Fate is a very cruel mistress, she often plays sick games to poor unfortunate souls she wishes to toy with and Cayde is sadly one of them...
It was the next day and things were supposed to get better, especially after Cayde explained everything that happened last night with the enforcer and the pro hero to the others while chowing down at a small food stand." They said they're looking into getting the evidence and Vander seems to think they'll honor there word." Said Cayde as he digs into his food.
The group, minus Mylo and Clagger, was eating at a food stand owned by a very large awesome fish man named Jericho. He's a very good cook but it's best not to ask about the food." I doubt it...but if Vander thinks so then maybe..." said Vi as she digs into her food as well.
"Don't worry about it too much Vi and just keep stuffing your face with the world's greatest food from the world's greatest fish man." Said Powder with a grin, complementing Jericho and his cooking.
The fish man laughed at hearing this while holding a butcher knife, happy to hear the compliments. After that, Jericho stabs the knife onto a wooden board that was on his shoulder. After doing that, Jericho speaks in his native fish man tongue as he started to grab the trios empty bowls.
After that, the trio then left, but not before paying the fish man for the meal. Once they paid, the three went walking through the streets of Zaun, heading to there secret hideout where Mylo and Clagger are. The trip there was relatively easy and quick,
Once they got in, the three of them spotted Mylo standing on Claggers shoulders. Mylo was attempting to change the score board for a boxing game they all had." Keep still so I can do this!" Said Mylo, trying to put himself higher on the scoreboard.
Clagger groans a bit." I don't know how you talked me into this but hurry up before Vi and the others come ba-" Clagger was interrupted by someone coughing.
It was Vi, crossing her arms in disappointment at what she was seeing. When she coughed however, it caused Clagger to jump a bit, and that caused Mylo to fall off of Clagger and onto his back." Ow fuck!" Mylo groans a bit in pain.
Vi walked over and looks down at Mylo." That's what happens to those who try to cheat." Said Vi before walking over to the boxing game and then started to box it.
While she did that, Cayde and Powder went over to the gun game to shoot at some targets together to see who could get the higher score, even though every time they do this powder ends up winning.
"Any news on the enforcers? Are they still looking for us?" Asked Clagger as he walked over to a couch and took a seat while Mylo was getting up off the floor.
The one to answer him was powder, who was beating caydes ass at the shooting game without even looking." Nope, Cayde said that Vanders got the situation being handled so we should be alr-" As if the universe wanted to prove Powder wrong, a body came crashing through the covered glass display window to the groups hideout.
The caused the group to stop what they were doing and turn their attention to the now broke glass display window, immediately spotting the culprits, it was a group of enforcers, being lead by that one enforcer Cayde saw yesterday, Marcus.
When Marcus spotted the teens, he immediately spotted there unique hair colors and stuff from the reports he read." There's the culprits, detain them now." Ordered Marcus.
Enforcers immediately started to come in, that was the gangs cue to get the hell out of there. Clagger quickly hit the switch, turning off all the power to the hideout." Run!" Yelled Vi.
Everyone began to run for the back exit while enforcers chased after them, attempting to catch up to the teens to arrest them. The gang heading through an alley as they attempted to escape." What the hell happened to Vander taking care of things?!" Asked Mylo, running for his life with the others.
"I don't know! We'll figure it out later!" Said Cayde as he kept on running as well, well that is till he and the rest of the group spotted some Enforcers on the other side of the alley, blocking the path.
This wasn't looking good. Enforcers were coming from both sides and were approaching the teens quickly, but fate is on their side for now as an unlikely savior arrives. It was Ekko! He dropped down a ladder from above a ledge for the gang." Hurry guys, climb!" He said.
"You heard him! Climb!" Said Vi, climbing up immediately. Powder, Clagger, Mylo, and Cayde followed up after her in that order.
While climbing up however, Marcus pulled out a gun, about to shoot at one of the teens climbing up, specifically at Cayde since he was the last one. But before Marcus could pull the trigger, Powder threw a rock right between Marcus's eyes, cause the man to fall down and drop his gun." Bullseye!" Said Powder with a grin.
Cayde sighs with Some relief as he makes it to the top. After that he turns and then kicked down the ladder so the group couldn't be followed, and to hurt some enforcers who tried to climb after them, and it worked.
After that, Cayde turns to powder and smiled." I owe you big time." He said.
