Chapter 7:
Mike enters Playcare. He looks around. He never really saw the place himself. Mike sees the Playhouse and enters.

Mike walks through the Playhouse. He then finds corpses of dead toys, an elephant, a bear, a chicken, a unicorn, a pig, and a rabbit. Mike recognizes them as the Smiling Critters. Mike then sees DogDay, hanging in his cell. "Who's there," asks DogDay, "are you Poppy's Angel?"
"I don't really think of myself as such," says Mike, "DogDay, the leader of the Smiling Critters. What happened here?"
"We called it the Hour of Joy," says DogDay, "he forced us to kill all the humans! The Smiling Critters and I realized what we were doing was wrong, so we rebelled, but the others were killed and I was reduced to this!"
"Who is he," asks Mike, "the Prototype's follower?"
"He's coming," says DogDay.
Mike looks and sees a cat shaped figure walking towards him. Mike finds a door and runs through it...

Mike finds himself in Home Sweet Home. "Mike," says the figure. Mike looks at Kissy Missy, who points to a bed. Mike hides under it. The figure enters. "You can't hide forever, Mike! We all have to go sometime!" The figure then chokes Kissy Missy. "After all, life is a very short subject!" The figure then seemingly walks away. Mike looks, but he sees the figure's face. It was CatNap, the rejected Smiling Critter! "I can help you see your wife again!" CatNap unleashes his poppy gas breath...

Mike finds himself in a strange place. "Come on," says Bubba, "join in on the fun!"
"Mike, I'm waiting for you," says Sonia.
Mike almost walks towards him, but then stops, realizing none of it is real...
...
Mike snaps out of it and runs with CatNap chases after him.

With the others. "Guys, what looks like a lion made of yarn," asks Clark.
They all look and see Yarnaby, who's face splits open.
"They think that's for kids," asks Mary.
Yarnaby's about to attack them, but Mary uses her grabpack to slam the door shut on him.
"These things are helpful," says Father Wayne.
...
Mike's still running from CatNap. "You have a chance to reunite with her," says CatNap, "a chance to see the woman you have missed all these years!" Mike gets in the trolley, and it takes off. Mike figures he was safe, but CatNap jumps on it and Mike screams. "I can get you what you want! You just have to be..." CatNap falls off. "... willing!" Mike knew they were in big trouble.
