Minatsuki felt as if she was falling, she felt the wind whistling in her ear. Her eye's snapped open and they widened as the sight before her. She was falling, literally. She clunge tighter to her son as she screamed her bijū's name.
"KURAMA!"
"I'm working on it gaki!" he snarled, Minatsuki's body flickered as the fox molded enough chakra to envelope her in his cloak, "Brace gaki, there's no preventing a hard landing..."
Minatsuki didn't even care about herself, she squeezed her son tighter to herself. She did groan in displeasure at the impending pain. There was nothing when suddenly her body started to convulse in midair.
'Kurama!' she shouted in her mind as her body was no longer responding to her. She looked at the fox and saw that he was GROWING!
"Your seal is stronger..." he howled in pain, "I thought I would just get Kushina's Yin half, but I'm getting both instead!"
'Will it kill her?'
"I'm trying to prevent that from happening! It will knock her out for a bit, but Uzumaki's are known for their vitality!" explained Kurama, "Now expend some chakra to soften the landing!" he swatted her with his tail.
Sakumo kicked away another opponent when everyone in the clearing froze at the chakra they felt.
"ABOVE!" someone shouted. Sakumo looked up to see a orange ball of what appeared to be chakra heading right for them.
"GET BACK!" Sakumo ordered his unit just like the Suna shinobi captain.
As it the ground, a massive crater formed that sent a shockwave of dust and remnants of chakra over the area. As the shinobi neared the massive crater from their respective sides, a couple claws of charka lashed out towards the Suna shinobi, knocking them out cold. The Konoha shinobi jumped back in alarm but the arms never came to them.
Sakumo noticed the Suna shinobi out and ordered a couple Konoha nin to tie them up as he mad his way towards the crater to investigate. His eyes widened at the sight of a blonde woman clinging tightly to a small child, as she was protecting him. The only thing that was covering her was her long blonde hair. Blue eyes opened and looked up at him tiredly before she closed them and was knocked out.
"Kami..." he whispered as he made his way down to them, pulling a blanket from a scroll. As he neared her another arm appeared and hovered dangerously between them. The Hatake raised his arms in surrender on impulse. It seemed to understand what he was doing before returning back to the woman.
He took some steps towards the woman a checked if there was a pulse for the two, a steady beat met his fingers. He looked over her carefully and found that she was healing her wounds, pretty quickly at that. He attempted to split the mother and child so he could put the two in different blankets, she didn't seem will to let go of child so he just wrapped both of them gently in the blanket. He met the faces of his speechless team as he climbed out.
"It's woman... and a child," whispered Syouri, stunned.
"She looks as if she's in her early twenties... the child is under 5..." Itaru hummed as he looked at the two.
"Where did she come from?" asked Sadao, frowning.
Sakumo gave a shrug, "I don't have a clue..." he gazed down at the two in his arms and made his decision, "She protected us, we'll take them back to Konoha and get our answers there..." he jerked his chin to the Suna shinobi, "Get them ready for travel.."
"Hai taicho..." the group chorused.
Sakumo and his unit raced back to Konoha with the Suna nin on their shoulders bound, sealed, and unconscious. Sakumo only carried the still unconscious mother and child. His fingers traced the strange whisker scars on her face. He wondered about them, why had they yet to heal.
His team stopped once during the trip to rest at night. Sakumo still hadn't let them go, letting the blonde woman rest again his chest, still holding her chld tightly against her chest. Syouri came to the three with a comb in hand. Sakumo gave a grateful look and rhelped the woman sit up straight enough to brush her hair and put it in a braid, that when they noticed the feathers and beads that littered her hair. There were only a couple of clans that did that so maybe she was related to someone from their.
Syouri swiftly braided her hair, he small hands ran through the blonde's bangs that rested against the jaw.
"She looked familiar..." Syouri frowned as she spun some of the hair between her fingers.
"Namikaze Minato..." Itaru hummed from his place near the fire. Keeping hot enough for warmth but low enough from detection.
Sadao raised his eyebrow, "He's not the only blonde in Konoha.
"No, there is the Yamanaka clan but they are pale blondes..." he pointed a kunai at the woman, "That's not Yamanaka blonde. That's Namikaze blonde, remember that kid graduated with my class, I know that shade anywhere..."