"Yep, I expect lots of candy and cuddles later." Said Powder with a bit of a smirk, planning on milking this save over Cayde for a bit once this whole mess is done with.
Vi rolled her eyes at this and then started to walk away."Come on , we gotta get back to the last drop and talk with Vander." Said Vi, wanting everyone to get on the same page.
That's right, Vander might know what's going on and why the Enforcers are still looking for them after what he told that sheriff and that pro-hero.
Speaking of those two...
Back up top in piltover, things were not going well for the sherif enforcer and the pro-hero .This morning,While looking into the incident and going through surveillance cameras like Vander had suggested to them, they both were shocked to learn that the camera footage around the time of the incident was erased.
Street camera Footage is only ever erased after a year
If it hadn't it caught something worth keeping, like the incident. But since it wasn't there and the ones in charge of monitoring and cataloging footage from those cameras were the enforcers,that meant that there was a traitor in the enforcers.
Currently the two were in Graysons office, discussing on how to weed out the traitor and find out what their motives were for this betrayal. While discussing this, Marcus came barging into the office with a bruise and a bit of a lump between his eyes." We need to amass every enforcer we got and storm wherever those fucking trencher brats are hiding!" He said, severely pissed off.
Instead of calling some enforcer forces, Grayson decided to talk with her deputy first."Marcus, what happened down there?" Asked Grayson, wanting to know what happened before even considering Marcus request.
Marcus explained the situation that lead him to wanting to gather as many enforcers." They got away but when we find them again, I'll make sure they won't be able to run away again." Said Marcus, clenching his fist in anger.
Eraserhead just stared at the grown man before him, complaining like a child because he got hurt." Listen closely...you are a grown man acting like a brat. You need to shut up and pay attention. We have uncovered something that might suggest there's a traitor in the enforcers." Said Eraserhead, glaring slightly at Marcus to get him to calm down or else.
Hearing the pro hero say that caused Marcus's anger to wither away and then was replaced by concern and slight nervousness." What? Are you sure there's a traitor? What makes you think that?" Asked Marcus, remaining calm and acting normal and being not suspicious at all.
"We've been doing some investigating, trying to prove those accused kids innocence, but when reviewing the street camera footage, the time of the incident was erased. The only ones who have access to the footage are the enforcers, meaning someone on our side erased the evidence, wanting those kids to take the fall." Said Grayson, confident in her theory.
Grayson didn't know how much she was right on the money cause that was exactly the reason. But who would do this and what could possibly be there to gain from this?
"This information doesn't leave this room, we are going to investigate this discreetly. And do not let the council know about this. They will overreact about it and cause more harm than good." Said Eraserhead as he started to walk away, heading out to do some investigating in Zaun by himself to see if he can catch the traitor enforcer in action.
After he left, Grayson looked at Marcus." Marcus, we have a short amount of time to prove those accused kids didn't cause that destruction. I need you to go get yourself patched up and then prepare to go back to Zaun." Said Grayson as she goes back to attempting to find a single ounce of evidence or even a way to retrieve what was lost.
Marcus didn't argue, he just nodded and walked away out of her office. Once he was far enough and alone, Marcus pulled out his phone and then made a call to someone." We got a problem, the sheriff and a pro-hero are looking into this and aren't giving up. Plus they know there's a traitor. What do we do?" He asked the person on the phone.
The person on the other end is silent for a bit before speaking." How long does the sheriff got before she will be forced to make an arrest on those teenagers sooner rather than keep on stalling?" Asked the voice on the other end of the phone. The voice was male and a bit...sexy creepy.
"Not too long, maybe a couple more hours at most. The deadline is at eight." Said Marcus, looking over at a clock and saw that it said three pm. Meaning that Grayson only has about five hours left to catch and imprison at least one of those teens.
"Make sure she finds no evidence, Oh and do keep her distracted or else." After that, the person on the other end hangs up, leaving Marcus alone with his thoughts.
Marcus sighs a bit, slightly regretting what he had done...but then remembers what his reward will beat the end of this mess so he sucks it up and does as he is told.
Back in zaun...
The teens had made it back to the Bar, but while there, there was a bunch of people who showed up, seems like Vander was holding a meeting of sorts. People were angry with what the Enforcers have been doing in Zaun and want to fight against them, or turn the teens over to get the enforcers to stop.
