to act fast. He pulled out his sonic screwdriver and pointed it at the soldiers, the device emitting a high-pitched whine. The soldiers stumbled back, momentarily disoriented. "Run!" he yelled to Porsha and Kira, and they took off down the alley, the Doctor right behind them. They darted through the narrow streets, the soldiers' footsteps echoing ominously in the distance. The Doctor's hearts were racing, not just from the exertion but from the sheer terror of having the one he loved being hunted in a time of such hatred and fear.

The suddenly reached a dead end, the walls closing in on them. "Doctor what now?" Porsha panted, her fur bristling with fear. The Doctor's eyes searched for an escape, his mind racing. Then "Stop right there you have nowhere to run!" the soldiers yelled as they reached the end of the alley. However, what happened next reminded The Doctor that just because a select few people are bad does not mean that all are bad. As Kira started sobbing out of fear the soldiers seemed hesitant to take her.

The Doctor noticed them just standing there, guns pointed at the trio but not doing anything, it was almost like they were waiting for something. "You're not going to shoot, are you?" he asked, trying to keep the tremor out of his voice. The leader of the group took a step forward, his eyes on Kira. "Shut up you Men Take her away!" he shouted. Kira was too scared to move, the Doctor and Porsha looked at her with horror. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Nein." one of the soldiers said, "We cannot do this." The leader was shocked "What are you talking about?" Then another soldier stepped forward "Sir this is not right she is just a child."

The leader looked at them, his expression torn. "But she is different," he said, his voice urgent trying to get his men under control "NO Sir I refuse to do this" Another soldier said. The leader turned to them with a mix of anger and desperation "What is going on here?" he demanded. "We cannot stand by while innocents are persecuted," one of the soldiers said, as he threw his rifle down. The Doctor looked at them in shock "You are not like the others," he said, his voice filled with hope.

"You will be executed for treason," the leader spat. "Fine I would rather die knowing I did the right thing than live knowing I didn't," the soldier who refused to take Kira said.

Then the rest of the soldiers followed suit throwing down their weapons. The leader was furious "You will all pay for this!" he screamed and took off running. The Doctor was stunned "I can't believe it," he said "You've changed history," Porsha said with a gasp. "No we haven't," the Doctor said with a smile "These men had the courage to stand up against evil" The first Soldier who had refused his orders spoke up "When I joined the Nazis I thought we were going to make the future better but I was wrong and on behalf of the German people I'm sorry for the pain we are causing."

The Doctor knew that next year in 1939 the war would start but maybe just maybe these small acts of courage would make a difference in the long run. "Now you need to run you three the General will not be happy," the soldier said.

The Doctor, Porsha and Kira took the soldiers advice and ran, their hearts pounding in their chests. The Doctor knew that their presence could still change things, and he didn't want to risk it. As they sprinted through the streets, dodging patrols and narrowly avoiding detection, The Doctor felt a mix of emotions. Anger at the injustices they had witnessed, fear for Kira's safety, and a glimmer of hope at the small act of rebellion they had just witnessed.

Once they were clear of danger, they ducked into a quiet alleyway, panting and leaning against the cold bricks. Kira looked up at The Doctor, her eyes wide with fear "I want to go home," she whispered, her voice trembling. The Doctor crouched down beside her, his eyes filled with compassion. "I know lets go home," he said, placing his hand on the TARDIS's exterior. Inside the Tardis Porsha was trying her best to sooth Kira who was still shaking from the encounter.

The Doctor was silent for a moment, his eyes distant as he pondered the gravity of their situation. "Kira," he began gently, "there's something important you need to understand about the Human race." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "They have the capacity for great good, but also for great evil." He looked down at her, his expression serious. "You met someone who was the embodiment of evil today. Someone who would bring pain and suffering to millions." Kira nodded slowly, her blue eyes reflecting the weight of the Doctor's words.

The TARDIS groaned and shuddered as they took off, the streets of Berlin fading into a swirl of time and space. The Doctor's hand remained firmly on Kira's shoulder as he navigated the controls, the ship's heartbeat-like rhythm a comforting reminder that they were leaving the past behind them. Porsha sat next to Kira, her arm wrapped around the young girl, whispering reassurances and explanations of the Doctor's cryptic statements. The journey was a blur of lights and sounds, a cacophony of moments from countless times and places.

When they finally landed, it was in the familiar console room, the gentle hum of the TARDIS grounding them once more. Kira looked around, still visibly shaken. "We're safe now," Porsha murmured, stroking her hair. The Doctor stepped away from the console and knelt before Kira, his gaze intense. "You've seen a dark chapter of history, Kira. But remember, it's moments like these that remind us why we fight for peace and justice. Why we stand against those who wish to cause harm."

Kira nodded, trying to hold back her tears. "I'm scared Doctor," she whispered. The Doctor took her cybernetic hand in his. "You don't need to be scared," he assured her. "We'll face everything together." He looked over at Porsha, who gave him a firm nod of agreement.

"Now let's get you home," The Doctor said with a gentle smile, standing up and leading Kira to the TARDIS doors. As they stepped outside, the bright lights of New Moon Theatre beckoned, a stark contrast to the shadowy alleys of 1938 Berlin. The cool night air washed over them, carrying with it the sweet scent of popcorn and the distant sound of laughter.

As they approached the theatre, Porsha couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and pride. "You did well, Kira," she said, her voice steady and comforting. "You're stronger than you think." Kira looked up at her, a hint of a smile forming. "Thanks, Porsha," she murmured, her grip tightening on the wolf's hand.