That's when the woman opened her eyes again and they all gasped, those blue eyes were the same shade as Minato's. She looked to Sakumo with tired eyes the to her child. She bent her head down to ruffle his hair with her nose smelling his scent. Before resting her head against Sakumo and her eyes closed again.
"She's got to be related to-" Sadao.
"Whether she is a long lost relative of Namikaze-san or not, she will be taken to Konoha, questioned, and hopefully will join our ranks... she is already very powerful..." Sakumo interrupted.
"Who says she isn't a spy?" Itaru said.
Syouri smacked the back of his head, "You baka, what mother or any village in general would bring a baby with them to spy... none so shut up with your paranondness..." Itaru grumbled as he rubbed the back of his now sore head.
"If you are all done, we should set up night watch..." Sadao huffed and walked off with Syouri.
Morning came quickly as the team continued back to Konoha with their cargo. Sakumo kept his glances mostly ahead and his senses on high alert. Due to this, he was able to feel the twitch of small fingers resting against him. His eyes went down and small, daze, blue eyes, darker than the mother's, looked up at him.
He smiled down gently at the boy, "Good afternoon kid. Don't worry, you and your mother are safe..."
Those dark azure blue eyes looked up at him in confusion before glancing up at his hitai-ate. Recognition flashed briefly, before he let out a sigh and snuggled deep into his mom's warmth.
Kousei could feel the wind blow again his pale cheek, it was soothing when his skin felt so sensitive. As his senses finally woke up, he realized that the melody that has been keeping him asleep was his mama's heart beat. Next his sense of smell came he had something similar to his mother's, his eyes opened as he thought he smell his Kaka-oji. But there was something different about this one, Kaka-oji smelled like his ninken, paper and ozone. Instead, this scent had more of a wild nature, he smelled the scent of canine but it was more wild, like wolves.
When he opened his eyes, he was glad for the canopy above. The sun was high, she could feel its warmth. He heard a deep voice speak.
"Good afternoon kid. Don't worry, you and your mother are safe..."
Kousei looked up at the face above him as it slowly came into view. He frowned at it. Was he really in the past? Why was oji-kun caring him?
His vision cleared more and as he saw the covered up face, he noticed that the scar that was over Kakashi's left eye was missing along with the sharingan. That and as his eyes went to the silver hair, they were the spikey, but were long and pulled into a low pony. Kousei relaxed at the sight of the Konoha Hitai-ate. The clues slowly came together in her muddled mind.
'Oh, it's oji-kun's father, Sakumo...'
Letting out a sigh, he closed his eyes once more.
Minatsuki opened her eyes and was blinded by the bright, white, light of the hospital lights. Then the pungent smell of the hospital came and her nose wrinkled. She looked around for Kousei, when she couldn't see her son anywhere near her, her heart rate increased on the monitor and a nurse came in. A nurse came and when she saw that Minatsuki was awake she ran out and called for a doctor.
"Hello Mrs..." the nurse says as she walks next to her.
"My sochi..." Minatsuki said, "Where is my sochi?"
The nurse smiled, "Your son is alright ma'am... he's playing with some other kids, we haven't done anything to him..."
"Can I see him?" asked Minatsuki.
The nurse shook her head and Minatsuki panicked again, "No now... the Hokage wishes to speak to you first..."
"Alright," Minatsuki agreed. The nurse left and about half an hour later a young version of Hiruzen with a Yamanaka walked in.
"Hello Miss..." Hiruzen silently asked for her name.
"Minatsuki," answered the blonde, "Namikaze Minatsuki..."
Hiruzen's eyes widened, "Your a Namikaze..."
"I believe so," Mina giggled.
Hiruzen's face became stern, "Why did you come to Konoha?"
Minatsuki pointed to her head in a silent message.
The pale blonde Yamanaka walks up and sits in a chair next to Minatsuki, "Minatsuki-san, my name is Yamanaka Inohachi... I'm going to enter your mind along with the Hokage..."
The blonde nodded, "Okay..."
Inohachi touched her head and the Sandaime's and they entered her mind.
When they opened their eyes, they were surprised to see her mindscape. It was a flower field with a giant Sakura tree in the center which gave shade to the Kyūbi. Wait the Kyūbi!
"You have it!" Hiruzen shouted. He almost had a heart attack when he got word that Kushina's seal was empty.