Vander was doing his best to keep the people of zaun from making a huge mistake." We don't give up our own. And we certainly do not wanna start a fight with piltover again." Said Vander, not wanting another fight after what happened all those years ago.
This caused everyone to settle down a bit , nearly everyone in the room remembered what happened that day. So many people died on both sides. So a lot of people were starting to change. But, one person in the room wasn't changing her mind." We have the numbers but you don't wanna fight? What happened to you? I remember when you used to be fierce, but now look at you... afraid to fight." The woman said, getting up close to Vander.
Vander just stared at her as he pulled out his pipe, lights, and then takes a big puff of it. After that he blows some smoke at her." Do I look afraid?" Asked Vander, looking down at her slightly.
The woman just glared at him." No...you look weak." After that the woman whistled and then walked away with some people, planning to act.
The teen just watched this and was a bit conflicted." Why doesn't he want to fight? We took down a group of enforcers easily, with everyone in Zaun, we could take them all down." Said Mylo, most of the others agreeing. They think there bit of luck wasn't luck.
Cayde frowns upon hearing this."Yeah, and get lots of innocent people killed . Do you guys want that to happen? To have innocent people die over a mess we are getting blamed for? Do you wanna die?"Asked Cayde, looking at them all, waiting for an answer.
This caused the group to rethink about fighting back, well except Vi." So what? People die all the time, we need to fight back." Said Vi, slightly glaring at Cayde and starts to think he's being a coward.
Cayde puts his full attention on Vi and glared back at her." You're an idiot Vi. Are you telling me you want us all to go out there and fight? What if powder or one of the others get killed because of the fight? Do you want that on your conscience?" Asked Cayde, standing his ground on thinking they shouldn't fight. All Cayde wants to do is keep his loved ones safe and alive, no matter what. Even if that means not fighting back and swallowing his pride.
That almost made Vi sock Cayde in the face, but powder steps in." Guys stop it! I think...that Cayde is right Vi. This fight with topside is just gonna lead to people we love getting hurt or killed. I don't want me or anyone else to lose someone again. Like how we lost mom and dad..." said Powder, looking at Vi with a sad expression, reminding her sister that fighting with topside led to the deaths of their parents.
Hearing this makes Vi ease up a bit and calms down completely." You're right...we're not gonna be a part of the fight if one breaks out. We're gonna keep lying low till things clear up." Said Vi as she heads downstairs, Mylo and Clagger following her, leaving Cayde and Powder alone.
Now that they were alone, they can have some time to themselves and process everything together.
A bit Later...
Powder and Cayde were relaxing together on a beanbag chair, talking about a few things concerning there future and the mess there in." We'll make it through this mess together right?" Asked Powder as she lays her head on Caydes shoulder.
Cayde nodded a bit as he hugs her with one arm, keeping her close." Don't worry, I'll make sure of that, even if I have to bite some people in the butt." joked Cayde as he snuggled with Powder.
The joke made Powder giggle a bit, finding the thought of Cayde biting people in the butt a bit funny. But after that, Powder began to yawn a bit, feeling tired after the day she's had." Good, I'm gonna hold you to your words, but for now I'm gonna get some sleep." She said as she gets up and headed for her bed.
The others were already in bed, getting ready to get to some sleep after the rough day they all had.
Cayde just watched everyone, taking a look at them all as if this will be the final time he sees them, but that's not gonna happen...right?" I'll be right back, I'm gonna get something to drink." Said Cayde as he gets up and headed up the stairs.
When Cayde made it up to the bar, he noticed two things. One, there was one no in the bar except for Vander and Benzo. And the second thing he noticed was that they looked more worried and a bit mad. That must mean things have just gotten worse.
Cayde walked over to them and took a seat on one of the bar stools." So, what's the bad news? Did those idiots decide to go and pick a fight with topside?" Asked Cayde, wanting to know what happened.
The two at first didn't say a word but knew one of them had to give the bad news to Cayde, so Vander decided to be the one." I just got a text from sheriff Grayson...someone erased the footage of what happened up there. There's no evidence to clear you and the others name. And to make things worse, she's got about two hours to arrest someone or else the council will do something drastic." Said Vander as he rubs his face a bit, frustrated by what he said.
Hearing this caused Cayde to sigh and stare at the bar counter for a while, not looking at Benzo nor Vander for a while." There's no way out of this till someone is brought in..." said Cayde, knowing that with time so short, that was the only way for a fight to not break out.
