After all these years, Mike returns to Playtime Co and learns about the monsters that reside within it and with the help from an interesting group of friends, he has to find a way to put an end to it before someone gets sacrificed.

9. Chapter 8

Chapter 8:

Mike regroups with the others. "I know what we're dealing with," says Mike, "CatNap!"

"CatNap," asks Trevor, "who's that?"

Mike then plays a tape, and they see the Smiling Critters theme song.

"You mean our big bad is a character from a preschool show," asks Father Wayne.

"What's next," asks Clark, "Amanda the Adventurer's a murderer? Why not the characters of Mint's Hints?"

"The CatNap dolls were recalled because they gave kids nightmares," says Mike, "CatNap has this Poppy gas breath that's supposed to put you to sleep!"

"Nightmares," says Amy, "like what happened to Marie Payne!"

"He wants me," says Mike, "I had a wife... she died a long time ago! And every day, I still think about her. She made me get over losing my job here! We would always have chillie fries together. I never had a chance to tell her how much I love her!"

"She knows," says Father Wayne.

"Man," says Clark, "think of the cholesterol on her!"

Everyone looks at him, but then they all laughed. That made Mike feeling better.

"Over here," says Mary, "CatNap is Theodore Grambell! He was notorious amongst the staff thanks to his apparently imaginary friend, who frequently encouraged him to sabotage Playtime Co."

"That imaginary friend has to be the Prototype," says Clark, "look at that! He was told to open a maintenance door in Playcare using a stolen GrabPack 2.0 and a Green GrabPack Hand, potentially with the intention of allowing the orphans to escape."

"He then overdid it and electrocuted himself," says Father Wayne, "he was then turned into CatNap and he was programmed to help the orphans sleep and make sure none of them escaped from Playcare!"

"What we really need it to find a way to destroy the Prototype," says Mike, "take that thing down and CatNap's got nothing!"

"Harley Sawyer," says Mary, "he has to have the Prototype's blueprints!"

They then all heard something. They saw something was coming. "Is that the Smiling Critters," asks Trevor.

"No," says Mike, "CatNap killed them all! But we had another idea to appease to teenagers! The Nightmare Critters!"

Then the Nightmare Critters came. Baba Chops, Icky Licky, Rabie Babie, Allistor Gator, Simon Smoke, Poe, Toulie, and Maggie Mako!

"I feel like a guy that makes nightmares really should be with the Nightmare Critters," says Clark.

"Run," says Mike.

The group runs and the Nightmare Critters chase after them.