Minatsuki appeared. She had long blonde hair that fell past her butt, three whisker marks were on each cheek. She had pupiless blue eyes and her arms crossed under her chest. She wore a Hokage cloak like Minato's except that in had long sleeves that looked like they were from a kimono. She was wearing a navy blue top with the jōnin flak jacket on top. Her black pants had plenty of pockets. She had black shinobi sandals and Konoha headband tied to her upper arm but the hitai-ate on the other arm was marked with the kanji 忍 which meant shinobi. One each sleeve and the back of the haori were the kanji 六代目火影 which mean Rokudaime Hokage.
"Him..." Minatsuki corrected, "and yes, my arrival with a stronger seal over wrote the other container's seal, but she is an Uzumaki, so she can handle. Especially since the seal on her was designed to hold not merge with her own..."
The Sandaime's eyes narrowed, "Who are you really..."
Minatsuki put a hand over her chest, "My name is Uzumaki Minatsuki or Namikaze Minatsuki... Twenty-One years old, I am or I was the Rokudaime Hokage of Konohagakure no Sato and later the leader of the Shinobi Alliance. I am not only here to save Konoha from destruction but the whole Elemental Nations. I'm fully aware of the fact that the Third Shinobi War is yet to happen and I can't stop the loss of life that comes along with it, I am not here to interfere with that one completely, but to prevent the next one..." the blonde took a deep breath after finishing her speech.
Hiruzen looked Inohachi and Inohachi sighed at the quiet question, "One cannot lie in their own mind..."
Minatsuki snorted, "I don't lie thank you very much..."
Sarutobi hummed, "If we need this to be a secret, we need a backstory... for you and your sochi..."
"I kinda came here in a really flashy way..." Minatsuki took a thoughtful pose, "Have any ideas Kurama? I don't really have a plan here..."
A growl of irritation was heard before the two men froze at the sight of the massive orange fox that opened its eyes.
"Oi gaki... I'm too tired for this, do it yourself..."
"I'll have Kousei prank the Uchiha clan with any NON-violent or dangerous prank..." Minatsuki said with a raised eyebrow.
Kurama's lips twitched, "Promise?"
"Of course..."
"Fine... you look way to much like that Yondaime brat and to not be related, you can cover your red hairs with a henge. You could say that you were his mother's sister since she was the one with blonde hair, not his father. You can say that you had been looking for your elder sister that your late mother always talked about. Kushina had mostly aunts but there were a couple uncles, say that one of those children survived the fall of Uzushio and you had Kousei with him. He died protecting you from those still hunting Uzumaki. He only knew about Kushina and told you to come to her in Konoha..."
"Hey that's well thought out..." Minatsuki grinned, "Your being smart for once."
Kurama growled, "Anyways, he needed to seal the chakra from the Kyūbi that came from the Gold and Silver brothers since no knows what happened to them..."
"And when I was attacked by Uzumaki haters, you used your chakra to send me and Ko to Konoha as soon as possible, knowing that they protected the rest of your chakra. That and you're a selfish bastard who wanted the rest of your chakra..."
The fox hummed but didn't deny it, he decided that in retaliation, to swipe a tail at her. Minatsuki jumped to avoid it.
"I love you too..."
The bijū grumbled.
"WHy'd you come back so far?" asked Inohachi.
The blonde gave a sad smile, "I can prevent a lot more things since many things happened around this time..." then she looked back at the scenery, "But none of my precious people have been born yet..."
Inohachi smiled and nodded his thanks to her willingness to answer her question.
"Is there anything I should be aware of that you will be changing soon?" asked Hiruzen.
The Uzumaki went to deny it before remembering the man that had brought her here to Konoha, she closed her mouth and thought over it. The Kyūbi, hearing her thoughts, bumped his nose with her.
Minatsuki sighs, "Sakumo abandons a mission of S-rank importance with in the next year or so. With that, his peers turn on him... Even when choosing the lives of his comrades over the mission for the first time, those same comrades turn on him... He eventually commits suicide due to this and is later discovered with his 6 year old son having stared at his corpse for hours... I want to prevent the trauma Kakashi gets and Sakumo's death. He's good, loyal, and strong man," Minatsuki smirks, "This isn't so important that it would affect you, but if it does, I'll let you know..."
The Sarutobi could already see the cogs turning in her head and had to stifle a groan.
"Is there anything else you need Jiji?" asked the blonde.
Hiruzen ran a hand over his face, "No Minatsuki-san... it's time we return outside and get this paperwork stated for your citizenship. Is there anything else? And where will you stay? I am sure Minato would love to know he has a family..."