The two older men knew this as well, but they weren't gonna hand over anyone." Don't you worry lad, we're not gonna hand any of you lot over to topside." Said Benzo with a reassuring smile.
Cayde didn't say a word, but what he did next confused both Vander and Benzo. Cayde started to take off his scarf, a gift from Powder." What are you doing kid?" Asked Vander.
Cayde sets his scarf down on the counter and then looked over at Vander and Benzo." I'm leaving a bit of myself here for powder before I'm dragged off Stillwater." Said Cayde, planning on turning himself in.
This was very shocking to hear." What?! Are you out of your mind?! You are not gonna turn yourself in!" Said Vander, not about to let Cayde turn himself in.
"This is the only way Vander. We both know that. Someone has to be taken and the others wouldn't make it in Stillwater, maybe Vi but powder needs her and I know for a fact you wouldn't want none of the others anywhere near Stillwater." Said Cayde, determined to turn himself in to keep the others safe, mostly powder of course.
"I don't want you going anywhere near there either! Think about powder and how this will eff-" Vander was interrupted by Cayde, stopping the man from continuing.
"I know! But I'd rather she be pissed at me than be put in jail! Now I'm gonna do this whether you like it or not!" Said Cayde, banging his fist on the bar counter as he glared a bit at Vander, keeping his ground.
Vander was about to yell back, but then Benzo put a hand on his shoulder, stopping his old friend." Vander, the kids gonna do this whether you like it or not." Said Benzo with a bit of sad expression. He doesn't wanna see Cayde get thrown into jail but the council needs there pound of flesh.
"Fine...where do you want to meet up with them?" Asked Vander reluctantly, ready to set up a meeting spot for sheriff Grayson to come and meet Cayde to arrest him.
Cayde already had the perfect place in mind." At Benzo's shop. It's decently far from here and by the time powder and the others learn about what I did, I'll be long gone..." said Cayde, knowing that spot would be okay for his arrest.
Vander just nodded as he pulled out a phone and then sends Grayson a quick text message, telling her what's gonna happen. It didn't take long for a reply to come through." She's on her way there now. We better get going. Benzo, can you stay here and keep an eye on things?" asked Vander as he puts the phone away.
Benzo nodded a bit." Of course." He said. After that, Cayde and Vander left, heading out to Benzo's shop.
Benzo will wait till Vander gets back to break so he can break the news to the teens. but unknowingly to the three,someone had been secretly listening in the whole time. It was Ekko, having accidentally listening in but he's so glad that he did.
So while Ekko goes downstairs and decides whether or not to tell the others what he just learned, Cayde and Vander make there way to Benzo's shop, neither of them saying a word the whole way there. When the two arrived there, they spotted Sheriff Grayson with her Deputy and the pro-hero Eraserhead.
"Isn't this is a bit much for one perp?" Cayde jokingly said as he looked at them.
No one laughed for a few reasons. Vander,Grayson, and Eraserhead didn't cause they felt guilty for being unable to have prevent this situation from happening. As for Marcus, he just hated the teen.
Marcus glared at Cayde and then throws a pair of cuffs at him." Shut it trencher. Just put the cuffs on." He said, being overly aggressive right now, which is very sad considering Marcus is a grown man and yet is acting like a child.
Cayde rolled his eyes and then puts on the cuffs while Grayson and Eraserhead both looked at Marcus with disapproval but neither said anything about it." You didn't have to do this kid." said eraserhead.
Hearing this just caused Cayde to shake his head a bit." That's where you're wrong. Someone has to take the full blame, might as well be me." Said Cayde, being serious.
Now with Cayde cuffed, there was only one thing left to do, take the teen to ja- BANG BANG BANG!!!
The sound of a gun going off caught everyone's attention, and some unfortunate events happened as well. Two out of the three bullets from the gun hit and killed Sheriff Grayson while the last one hit Eraserheads leg, right in the knee, causing great pain.
Eraserhead was forced to fall down to the ground. "Agh! Dame it!" Said Eraserhead as he hold knees in pain, trying to get up but failing.
While Eraserhead handles his pain on the ground, Marcus, Vander and Cayde both stared at the one who pulled the trigger. A figure comes out of the fog, revealing himself to be a well dressed man with a huge scar on his face and a red ruined eye ball. Vander recognizes the man immediately, but he's not the only one." What the hell silco?! This wasn't part of the deal!" Said Marcus, revealing the name of the man before them all and that he is a dirty traitor.
