Chapter 1:
Years ago, Mike was working at Playtime Co. But then...
"I'm sorry, Mike," says Elliot Ludwig, "I'm going to have to let you go."

Mike leaves the factory, but then he meets Sonia.

"You designed toys," asks Sonia.
"I used to," says Mike, "how'bout you, what do you do for a living?"
"Well, I investigate monster sightings," says Sonia.
"For real," asks Mike, "you know they don't exist right?"
...
After a while, the two got married, but then one day, Sonia died.

Now, in the present, Mike is alone and depressed and stop caring about anything. What does he do now? He's a conman who makes fake monster videos.

A young boy named Trevor has entered Playtime Co. He looks around and sees Huggy Wuggy. Trevor looks away, but when he looks back at it, there's a key in the hand. Trevor was confused, but then he grabs it.

Trevor was exploring more, but then he sees Huggy again. Trevor then runs and Huggy chases after him.

Trevor then runs into his mother, Amy. "You snuck into Playtime Co," asks Amy, "what were you thinking?"
"Mom... there's a monster in here," says Trevor.
"Trevor, it was probably just your imagination," says Amy. But then Huggy Wuggy shows up. "Yeah, it wasn't!"

Amy and Trevor then try to run.
"You can't leave," says a mysterious voice.