Minatsuki's smile became tight, "Minato and I will meet soon, same as Kushina... but I would like to stay with Sakumo and Kakashi, those two will need me more. I'll slowly get Minato and Kushina to adapt to me. As for your first question, I have a plan for what I will do, I won't be a ninja on official records, I want to be there for Kousei... I'm be in ANBU but it will be a secret..."
"Very well, what would you like to called?" asked Hiruzen.
"Well I summon dragons but I can't have that mask... I don't want fox, that will be too obvious... how about leopard... I'll need crutches, I don't want people to know I'm a jinchūriki because we heal pretty fast..."
"Alright..." Hiruzen nodded, "Inohachi if you would..."
Inohachi nodded and with a displacement of chakra the three were pushed out of Minatsuki's mind.
The blonde clutched head and groaned in pain, "Kami, that never hurt when Ino did it..."
"Ino?" Inohachi asked softly.
"You're magomusume..."
Inohachi beamed and Minatsuki rolled her eyes, the Hokage asked the doctor for a pair of crutches and a few minutes later, they were out in the hospital lobby with Minatsuki walking with crutches.
"Oh you all can call me Tsuki... it's easier..." said Minatsuki.
"We you be able to play the part?" asked the Sarutobi.
"Hai..." Minatsuki bowed her head with a smile, "I had an Uchiha for a teammate ya'know... I know who to keep a straight face and keep quiet with one word answers. A nurse walked up hand in hand with Kousei.
"Kousei..." Minatsuki said, her kid brightened up and hugged his mom.
"I'll order blood tests for both you and Kousei later for relative and the database and stuff..." the Sandaime said, "Get me Hatake Sakumo..." ANBU appeared then disappeared.
"I've never met Sakumo. I like thought. I've yet to meet his Kakashi..." said Minatsuki, "Kousei..." The red looked to meet his mother's serious face, "You can't talk at all about our old home, your dad has red hair too okay..."
Kousei nodded, "Okay Kā-chan..."
"Oh and please don't have your son graduate any further than within a year..." Sarutobi basically begged.
"Hai hai..." Minatsuki looked down to her red head son, "Did you hear that Ko-kun?"
"Hai Kā-chan..." nodded Kousei.
"Will speak more another time..." said Sarutobi, he looked to Inohachi, "This is SS-Ranked Secret, her jinchūriki status is S-Ranked..."
Inohachi nodded, "Alright Hokage-sama..."
That's when Sakumo came with a ANBU and stood before the Hokage and Minatsuki, Inohachi was already leaving.
"I have to tell you an S-Ranked Secret before you take your new ward here home," he paused, "Minatsuki his the current jinchūriki of the Kyūbui..." Sakumo froze and Hiruzen felt his lips twitch but resisted the urge to smirk.
"That would explain the massive chakra signature..." Sakumo softly said, "It protected her from the enemy, but must have recognized our Hitai-ate..."
"We also saw flashes of red in some of the blurry images... it seems that the reserves she has are possible lover or friend. Sakumo understood immediately, Minatsuki had a child with an Uzumaki.
As they walked through the streets of Konoha, Sakumo decided to speak up first, "So want to go shopping for clothes?"
Minatsuki nodded, "Definitely... I forgot to introduce myself, Minatsuki... this is my son Kousei..."
"You already no who I am..."
Minatsuki chuckled, "Of course.
They walked into a store run by a civilian couple. It had everything from civilian to shinobi wears in the back. It was a store he would often shop in, for Kakashi and himself. Sakumo watched as Kousei eyes looked at the child section.
"You take care of him, I'm going to look for some clothes..." Minatsuki went of the women's section.
After a while of searching, Byakusei was dressed in a red shirt and black three fourths with an orange and a oink stripe going down it. When Sakumo saw Minatsuki, his breath hitched in his throat. Minatsuki was wearing a full sleeves silver white jacket with a navy blue tan top that only covered her breasts, and black pants with the end wrapped in bandages and sky blue shinobi sandals. She wore black fingerless gloves with metal plates that had the Konoha symbol. She wore a single ear ring on her it had red beads with a tooth at the end, but it was covered by her bangs so you couldn't really see it.
"Sakumo-kun... you good?" asked Minatsuki, snapping that man out of his daze.
"H-hai..." stuttered Sakumo, "Let's head to my home..."