Silco started to walk over to them all, tossing a bag of cash to Marcus." Deals change, now run along pet." He said as he reached Marcus.
After getting his payment, Marcus looks back at the others before booking it.
Everyone who was still alive couldn't help but want to choke the fuck out of Marcus if they ever see him again, but that would have to wait." Silco...whatever you're doing, it's not gonna end well, we both know that." Said Vander, putting his fists up, ready to fight.
Silco stared at the man he once called brother before answering him." You're right...this won't end well...for all topside." Said Silco as he then snapped his fingers.
The next thing that happened was truly unexpected. When silco snapped his fingers, a big hulking figure came walking out of the fog till he was standing next to silco. Now getting a better look at this hulking brute, there was two noticeable things. One, the hulking brute had lots and lots of purple glowing veins, it was a bit disgusting. And the second thing was that the brute looked a lot like someone Cayde knows.
Caydes eyes go a bit wide when he recognizes who this brute was." Deckard? What the fuck happened to you?!" Asked Cayde, shocked by how jacked and monstrous looking Deckard has become now.
Deckard doesn't say a word, in fact he can't even form words. All Deckard can do is grunt and groan while he just stands next to Silco, waiting for his bosses next command.
"I have made him superior to anyone from topside. The time for zaun to rise up and show the world what it's truly made of is at hand." Said Silco as he then snapped his fingers.
After the snap, Deckard started to approach the three, about to do who knows what to them...
Meanwhile...
Back at the last drop, Benzo was pouring himself a free drink, trying to keep his mind off of Cayde decided to hand himself over to the enforcers. It's a sad thing for a kid like him to have his future taken from him.
Once done filling up his glass, Benzo was about to take a sip, but then the basement door slams open, startling Benzo and caused him to spill his drink on himself ." Ah Dame it!" Benzo looked over at the now open basement door and saw a rather angry blue haired girl.
Powder storms over to Benzo, the others following after her, plus Ekko. When she got over to Benzo, she immediately saw Caydes scarf on the counter. As she grabs it, Powder looks at Benzo with a small glare." Where...is...my boyfriend? Please Tell me he didn't turn himself in." Said Powder, hoping to everything that Cayde didn't actually turn himself in.
Benzo had a sad expression on his face, about to tell them the worst news possible, but then the bar doors were slammed open, causing everyone to look over and spot Cayde and some hobo man with a bleeding leg wound coming in.
"Oh god what happened?!" Asked Benzo as he and the other ran on over, Benzo taking off of Caydes hands and then helped pro hero over to a chair for him to sit on.
Before Cayde could start explaining, Powder got a hold of Cayde and started to shaking him like crazy while the others talk with Eraserhead to find out what happened." How could you try and turn yourself in?!" Demanded Powder as she kept asking that and similar questions while shaking her boyfriend angrily, not giving him the chance to speak.
Eventually that anger turned to tears and sadness and the shaking turned into a hug." Never do that again,.." said Powder, crying as she hugs Cayde tightly.
Cayde knew she was gonna react badly to what he attempted to do, but he didn't know she would react this bad. So Cayde immediately hugs her back, rubbing her back a bit to ease her sadness." Never again." He said with a small smile.
After that moment, Powder and Cayde turn their attention to Eraserhead as he was finishing explaining what happened." We ended up escaping while Vander stayed behind and got captured by Silco and his monster." Said Eraserhead, informing everyone in the room what went down.
"Oh and the monster was fucking Deckard by the way. Whatever that silco guy did to him, it made Deckard into some kind of monster." Said Cayde, adding onto what the pro hero said.
Benzo knew who silco was and if what the two are saying is true then things are in deep shit. The others didn't know or cared who silco was, only that the bastard had Vander." We gotta go save Vander, now! Do either of you know where they took him?" Vi asked, wanting to go and save her dad now.
Eraserhead didn't say a word cause he didn't want some teens going off into dangers unknown, But Cayde did say something." Yeah, that silco bastard told monster Deckard to take Vander back to some warehouse near the docks. I can probably find there scent there and lead us to the right one." Said Cayde, having heard what silco said before getting out of there with the pro hero.
Vi nodded upon hearing this."Good. Everyone, saddle up and grab some gear. Benzo, stay here and keep an eye on the pro hero. Everyone else, let's get to it now." Without even given the two adults a chance to tell the teens to stop and think this through, they all immediately went off to prepare.
The teens had a mission, a mission to save Vander from the evil clutches of this silco guy, will they be successful?
Well let's see...
Later, down in a warehouse near the docs, clamped down to a chair inside of empty room inside of the warehouse was Vander, banged up and had a black eye. Right now, Vander was thinking of how much he would love to see his kids again, one last time. But as if some god like entity heard him, footsteps were heard approaching him, so Vander took a look to see who it was and he was shocked to see Vi, Cayde, and Powder. Reason why it was only those three was because out side of the warehouse were Mylo, Clagger, and Ekko. They were keeping an eye out for any of Silcos goons.
Almost immediately, Powder and Vi ran over and huged their dad while Cayde just smiled at this." It's good to see you old man." Said Cayde, glad to see that Vander is still kicking.
Though Vander was happy to see his daughters and pupil, he was also shocked to see them." How did you get past the guards? They're everywhere." Said Vander, confused and surprised they managed to get in without getting caught.
Power and Vi pulled away and immediately powder got to work on trying to get the clamps open, using a lockpick mylo gave her incase needed." We managed to find way in through a window, seems like there was no one around to...oh no." Vi started to putting two and two together as for why this seemed so easy. The others realized this as well.
What really confirmed this was some slow clapping on the other side of the bridge that connected to the room.
This caught everyone's attention immediately. They all looked over and saw silco, slow clapping as he emerged from the shadows." I suppose congratulations are in order, but I'm afraid this will be a short reunion." Said Silco, looking at the teens and Vander.
As Silco said that, his goons started to come out of the shadows as well, there was quite a few of them. This rescue mission might have just got harder.
Seeing this cause Powder to immediately go back to picking the locks on Vanders Clamps while Cayde and Vi stand on each side of the door as Vi began to put on Vanders old gauntlets."Fuck. What's the plan Vi?" Asked Cayde as he looked over at Vi, having his fists up, ready to brawl to buy some time to get Vander out so they all can escape.
"I'm gonna keep them at bay while you two work on freeing Vander." Said Vi as she steps out and started to walking towards and across the bridge.
Cayde was gonna argue, but he knows that vi can handle herself, at least long enough till he and Powder have freed Vander." Got it." Said Cayde as he pulled out a lock pick from his pocket and then got to work on one of the clamps to help speed up the process.
"Vi! Wait!" Vander was scared for his daughter's life, not wanting her to do this and put herself in danger. But his words didn't stop nor shook what Vi planned to do.
While those two handle that, Vi stands on business and stands at the middle of the bridge as Silco's biggest goon walked over to deal with her personal. The big guy just snorted a bit as he looked at her, unimpressed. After that, the big guy uses his big knife to try and stab Vi, But she was able to block it, which surprised the big guy.
After blocking the blade, Vi delivered a powerful uppercut to the big guy, knocking him out with a single blow. This surprised Silco and his other goons greatly. After that the rest of his goons started to go after Vi to try and kill her, but each them started to get there ass beaten by the teenager.
While Vi did that, Powder and Cayde were working quickly to unlock Vanders clamps. Soon enough they managed to get three open. Powder was quick enough to get a second." Alright!" Said Powder with a smile as she then got to work on the last one.
"Great job Powder. If we keep this up, we'll have Vander out of here no ti-" before Cayde could continue what he was gonna say, a familiar monstrous yell was heard.
Cayde quickly looked behind him and saw Deckard all juiced up on shimmer, making his way towards Vi very slowly." Vi! Get back here now! He's too strong for you!" Yelled out Cayde. Him and Vander both know how Vi is out of her league against shimmer Deckard.
Instead of listening, Vi yelled as she jumps up onto the rail and then leaps at Deckard, planning on bringing down her gauntlets onto Deckards...but Deckard very quickly caught Vi by her neck and then started to choke her.
This caused panic with the others. Cayde couldn't just sit and watch. So with quick thinking, Cayde comes up with an idea. He looked over at powder." Special bomb! Now!" Said Cayde.
Powder nodded immediately and then very quickly digs through her bag for the special bomb. While doing this, Vander tried to get Silco to stop Deckard." Leave them out of this Silco! This is between you and me!" Said Vander, trying to keep his family safe.
But Vander words failed to change Silco's choice and made him angry." You had your chance!" Said Silco, banging his fist on the rail in anger.
After that, Deckard tossed Vi forward, sending her to the ground hard and almost at the door. After that he started to walk towards her. But Deckard didn't go far as something was thrown at his face. This caused the shimmered up fool to stop and stare at what had hit him. It was a weird blinking oval object with a moving jaw.
As he did this, Cayde ran over to Vi and then picked her up, then immediately running back to where powder and Vander were. As Cayde made his way back to the room, Powder had managed to get the final clamp unlocked." Vanders free!" Shouted Powder so Vi and Cayde could hear.
Once Cayde back in the room, Cayde immediately began to shut the door." Great job powder, but you might wanna brace yourself, you two should do the same." He told everyone as he fully shuts the door, just in case something goes wrong.
Outside of the room, Deckard decided to try and pick up the object and see what it was up close. But as he was reaching for it...BOOM! And explosion of fire comes from the object.Turns out it was flame bomb. This ended up temporarily blinding Deckard, and also something else.
The fire caused a chain reaction when it hit the floor area of the warehouse. The shimmer that was just spilled out on the floor ignited and once that happened, it caused a lot of explosions all throughout out the building and down in the underground lab that under this place.
The entire warehouse shakes and started to fall apart slowly as it goes up in flames. Thankfully however, the group was alright, though Vi and Vander were banged up quite a bit and the door almost hit Cayde but thankfully it went past him and went through a wall, making a large hole and a exit at the same time, but probably wouldn't be the best option to use to escape since they were a on the second floor of the Warhouse. And to make things worse, they were not the only ones who survived.
Silco and a few members of his crew survived as well. Cayde saw this and groaned a bit as he got up off the ground." This escape plan keeps getting harder and harder." Cayde said as he looked over at the others, Seeing Powder helping Vi walk while Vander holds his sides as he stands next to his daughters.
"What's the plan? And please tell me someone's got one." Said Powder, hoping Cayde or someone here has a plan.
So far, no one had anything, not yet anyway. But the time to plan out a plan would have to wait cause one of silco's goons tried to attack them, But Cayde put them fucking beat down on this guy before punching him out of the room, knocking him out and causing him to drop his weapon.
After that, Cayde came up with a plan as he grabs the dropped weapon and broke off the handle parts that kinda looked like extended brass knuckles, though his idea was not a good one. " Alright, I have a plan...I'll fight our way out of here." Said Cayde as he started to walk out of the room.
Powder and the others were worried, but had faith in Cayde being able to handle himself. But against a shimmered up deckard, that's debatable." Don't you dare get killed!" Yelled out Powder as she watched Cayde start to approach only two conscious goons left.
Hearing this only fueled Caydes determination. He didn't plan to die today, he's got too much to lose." We're all gonna make it through this, I promise powder!" He yelled as he then charged at the normal goon first.
The goon tried to Punch Cayde, but he dodged it and then right hooks him in the face, knocking him out. After that, it was just Deckard. Now this one might be difficult to handle.
Deckard quickly approached Cayde and then tried to punch him, but Cayde moved his body a bit, just barely avoiding Deckard's fist as it just went past Cayde, giving Cayde the chance to wrap his arm around Deckard arm and then started gut checking him." Vomit! Already! Asshole!" Said Cayde, trying to get Deckard to vomit up the shimmer so he can hopefully go back to being weak and skinny.
But Caydes plan didn't work so well cause Deckard finally did something instead of taking the gut punches. Using his hulking strength, Deckard tossed Cayde over his shoulder like a broken toy thrown into the garage.
That caused Cayde to land on his back, causing some pain." Agh! You purple fucker!" Said Cayde as he groans in pain a bit as he gets back up, ready to fight.
The others could only stand by and watch this. They all hoped Cayde would win this fight, but vander hope faded almost instantly when he saw someone slowly creeping up behind Cayde." Cayde! Behind you!" He shouted, trying to get Cayde to move out of the way.
This warning caused Cayde to turn around just in time...just in time to get stabbed right in the gut by silco! Everyone was shocked by this, but powder was very devastated by this." NO!" She cried out. Powder tired to run over to him, But Vi and Vander stop her, not wanting her to get herself killed. But they were just as devastated by this as her.
While they stopped her, silco twisted the knife in Caydes gut, causing Cayde to loose any and all strength he had left. Cayde could barely stand as Silco leans in and whispered into Caydes ear." What a shame. But don't worry, they will join you soon." After that, Silco yanked his knife out and then gently pushed Cayde off the bridge, letting him fall onto an entire supply of shimmer.
The shimmer slowly started seeped into Caydes many opened cuts all over his body as he lays there, struggling to stay conscious. However, he was able to see Silco giving an order to Deckard and then watched as Deckard start to head in the others direction. Cayde gritted his teeth in anger, not gonna let that bastard and his hulking puppet harm them.
So, what does Cayde do? Well he slowly reached and grabbed an undamaged vile of shimmer...
While Cayde is about to do something reckless, Vander was standing in front of Vi and powder while Vi try's to comfort a crying powder, ready to defend them till his final breathe as Deckard started to approach." Come on you monster..." said Vander, ready to fight this bastard.
Deckard grins sickly as he approaches Vander and his daughters, but then stops out of shock when the bridge he was on started to shake...and he heard an animal growl. What happened next was insane. Deckards arm was suddenly grabbed and pulled away from them, causing his whole body to get yoinked back.
Deckard then was grabbed by the throat and slammed up on the wall by something much much bigger than him. This monstrous looking thing appeared to be very big, covered in grayish blue fur, long fingers with very sharp nails, a tail, and a wolf head. This beast was snarling and growling as it chocked the life out of Deckard, Scaring the ever loving fuck out Silco, Vander, and Vi.
As for Powder, she just stared at the beast with her red puffy eyes, watching as it tears out Deckards throat, ending the bastard permanently. Once finished with Deckard, the beast lets the body drop, and then turns its attention towards the others as it appears to be struggling with itself.
Once getting a better look at the snarling hulking beast, there was something familiar about it. Like they all have seen it before. But, it was powder who put it together why this beast was familiar."Cayde?" She asked, reaching out towards the beast, moving past Vi and Vander, who were completely shocked by hearing this cause it made sense.
The beast, now known to be Cayde, whimpered slightly as he stared at Powder, wanting to tell her how much he loves her and that he's sorry for what he's done." Pow-" Cayde got away from her immediately as he suddenly had a violent reaction, snarling and growling as he holds his head, turning away from Powder and the others, not wanting to accidentally harm them.
So what does he do? Why Cayde turns his attention towards Silco, Snarling at him, wanting to tear that bastard apart." BASTARD!" Cayde roared out at Silco, putting the fear of god into him.
This was unexpected! Silco was shocked to see the effects of Shimmer doing this to the one who he just stabbed not too long ago. That boy must have had a quirk and shimmer caused him to become this. Shimmer was not meant to be used by those with Quirks. Guess something like this will happen to those that use shimmer and have a quirk.
Silco, not wanting to become monster caydes chew toy, slowly backed away into the smoke of the fire, attempting to escape. This angered Cayde, causing him to roar out at Silco, about to go after him to tear him apart, but then he heard something behind him.
Cayde turns and saw that the ceiling above Powder and the others was shaking, about to come down on them. So without hesitation, Cayde ran right for them, scooping them all up with ease as he ran for the big hole in the wall that was made earlier and goes through it.
Not wanting the others to get hurt, Cayde used his body to protect them, landing hard on his back, causing him to let of them, making them roll away from his body a bit. They were all safe and alive…but cayde will not be for too long.
Powder, having recovered from the fall, quickly moved over to Cayde, laying a hand on Caydes chest as he breathed heavily." Cayde! No no no no, you're gonna be alright! Just keep breathing and look at me!" Said Powder, tears running down her cheeks as she stared at him, not wanting to lose her cayde.
As Powder did this, Vi and Vander get up and just stand there with sad looks on their faces, both knowing that this is the end of the line for Cayde and that there's nothing that can done to save him.
Cayde knew this as well, so with what little time he had left, he decided to speak his final words." Powder…I will always love you…even in death…." After saying that, Cayde draws his final breath and dies.
This causes Powder to break down, screaming and crying over the death of her boyfriend. Her screams cause Clagger and the other two to finally find the group. This was truly a terrible day, many had died. But of course, the one who deserved to die got to live, and a few others under his employment.
Silco and his crew watched the group for a while before they all started to walk away, leaving the broken group alone….
